In XX/XX/XXXX I reserved a XXXX XXXX ( or similar sub-compact vehicle ) online from the XXXX XXXX XXXX at the XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX for XXXX XXXX, XXXX. When I arrived to pick it up, I was told there was no XXXX XXXX available, so the XXXX employees gave me a XXXX XXXX ( California license plate # XXXX ) in lieu of the XXXX XXXX. When I was given the keys to the XXXX XXXX the XXXX employes did not review the condition of the vehicle with me, they did not accompany me to the garage, and they did not provide me with a prior damage form. The XXXX XXXX had several scratches/denting along the passenger side of the truck as well as some denting along the tailgate when I received it. Because of this I took photos of the outside of the truck while I was still in the airport garage. I returned the XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX XXXX pursuant to the rental contract. The vehicle incurred no damage while I had possession of it. When I returned the XXXX XXXX there was no conversation regarding the scratches and denting on the truck. Instead, one employee scanned the barcode on the truck and sent me an electronic receipt and then I left for my flight. The electronic receipt from XXXX does not reference any damage. I did not receive any notice of any kind from XXXX regarding damage to the XXXX XXXX. After a few months I deleted the photos to clear storage on my cell phone assuming I no longer needed them. I later made several attempts to restore theses photos including calling XXXX trying to recover them via XXXX Photos, by using two different third-party apps that claim they can restore deleted files, and by looking into my phones storage for raw files. Unfortunately, I was unable to recover the photos. On XX/XX/XXXX ( over four months later ), I received a bill from Viking Client Services , LLC informing me that XXXX had referred this matter to them for collections. The bill claimed that I owed {$3300.00} for damages to the truck. Yet I did not damage their truck. I was very surprised by this letter as I had to this point never been contacted by XXXX in anyway. At first, I assumed that this was an error on the part of XXXX XXXX XXXX, so I took the following steps : First, I submitted an online dispute form with Viking Client Services , LLC on XX/XX/XXXX as I was concerned about my credit score being affected by a mistake on XXXX part. Next, I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX via phone on XX/XX/XXXX and informed them that I had received a bill from Viking Client Services , LLC and explained that I did not do any damage to the vehicle and there had been a mistake. After talking with the XXXX representative, he informed me that it was an error on the part of XXXX. I asked him how long it would be before it was resolved with Viking Client Services , LLC and he told me that it would be 48 hours. During that 48-hour period, Viking Client Services , LLC called me, and I missed their phone call. I assumed that Viking Client Services , LLC was calling about a resolution to the situation, so I called them back. Right away Viking Client Services , LLC informed me that they were attempting to collect a debt. I informed Viking Client Services , LLC several times that I did not cause damage to the vehicle. I also asked Viking Client Services , LLC if they had spoken to XXXX XXXX XXXX about the matter, since to this point I was under the impression that XXXX planed to resolve it. After four times of asking the Viking Client Services , LLC representative he informed me that he had not called them. I ended the call to Viking Client Services , LLC as I decided I needed to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX again. I then contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX via phone on XX/XX/XXXX to see if they were in the process of resolving the issue with Viking Client Services , LLC. This time when I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX, they told me that they had no capability to remove me out of the debt collection process. During this phone call the XXXX XXXX XXXX representative informed me that they had photos of the damaged truck. I asked her to send me those photos via email and she did ( this was the first time XXXX XXXX XXXX ever sent me anything suggesting I had damaged their vehicle ). The photos showed the same damage that the vehicle had prior to me renting it. Because the representative said they could not help me I asked for their advice on how I should proceed. They informed me that I could call the local XXXX XXXX XXXX counter at the XXXX XXXX XXXX, and they provided me with the number to call them. I attempted to call the number that they gave me, however it rerouted me back to the national number where again I explained the situation to a third XXXX representative. In this conversation they also informed me that they could not resolve the matter. I received a packet from Viking Client Services , LLC on XX/XX/XXXX by mail which fulfilled the requirement to send me the paperwork from the dispute I filed with them. It contained the initial bill from Viking, my XXXX rental receipt, vehicle repair estimates, photos of the vehicle, an accident/incident report form, and XXXX fastbreak package. Since I felt like I was not making any progress I decided that I should contact XXXX via email where all our communications could be in writing. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent XXXX Customer Service ( XXXX ) an email containing an explanation of the situation and asked them to answer the following questions : 1. Does XXXX have a policy of allowing customers the opportunity to mark any pre-existing damage on vehicles before they rent them? 2. Under what circumstances, if any, are XXXX employees not required to provide customers with the opportunity to mark down any pre-existing damage on a vehicle? 3. Do you have any knowledge as to why I was not afforded the opportunity to mark down the damage on the XXXX XXXX when I received it. 4. What is XXXX standard operating procedure when it discovers damage to a vehicle? 5. Upon discovering damage to a vehicle after it has been returned, does XXXX contact the customer to inform them of the damage and allow them an opportunity to explain, to contact their insurance provider, and/or to deny the accusation of having caused the damage? 6. Do you have any knowledge as to why XXXX never contacted me regarding the damage on the truck? 7. When did XXXX refer this case to Viking Client Services , LLC? 8. Can you verify that there were no XXXX XXXX ( or sub-compact vehicles ) available to rent at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX? 9. Can you provide me with the non-confidential rental records, and any other use, of the XXXX XXXX for the three months preceding XX/XX/XXXX? 10. Do you have any evidence of damage to the XXXX XXXX prior to XX/XX/XXXX? I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. I am in the market to purchase my first home and am concerned that my credit rating will be negatively affected by your mistake. Thus, time is of the essence. I did absolutely no damage to the XXXX XXXX and will not be paying Viking Client Services , LLC any amount. Please contact Viking Client Services , LLC and withdraw this matter. Please contact me at Customer Email if you have any questions of me. I hope to resolve this with you promptly. Thank you for your time and consideration. Before XXXX Claims Management replied, XXXX Customer Service sent the following email : XXXX Case : XXXX Reservation : XXXX Rental Agreement : XXXX Dear CUSTOMER, Thank you for contacting XXXX Customer Service regarding the damage charges on your recent rental. We would like to apologize for any issues or difficulties that you may have experienced during the course of your rental. When a customer rents from XXXX Rent A Car, they have the option to purchase the Extended Roadside Assistance ( RSN ) coverage at the time of rental that will waive additional costs associated with any roadside service provided by our XXXX XXXX XXXX. Customers can also purchase a Loss Damage Waiver ( LDW ) that will waive their responsibility for vehicle damages incurred during an Emergency Roadside event. Our records do not reflect that you purchased either the Extended Roadside Assistance ( RSN ) or the Loss Damage Waiver ( LDW ) that would have waived these costs. Sincerely, XXXX Representative | Customer Service XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX System To date, I have still not received any information from XXXX that addresses my questions, I assume this is because their standard operating procedures were not followed. I am incredibly hesitant to contact Viking Client Services again to resolve the issue as I am not interested in paying for damages on the XXXX XXXX that I did not cause. Unfortunately, XXXX XXXX XXXXr does not seem willing to deal with the matter without referring to some other third-party organization. I am concerned that this will impact my credit score and as I mentioned in my email to XXXX XXXX XXXX, I am trying to buy a house and I am very worried that this will impact my ability to do so. I am very concerned that XXXX XXXX XXXX can send people to collections without ever informing them, this seems very unethical. I will certainly never rent from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and I will always advocate that other people avoid renting from this company unless XXXX can make it right by dropping the charges and removing my name from collections.

I took out a rental from XXXX from XX/XX/2021, to XX/XX/2021. Please refer to the attached Rental Confirmation Contract I made with XXXX for XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2021. I have attached two rental agreements from XXXX, where they fraudulently broke the original One ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) rental agreement into two rental agreements, double charging for taxes/gas/additional days/additional hours. At no point did I bring this vehicle back to XXXX to make an additional contract for the dates of XXXX XXXX. I took out a rental from XXXX from XX/XX/2021, to XX/XX/2021. I brought the vehicle back with a full tank of Gas ( I also stopped at the XXXX right next to the XXXX return center at XXXX XXXX, please refer to the charge from XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX cents that topped off the Gas before bringing it to the XXXX renter return located less than one mile away from this gas station ). I received a call from XXXX on Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX PST from number XXXX Stating that I had not returned the vehicle, and it was showing as outstanding since XX/XX/XXXX. This statement is impossible as the contract I prepaid for on XX/XX/2021. ( Charge as it appears on my billing statement : XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX VA {$2900.00} from my XXXX account ) was for XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/2021. The agent informed me that the XXXX XXXX XXXX location did not finish their paperwork when I took the vehicle out on XXXX XXXX. That I was at no fault, and I would not be charged any additional as I have already prepaid for this vehicle for the dates on my contract of XXXX XXXX XXXX. The agent informed me that this is an error on XXXX XXXX end. The agent informed me that the XXXX location was supposed to update the contract at the 30-day mark on their software backend. This update on their back end would not break the contract into two, it is just re-validating an existing long-term rental. The agent informed that that this is not known to the public, nor needed to be known as this is internal only with no effects to the existing contracts as we have our rental agreement already. I informed the agent that the vehicle had been returned to the XXXX lot on XX/XX/2021, at XXXX am at XXXX XXXX XXXX, where an XXXX Agent scanned the vehicle back into the lot. Since the XXXX XXXX location did not properly fill out the paperwork in time, it resulted in having the vehicle reported as not returned in their system. XXXX made the error of breaking the contracts into two by one of their Agents creating a second contract as additional rental days with a new bill, carried over the remaining balance from my prepay Contract applying it to the contract they fraudulently made, and billed my CC the balance, Instead of validating the existing contract to update on their end after their mistake. Due to XXXX neglecting their responsibility on their XXXX contract, carelessly not checking their paperwork. This resulted in XXXX lazily creating a new contract for XX/XX/XXXX XXXX for extra days, times taxes gas etc XXXX did not fulfill the end of their XXXX contract causing this Fraudulent charge of {$380.00} Breakdown : 1 ) Broke my contract into two ( which I did not approve, nor make any amendments to cause this ) 2 ) Charged {$270.00} for Gas, when the vehicle was returned on a full tank of Gas. 3 ) Charged additional fees and taxes of {$100.00} 4 ) Total fraudulent charges of {$380.00} 5 ) Charged for additional days of the vehicle use per the fraudulent XX/XX/XXXX XXXX contract they created, causing an upcharge in additional taxes and vehicle fees. 6 ) The contract was broken into two since they did not update their paperwork on the 30 day mark, resulting in the vehicle to be reported missing. Thus, when returning the vehicle and scanning the full tank was reported on the Contract on XXXX XXXX XXXX, as they had not finished their paperwork. Then, Instead of validating my contract as they were supposed to, they decided to create a new one as additional days rented on contract XXXX XXXX, causing upcharges. Please look at the contract JXXXX XXXX XXXX where it says the Gas tank was " returned '' full, and they marked the contract as Gas full. Then when I returned the vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX, The Gas was left blank on the fraudulent second contract of XXXX XXXX, causing an upcharge and thus charge on my XXXX account. I believe they marked the Gas as full when I returned the vehicle ( XX/XX/XXXX ) on their fraudulent contract of XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. Created a second contract from XXXX XXXX as additional add on rental days due to lack of completing their paperwork and contractual obligations to the customer. If the paperwork were done correctly and on time on XXXX XXXX side per their XXXX terms, the contract would reflect the correct dates of XXXX XXXX, which would have reflected when they scanned the car in and entered the gas amount not causing any further charges. The vehicle was never brought back to any XXXX location on the Fraudulent return date of their contract starting/ending on XX/XX/2021. XXXX uses vehicle tracking software Which if you were to ask for, you would see the vehicle was never brought back to any XXXX location on XX/XX/XXXX, as they are marking as a second contract. The vehicle had been prepaid with the contract dates from XXXX XXXX XXXX, with all fees/taxes included. Please pay close attention to the dates/mileages etc., on their two contracts as they do not add up ; this was a fraudulent charge on behalf of XXXX for failing to do their paperwork on their end. I disputed the charge with XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2021 with the above description for the reason of the dispute. XXXX XXXX ruled in favor with me for the dispute against XXXX on XX/XX/2021. XXXX had more than ample time to dispute this charge and provide paperwork to XXXX, which they did not. Immediately after XXXX XXXX ruled in my favor XXXX sent a bill to me for the amount and the amount to collections.

