I received a call in XX/XX/2018 from Western Benefits Group claiming that in order to be part of the income driven repayment program I would have to go through this company. Was informed I'd have to pay a start up fee ( around XXXX dollars ), and then XXXX dollars a month for the life time of the loan to keep the benefits or I'd have to pay the full amount monthly, I was also told I'd have forgiveness through this program after 10 years of on time payments- which was a lie. I was informed recently that it does not cost anything to be in loan forgiveness programs and I was FOOLED into giving this company a start up fee and a monthly fee for 4 YEARS. I'm grateful my loan servicer called me and asked me about this information or they would have robbed me forever. IN ADDITION, when i talk to western benefits group rep, he had NO RECORDS of paying a start up fee, put me on hold to look for the info and came back to tell me he couldn't find it.

In roughly XXXX of 2015 my mother and I registered with this company to handle my student loan account that had gone into deferment status. Anytime I spoke to their customer service they seemed extremely legitimate and we have thought so for OVER three years. We were told to pay an up front fee of I believe either {$250.00} or {$300.00}, and then my monthly student loan payment was {$59.00} for the first 24 mos, and it was then lowered to {$39.00}. I have paid nearly {$2300.00} to this company to handle my student loans-to only now find out that according to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NONE of this money has gone towards my student loans, and I am now in delinquent status. I was also made aware that this company created an account for me with XXXX XXXX XXXX under a username I would never have created-which is identity theft.

I went to refinance my student loans to an income based plan. I went through the third party Western Benefits Group. I was led to believe that they would negate my monthly payments and my fees toward WBG were towards my loan. However, it appears that the {$35.00} a month I've been paying them are going towards a membership fee and not the loan. I would like to leave WBG but when I call there is no answer. I have no debt to them and should not owe anything since my student loans are officially through XXXX.

I set up a consolidation re payment plan through Western Benefits group and come to find out it is a free service from my loan provider XXXX XXXX XXXX. Western Benefits required an upfront payment of two installments of approximately {$300.00} each than {$35.00} a month following those two payments. I signed up in 2015 and have paid approx. {$1800.00} to this fraudulent company with no benefit from it what so ever. Please be advised and call your loan provider. This company is a SCAM!!

WESTERN BENEFITS WAS HIRED ON MY BEHALF TO PROCESS A FORBEARANCE WITH XXXX XXXX.
I WAS NOTIFIED BY WESTERN BENEFITS THAT AN INCORRECT SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER HAD BEEN SUBMITTED, ( NOT BY MYSELF ) AND THAT IT WAS SMALL PROBLEM THAT WOULD BE FIXED QUICKLY AND NOT TO MAKE ANY PAYMENTS TO XXXX XXXX.
I FOLLOWED THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. NO APPLICATION WAS SUBMITTED ON MY BELF. MY ACCOUNT WAS 90 DAYS LATE AND I AM UNABLE TO HAVE THAT NEGATIVE REMARK REMOVED.
