XXXX XXXX XXXX I have insurance, and at the time of medical bill I was also low income. XXXX assigned a bill that is not mine to Merchants Credit. XXXX never offered me any payment options or help. When I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX, they told me there was nothing they could do because they sold my information to Merchants Credit. I asked them to provide me proof and why they sold a debt off in my name when it was not mine. They said they already collected money from Merchants Credit and that there is nothing they can do because it was closed on their end and that I would have to resolve the issue on my own. I told them at the time I was low income and did not have any money and also that I have insurance so I should not have any debt. They said there was nothing I could do and that I would have to work it out with Merchants credit even if it is not my debt. I believe XXXX XXXX is selling off bills that have medical coverage to gain additional money from collection agencies. To me this is a scam and a way to make extra money off of Washington residents. I believe they are targeting low income individuals because XXXX feels they are easy victims. This in unethical and has wide range of implication on families in low income that are already struggling to pay bills and put food on the table. These types of practices put up additional barriers that affect families in purchasing cars obtaining rental leases, and even jobs. This is not ok and XXXX should not be allowed to get away with this. Merchants Credit : This is not my debt. I have asked Merchant 's Credit to provide proof that this is my debt. like a paper with my signature and they have only given me a document that shows my current address on a bill, that is dated for 2016, which I resided at another address in 2016. Thus it is not the original bill. Further they have not provided me with any proof that this is my bill. No signature and no documents. This looks like it is a bill from XXXX XXXX. I have insurance. I have called them multiple times telling them this is not my bill and to provide proof. They will not provide proof, and they will not stop sending me collection letters. They kept posting this bill to my credit report that caused major issues in my life because it looked like I was being ir-responsible and affected my credit report. When asked why they are sending me bills and posting to my credit report when this is not my bill and they can not provide proof, they said they do not know, all they know is that they have my name and I have to pay them. I need help because this is not my bill and they keep sending me letters, for a bill that is not mine. I feel they are I have sent letters that have said I dispute the validity of the debt in the above-reference account, and would like verification from you of the obligation, the amount owed, and proof of a valid assignment of the debt from the original creditor to you. Please send me copies of all documents related to this debt including, but not limited to, court judgments or other orders, contracts, billing statements, account records, invoices, receipts, cancelled checks and correspondence. In addition, please detail all costs and interest charges owed, the dates incurred, and all amounts paid on the account. Send all of the requested documents to me at the address listed below. I am also exercising my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C 1692, and demand that you cease all communication with me, my family members and all other third persons. They have not honored any of this. This is unfair an unethical to post debts to peoples accounts without proof. The actions of Merchants Credit has caused grave consequences in my life that go far beyond this bill alone. They need to remedy and fix their issues. Please help me. Thank you! Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Merchants Credit Association XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, WA XXXX XXXX, WA XXXX To whom this concerns, I recently applied for a Home Mortgage and in doing so received a copy of my Credit Report. Contained in that report were certain accounts that I disputed with all three of the Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX. Here Im speaking specifically to the information being reported as : account # XXXX. Where in the XXXX Investigation Results youll see that the account now reads : THIS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN UPDATED. THE FOLLOWING FIELDS HAVE BEEN MODIFIED : *ADDITIONAL INFORMATION *STATUS DATE *BALANCE DATE. This letter speaks directly to these features as theyre currently appearing in this, along with other, credit reports. Additional Furnishers ' Duties Under the FACT-Act ; 312 of the FACT-Act expands furnishers ' affirmative duties concerning the accuracy and integrity of the information they furnish, contains a provision that allows consumers to file disputes directly with the furnishers, and specifies the procedures furnishers must follow in responding to direct disputes. Under the regulations implementing this provision, when a consumer files a direct dispute, a furnisher is required to investigate if the dispute relates to any of the following issues : ( 1 ) the consumer 's liability for a credit account or other debt with the furnisher ; ( 2 ) the terms of a credit account or other debt with the furnisher ; Here I require Merchants Credit to produce and provide the evidence of this Updated information. Along with, and in comparison to, the information provided in the Credit Report furnished by XXXX XXXX & XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX and delivered to my Mortgage Lender, XXXX XXXX. ( See copies ). Clearly Merchants Credit verified this new information to the satisfaction of XXXX. Here I require that you Verify this altered and adjusted information to and for me, the Consumer, as well. As they are clearly not equal to the original information as provided to my Mortgage Lender. These certainly are not inconsequential Updates as they clearly describe the consumers liability in their Status Date & Balance Date along with Additional Information status. Failure to respond according to this request will result in my turning my attention away from the Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies. Directing it to the Washington State Department of Licensing. Who Im assured will do a Complete & Comprehensive Review of your failure to perform under the Federal & State Laws where and how they are applicable. This is the letter I sent describing my situation : I recently received a letter from " Merchants Credit Association '' saying that XXXX of my bills from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX went to collections. I never received these bills and they were never paid for by my insurance company. I am writing to dispute the following information in my file. I have circled the items I dispute on the attached copy of the report I received. These item, : Account : XXXX Date : XXXX/XXXX/XXXX Payments : {$420.00} Account : XXXX Date : XXXX/XXXX/XXXX Amount : {$53.00} After digging around all day and speaking with someone from the XXXX XXXX XXXX billing department, I am still unaware of what the bills were for, as the billing person I spoke to ( XXXX ) had no information on the bills sent to collections and had little help to offer me. She basically told me that she could not help me. After speaking to her for some time, it was determined that the billing address you had on file for me at that time was the following : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, WA XXXX, However, my mailing address has been the following since XXXX ( which can be seen in my attached credit report and Alaska XXXX reports since XXXX ) : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, AK XXXX In addition, my insurance only had XXXX claim from XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX, dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. A copy of this claim is attached. As it turns out, the billing company not only had my incorrect billing address, but they also had my incorrect insurance information, none of which I knew about until yesterday when I opened my letter from Merchants Credit Association ( account number : XXXX ). I am requesting that the items be removed from my credit report ( which will also be contested to the Federal Credit Bureau ), correct the information, and rebilled to the correct insurance company ( XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX, PayorID XXXX ). I more than anything want this to be paid, but will not do so until I have the written assurance it will be removed from my credit report, as this was at the fault of the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX billing department and not mine. I have also filed a claim with the XXXX, which will be resolved once I have in writing that this has been taken care of. I am also requesting a detailed report of the services associated with the above dates.