First let me say my husband and I rented from XXXX twice this year for a month each. We joined the XXXX XXXX program and had a lot of points. At first the person I spoke to told us I could use those since we are married, but since only one name can go on the card, and we had my husband 's name on the reservation, they would not honor the points even though we were both listed at drivers. OK, we accepted that. On XX/XX/XXXX I reserved and paid for a car rental through XXXX with the XXXX confirmation number XXXX for pickup at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX - in terminal on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I flew to XXXX for a few days with XXXX friends to visit a friend who moved to Washington. I booked the car through XXXX a month before- prepaid. All fees and taxes were supposed to be included. When we went to pick up the car I handed the girl at the desk the paperwork and she tried to sell us up on everything. I told her I did not want insurance because it was covered with the card I was using and she asked if I wanted the extra collision. I declined ( since it is already covered by my own auto insurance ) She tried to get us to purchase the gas through them saying it was much cheaper than at the gas stations. I declined that knowing from experience that was probably not the case. She told us to get the prepaid tolls for {$11.00} per day ( plus 17.8 % tax ) because there were tolls all over XXXX and they were {$20.00} each. We were driving out of XXXX to see our friend and knew we would be crossing the XXXX XXXX the next day, so thought maybe this was OK and ordered that. ( note, there aren't tolls all over XXXX, in fact none, and we took XXXX over the bridge, so never had a single toll. ) They charged {$130.00} ( + 17.8 % ) tax for insurance but the way it was explained it sounded like the charge for the car rental and that the insurance was " waived ''. The charge was called a " damage waiver '' and I had waived the coverage. I even checked with hotwire when I got back to find out why the charge was so different. XXXX also charged a {$20.00} ( + 17.8 % tax ) " concession fee recovery '' which should have been included in the hotwire reservation. The total upcharges on what was supposed to be {$310.00} all included, were an additional {$230.00}! When I realized they were charging me in addition to my hotwire payment, I called XXXX. But XXXX called back about the dispute and said since I had signed the paperwork they handed me at the counter they would do nothing. I filed a dispute with my credit card companyXXXX XXXX XXXX for the insurance only, because I was very clear about that with the girl at the desk. ( This credit card is the one that covers the rental car insurance. ) I paid the other charges even though they were misrepresented because I understood what those were for. I also sent a complaint to the FTC and the Washington State Attorney General office explaining this issue. On XX/XX/XXXX I spoke to XXXX at XXXX XXXX who said that the merchant had accepted the dispute and we do not owe anything more. She said XXXX XXXX would send a confirmation letter about this in the next 3 days. On XXXX I received a letter from stating that the dispute was now closed and that the tempory credit to my account was now permanent. XXXX XXXX credited back the amount I disputed for the insurance which was {$160.00} including tax. Aproximately XXXX I requested that XXXX XXXX email the letter that stated that the merchants bank had accepted my claim. I received in on XXXX XXXX We received another bill saying that {$160.00} was 60 days past due. I sent an explanation and the final paperwork from my bank. A few days later I received a call from a collection agency saying I owed this same amount. I explained the situation and the person I spoke to said they would note on my file that this was disputed and suggested I could pay half to settle it. I said I did not owe anything. On XXXX I received a letter from Viking Client Services , LLC ( a collection agency ) for this same amount again. I immediately sent them copies of my letters of explanation and the copy from XXXX XXXX that the Merchants bank had accepted my claim. I also filed a dispute of this charge on their website. After my credit card company canceled this part of the payment, I got a bill for that amount from XXXX. We have extremely good credit and I do not want this to affect that, so I would like to appeal to a higher level to get this resolved fairly. When I went on line to see what I could do, I noticed that others have had the same issue at this XXXX pickup location. ( The girl at the desk had a strong accent, so maybe she had a language issue. ) At worst this was a scam, at best the girl did not understand XXXX which is doubtful ) I believe that the people at the desk receive financial incentives for all of these add ons, so that was probably the reason for all of this. Honestly, this business practice is not fair to consumers. Most of us dont look at reviews before reserving cars, so we would not see these problems until something like this happens. I have not had problems in the past when renting vehicles, so maybe it is mainly this location, however I was very disappointed that when calling their corporate offices, they still would not resolve this issue. All I can say is buyer beware!

I had received a claim notification by mail from XXXX indicating that I owe {$1700.00} for vehicle damage following a rental on XX/XX/2022. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX through their website on XX/XX/2022 with the following* : - The vehicle rental was approximately XXXX hours - The vehicle was stored private lots between use with no public access- I disputed that any damage occurred during my rental and requested more information if they still believed I was responsible, including : documentation in the form of repair estimates, timestamped photos of the damage and odometer at the time the damage was noted, a copy of their incident report, all receipts for repairs made to the car, their copies of the rental agreement, return receipt, and both damage forms [ before and after rental ]. [ *This is a rephrasing as a copy of my original customer care case text submission was not provided to me and after contacting their department and escalating to supervisor I'm told my support request that I typed is confidential and they will not provide me a copy ] On XX/XX/2022 I received an email response from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX " I [ customer care agent ] confirmed that there were no charge billed for damage... '' After receiving this communication I was under the impression that the claim was no longer open but later received another letter ( XXXX ) from XXXX XXXX claims department persisting with the charges. I then contacted the claim department and again expressed my doubt that any damage occurred during my rental period and requested any evidence there was to support their claim as nothing, other than a bill, had been shared to justify their actions. On the phone the agent told me another agent would send me their report as the evidence. On XX/XX/2022 the agent emailed me their report but I do not believe it to be sufficient evidence to charge me for damages. The same day I responded to XXXX claims requesting more information and clarification on inconsistencies in the written report which leave room for doubt. From my response : - Can you please also provide evidence from the previous vehicle check-in which shows this damaged area was not already documented? [ This information would clearly support or refute whether the damage was present before my rental. Without it the claim against me leaves room for doubt ] - The receipt indicates the vehicle being checked in at XXXX XXXX with XXXX miles. The damage report indicates the vehicle 's mileage was XXXX and there is no time-stamp to otherwise indicate when it was completed. The photo evidence provided shows the vehicle with XXXX miles and is taken in daylight, placing them at least XXXX hours after the drop-off time. The inconsistency in mileage reporting and time between vehicle drop-off and documentation provided do not provide clear evidence that anything happened during my reservation. While waiting for a response from XXXX claims I was contacted by XXXX 's debt collection firm without any additional information. I called the debt collection number listed to indicate that I was disputing this claim prior to being sent to collections and again expressed my concerns about their report. The debt collection agent reviewed the report while we were on the phone and surmised that the claims are legitimate without additional clarification. I contested and requested the same information I had from the claims department but the debt collection agent said that I can not get any additional information and the claim and charges are legitimate as-is. The agent kept saying she was going to mark in their system that I was not going to pay the claim and I frequently had to clarify that I was not making a statement on non-payment and I was simply looking for the clarifying information to fully justify or refute these charges. I perceived the debt collection agent as trying to coerce me into making a statement of non-payment to expedite their process although I maintained that I am investigating this and do not believe the provided evidence supports their claim. As mentioned, I believe that this damage either was present before my rental period or occurred after drop-off/before check-in. I've made multiple attempts to work through this with XXXX directly but have not been heard.

