I Received a call from Western Merchantile in XXXX XXXX Oregon 2 1/2 months ago.
Talked to a XXXX who informed me that I had a medical bill from 15-17 years ago.
I told her that was very odd considering how old it was and how we just paid off all of our medical bills with XXXX. I told her when we did we specifically asked them if there were anymore bills with them. They informed us we were clear!
When XXXX called about this bill, I informed her, in the 15-17 years, this is the very first time I have ever made aware of this medical bill!
I do not have a clue what it was for, nothing.
She wanted to collect . I told her I was going through a divorce and work was slow I wasnt working. I had nothing!!!
I told her the monies I had, I have a XXXX year old daughter that I have custody that I have to think about & keep a roof over her head.
XXXX then informed me she would call me back in 3 months to see where I was at and arrange a payment plan.
I went to use my debit card on XX/XX/19 at a grocery store having {$1300.00} in my checking account. My card was denied do to insufficient funds. I had another card from an account that had a bit of $ left in it that was the joint account from when I was married. I used it and it too was denied due too insufficient funds..
I looked at my bank account and it said western merchantile {$1100.00}.
I contacted my bank first thing XX/XX/19 and they had informed me that western merch. Had garnished my account.
This has come to surprise to me as I had not received 1 phone call nor did I receive 1 letter in the mail.
XXXX did not call me To set up any payment plan like she agreed.
I had written checks to pay my rent, my power bill. Those checks obviously are no good now due to her taking my money from my checking account without notice. I have been penalized for the checks by my bank. I have also been charged {$120.00} in garnishment fees by my bank, leaving me with a negative balance and no monies to pay for my daughters medications!
I want something done about this as it was crooked the way Weatern Merchantile went about this!!!!
I know NOTHING about this medical bill!!!

After being contacted by Western Mercantile regarding medical debt and learning my husband was being garnished for a debt, I requested complete verification of all debts they claimed to belong to me. I requested to receive all information I am entitled to to assist me in verifying the debt and specifically requested a complete accounting ledger of each debt that included all information I am entitled to as a consumer ( name of the original creditor, associated account number, itemization of the current amount of the debt that reflects interest, fees, payments, and credits since a particular date that you may be able to recognize or verify with records, current amount of the debt as of when the validation notice is provided, etc. I was instead mailed a basic list of each debt amount with account numbers and original creditor names. I again contacted Western Mercantile to request the complete itemization of each debt per the Debt Collection Rule that became effective XX/XX/XXXX and was repeatedly told I was provided all the information they were required to provide but that they would 'put my accounts back in dispute ' and send me another copy of what I had already received for verification of the debts. The next verification document I received following that call differed from the first as the debts were not consistent with the first validation document and I still was not provided any itemization. I called again to ask about this and was told by XXXX that they were not required to provide anything else. I asked her to provide all open account numbers they had listed as my debts and the current balances and the information provided was also inconsistent with the letter I had received just two weeks prior. I again asked for a complete itemization of each debt and was told again that I had already been provided all information I am entitled to for verification purposes however multiple accounts have balances significantly higher than the documentation they provided for those accounts.

Western Mercantile located in XXXX XXXX, Oregon XX/XX/2021. The phone representative told me I have 3 unpaid accounts with XXXX XXXX Hospital. I said ok how much? She told me I owed {$1000.00}. So I gave her my debit card information and paid in full. Which the funds were immediately taken from my checking account. I asked for a receipt and detailed invoice including account numbers and a receipt for funds paid. She refused. I then asked to speak to her manager. I got the owner instead. The owner stated to me she couldn't send me a receipt because the funds need to process. Huh? It was directly taken out of my account while on the phone. I asked for a receipt on letter head. If she can just type that out and mail it to me. She refused. She told me that it was against their company policy to mail receipt and invoices. I am going to dispute payment with my bank. This business is a scam. They didn't even offer me a dispute resolution. Just took my money and refused to give me a receipt. After I told her she was practicing her collection business illegally. She said you can send me a self addressed stamped envelope. She would get it to me if she had the information. Which wouldn't be available till 10 business days. I told her you stole my money on false pretenses. Asking for a detailed receipt of payment on 3 separate accounts is not unreasonable. She refused yelled at me and hung up. This business needs to be shut down. I was litterly robbed. Just robbed and treated like junk. All I did was ask for a detailed invoice and receipt of money paid.

