On XX/XX/2018, I was contacted via my cell phone and then my home phone by a restricted number. Since our credit cards had been compromised in the past and my number came up with the XXXX data breech, I do not answer the phone for those types of numbers. The person started to leave a message stating they were investigator XXXX from XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and I was going to be served in a matter of days unless I called XXXX and worked it out with them and then they could issue a stand-down order. I proceeded to call the phone number and talk to a woman who was genuinely sweet and we worked out a payment plan for a payday loan I am not even use I took out over 10 years ago. They threaten me with court if I did not get this worked out. They did not use the name I had 10 years ago, but rather my current married name. They did have my ss #, which is why the fear was instilled. I agreed to try this payment plan but I did want to have proof of debt sent to me and what was owed before I moved forward. A day or so later, I received a very generic email from XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ( no name on the document other than mine, no signature from an attorney, paralegal or even office assistant ) so I began to investigate the company and the red fraud/scam flags went up. There is no law office in NY with that name, there is one in Indiana and they have no idea what I was talking about. We contacted the building manager of the building in New York and the company has NEVER been a tenant there. I received another call today from investigator XXXX and he said he would be at my home on Wednesday to serve me and would I be home between XXXX and XXXX. So they scariest part is, my husband will be at work and they have my address. So I called the company back to try and resolve this, because if I owe a debt I will pay it back, no problem. The new person I talked with was XXXX, she was the " attorney 's assistant ''. I was not allowed to speak to the attorney, she did not have to provide me with any documentation than they already had ( which all I was asking for was proof of debt owed ). I looked up my 3 credit reports and there was nothing on there about an outstanding debt or collection. They calm this is from XXXX and it was sold to their company, but they do not have any other information because it went through many other credit collections first. Yet, XXXX was very ugly to me and said NASTY things. I did raise my voice and talk over her, I will admit that, because this is stressful and I am blown away at the lengths people will go to for a scam. If this is true, why don't they have a real address, why can they not mail me something in writing explaining and giving proof of what I owe, why is there no paralegal that works there, why is an acceptable method of payment a prepaid card? SO many why. I just really want the harassment at home to stop and the treats of being served by someone who now has my address. I have a family and am very scared. They also go by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Wilson , Riley & Associates LLC and XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Obtained a XXXX from XXXX XXXX that I defaulted on due to medical illness. On XXXX/XXXX/16 I received a call from an unknown Company stating " they would be coming to my home or place of employment to serve a Court Summons. '' They also stated they were retained by the creditor for collection process. The number referenced for callback is the same number this Male ( he gave no name ) called from. I called the number and no Company info was ever given. A male answered only stating " This is XXXX ''. I stated reason for my call and after some research XXXX says " you owe {$410.00} ''. I protested and stated I was aware I owed {$300.00} and I would only pay this amount. XXXX assured me I owed {$410.00} and stated " Do you have proof that 's all you owe? ". I informed him I had spoken with XXXX XXXX and was told the amount and it was {$300.00}. XXXX said " you agreed to pay surcharges, etc and you owe {$410.00}, it 's not fair for you to not pay your bill. ". I stated I 'm not dodging payment but I 'll only pay what 's owed. XXXX then became very upset, yelling and screaming, cursing at me and threatening legal action. I went to a local XXXX XXXX store asking for help ( I still had no idea of who the company XXXX worked for was ). XXXX an employee asks XXXX what company he was with and he repliex " XXXX you need to do your XXXX job and give the XXXX phone to XXXX XXXX ''. After this he yells more obscenities and hangs up again. I then call XXXX XXXX XXXX and speak with XXXX, she then gives me Midwesterns number and they give me XXXX number. I spoke with XXXX XXXX at XXXX and he advised me to call XXXX back because that company had the loan. XXXX gave me the Company name Wilson Riley and Associates. I call back but I recorded the calls. XXXX answered and as soon as he knew it was me he berates me " I do n't respect you XXXX XXXX, etc '' ( I wanted to upload recordings but system wo n't let me ). After 4 attempts being yelled at, called names I beg XXXX XXXX to help me and take my payment. I still to date have no legal proof Wilson Riley and Associates own my debt. A payment processed for {$310.00} on XXXX/XXXX/16 from XXXX.

Violation of Fair Debt Collection practices. Claiming to be an attorney office, no website or contact information provided. Yelling, screaming, and calling names. Refusing to communicate via writing as requested. Contacting family members and friends trying to collect a FALSE debt. Threatening police will come to serve papers. This company is a fraud. They have violated ALL of the following Fair Debt Collection Practices listed below : Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not : use threats of violence or harm ; use obscene or profane language ; or repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.
False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not : falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives ; falsely claim that you have committed a crime ; falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company ; misrepresent the amount you owe ; indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they are n't ; or indicate that papers they send to you are n't legal forms if they are.
Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that : you will be arrested if you do n't pay your debt ; they 'll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so ; or legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they do n't intend to take the action.