On XX/XX/XXXX I took my leased XXXX into XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for covered warranty service repairs. I needed a loaner and there was a XXXX desk onsite at this dealer for that purpose. As XXXX always needs to diagnose the issue first to confirm warranty coverage, I had to put a deposit down with an XXXX card. The daily rate is XXXX plus tax that would be billed to XXXX once confirmed to be covered under warranty. I returned the car the very next day, XX/XX/XXXX to that same XXXX dealer. It was not checked or looked at while I was there since they were closing. about a week later I noticed a charge of XXXX on my XXXX from XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX and they told me that as of XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX had severed their relationship with XXXX and opted for XXXX to be onsite for warranty rentals. I spoke to the XXXX XXXX, XXXX who stated he would try and contact XXXX through his known contact channels but as they are no longer on site he would need some time. a few days later he came back to me stating XXXX claimed the vehicle was smoked in ... this is a complete falsehood as we do not smoke. XXXX said he would go back to them. Another couple days later he stated now they're saying there was a lot of dog hair in the vehicle ... again XXXX no animals were in this rental. XXXX said he would go back a third time. This time XXXX stated he never got any replies from XXXX. I opted to dispute the charge on my XXXX as neither the XXXX daily rate nor any uncharge is a valid charge to my card. In early XXXX I began receiving collection notices from XXXX for the debt of XXXX. Apparently they had also never correctly billed XXXX for the daily rate of the XXXX due to the relationship ending with XXXX over the weekend I returned the rental to XXXX. In addition to the XXXX daily rate, XXXX showed a XXXX upcharge for " outside washing ''. Now a XXXX false rationale for more than the daily rate. The notice stated within 60 days to write a letter to XXXX if there was any disagreement with the debt. I did that the very same day I received the first notice. I got no reply ... I did, however, receive ANOTHER collections bill from XXXX. When I received a XXXX notice, I opted to email XXXX per the guidance on the bill notice. On XXXX I emailed explaining these same details I got a reply back stating they don't bill 3rd parties I replied stating this is NOT a XXXX party at the time of the rental and it was the onsite XXXX desk inside the Veterans XXXX. I got no reply back fro XXXX On XXXX I received two mailed notices ... one from XXXX stating they have suspended all my renal privileges due to non payment and the other was a collections notice from a 3rd party agent, Viking client services, on behalf of XXXX attempting to continue to collect this invalid debt! On XX/XX/XXXX I attempted to call the XXXX number on their suspension notice XXXX and this number is not valid. I then called Viking on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke to XXXX, after explaining the situation he said I would need to talk back to XXXX. He provided the suspension dept contact at XXXX but stated they were closed. I reviewed the prior notice from XXXX and found their internal collection dept number as XXXX I called XXXX and spoke to XXXX ID # XXXX and after having me on hold for a while she came back to say there was nothing she could do since this was already sent to collections. XXXX is blatantly breaking collection laws by attempting to collect a debt that is NOT owed by me. They have falsified the " uncharge '' and at the same time created 3 different false excuses for this uncharge being applied, smoke, pet hair and {$75.00} " outside '' wash showing on the official bill/notice. XXXX failed to correctly bill XXXX for this COVERED WARRANTY REPAIR RENTAL and ten added XXXX of fictitious charges ... what sort of vehicle that was rented less than a day and driven home, parked in a garage and then driven back to the dealer needs a {$75.00} car wash??? NONE

I would like to report that XXXX Rent A Car is attempting to collect on a debt which we do not owe, due to a false damage claim against us. They have been non-responsive to our communications, failed to provide any documentation over several months of requests, all while continuing to send repeated paper bills to us ( written as if we have n't responded to past letters ), and then sending the issue to a collection agency, Viking Client Services XXXX Inc. We dispute the debt entirely, because the premise of the original bill is entirely erroneous and has never been supported. XXXX claimed we caused damage to a car when we observed the damage was present before we rented it, and we said so in a signed form. This spring, my wife and I traveled XXXX for our wedding, and rented an XXXX car. We picked up the car at their XXXX airport location on XXXX/XXXX/2015, and returned it on XXXX/XXXX/2015. We booked on XXXX, and used my wife 's XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card for payment ; she was also the sole driver. We have the original receipt, where the car was listed as a Kia XXXX, with vehicle number XXXX, and the rental agreement number is XXXX. At no time during our trip did we get into an accident or cause any damage to the vehicle. We had observed some pre-existing scratches and dents on the car bumper after driving it off the lot, but XXXX did not inspect the vehicle with us, and we never signed off on the car 's condition. XXXX The lot at XXXX airport is physically separate from the counter. ) When we returned the car to XXXX, the XXXX agent noticed the damage and asked us to fill out an incident report. We disputed any liability, and only filled in the form to write that the dent on the bumper had been there when we received it. I have a copy of this signed incident report from the time of the rental disputing the damage. However, weeks later, XXXX sent a bill for damage. The damage claim number is XXXX, and the damage claimed was {$550.00}. After that date, I spent a month attempting to contact XXXX to resolve this. I called their main line, which directed me to their claims online contact form. Their claims agent responded to my query by directing me to call a XXXX office. The XXXX office never responded to my phone message. I sent XXXX more emails, on XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, and none were responded to. In my correspondence, I reiterated that we dispute the damage claim, and noted that we have a signed incident report from the time of the alleged damage disputing the damage was caused by us, and we asked for XXXX to provide documentation, including an itemized repair bill/estimate listing the nature of the damage and the actual work to be done, as well as timestamped supporting photos from before and after the rental to demonstrate the damage being alleged occurred during our usage. I believe they stopped responding because there was no such evidence from XXXX that we caused this damage. Instead, after not responding to my last email for several months, XXXX sent our claim to a collection agency. We received a letter from Viking Client Services this week stating that they were seeking to collect on this account, and that now the balance due {$800.00}. The Viking account number given was XXXX. We have made every attempt to resolve this dispute, but XXXX has been non-responsive to our communications, and failed to provide any proof of alleged damage. They and their collectors have continued to send us form letters and robo-calls, however. We believe XXXX and Viking are engaging in deceptive practices, attempting to collect a debt they must or should know we do not owe, since they evidently can not provide evidence for it.

On XX/XX/XXXX I rented a car from XXXX XXXX. As I was pulling through the departure gate of the rental lot the attendant inadvertently activated the gate system causing the surface barrier to come up and the gate arm to come down both impacting front of the car. The attendant readily admitted his mistake and apologized. I asked for the manager to come out as a witness and review the circumstances which he did. He explained the gate system was new and they were still getting used to it. He apologized for the incident and provided me with an upgrade for my inconvenience. I was asked to fill out a XXXX incident report in which I stated the " gate closed prematurely prior to car completely exiting. '' Due to the delays I was late for a business dinner and eventually had to cancel. Regardless, I picked up the upgraded car, returned it the following day and did not hear anything further until I received a letter from Viking Billing Service , Inc. dated XX/XX/XXXX. The letter stated I was " involved in an incident with a XXXX XXXX vehicle '' and they " are partnering with XXXX XXXX to assist in the processing of this claim '' and " requesting payment in the amount of {$300.00}. '' In response I sent a certified letter dated XX/XX/XXXX clearly stating " I am informing you that I have no responsibility for damage to the XXXX vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX and I am not liable for the {$300.00} you have requested. '' Also, I requested the results of any investigation that was conducted that could possibly indicate any responsibility on my part. Most importantly I wanted any statements from the attendant or manager that contradicted or confirmed the facts as I had stated them. Additionally, in a follow up phone call on XX/XX/XXXX with Viking Client Services I described the circumstances and that I had no responsibility for the damage or debt. Again I requested any information from the witnesses that contracted the facts as I had stated them. The same day I received an email providing some information but nothing that contradicted what I had told them. The email again asked to remit payment even though I clearly informed them I did not owe this debt and they had provided nothing to contradict what I had told them. In response to the email I again sent a certified letter dated XX/XX/XXXX stating I had no responsibility for the damage to the vehicle and did not owe this debt. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Viking Client Services, LLC that said " XXXX XXXX has assigned the above account to Viking Billing Services, LLC for collection. '' " Unless you notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of this debt or any portion thereof, this office will assume this debt is valid. '' Clearly my first two letters and phone call stated I disputed the validity of this debt. However, after three months, two certified letters, a phone call and email it appears Viking Client Services, LLC wants to re-start the entire process. In my opinion this is just harassment. To be clear Viking Billing Service , Inc. and Viking Client Services, LLC both share the same mailing address so any attempt by one or the other to claim they did not receive information is not valid. Other than taking a few pictures I do not believe an investigation was conducted and XXXX XXXX and Viking Billing/Client Service ( s ) care little about the actual circumstances, facts, liability or truth. Based on my own experience and in my opinion they are implementing a business model whose purpose is to harass the consumer for money regardless of the validity of the debt.

I rented the car, a XXXX XXXX, from XXXX from XX/XX/2016 through XX/XX/2016. Within 24 hours of the rental, we noticed that there was a mechanical issue with the car. Since we felt this was an unsafe vehicle to drive, I called XXXX to pick up the car from the hotel parking lot and to deliver another car. I told the dispatcher that there was a mechanical problem with the rental car. I inspected the XXXX XXXX before the tow truck driver arrived to pick up the unsafe vehicle. There were no damages to the car. The tow truck driver took possession of the XXXX XXXX. He did not inspect the XXXX XXXX. I did not receive any paperwork from the tow truck company nor XXXX regarding the XXXX XXXX with the unsafe mechanical condition. On XX/XX/2016, I received a letter from Viking Billing Services, dated XX/XX/2016, stating that there was damage to the XXXX XXXX and I had to pay. The notice did not have any vehicle history report, invoices, estimates, etc. to back up the alleged damages that occurred. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX, an insurance adjustor, to assist me. He called Viking on my behalf on XX/XX/2016 to request detailed information justifying the charges. I did not receive any paperwork. I received another notice on XX/XX/2016, from Viking, with the date of XX/XX/2016. XXXX XXXX called Viking on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2016. He talked to XXXX and she said that I should receive the information in about 8-10 days. I still have not received any proof regarding the alleged damages to the XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/2016, I received another letter from Viking. The Viking letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, stated that the bill would be sent to collections if we did not set up a payment plan. Since XXXX XXXX 's calls requesting information did not work, I decided to try Action Line, XXXX XXXX XXXX in Hawaii to assist. XXXX, an XXXX XXXX consumer advocate, called Viking to request information. They told her that she needed me to call Viking and give them permission for her to work on my behalf. I called Viking on Thursday, XX/XX/2016 and talked to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I gave them permission to talk to XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX. I told XXXX XXXX that I will mail a letter, certified mail, return receipt to his boss, XXXX XXXX. He told me the vehicle had a scratch and that I should have taken pictures of the vehicle and that they check all cars to see if they work. This is the first time someone told me there was a scratch on the car. He did not mention specifics. On Tuesday, XX/XX/2016, XXXX from XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX called me and said that I needed to call XXXX, Customer Service, XXXX to obtain a Case ID number and file a complaint escalation form online at the XXXX group website. I did some research online and found out that this is a scam that has happened to many people in the U. S. and in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. I finally checked the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and noticed that what was happening to me occurred with other people ; following the same pattern of receiving a notice of damages over a month after the car rental and not receiving any detail of the alleged damage, vehicle history report, estimates, invoices, insurance reports, etc. The XXXX XXXX was not damaged in my possession. I am not liable for the supposed scratch on the car. The unsafe XXXX XXXX was out of my possession when it was towed. The supposed scratch is the responsibility of the tow company ; therefore, I am not liable for any charges relating to the XXXX XXXX in question. Stop charging me for this and stop all collection proceedings.

Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I would like to file a complaint regarding the debt collection from XXXX and XXXX. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I made XXXX reservation to rent a car until XXXX of XXXX. The reserved car rental rate was {$250.00} per week and XXXX. I received the car without any problem, and paid the upfront fee of {$890.00}. I was told that I would get the {$200.00} back when my rental car is safely returned. On XXXX of XXXX, I extended the rent until XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Upon extending the rental service, I received the final bill which increased the rental fee to XXXXweek and 96.8/day. As soon as I saw the change in rental rate, I sent out email to XXXX regarding this bill change, but they told me they are unable to verify the nature of this change until my rent is completed and the vehicle is returned. After the vehicle was returned, I was charged with {$1000.00} from XXXX and my business with XXXX was completed. However, XXXX never explained what is the status with the strange rental rate change, and on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I got a post mail from Viking Client Services collection office about a debt collection amount of {$2100.00}. Upon receiving the letter, I denied that the debt belongs to me because I was sure that I did not miss any payment. Then on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX sent another debt collection letter, stating that XXXX is requesting me to pay {$2100.00} for the XXXXweek rental rate fee of the returned vehicle. I contacted XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX, requesting explanation about the rate change and this debt collection letter. XXXX came back with the following response. =============================================================== Quote : We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and for failing to meet your expectations in this situation. I truly understand that you want to resolve this as soon as possible. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. According to our records, the vehicle rented is not the one reserved. Hence the base rate change. You have received a hybrid sedan, which is more expensive than the one you reserved, which is a standard sedan. You received a collection letter demanding payment for the remaining amount that was not settled. Unfortunately, you filed a dispute with your bank, which hindered our ability to resolve the concern. Please be advised that your information has been forwarded to an outside collection agency to collect the payment for us. For further assistance, please call Viking Client Services ============================================================== I was never informed or notified from XXXX that my original vehicle was not what I originally reserved until XXXX XXXX XXXX. At XXXX, I simply showed my reservation receipt and received the key and the parking lot number of the vehicle. There was not a single email or a phone call or anything regarding the vehicle change. I returned the vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX, paid my final bill on XX/XX/XXXX and end the transaction without any issue. The current credit card dispute with my bank and XXXX was also never communicated. Ultimately, this bill is result of a clinical mistake from XXXX. Even after making the mistake, XXXX never informed me or tried to fix the issue. Instead, they tried to compensate the mistake through the customer bill long after the vehicle return.

Rental Car Company : XXXX Rental Agreement : XXXX Viking Claim Number : XXXX I received a claim from Viking for {$920.00} on behalf of XXXX for vehicle damage on a car I rented from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX location from XXXX/XXXX/2015 - XXXX/XXXX/2015 and returned to an attendant without incident. At the time of renting the car I questioned damage to the driver 's side door and was told that it would not be a problem if I returned the car to the same location. Because of this, I made sure to check there was no problems and I got the all clear to go when I returned the car on Monday morning around XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/15. The attendant met me in the driveway and actually drove the car into the parking lot before my husband and I left. I first learned of the alleged " accident '' 6 weeks after renting the car - with a notice of collection from XXXX ( an out of state collection agency ). By this time I had already thrown out my car rental paperwork. The notice claimed the vehicle had been involved in a major accident, with damage including the roof and hood of the car. However, there was no accident report or evidence of the damage provided. I was newly pregnant at the time - had I been in a car accident as serious as they claimed I would have needed to go to the hospital. I also have witness who can verify the condition of the car. As further evidence of my lack of knowledge of the incident, I had already rented from XXXX another time. When I received the bill for the damages, I took the notice into the Budget location at XXXX XXXX where I rented the car and questioned them about it. The attendant claimed he had no knowledge of the damage or the company - XXXX - and refused to give me his name, claiming he was only a " lowly worker. '' I told him I would not leave without some resolve so he took a copy of the paperwork and told me he would have the manager, XXXX, call me. He refused me to give me XXXX 's last name. And of course, XXXX never called. I also left a message with XXXX and never received a response. I eventually tracked down XXXX after calling XXXX at XXXX XXXX until he picked up the phone XXXX day a couple weeks later. XXXX told me he had no knowledge of the accident and could provide no details of the rental paperwork or condition of the car when it was returned. After that, I contacted XXXX Customer Service and received this message : Please note, according to our records, this vehicle was damaged during the rental. I apologize for any possible inconvenience, however this department does not have access to information relating to the incident in question. Please contact our XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX. Now I am being contacted by Viking Collection in an attempt to claim the {$920.00}. I explained over the phone that I would not simply hand over money for an incident I am not responsible for and damages I have received no evidence of. I am very worried that this has already negatively impacted my credit rating. I believe this is an intentional scam to get money from XXXX and the collection agencies they are working with. This is fraudulent and criminal. I really need some help.

I'm disputing unjustified inflated rental charges imposed by XXXX Car Rental following vandalism of rental vehicle. I booked/reserved XXXX rXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX contracted rate of {$510.00} to attend a funeral in XXXX XXXX XXXX Vehicle was picked up at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX for rental period XXXX. When not in use, vehicle was parked at curb in a residential neighborhood ( relative residence ). On XX/XX/XXXX ( approx. XXXX XXXX. ) I discovered vehicle had been vandalized when I attempted to move vehicle. Driver 's door lock was drilled out and something was jammed in the ignition not allowing me to insert key. Vehicle was not drivable. I immediately contacted XXXX Customer Service to report vandalism, was transferred to XXXX and XXXX and filed an incident report. Was informed vehicle would be towed to XXXX, that I needed to provide access to vehicle for towing company and XXXX would be contacting me. I was also guaranteed transport to the airport to catch my noon flight. Transport was never provided. Had to contact XXXX ride-share at my expense. Towing company contacted me at XXXX p.m. ( when I landed in XXXX ) to advise they were on site and towing damaged vehicle to XXXX XXXX XXXX as directed by Dispatch. I also filed a claim with XXXX XXXX XXXX as I have a premium rental car protection policy. Since this incident, XXXX has attempted to charge and collect unjustified charges for what they allege are XXXX additional rental days the vehicle was in my possession until I returned it to XXXX. This is untrue. The towing company XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) has verified that the vehicle was returned to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX the date rental was due. The towing company stated that once XXXX XXXX is notified and an incident ID is issued, the rental agreement is considered CLOSED. XXXX has turned me over to a collection agency, Viking Client Services LLC who are attempting to collect {$2100.00} for the rental ( {$510.00} rental fee plus {$1600.00} alleged additional days ). As documented on XXXX XXXX Rental Agreement, the correct/contracted amount of the rental amount is {$510.00}, which I am willing to pay without dispute. However, Viking agents are ignoring the facts and refusing to accept this amount and want to settle the debt for {$1000.00}, which is unjustified. I have done due diligence by complying with returning the vehicle as directed. I've spent numerous hours of frustration and stress attempting to communicate with XXXX Customer Service, and Viking without success. XXXX has also placed me on a " Do Not Rent '' list. XXXX XXXX XXXX has also tried to advocate on my behalf. I am a XXXX on a fixed income and wish to end this harrowing experience as soon as possible. I have documentation to substantiate my claim.

During a visit to XXXX for 11 days XX/XX/2022 to XXXX XXXX I had rented a card with XXXX XXXX ( record number XXXX ) I used my new XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card with a XXXX Limit. Everything was FINE- the car was filthy and dirty and I gave them a bad review because the car was NEVER cleaned a child had licked their hands and wiped it all over the back windows. Someone had spilled a drink in it and French fries were all down in the seat. Due to flight delay from Florida I should have arrived at XXXX XXXX and instead arrived at XXXX so it was dark and I picked from the 5 STAR group that was left. Regardless, I never complained. I filled the car on the evening of XX/XX/XXXX because Of the extremely early flight back to Florida that cost me over {$50.00}. Fast forward, I had given them a poor review when I got home and noticed on my FINAL receipt they charge me {$20.00} additionally for GAS. This was ridiculous and I put that in my review. MOVE ahead to XX/XX/XXXX I got a notification on my cell phone that SOMEONE fraudulently was trying to charge my card from XXXX XXXX and thankfully my card DECLINED it as fraud. Now, ever since that day I have been receiving ( to the level of HARASSMENT ) almost every other day notices from XXXX that I have an amount due of {$740.00} which is IMPOSSIBLE since I have the finally receipt from them that was emailed to me showing the Credit card that was used on XX/XX/2022. Now on XXXX XXXX I received a collection letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX trying to collect an amount that I DO NOT OWE. I believe that this is an extremely important matter and I will be forwarding this to the XXXX XXXX XXXX of TX and my XXXX XXXX XXXX to inform them of the situation. I believe that there is a VERY SERIOUS MATTER OF FRAUD taking place or very least Retaliation for the review that was left. I have no idea. I have the final receipt from XXXX and then SUDDENLY in XXXX ( mid ) they are trying to bill me. I ive rented many cars throughout my lifetime and I have never seen a company try to send you a bill a month after the rental thats unheard of there was no problem with my card it was approved when I took the car they had a hold on the money and I have an email showing that that they held that amount so why Im being charged or trying to be charged again looks very very suspicious and now Im being turned over to collection Agency is absolutely appalling these companies are out of control these corporations think that they can do absolutely whatever they want to just regular honest people and that is not going to happen and again both of these companies the collection agency and XXXX this information

XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is apparently trying to shake me down over damage to a rental vehicle that I did not cause. Here is the complaint that I sent to them after I received a letter from a debt collection agency. Please note that the car was successfully checked in by a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX person on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX after I had already dropped it off. According to their own attached records, the incident occurred on XX/XX/XXXX and was not reported by the individual who checked in the car on XXXX -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Dear Sir or Madam, I have received a damage claim to the above rental car for damages that I did not cause. Here are the facts : There was no attendant on duty when I returned the car. My business partner was with me and can attest to the fact that the car was undamaged. The claim that I received shows that I returned the car to XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The " Incident Date '' listed on the report is XX/XX/XXXX. The car was not in my possession from XX/XX/XXXX until the incident date of XXXX. The email address listed on the claim is incorrect and does not match the email address that I have on file with XXXX. The pictures that I was sent shows the car in a completely different location than the one that it was left in. It was left at the airport check in facility but the pictures clearly show it at a repair facility. Why am I being charged damage that I did not incur and apparently your company can not confirm happened while the car was in my possession? If I did incur this damage, why was I not contacted by XXXX before it was sent to a credit reporting agency? Should I need to get my attorney involved, I have already consulted with XXXX. Please provide me with the following information as soon as possible so I can share it with her. XXXX 's policy regarding the checking in of cars upon the end of a rental. XXXX 's policy regarding the reporting of damage by company personnel upon return of a rental. The entire rental history of this car from XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX. The contact information for any owners of video surveillance systems of the airport lot where the car was left. Please feel free to contact me at XXXX or XXXX to discuss further. We look forward to your favorable resolution based on lack of facts, witnesses, and the lack of expeditious reporting of the supposed damage by XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. XXXX XXXX

On XXXX the XXXX of XXXX I, XXXX XXXX rented a vehicle from XXXX at the XXXX/XXXX. XXXX Airport and did return this vehicle to the same location on XXXX the XXXX, XXXX. My deposit was refunded, and final charges to my Visa CC were on XX/XX/XXXX. The XXXX week of XXXX, XXXX, I received a letter, in a nondescript envelope with no company logo or information. This looked like junk mail, but was in fact a letter from Viking Billing Service, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX. This letter claimed I had caused damage to the vehicle rented from XXXX and to send Viking money. I called the XXXX company at my earliest convenience, which was XXXX the XXXX, XXXX XXXX to request more information. I was given no information verbally or in writing regarding any damage claim. I try to follow up again on XXXX the XXXX, XXXX with the same lack of result. I have called XXXX many times to resolve this, and not once was I given any information regarding damage to the vehicle. I have now received another letter from Viking, again nondescript envelope that looks like junk mail. This letter claims in is the final letter, and that this matter could now be sent to collections. I have spoken with XXXX XXXX of Viking Billing Service now on XXXX the XXXX, XXXX, and he has finally sent to me a 34 page pdf file of the damage claim including a signed " Contact form '' from XXXX the XXXX which someone claims they called me, and were told " wrong number ''. My phone records from that day indicate I received exactly 1 phone call, from a local XXXX area code number. This document also has pictures of vehicle damage dated XXXX XXXX. Viking Billing Service is a DBA of Viking Client Services, XXXX. Viking has violated the The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, as enacted by the 95th United States Congress, as they did not contact me within the allotted 5 day period to validate their debt, and violated the 30 day debt dispute clause, as they failed to contact me in a timely manner. I have also written a letter to XXXX XXXX XXXX, Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at XXXX. Given the class action lawsuit against XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX regarding a pattern of behavior near identical to what I have described in this complaint, I would like XXXX and Viking to cease this claim. On XX/XX/2019 I received a letter from Viking Billing Services indicating that I was being billed for damages to a car rented from XXXX XXXX. The letter indicates the date of loss was XX/XX/2019. I did not have a rental car on this date. Somehow, they also got my XXXX year old Mother 's phone number ( who lives in a completely different state ) and have been leaving messages for her indicating that they are trying to reach me. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with a representative by the name of XXXX who instructed me to disregard the letter from Viking as he could not find anything in my file that indicated that any damages were noted in my record for any vehicles for any rental periods in which I did business with XXXX XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke directly with Viking. I was told that despite the fact that the information on the letter I received was not accurate, I was still accountable for the charges because they believed that the car I rented during the previous week " might have been '' the actual rental period/ date that the alleged damages occurred. Since I was involved in no accident and did not have any damages to any rental car I rented, I asked that further information be sent to me regarding the specifics of the actual date of alleged incident, pictures of the damage, and cost estimates for repairs to the rental vehicle in question. The representative from Viking indicated that he would promptly mail these details to my home address. After nearly 4 weeks of hearing nothing from Viking, I sent the attached letter to Viking via certified mail indicating that I considered this matter closed. They responded with an additional letter ( attached ) indicating that they are still awaiting payment. I still have not received any details about the alleged damage to a rental car, the date that the damage was discovered, or any estimates on the cost of the alleged damage. Please help. I can't understand how a company like this can harass someone to pay for damages for which 1 ) I was not responsible, 2 ) indicates damages occurred on a day that I didn't even have a rental car, 3 ) the car rental agency itself confirmed there was no record of damage to any vehicle I turned in and 4 ) Viking has been unable to produce an evidence of damage or cost estimates to substantiate their claim against me.

On XX/XX/2022 I picked up a rental car at XXXX in XXXX XXXX that I had reserved through XXXX XXXX XXXX. When I got to the XXXX XXXX counter the agent told me my credit card on file was expired, XXXX card ending in XXXX. I apologized and gave him my XXXX XXXX XXXX ending in XXXX. The rental amount was {$340.00}. A few minutes later my husband called and had been contacted by XXXX XXXX regarding a charge from XXXX in Virginia for {$540.00}. He asked me if the charge was valid and I said I do not think so as it was for {$340.00} and I had to use XXXX XXXX XXXX. His response to XXXX was that the charge did not appear to be valid. XXXX was then going to close the account and open a new one. A new credit card was received from XXXX in just a few days. I returned the rental car to XXXX in XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2022. We never heard anything from XXXX until a letter from Viking Client Services, a collection agency, was received in the mail XX/XX/2022. The letter was notifying me that they were trying to collect a debt to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I immediately phoned Viking Client Services and spoke to XXXX XXXX and said it was sent to collection for reason # XXXX. She did not know what that code meant. I told her that this obviously was an error on and I would contact XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX told me there was a transmission but since we had told XXXX that the Virginia location and amount of {$540.00} did not match my XXXX XXXX rental amount of # XXXX the transmission was declined. She suggested calling XXXX to explain the situation and XXXX would gladly transmit the amount owed immediately if we authorized it. I spoke to both billing and claims on XX/XX/2022 and XX/XX/2022 and neither department would work with me. I asked why I was not contacted regarding the matter and why they did not use the XXXX XXXX I gave the agent at XXXX in XXXX XXXX. No one had an answer for me and also proceeded to tell me that I was on the Do Not Rent list for both XXXX and XXXX. Lastly, I also asked what the collection reason code # XXXX was and they wanted to know where I got that information and then told me that was an internal confidential code that they could not share with me. This was clearly a mistake made by XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Iowa XXXX Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to submit a complaint regarding the actions of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and Viking Client Services , LLC in relation to a successfully disputed charge on my debit card. On XX/XX/2023, I rented a car from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and provided them with my credit card information for payment. The rental car rented, had pre-existing damage from a prior rental. I have included pictures that I took of the car when I received it, which clearly shows there were preexisting cosmetic damage to the car. Ive given the rental staff at XXXX XXXX XXXX to document the the pre-existing damage but the customer represented noted that the rental agreement was already delivered to me electronically. Additionally XXXX rented me a car with low tire pressure. I received the low-tire pressure warning 5 minutes after I drove the car off the lot. Their lack of maintenance and inspection is extremely concerning. XXXX put me in a dangerous situation by renting me a car with existing damage and also low tire pressure. After the rental period was over, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX charged my credit card in the amount of {$65.00} and attempted to charge me for the rental cars pre-existing damages. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge, and after a thorough investigation, my bank determined that the charge was not valid and was successfully reversed. However, to my surprise, I recently received a notice from a debt collector, Viking Client Services LLC, noting that I am still responsible for the {$65.00}. I was shocked and confused by this, as I had already won the dispute with my bank. I believe that XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and Viking Client Services, LLCs actions are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and other relevant consumer protection laws. I would appreciate it if the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau could investigate this matter and take appropriate action against XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for their illegal and unethical behavior. Please find attached all relevant documentation, including my bank 's letter stating that the disputed charge was reversed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My attorney sent the following letter to XXXX XX/XX/XXXX requesting a response with evidence the car was in fact damaged, which it was not. Nothing has been sent back. So now its XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX has sent me to collections with a company called Viking. There are many complaints on the CFPB site for both of these companies, and I want the harassment to stop. I never damaged the vehicle, there is not proof, I turned it in without any issues and I inspected it with the XXXX employee. Here is the letter sent back in XX/XX/XXXX : Re : False Accident Claim by XXXX ; rental agreement # XXXX XX/XX/XXXX To Whom It May Concern ; I received a claim from your companies on XX/XX/XXXX, dated XX/XX/XXXX, in reference to a car returned at the XXXX, TN airport XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. The claim states there was an accident, collision, to the vehicle, and that I am to pay {$1300.00} for said damages. This is impossible as I never crashed the vehicle, I returned the vehicle to 2 gentlemen who were working at the drop off location, we walked the vehicle, and there was NO DAMAGE. No one called us to tell us there was damage after the fact. No one sent me a report for the damage, and I have not seen or been sent any pictures of the damage. Yet I receive a letter an entire month after asking for a payment to damage that was never done by me during my time with the vehicle. So the vehicle was repaired before even reaching me to discuss or show that there was damage to the vehicle. Further I called XXXX, XXXX, at XXXX, 3 business days in a row ; 1 ) XX/XX/XXXX left message 2 ) XX/XX/XXXX did not leave message 3 ) XX/XX/XXXX left message No return phone calls were made, and all 3 calls were made from my cell phone, which has a record of these calls. This is a completely false claim or gross error on your part, and I would like a letter sent back as the effect. I will seek legal action if either XXXX or XXXX decide to further proceed with the false accusations about me having and accident in the rental car. As I stated above, I dropped it off and there were 2 attendants laughing and talking. One came and walked the car with me, and I gave him the keys and went on our way.