Real simple case here that XXXX and Merchants Credit Association has ignored. This is about a {$88.00} bill that I can easily pay BUT I refuse to since XXXX incorrectly billed me and Merchants Credit Association ignored my response to their letter where I clearly disputed the validity of this alleged debt. Details : - My family and I rented a house and XXXX supplied garbage and recycle services. - My family and I moved out at the end of XX/XX/XXXX. - During early XX/XX/XXXXwe contacted all the utility companies and told them we had moved out. - XXXX kept billing us so I called and disputed the billing. - The owner of the house also called XXXX and he was told that there was no outstanding bill. - Fast forward a few months and I get another bill from XXXX. I again called and disputed such. This time they asked for proof of us moving. I happily emailed them the official USPS address change confirmation. - I hear nothing from XXXX for several months until I get a collection letter from Merchants Credit Association out of XXXX, WA - I obviously dispute the Merchants Credit Association attempt to collect a debt. I include the USPS email showing our change of address confirmation as well as a letter from the owner of the house stating that we moved out and that the bill is his not ours. - A few months go by and I hear nothing from XXXX or Merchants Credit Association BUT I get an email that my Equifax credit report has changed and when I look there is a collection from Merchants Credit Association. How can they get away with adding a silly $ 90+/- collection to my credit report when I clearly disputed this debt? I have the ability to pay the silly {$90.00} but since I do not owe this bill I chose not to pay it. Now it has cost me several hours of work and stress! Merchants Credit Association is probably gambling that I will just give up and pay a bill/debt that I do not owe due to the incredible hassle to prove I do not owe it. WRONG! - I will pay a lawyer {$1000.00} to clear this up before I pay XXXX and Merchants Credit Association for their obvious mistakes. I have received calls on an almost daily basis from XXXX XXXX XXXX about a debt I should not owe. In the fall of XXXX, I was injured playing a XXXX Volleyball for my university- XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX PA. Since my insurance ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) was based in WA and I attended school in PA, my insurance recommended I go to the ER so that I could be covered for an XXXX if the doctor deemed it necessary, which they did. I have the documents from the Doctor explaining his thoughts on the injury. The Hospital administrator was on the phone with XXXX XXXX XXXX trying to get the authorization that night but they assured him it would get covered eventually and a few days later it was cleared so I got both tests done. A month later, I was injured again and my insurance decided they would not cover the new XXXX and were going to back out of paying the first one too. Since I had secondary insurance as an athlete ( Through XXXX XXXX XXXX ) I submitted my claims to both ( XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX ) so that XXXX XXXX could deny it and then provide an EOB so XXXX XXXX XXXX could Approve the coverage. The Hospital ( XXXX XXXX ) refused or chose not to bill my insurance in the proper order, meaning that I had to call several times a week ( including calls to XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX ) to try to get it sorted out. After months of calling, they were able to properly bill my primary and secondary insurance on some smaller charges but still did not do that for the larger amount, regardless of how many times I called. Each of the places I called would all point to the other as the source of the error. For about 6-8 months I did not receive any communication from the Hospital and assumed the bills had finally been distributed properly. Apparently the Hospital decided to send my debt to a collector without my knowledge even though they were at fault for not billing the insurance in the proper order, which I gave them numerous times. Now I get pestered by XXXX for a large bill I should n't even owe. They have told me that it will damage my credit multiple times and have even found a way to contact my family members without my permission or knowledge.