Received a voice mail from an XXXX XXXX stating she was from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Said she had a summons to deliver to me and would be there Friday morning between XXXX and XXXX and wanted to be sure I was there. Also called my mother and demanded she contact me. My mother said please do not call her she was told they have every right to call as she was listed as a reference and the only person who could take her off would be me. I called th number given in the voice mail XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was transferred to a man who refused to tell me what this was about and told me he will continue to call my mother as he has every legal right to. Told me that he understood it would be hard for me to understand since XXXX XXXX has XXXX of the lowest XXXX 's in the nation. Said I was a XXXX debtor and he was sure I was getting calls from other people because I was XXXX and I didnt pay my bills. I asked what this was in regards to he said we just need to know if you will be home Friday cause we have been there before and no one was home. Told him they have called me before and he said that was a lie and that I was a liar. I asked him again what this was in reference to he refused to tell me. He continued to berate me and call me XXXX and a low life etc. This is clearly a debt collector and the number is registered to XXXX XXXX. If this was a legit legal issue there would have been a local number and the address they are trying to serve me at isnt my current address it is my ex-husbands house. If it was XXXX XXXX County they would know my address. My ex works from home and said no one has ever been there before and said this is a scam and to report it.

I received a voice message from the number XXXX. It stated that they were trying to reach XXXX XXXX. I am not, nor do I know anyone by this name. The message stated that it was investigator XXXX calling. She said she '' d been asked to contact XXXX XXXX directly to serve a summons and that XXXX should either contact them or fax a stand down order or she would be out with the XXXX XXXX XXXX 's office to serve a summons. She ended the call with, " Thank you and good luck. '' I was directed to call XXXX with case # XXXX. I did call that number and ask to have my phone number removed from their database as I am not XXXX XXXX. They simultaneously insisted it was their process server calling and not them and that they had removed my number. Then XXXX hung up on me. When I attempted to call back to ask to speak to her supervisor, she refused to put me through to anyone else saying she was the highest ranking person there. She called me rude and nasty even though I had not been derogatory towards her, then made some type of comment about feeling sorry for my husband. I do believe that the threatening nature of this call is a violation of fair collection practice. It is also a simple process to verify that they are calling the correct party, and in failing to do so and leaving threatening messages for unintended parties with small children in the home they demonstrated highly irresponsible behavior. I have saved the message and will gladly replay it for any investigators interested in pursuing this further.

on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from a law firm called wilson riley and associates stating that they were going to be filing check fraud charges and take other types of legal action against me because they stated that i had not paid back the loan.
I had paid a collection agency a settlement on the original loan in the amount of {$270.00} in XXXX. Upon talking to a representative of the law firm they told me that they had spoken with the collection agency that was told they had no record of my payment and to avoid being arrested and jailed i must immediately pay them.
They did n't want to see my record showing that i had paid the debt.
On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX they got hostile and hung up on me when i informed them that i was recording the conversation and that under the fair debt collection act they had to send me a letter in the mail containing information related to the debt that they claim i owe.
XXXX and riley is not a legitimate law firm or a debt collector and upon further research other people have had similar experiences with these people.
the number they are calling from is a XXXX michigan number but they claim to be in new york. their number is XXXX XXXX XXXX.
also on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX they called my brother from another number and stated that they had warrants out for my arrest related to the issue stated above.

My husband received a phone call from an " unknown '' number the week of XXXX/XXXX/16. He did not answer and they left a voicemail stating they were looking for myself. They used my maiden name ( I 've been married for 4 years ) and they stated they need to serve me a summons. They stated I need to call them back and ask to speak to the arbitration unit and reference a summons number ( which they provided in the voicemail ). She said if I do not call them back, " I will come to your home and your job to serve an arrest warrant ''. This lady also called my father and my brother, both who live out of state. The following week I received 5 calls, all within a matter of 2 minutes, from the same unknown number with a voicemail saying the same thing as above. I feel very threatened by this. I only have XXXX things on my credit report that need paying on, all of which I am doing so and have been in communication with those companies. I do not know what this is in regards to, and I am not going to call them back. I googled the phone # and there are many complaints from this company from other people. They call you and threaten to have you arrested by coming to your home or place of employment. This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Wilson Riley and associates called and threatened to have a warrant issued and to sue me over a debt from XXXX or XXXX they curse at you called my ex wife and threatened her with the same even though at that time we have been divorced over 5 plus years. One man called and stated he was an investigator with the state of California. I have voice mails verifying the tactics they use and can forward it as I saved it. Wilson Riley and associates have called numerous times, we agreed to pay off the original amount and the XXXX payment was late as we were loading it on a card then we received another threatening call about a sheriff coming to our door with a warrant and that I will be sued and charged with wire fraud because we declined a wire transfer between states. They also said our agreement was null and void a d that my info was erased from their system, but on XXXX XXXX, XXXX they took out {$110.00}, so XXXX payments that are unauthorized were taking out, going by their words nothing should have been touched.

I have received numerous phone calls at work from Wilson, Riley and Associates at XXXX leaving messages that I need to call back immediately or face legal repercussions. I do not have bad credit or any outstanding debts. I called back and the male that answered the phone was very rude and disrespectful. I told him not to call me at work, I am not XXXX XXXX and I was going to report him for contacting me. He said he is within his rights to contact me and to have fun trying to file a complaint. I do not want this company calling me and harassing me at work. I could lose my job for having personal phone calls like this. My job also does credit checks and my good credit is dependent on me keeping my job. This is creating a stressful unnecessary hardship for me.

Originally I received call from Wilson, Rilley, and Associates stating charges were pending against me in XXXX XXXX county and unless debt resolved I would be served by sheriff at my place of work or home. I made payment arrangements however the amount due of debt kept changing and when I requested record of payments it was more than originally advised. I later received call advising since a payment was declined they would have their attorney reinstate original charges against me and add additional charge of declining a charge over state lines. Later I receivea another voice mail claiming they were from County service and I wld be served at work for charge against me within 48 hours unless I contacted the plantiff.