To whom this may concern, This is an inquiry of concern related to XXXX car rental company and Viking client services LLC. On or about XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Viking client services stating that I owe a balance just electric debt is related to a car rental that took place in or at about XX/XX/2022. The car that was rented from XXXX rental company was recommended by my insurance company XXXX XXXX. Below are the documents related to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and its payment towards the rental car according to my insurance agreement. According to the rental term agreements I am obligated to have my card on file while the car is in my possession. Highlighting that there were some issues with the amount of time that was allocated to me from my insurance company. XXXX rental had to adjust the term of my rental timeline related to the portion that XXXX XXXX will pay. Please highlight that I did not exceed my rental agreement Max requirements for coverage. At the time when I returned the vehicle I paid my portion of the vehicle rental in full off of my credit card. Below you will see a document highlighting how much I paid related to my portion of the agreement. This payment was made the day that I dropped the car off in person. As you read the XXXX part bill it stated that this bill is related to a accident with the car. With is indicating to that I had a XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX in the car and this is not the truth. I never heard of an unreported car accident costing XXXX. As a consumer I am under the assumption when I total out a bill at a location that I will not receive a collection notice later on saying that I owe them more money. So, I would like you to look into this issue as well as highlight that there is a possibility that hurts car rental companies are selling debts to third parties company. Such as Viking client services of debts that are already satisfied. Just highlighted in this example I am giving you. Would like to thank you in advance for reviewing all said documents as well as my concern as a consumer doing business with the entity known as XXXX car rental.

I rented a car from XXXX XXXX a car in XXXX XXXX MO on XX/XX/2022. Car was to be returned on XX/XX/2022. However, In the morning of XX/XX/2022, I got ready to go to my appointment, which was the major reason I rented a car, because my I dropped off my car at the mechanic. I started the car and it wouldn't come on. I called XXXX customer service, the lady I spoke with on the phone tried to see if she can walk me through trying to start it. It didn't work. She told me it may be more than just a battery situation and said she will send a tow to come and get it and also informed me that a replacement vehicle has been set up for me at a different location. I went to the other location and they told me they did not have any car available for me. I called XXXX customer service to inform them. they sent me to a different location, yet I did not have any car. I went ahead to my appointment. The car was towed and I did not get a replacement. And by that afternoon when it was towed, I have taken multiple Ubers to get to my appointment. I called XXXX to report this and they said to see what they can do. I rented the car via my XXXX XXXX credit card which seems to have collaboration with XXXX. I called my credit card and informed them and filed a dispute because I did not use the car for the whole intended duration and did not get a replacement. I was not going to pay for a service that was not provided. My credit card company credited me an adjusted total of {$180.00}. I was told by my credit card company that it's been resolved. I went to military training since XX/XX/XXXX and I just got back home, and I was going through mails and I saw that I had a collection from Vikings Client Services LLC, representing XXXX in collection of {$180.00}, " a debt that I owe '' and that I was placed on " do not rent '' by XXXX. Which I did not understand because I have rented from XXXX after the fact. I called XXXX customer service and was told they couldn't see where I owed money. I called Vikings client services and they insisted that I owed XXXX money and that I'm still on the " do not rent '' list.

At that time I only received the contract ( included ) but nobody walk with us around the car to check for damages and I did not see any, nor I received a template with the car and damages if there were any. I returned the car on the XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX at the same location. An employee greeted me, walked around the car like checking it and asked if I wanted a driver to take me to the airline departure door. I was pleased because my son was just released from the hospital and he wasnt feeling well. I sat in the passenger seat and the employee-driver transported us to the XXXX terminal in the same car. He opened the trunk and proceeded to unload our luggage. Gave him a tip and he left. One month later I received a call from XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXX informing that I was responsible to pay XXXX $ for damages caused to the vehicle I rented with XXXX while in my possession a d that I should send the check to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was surprised because I did not even see the damage nor I was contacted by XXXX to informed me of this problem. I said I was not going to pay unless they sent me a prove that the car was in my possession when the damage happen and no after the employee returned the car to their office. This driver could have seen the damage when he opened the trunk to retrieve my luggage. He never said there was any damage in the car. Included is the claim from XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, Claims Recovery Assistant. I never received a claim from XXXX. They sent me the bill and a picture of the damage. I will appreciate very much if you can guide me in what to do with this claim since I think is not how the rental companies should operate. Who can assure me that it was their employee returning the car to their office who damaged the car. Sincerely

I am DISPUTING a collectioncharge. A collection agent from Viking, LLC continued to attempt collect a debt even AFTER I Told him that this was a charge in error & I had ALL the emails fromXXXX XXXX XXXX where they took off the charge because I should have never been charged. The Viking representative stated that he did not care about the email proof or that the debt that is NOT OWED. I rented a car at XXXX airport on XX/XX/ 2022 and returned the car, with a full tank of gas on XXXX at the XXXX airport. I got an email receipt & saw that I was charged for gas even though I returned the car with a full tank. I called & spoke with a representative at XXXX & she stated that the charge was taken off because she could see where it was an error. She sent me an updated receipt without the {$100.00} charge. A couple of days later, I saw that the charge was put back on my credit card. I called XXXX back, and the agent said that one department did not communicate with another department, but the charge should have never been put back & he took the charge off & sent me another email. Today I received a letter from Viking Client Services , LLC stating that this matter has gone to collections for {$100.00}. When I called and spoke to a very ignorant and rude individual, he stated that he " don't care & XXXX is gon na get its money ''. I asked the Viking Rep what I needed to send him & what he needed to see to prove this debt was a charge in error & It was taken off by XXXX. He yelled at me that he did not have to see anything because all I had to do was pay the money. Today, I again spoke with a XXXX representative who stated she did not know why this matter went to collection & she does not know what to do. After having spent 60 mins waiting to speak to the representative that did not know what to do, she disconnected my call. I do not want this on my credit report & the Viking debt collector does not care that I do not owe this money. I am not paying something that I do not owe.

I rented a car when visiting my mother in XXXX, Texas, several months ago. I returned the car to the airport when I flew home. First, I received letters stating I needed to return the car. I contacted XXXX and stated that I had returned the car. I had to fill out paperwork while at the airport because my mother 's neighbor backed into the car, and I listed her name and insurance information as the responsible party. The neighbor 's insurance agent had called me, accepting responsibility and giving me all the pertinent information to turn in to the car rental company. Then, I get a bill for {$800.00} for the damages. I sent another letter explaining everything again, with all the insurance information I had already given them for the damages. Now I get another letter dated XX/XX/2016, demanding payment and warning of collection efforts. Here is a copy of the letter I sent them : Viking Billing Service XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX Dear XXXX XXXX : This letter is in reference to your letter requesting payment for a claim, number XXXX. I have no idea what is going on with XXXX. First I keep getting letters to return the car ; now I get a letter requesting payment for a claim. All the information was on the paperwork when I returned the car. When I returned the car, I stated on the paperwork that the neighbor backed into the car and she gave me her insurance information. I spoke with the insurance company, and the company accepted responsibility. Obviously, XXXX not only had lost the car ; the paperwork also vanished. Here is the information again. The insurance company is XXXX ; claim number is XXXX. The insurance agent 's ( XXXX ) number is XXXX x XXXX. I have been in XXXX and just now opened your letter requesting payment. I have never had such an experience with a car rental agency, especially with one as well known as XXXX. Sincerely, Please advise how I can stop this harassment.

I rented a car from XXXX XXXX XXXX Rental back in XXXX of 2014. I returned the car in the condition that I received it. The employee XXXX walked around the car, got the mileage, and I paid for the rental. 9 months later I received a bill XXXX stating that owed {$77.00} XXXX {$25.00} administration fee, {$25.00} loss of use fee, and {$27.00} in damages to the vehicle ). I contacted Budget and asked why 9 months later I was receiving a bill and how did they know that I was the XXXX that caused the damage. I was n't given a response as to why it took them 9 months. I was told that the reason they knew I caused the damage is because they are " a document based company. '' The representative also stated that the employee 's sole responsibility when taking the car back was to expedite the return and not check for damages. I was n't given any recourse to dispute the charges. I had my attorney mail a letter to XXXX requesting that they send documentation proving the damage was caused by me and I received no response other than a generic letter stating that I needed to pay otherwise the debt would be sent to collections. A few months later, I received a letter from a collection agency stating that I owe them the {$77.00} and that I have 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt. It is unreasonable to take 9 months to claim I had returned a damaged rental vehicle. I am disputing the fact that I had caused any damage to the vehicle and that XXXX should be required to alert the customer to any damage before they leave the lot. Otherwise, how can XXXX prove that the damage was caused by the customer? I am also frustrated with their lack of explanation regarding the damage and my rights to dispute the charges. I have A+ credit and XXXX is taking advantage of the fact that I do n't want my credit affected, so they feel they can send a bill without proof and I will pay it.

I rented a car from XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX at a prepaid rate of {$49.00} per day for a total of {$190.00}. With taxes, fees, etc. They estimated I would owe an additional {$76.00} at pick up. When I picked up the car, they did not have the vehicle I originally reserved and gave me a larger vehicle, refusing to honor my prepaid rates and calling it a discount. I finally agreed to use the alternate vehicle for the agreed upon daily rate, but pay the difference in taxes and fees, what they told me would be {$140.00}. Upon drop off they charged me for a full week rental of {$490.00} plus a daily vehicle upgrade fee of {$10.00}, totaling {$540.00}. The final receipt came through digitally after I was dropped the car off with the original printed receipt in the agreed amount, as is their policy. They did not respond to the complaint I filed with their customer service department. I then filed a dispute with my Credit Card company, XXXX, for the difference in the charges, supplying my original confirmation email, the final charges, and the information supplied above. They did a complete investigation and resolved the dispute in my favor, returning the fraudulently charged {$240.00} to my account. XXXX has begun sending me collections notices via Viking Client Services for what they claim is outstanding debt. I contacted Viking and asked them to route all further inquiries on the debt to XXXX directly as they resolved it on my behalf. They said XXXX will continue to dispute the debt until it is paid, they can not guarantee that I will stop receiving notices from themselves or XXXX. I would like to make sure all future communication on this is between XXXX and XXXX and that this does not impact my credit. Any resources or assistance you can provide would be very much appreciated.

