I am purchasing a new built home with a mortgage rate of 2.7 %. The initial VA appraisal was done, but a follow up was needed to confirm that everything that was described was completed. The original closing date was XX/XX/2022 but due to a delay with the builder I had to pay an extension fee to keep my rate. I paid about {$3600.00} and extended it to XX/XX/2022. I was told by my lender that we were waiting on the confirmation appraisal by the VA and that the XXXX would be fine. When the XXXX came around the confirmation was never received because the lender never notified the VA that the building was complete. I had to them extend my rate to XX/XX/2022 and pay an additional $ XXXX. I explained to the lender they should be responsible for the fee because they burden the appraisal process but they told me it was the builders fault and that if I wanted I could take my business else where. Every VA appraisal process article I read, explained that the builder is never involved with the appraisal process just the lender, as they have to use a portal to request it. I just want my second extension fee money back and the lender to admit his mistake in the matter. Im attaching my closing documents which show the fee and my email to XXXX mentioning this burden is theirs, however there was no response.
