On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Wilbur and Associates XXXX from Illinois stating that I owe a debt of {$2200.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The letter stated that I had been involved in an accident or vehicle that was registered in my name had been involved in an accident on XX/XX/XXXX in XXXX, KY. I had contacted the agency, Wilbur and Associates to inform them that they had the wrong person. They had given me information about the accident including the name of the driver, the vehicle make and model, and the person that the car was registered to at the time. Wilbur and Associates said that XXXX XXXX had given them my name ( maiden name ) and address information. The representative asked for my phone number and said that she will follow up with me in a few days. Next, I called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I spoke to multiple representatives regarding the claim number that was listed on the letter XXXX. I was told that same information that was given to me by Wilbur and Associates, except that my maiden name and info was not included. I had asked the representative where did they get my name and address information from. The representative was puzzled as well because the person who caused the accident and the person that the car was registered to was already listed and did not include my name. After further research, the representative said that the registered owner said that she had sold the car and only had a telephone number which was an Ohio number starting with XXXX. She said they found that the telephone number was listed under my maiden name and they decided to pursue this person with the same name as my maiden name. I explained to the State Farm representative that I do not know the individuals involved in this claim, I never owned a XXXX XXXX XXXX, I never lived in Ohio, I was not involved in any accident, and that they have the wrong person. They said that they were going to contact Wilbur and Associates and let them know this information and to remove my information from their system. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX-I received a phone call from Wilbur and Associates trying to collect on the debt. I asked them if they had the information from our previous call on file-the representative was still trying to collect on the debt as if I had said nothing-I had became very angry-the rep said she will remove my phone number and hung up. I called back to speak to their compliance department-I was told that they will let them know what s going on and they hung up on me. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX back today, I was transferred three times and spoke with a representative. She said that she will tell them not to call me anymore. I told her that they have the wrong person and to remove my address as well. She said all she can do is tell them not to call me any more. I am being harassed and scammed by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and Wilbur and Associates XXXX. I explained to them that they have the wrong person and they are not trying to correct the issue. It doesn't make sense about how they were pursuing a name from a phone number and attempted to find information about this person to try to sue them. Especially, when I am not the person that they are supposedly looking for.