To whom it may concern, My name is XXXX XXXX XXXX and I have been a XXXX XXXX XXXX member for over 20 years ( # XXXX ). I recently rented a XXXX car on XX/XX/XXXX ( Rental ID # XXXX ) at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I put my bag in the trunk of the car, and entered the driver 's door. Upon reaching my destination in XXXX XXXX, I exited the car and noticed that there was a huge dent on the rear passenger door. I did not create this dent nor was I in an accident. I inherited the car this way which had not been adequately reviewed by XXXX staff. That evening, I contacted XXXX and had a lengthy conversation with one of your representatives ( case # XXXX ) in a good samaritan gesture and was told that I would not be responsible for this charge. When I returned this car on Saturday XX/XX/XXXX at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, I was told by the person receiving my car that he did not have time to fill out a return " incident form '' while I was waiting and was asked to sign a blank form. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a bill for {$1500.00} for damages that I did not incur, but rather inherited. The claim number is XXXX. This attempt to collect a debt by Viking Billing Service, was the first notice I had received by any representative of XXXX. In other words, XXXX sent the bill to collection before even contacting me regarding the bill. I believe in justice and fairness, and I have no intention of paying this bill for which I am not responsible for as I did not create the damage claimed. Rather, it is the incompetence of XXXX staff to not identify this damage and take this car out of circulation prior to my rental which is at fault. It is immoral and illegal to attempt to procure a debt from someone who is not responsible for the creation of such debt.

In late XXXX of XXXX I flew into XXXX for a 3 month job. I rented a car upon arrival since I did not have any other transportation. The next day I returned the first car and was charged {$48.00} dollars for it. I then rented a new car under a company contract that same day. I was charged monthly and returned the car on XX/XX/XXXX. After much back and forth I was at last given the final invoice of that car on XX/XX/XXXX and saw it was {$2000.00}. I felt like I was charged more than this so I added up all the charges on my bank statement and realized I was over charged by {$640.00} which was the exact amount of one charge posted to my account on XX/XX/XXXX. I reached put to the XXXX agent assigned to my company and after explaining the issue and being ignored I went to my bank on XX/XX/XXXX and disputed the charge through them. On XX/XX/XXXX they wrote back to me saying the issue was an errant extra month rental that somehow was created. They settled the dispute and awarded me {$560.00}. I moved on with my life, took another out of state job, and now that I'm back home I see I have multiple bills from XXXX dated XX/XX/XXXX billing me for the {$560.00} I was awarded and now they say it has moved to a collection agency on XX/XX/XXXX and there is nothing they can do about it now. They are claiming that their records indicate their car was returned on XX/XX/XXXX which is quite impossible. The job I was working on was all about covid safety and required the whole crew to sequester in a hotel for three months. I spoke with my bank and they say that when they contacted XXXX about the dispute they never tried to fight the bank on it. I do NOT think this is right and am trying every means to get it fixed.

Viking Client Services , LLC XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX illegally contacted my employer and my insurance company to try and recover funds for rental car damages. I rented the vehicle from XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. I was hit by an uninsured motorist on XX/XX/XXXX. They contacted my employer after they seen my discount code on the rental agreement. I contacted Viking via phone and inquired why they contacted my employer without first contacting me. I got three different answers from their employees. One said my private insurance company told them to contact my employer, the other supervisor said XXXX gave them permission and the final supervisor over the whole department stated that no one gave them permission to contact my employer. All of this transpired after I told them a few days before that i was claiming the damages with my credit card company and my private insurance company but to no avail they violated my right any ways. If this wasn't enough damage to my reputation they proceed to over charge me on the damages and have not provided the proper documentation for the loss of use for the rental vehicle, and administrative fee and a diminished value fee that I have requested for and now I am requesting proof of these fees again. However they did provide mr a copy of the XXXX Preferred Rental Terms and conditions of which this is the first time I am seeing it of all the time I have rented with XXXX for the past 5 years. Additionally in the packet they sent me additional pictures of damages on the right side of the vehicle of which was not there when the vehicle was in my possession. I also requested a copy of the voice recording of which i was referred to their compliance officer.

Rented a car from XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, VA from XX/XX/ -- XX/XX/. Returned the car to the local agent at XXXX XXXX ( they close at XXXX XXXX ). Walk around inspection revealed no damage to the vehicle done during my rental. I was out processed and given my receipt. Since the location was closing in two minutes the local agent would have also needed to drive the vehicle downstairs to the garage immediately after I left. Two months after returned the car without damage or incident, I received a claim from Viking Billing Service ( VBS ) requesting {$1300.00} ( claim XXXX ) for damage done to the car. Luckily I had an upcoming rental with that same location ( I am a repeat customer with 50+ rentals from XXXX/XXXX ) in the last several years ) and was able to speak with the very agent who had handled the return of the car in question. I showed her the letter from Viking Billing Service ( VBS ). She looked it up on her computer and said she had no knowledge or record of damage. She went through a stack of papers and recovered the slip of paper showing pre-existing damage to the car. She told me to e-mail or fax that piece of paper to Viking Billing Service ( VBS ) to close the claim. She also mentioned that the car in question had gone to another location after I had returned it. Four calls ( sent straight to voicemail ) with detailed messages left requesting a callback with a e-mail/fax have gone unanswered. But the collection notices keep coming with escalating threats of debt collection. Every time I visit this XXXX/XXXX location they ask me whether I've been able to clear up this claim.

I rented a vehicle from XXXX at XXXX XXXX in XXXX, TX for business travel for a 48-hour trip. I prepaid for my reservation, providing a credit card for the deposit at the time I picked the car up on XX/XX/XXXX. I returned it on XX/XX/XXXX, commuting a total of 72 miles to and from my place of employment and XXXX XXXX during the time the vehicle was in my possession. I filled the tank within 5 miles of the airport and returned the car full. An attendant was not present so I left the vehicle in the lot and returned the keys as instructed. Upon returning home, I noticed an additional charge for fuel, despite the fact that the receipt clearly showed the full tank on return. I was finally able to get the fee refunded. A month later I received a letter from a bill collector on behalf of XXXX claiming that I damaged the vehicle and attempting to collect over {$800.00} with no substantiating evidence and no further information regarding the alleged damage. The car was not damaged, and in fact XXXX did not even attempt to charge my card for any damages or mention them in any correspondence after the return date. The return slip also did not note any damages, simply that the vehicle was returned full and had been driven 72 miles. I believe I am on the receiving end of retaliation by XXXX for not paying additional fees for unnecessary insurance and for complaining about and seeking a refund for an additional fee they were not entitled to collect. I am in the process of retaining legal counsel to resolve this issue as XXXX has not acted in good faith throughout my rental transaction with their company.

In XX/XX/XXXX, I had an accident with a car rented from XXXX. My insurance company paid the claim. XXXX, however, contended there was additional damage that I did n't cause ( was n't noted on the accident report and appeared to be damage caused to the bumper from towing ). In a discussion held in XX/XX/XXXX, a XXXX rep agreed I to not charge for the damage I did n't cause. However, they continued to seek damages for loss of use, even though the repairs to the original damage should n't have taken nearly as long as claimed. When my insurance company and I tried to connect with the XXXX collection department on several occasions to try to resolve the issue, we received no response from XXXX. Then in XX/XX/XXXX, I was contacted again by XXXX with a demand for both the damage I did n't cause and the loss of use. Finally, I contacted the customer experience team at XXXX with my complaint and received a response that the claim would be dropped ( see attachment " XXXX email string '' ) and that the collection agency would be advised to drop the claim. However, in XX/XX/XXXX, I received a collection notice from Viking Client Services ( see " XXXX '' ) seeking payment. I am registering this complaint because the XXXX collection area has been singularly unresponsive to earlier communications, so I am concerned that the matter will continue to go unresolved unless sufficient pressure is brought to bear to get their attention. Ultimately, I just want to make sure that a ) the complaint is dropped and b ) the complaint and attempted collection is in no way reflected on my credit record.

I was charged {$470.00} more than authorized on a rental car through XXXX XXXX. I disputed this amount with my credit card and they reversed the unauthorized amount from my bill. However, XXXX mailed me an invoice in an attempt to collect the {$470.00}. In this letter it gave me the instructions on how to dispute this charge with them properly. I followed these instructions perfectly ( I was instructed to respond in writing within 60 days. I received their first notice on XX/XX/2022 and mailed a response with the details of why this charge was not valid, I confirmed receipt of my written response on XX/XX/2022. Per their first notice they are obligated to respond to my letter and acknowledge receipt within 30 days of receiving it. They did not do this, it also states that they can not try to collect on any amount, nor can they report me during this dispute. They have 90 days to resolve this or explain why it is correct, they did not do this either. The next communication I received was today XX/XX/2022 from a collection agency names XXXXiking Service, I told him this amount was in dispute and XXXX was required to notify me before they are able to report this or attempt to collect on it. I rented a XXXX XXXX from XXXX rental car at the XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, XXXX on XX/XX/2021. At that time I picked up the car, no one from XXXX took the time to review that car for any damages. I personally went around the car and did not see any apparent damage to the vehicle. I returned the car to the same airport on XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. Once again, no one from the XXXX rental agency took the time to review the vehicle. I once again walked around the vehicle and saw nothing different from when I picked the car up. Roughly a XXXX later on XX/XX/2021 I received a letter from Viking Billing Services ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX ) claiming that I owed {$1200.00} for vehicle damage. This is quite clearly a scam. I am starting this route first. My next communications on this will be to the attorney generals of XXXX and XXXX. Since XXXX failed to do any due diligence in inspecting the car either going out or coming back in, I see no basis on which they can make this claim. My next resort if that fails will be to hire an XXXX and seek damages for this clearly transparent attempt at insurance fraud. ( This is my complaint posted with the XXXX ). Next step is the FTC, the XXXX and XXXX Attorney Generals, and the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. And, I am sure I can find others. I attempted to work with XXXX ( the owners of XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and they basically said there is nothing they can do. This company has a XXXX rating with the XXXX and if you google " Viking Billing '' you will come up with a great deal of hits for fraudulent collection attempts.