My wife had a small XXXX XXXX on her XXXX and did not pay the full amount to Dr because we were not able because of my spouse had to go on leave of absence because of a XXXX XXXX needing XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX this year.My spouse is a veteran and tried to get help from the va because of a XXXX XXXX due to damages inflicted by military service.However this request is still in appeal the collection agency Western Mercantile Agency , Inc XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX or XXXX XXXX ph XXXX sent me a letter stating i owe {$690.00} plus {$100.00} dollars in intrerest for a total of {$790.00} dollars Stating that i have 20 days from XXXX-18 to pay in full or they will take legal action if so i would pay attorney fees and court cost.They also stated that interest would compound as long as debt was not paid.At the time of this letter i only work part time at XXXX XXXX and my spouse is on medical leave and only draws social security.I tried calling this agency this morning XXXX-18 and got no answer.can you help me?

Western Merchantile Served my wife At her work with a court summons for a debt. she agreed to garnishment. They followed up by falsely delivering the summons post the signed date to her other old places of employ for a set amount per fake attempt. After garnishments began they over garnished the final payment XXXX XXXX we immediately contacted them to inform them of the error. We were told we would receive the funds in one to two months, which was now almost 5 years ago. They now started harassing phone calls attempting to collect an almost 11 year old debt for less than they owe us. I have attempted to pay the Companies that the debts originated with that We did business with and they are not allowed to take the money. Which means the debt has been purchased by western mercantile, which they also deny. But if they don't own the debt, my original debtors would be able to take the money. They are a cancerous stain on our community and their business practices are in need of real scrutiny.

I sold a vehicle to an individual approximately XXXX year ago and the buyer never registered the vehicle into his name. The trailer park were said individual lived had the vehicle towed from the property by XXXX XXXX XXXX western mercantile insists the debt is mine, however I have a Bill of sale from the transaction. I sent an email of the bill of sale to western Mercantile agency And they said that the signatures do not match which is not true, the buyer and seller signed the bill in front of XXXX another and the buyer will attest to the transaction. This is not my bill and I provided proof to no avail. The owner of the towed vehicle is responsible for this debt, not myself. I do not live at the address it was towed from not have I ever lived at said address.

XXXX17 received phone call after paying {$3000.00} to the agency that i owed another {$16.00}, I said i would take care of it online, a week later they called back and then called my husband asking for the {$16.00} payment. Pushing for me to pay over the phone that day. I paid it. Previously to all this, I set up payments which I paid as per the agreement, but only after I was forced into providing them my bank statements and other documents not necessary to set up payments, I told them the amount I was comfortable paying and they argued with me with unreasonable payment amounts. I felt threatened that if I did n't agree to them they would garnish my or my husband 's paychecks even though we made payments each month and even sometimes twice per month.

I have been repeatedly harassed by Western Merchantile Agency in XXXX XXXX Oregon for a debt that is not mine. They have contacted me multiple times via mail, which I have called each time and informed them they have the wrong person. They call me insistently and every time I inform them they have the wrong person. Finally, after months of harassment, I asked for them to send me documentation of this debt showing why this was mine. The information they sent me showed a different last name, different middle initial, different address, birthday, and everything. Only thing the same was the phone number, which is fairly new to me in the last couple years, which I let them know and they still refuse to stop calling and contacting me.

A debt occurred in my name only on XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX my debts, including this one was discharged in Bankruptcy court in Oregon. in approx. XX/XX/XXXX I received a collection letter for the XX/XX/XXXX debt. I sent them a letter stating the debt was discharged. The Doctors office sent another collection letter, via a collection agency, to my wife who was not a patient of the doctor and was only listed as another person living in the household. She has never signed any agreement or been in the doctors office at all.
We sent a letter telling the collection agency that the bill was not her 's.
The collection agency sent a threat of legal action letter in response.

Western Mercantile Agency INC of XXXX XXXX Oregon. They call me about unpaid medical bills. I pay the XXXX in full with a bank debit card. Western Mecrcantile refuses to email a receipt or send a receipt via USPS, offered a receiptif I drove 16 moles to their office.. I drive to their office and spoke with the supposed Director named XXXX. She also refused to give me a receipt, stating the debit card had not deposited the funds. My vank states the funds were debited from my account. I was refused proof of payment by Western mecantile.
