I received a check in the mail for a loan that said We are here to help through the pandemic.. I am a single mom of a XXXX yr old so XXXX is getting expensive and it was right after the new year when all the bills were coming in. All was fine until it came time to make my first payment on XX/XX/2022. I called and they asked for my bank account number. I asked if they could take a debit card payment and they stated they did not offer that type of payment option because of the cost. I told them I was not giving them my account number and would they take a cashiers check because I do not have regular checks. They agreed and I told them I would bring it in the next day. I did some research online because the most used form of payment these days is credit or debit so it just sounded odd to me and I couldnt find much except no rating with the XXXX. Well I work at a doctors office and I let time go by because of staffing issues and honestly I felt it was a scam. Even though I got the money I felt they wanted access to my bank account. Fast forward to XXXX and XXXX I speak to XXXX XXXX a few more times and apologize for it slipping my mind and Ill be in to make the payment, as I do with my other XXXX loans from XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX there is a freeze on my account, no warning, no citation, nothing! I cant pay my rent, my car payment, food for my son. My checks are direct deposited into that account and I cant touch it even if I paid the entire balance. I have no money to get gas to get to work! No wage garnishment? I called my bank and they say their hands are tied. I call the company and he basically laughs in my face. I cant even buy a dollar cheeseburger! Can lenders just do that? Im not disputing the money I owe but I got no warning no time to work out making payments and have lost everything. Thank you

UDAAP issue - XXXX at Westview Financial in XXXX, VA communicated that if I make a payment on XX/XX/2019 that was due on XX/XX/2019 that it would report to the credit bureau late and have a negative impact on my credit. XXXX expressed that because the payment is due in XXXX and I am making a payment in XXXX, this would hurt my credit. I expressed that the earliest I could make a payment would be XX/XX/2019 due to personal issues and the payment would not be 30 days late. She continued to state that if I did not make a payment then I would have a negative mark on my credit. She then continued on to say if I deferred a payment then that would help my credit. I did not believe that to be true. I believe that deferring payments will make my loan term longer and would add additional interest. She became highly annoyed when I referenced the FDCPA and continued to tell me that I would need to defer a payment in order to avoid a negative impact on my credit. I believe this to be misleading.