Merchant 's Credit Association XXXX I owe medical debt from XXXX XXXX. I had made a payment and was paying it off. I did not receive follow up bills/reminders in mail and Covid had happened which sent us all reeling. I had checked my credit report as it had gone down and I was surprised. I did then get a bill in the mail. I tried to pay online and by phone MULTIPLE times but it kept saying my packet number was wrong. Also, the collector did start calling me and we missed one another every time. I had left on the recording the issues with my packet # and not being able to pay through the portal and to please leave me the info on VM if I can't answer. He did not. I just spoke with a supervisor ( who was rude ) and was on hold to speak with a higher staff member when I was discounted. The supervisor told me that XXXX XXXX bills can not be paid by phone or web portal. THAT IS NOT LISTED ANYWHERE on the bill nor had been stated AT ANY TIME. I have been working on my credit for years and this XXXX $ bill just brought it down significantly when I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PAY. Now, I just spent 20 min on the phone with them trying to get to the bottom of why I couldn't pay by phone nor web and was disconnected. I just left yet another message for the person ( maybe the 10x I've called ). I WANT TO PAY THIS BILL. THis should not be reflected on my credit score as payment has not been accessible. The collector who I was speaking to when he asked his supervisor to come speak with me, he sid, " I have a consumer who's hot right now. '' Can you help me? * A note that mail in our area has been stolen this past year especially with the homeless situation and Covid. Many issues of theft and burglary. Thank you, XXXX XXXX

I have been receiving several phone calls from XXXX which I have found to belong to Merchants Credit Association ( http : //www.merchantscredit.com/ ) that I have never answered. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a phone call from them at XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. During that phone call, I answered and simply said " Please do not contact this number again. '' I do believe this was recorded, as it was an incoming call placed to my cell phone. They would have record of this. I hung up on the phone call and I assume they must have heard my request, as I quickly received an alert that something on my Credit Report had changed the next day, and it looks the amount they were attempting to collect was reported as owed and delinquent. Since then, I have received several calls from this debt collector since then, even after I have explicitly told them to NOT contact me at this number. My phone history shows two attempts on XX/XX/XXXX from them, not even a minute apart on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX PST. I believe this to be harassment.

Merchants Credit Association again closed my complaint Case # XXXX/ XXXX without resolving it. I have talked to them many times earlier and they are not willing to help. I had uploaded documents which clearly shows that I received a bill from Merchants Credit Association stating there is a due of {$200.00} on account XXXX and I have made payment of {$200.00} to Merchants Credit Association already. This is false reporting by Merchants Credit Association. I have never request to apply that amount to any other account. My payment of {$200.00} should be applied to account # XXXX. They are still charging me interest on the paid account number XXXX which is inappropriate. I am attaching documents again which show due amount on account number XXXX and my payment amount. This should make it clear.

The lady I spoke to immediately started making statements such as what your wife doesnt work?, you are over doing your self financially, etc. when in fact nobody predicts a medical bill typically and why would she say things when she has no idea what she is talking about and it is personal information and for her to treat me like that is completely unacceptable. If someone is trying to do the right thing then why on earth would they want to make you not want to pay them and tolerate their abuse? No I dont want this on my credit but I dont deserve to be treated that way when i just want to take care of my debt.

I have outstanding bill with XXXX XXXX in XXXX . The bill started at XXXX I have been making payments to the account. The hospital has received several notices from my insurance company asking them to fix documentation and send new documents. The hospital used the incorrect coding. I have tried myself and keep getting the run around. My insurance company is XXXX . Hospital sent me to collection without any notice for a bill that I have been making small payments on. I have called medical records and you can only leave a message. I have gone down to the office and they always seem to be away and you can not speak to anyone. This is no the first time I have had a billing issue with this hospital.

I called the XXXX credit card company immediately when I found out that a credit card was issued in my name. I told them it was identity theft/ fraud which they told me they wrote down and would take care of it since it wasn't me. They said they would get rid of the card and I would not be liable cause it was fraud/identity theft. I did this about 2 months ago. They told me not to worry and that the credit card with {$5100.00} would go away cause it is fraud. I was shocked to see that they sent it to collections and on my credit reports as I had already taken care of the situation with them. They told me they reported it as fraud and I was to no longer worry about it.

Date is XX/XX/2018 Gave verbal communication that I was disputing the debt. XXXX XXXX proceeded to tell me that it not valid and it has to be in writing. I requested the address to send in written documentation and he responded with a poor attitude. Telling me that they already sent valid information about the date. I suggested that nothing was received and if they sent anything it was only a Dunning Notice. I asked him to change his tone or manner he is handling the call. Then requested a manager. He only sent me to a supervisor. The supervisor said they had no managers on staff they are gone for the day. I also informed her of my dispute of said debt.

I received an inaccurate medical bill ( the medical code was wrong and more expensive, wanted it corrected before paying ) and the billing department has not returned calls for months, I havent received any bill nor an updated bill in close to a year ( last statement was from XX/XX/20 and still incorrect and still not returning my phone calls ). They now are submitting that bill to collections. This is fraudulent that they are trying to bill and collect on a medical service I did not receive and not even returning my calls to work with me on correcting the bill so they can collect on it.