On XXXX/XXXX/15, Viking Client Services contacted me by mail about a " debt '' of {$670.00} from XXXX Car Rental. I know of no such debt. I worry not so much about me, as about other poor individuals whom they must be approaching with similar tactics : official-looking letters, names of big corporations XXXX like XXXX XXXX, and no back-up or information. I was in a car accident after renting a XXXX rental car the same day I rented it on XX/XX/2019. I called the police and reported it and I called XXXX and reported it. XXXX said to wait until they sent a tow truck. After waiting a couple of hours the police on the scene told me to leave. XXXX ended up sending a tow truck from far away and leaving that car in impound accruing {$300.00} in impound fees. I am only responsible by contract for a loss damage waiver of {$310.00}. They charged me an additional " administration fee '' for {$50.00}. The tow yard invoice shows this admin fee was actually {$45.00}. They are also trying to charge me an additional {$1200.00} without explanation. They claim they are towing fees but the tow yard shows a total of {$580.00} with {$300.00} of that being XXXX 's negligence in not picking up the rental car from the impound lot for days. Additionally, their contract states that if a car is returned after 12 hours a fee of $ XXXX/day will accrue and is capped at 5 days for a total fee of no more than {$75.00}. I did as they instructed, XXXX took possession of the car with the tow, and chose to leave it in impound to accrue {$300.00} in fees. They have threatened to credit report me on these bogus charges. I will pay the Loss Damage Waiver I am contractually obligated for and not a penny more.

I was in an accident in a rental car. I submitted a claim to my credit card company ( XXXX ). The claim was settled. A third party company has called me multiple times over the last month claiming I owe the difference between the settlement amount and the damages despite XXXX confirming that the claim was settled and I do not owe the difference. When I have confronted them, they immediately backpedal and say it was a " mistake '' and they " see a note here '' that things are settled and fine. They quote a lot of numbers and try to be confusing, claiming they are doing everything to be " fair, '' that they record the call to make sure the consumer is treated fairly. This most recent time, when I asked for the caller to spell his first and last name, he would not do so and immediately told me that this was a mistake and he saw that I did n't owe anything. They changed the story from that I owed money to a story that XXXX had not yet settled. The first time they attempted this, I refused to pay until I had written confirmation from my credit card company that the claim had not been settled, and they kept changing the nature of the debt from a " service fee '' to a settlement charge. When I was adamant, they claimed there they just now saw a " note that this has been handled. '' It was clearly an attempt to get me to pay.

My XXXX XXXX was in a vehicular accident in XX/XX/2022 and was totaled by another driver. After the appraisal, I was told that I didnt have GAP coverage. I refinanced the vehicle a year prior and dont recall not applying for Gap. I understand the importance of having it and wouldnt go without it. Now I am being told that I owe Gap and no one at the company could show me where I opted out of it during the refinance. Truth In Lending was not disclosed as far as the finance charge and Gap coverage were concerned. The car accident was not rectified at all. Due to the accident, my credit has steeply declined from a XXXX down to a XXXX. Due to being desperate to get my kids around I had to enter into additional loans that continue to hinder me from my pursuit of happiness as well as no longer being considered for a home. Had the Gap coverage been in the contract in place of the finance charge this would not be a issue. Due to this accident I have been declined additional credit to rectify my situation. After the accident, I applied to get my loan extended so that I may purchase another car under the company since the at fault drivers insurance was going to pay my loan off. My credit was denied multiple times. I have my contract from the refinance and can submit it later if needed.

Ive been renting with XXXX for a long time and never had any issue, so this people from Viking service just started calling me with all sort of threat and demanding that I pay them {$290.00} and if I refuse, they would get a judgment against me and all sort of rubbish. For the sake of this communication, my XXXX member ID is XXXX I know that XXXX went belly-up few weeks ago, but is that a good reason to start charging people fraudulently? On XX/XX/, I rented a car from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and returned it the same day. I went through the normal and thourough check up that they do at the drop off location in XXXX, VA where I wasnt informed of any damaged done to the vehicle ( since there wasnt any ). I received a mail from viking billing service that I have damaged the entire front hull of the rented car and that I had a debt of approximately XXXX XXXX How could the entire front hull be destroyed without being informed noticed at the drop off location and not informing me witn anything at the time? Anyways, I paid insurance for this trip but the insurance requires an incident report showing how and where the damage was done. I dont have an incident report and Ive been asking viking billing service to provide with one for more than a year now ( more than 20 phone calls with them ). Viking billing service did not inform me of the option to dispute. It shouldnt be my responsibility to pay for something that wasnt pointed out to me at drop off. Leaving that aside, the insurance company which I paid for also wont accept to pay for the charges since viking billing service wouldnt give me a valid incident report.

I rented a car from XXXX. When I arrived they did not have the intermediate size car I had reserved and prepaid at a rate of {$73.00} and could only provide a larger car which would be more expensive. They quoted me an additional {$56.00} for the rental. I was not very happy about that but had few options so I accepted. When I returned the car at the time agreed, they instead charged me an additional {$150.00} with no explanation or justification for the increase. I repeatedly phoned the XXXX office who said they would adjust the charges, but they did not. Finally I disputed the additional charges with my credit card company. During this process XXXX had an opportunity to contest the dispute and they did not ( as seen in the letters from XXXX. ) Therefore XXXX refunded me the {$100.00} that was over and above the amount I agreed to pay. I thought this was the end of it until I received a debt collection letter from Viking. Now, this is affecting my credit and I do n't know what to do. I *do not owe this money* - but there seems to be nowhere I can go to establish this fact.

I rented a car from XXXX. I did not inspect the vehicle because I picked it up late at night in a rainstorm. When I returned the car the following afternoon the attendant asked me how I damaged the front corner panel. I was shocked. I had not damaged the car in anyway. I told the representative I spoke with i would wait on the line while she collected the info but she said it was a long process. Really? I believe that XXXX had contacted my employer as well seeking payment of the debt and informed them of the debt and my damage to the vehicle. I do not believe either party should have contacted my employer and endangering my employment status. The rental was in no way business related and I have only recieved XXXX letter from this collection agency which I am in the midst of responding to but their very disturbing actions have precipitated this request for assistance.

My husband and I are being contacted by an individual who claims to be from Viking Client Services via phone, mail, and now email. We even received a call from XXXX out of XXXX, CA saying they were contacted by this same person to try to make a claim against our former car insurance for a fake accident in a rental car that we rented back in XXXX of 2021 out of XXXX XXXX, CA. XXXX has confirmed that we have no accident on our record but also keeps sending us back to contact Viking Client Services. However, I don't believe the individual/s contacting us are even the right Viking Client services. The picture of the accident they sent me is a different car than what is on the rental agreement. The picture of the damage appraisal they sent me even had a date of accident listed that is outside of the time of our rental agreement.

XXXX XXXX XXXX rented out a filthy car that may have had windshield damage at the time of rental. The car did not have a full tank of gas and was very filthy. It was the only car available that evening and my son needed it for work the following day. On the way to work, my son noticed it had a crack that got larger each day. We asked XXXX to supply photos taken of car prior to rental. They refused. We asked for the bill and they did not send it. The XXXX representatives who rented out the car were fired because of fraudulent pratices. We do not trust XXXX and believe we have been scammed by their former employees. XXXX has reported us to Viking Client services. We requested photos and bill from Viking as well. XXXX XXXX is refusing to send pics and bill. Her agressive tone was hostile. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Viking Client Services stating that I owed a debt from XXXX XXXX. I followed up in a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX to Viking disputing that I owed debt and asserting the rights afforded to me under the FDCPA and FCRA. The letter was sent by Certified US Mail and receiving by Viking Client Services on XX/XX/XXXX. No communication was receiving by me from Viking Client Services supporting that the debt actually belongs to me. I received a letter on XX/XX/XXXX dated XX/XX/XXXX that Viking Client Services is attempting to collect the same debt. Viking Client Services did not send a validation notice and failed to respond to my certification letter sent on XX/XX/XXXX. Instead, Viking Client Services sent the aforementioned letter dated XX/XX/XXXX in attempt to collect the unverified debt.

This is the first time Im receiving any form of documentation from either of these companies. Neither company has responded to my written request and I have only received a certified returned receipt from XXXX XXXX. I am still waiting for written validation. I also sent a copy of the letter sent to Viking Client Servicies to XXXX to ensure that each party had the ability to collaborate in this matter.

I utilized XXXX XXXX 's services during a trip to New York during the dates of XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. During the trip, I incurred an additional cost due to tolls, when I did not opt-in to their toll program. However, during the vehicle drop off, I was told that no such costs were incurred and I did not owe any additional money other than what was originally agreed upon. I received a receipt for the agreed upon amount that I paid. 2 months later I received a bill from a debt collection agency for those tolls costs. XXXX XXXX never attempted to reach out to me to get me to pay the fee. It was immediately sent to debt collection with Viking Debt Collections, and because of it I took a serious hit to my credit score. My contact information was available to XXXX.

I prepaid for a rental car through XXXX XXXX - ( a XXXX XXXX ) in late XXXX, 2023 for a 9 day rental. This was a fully prepaid amount to cover the total cost of the car. I was told I had no more charges when I signed off on the agreement at the rental car location ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). When I returned home I was charged over {$500.00} extra for my vehicle. I have noticed according to a number of reviews of that specific XXXX XXXX that this is a very common practice. I have frequently disputed the charges directly with the company and they refuse to resolve the issue. They have since sent my information to a debt collector - Viking Client Services , LLC. I do not owe XXXX a single cent. They are scamming renters by overcharging them hundreds of dollars.

Letter was dated XX/XX/XXXX, VCS Acct # XXXX, creditor listed as XXXXXXXX XXXX with acct ending in XXXX and a last payment date of XX/XX/XXXX, and sent to an older address of XXXX XXXX XXXX. There are a few issues with this allegation : 1 - This debt is not recognized, as I have never held an account of any type with XXXX. 2 - I have not lived at the listed address on their claim for over 8 years, let alone opened any loans in their alleged timeframe. I am uncertain as to where this alleged debt came from, I am only certain that I have not opened any such accounts with that creditor.

Got in a multi-car accidence on a rental ; the other party is at fault. Received a letter from the collection agency dated XX/XX/2020 offers to settle a {$1300.00} debt that they knew I do not own. The scam Viking Client Services repeatedly calls my cell phone, my office phone, and even friends of mine - which I can only assume they got all these numbers by hacking my cellphone Contacts list. I double checked my credit reports to find, as expected, nothing mentioning Viking Client Services or collection accounts. It is not only a scam, but also an infuriating one since they are smearing my name to random friends. I've googled them and loads of other people have complained about their scam demanding money. They falsify their identity as a debt collector.
