After receiving our home Mortgage loan from XXXX XXXX out of NY, the Mortgage was sold to XXXX XXXX 10 days later. Unfortunately, they BOTH continued to bill me and Both claimed to be the holder of the loan. The Both refused to resolve the issue of proper ownership and Both ruined my credit with unfathomable repercussions to my life, marriage and the life of my family and ability to have a future life. After one year of calling and fighting and destroying my credit, I finally got both Banks ( Vanguard and XXXX ) on one call at the same time to resolve the note ownership dispute. They instantly informed each other that " they were recording the call '', they unanimously agreed that they could not speak while being recorded and hung up. I had no recourse but to hire an Attorney who spent over one more year trying to acquire the Original Signatures on the original contracts. After destroying my credit for now, two years and exhausting my cash on Attorneys, I was dismissed from my Attorney, as I had no funds to continue the battle. In desperation to save my Children I acted as my own Attorney, resulting in the identification that XXXX was the true owner of the Paper. After losing the Judgment with no credit or funding left, XXXX denied me a modified loan and demanded the payment in full, knowing full well they had crushed my credit and ability to perform or even get a decent job. Weary from the battle and the economy, my wife of 20 years filed for divorce and eventually Bankruptcy ( Chapter XXXX ). The Note was then assigned to " XXXX XXXX '' who add $ 50K+ in fees and fines and then Assigned it to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX who, added $ 50K+ in fees and fines and then Assigned it to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX . They only identified the note had been assigned Again 90 DAYS ( Ninety Days ) AFTER the fact and will undoubtedly make up fees and Fines of $ XXXX dollars more in this continued Ponzi scheme. I 'm now Divorced, Have no credit and therefore, filed Bankruptcy Chapter XXXX, and currently the 4th attempted Sheriff 's sale is set for XXXX 2018. I was treated fairly or legally. In Short : They harm you, destroy your life, then illegally destroy your credit then steal your home when you can no longer fight. My complaints : 1 ) Double Billing me and destroying my credit 2 ) Refusal to resolve after 1 year of coordinating a call between the two 3 ) Cause of my divorce 4 ) Could not get a job in XXXX XXXX w bad credit and house in foreclosure. 5 ) Could not get a loan Mod after destroying my credit 6 ) Ran me out of money with legal fees ( {$1500.00} still owed ) 7 ) Humiliated in front of neighbors as Police severed me papers or Taped them 18 tall to my front door for all to see 4X!!! and as a result. 8 ) I was politely asked to step down from XXXX XXXX XXXX after my foreclosure, joblessness and financial default was so public XXXX ) My Children grew up in rags with nothing under the XXXX Tree. One year we couldnt afford a tree at all 10 ) My relatives, in-laws, parents and friends think Im a Bum and refuse to work which destroyed our relationships 11 ) Friends and neighbors in the community began to shun me and eventually broke all ties 12 ) My own Children look down on me and have lost respect for me and Im shunned by them too 13 ) I received 1000 phone calls from both banks that harassed us daily and brought my wife to tears regularly. The stress was so great the mail so Dunning and the calls so brutal and accusatory that I ended up in the hospital with XXXX and XXXX issues ( Bills I still owe ) 14 ) As I was unable to get a professional Engineering our cars fell into disrepair and were so unsafe they would not pass inspection. Eventually, repossession was the result and what we have salvaged is so unsafe we dare not drive it but for emergencies which still exists today and we expect reposesion at any minute as we continue to live in fear 15 ) The list goes on with another 10 points if desired??? This FRAUD was committed via US Mail = MAIL FRAUD This FRAUD was committed via Internet = WIRE FRAUD HARASSMENT would be an understatement and PAIN AND SUFFERING has been unimaginable and has ruined my life and the lives of my family and reputation and my future ability to get a job, cars, credit etc, etc ... .. Amazing how the Banks were able to take me from an accomplished XXXX XXXX with years of success and create a broken welfare recipient w/o so much as consideration for the law the individual, the family, the Children and the future of myself and my family.

I have a brokerage account with XXXX XXXX. The firm is generally quite consumer friendly in most of its activities. However, every time a customer places a trade, they are forced to a screen that attempts to force the customer to accept Electronic Delivery of all documents. I understand this is what the company desires, but their methods are very poor. The screen offers XXXX choices, with the default that this and all future documents be delivered electronically. The second choice is the one I choose, which is this trade confirmation, and all future trade confirmations be sent electronically. The final choice is to send this confirmation by mail. These choices are prudent periodically, but the company forcing this screen every time is not right. It would be easy for the customer to click past accidentally, just once to the default setting that Vanguard desires. And by putting this practice is place for every transaction, Vanguard is willingly disregarding the choice of " and all future transactions '' by forcing the screen on every transaction. I have called Vanguard XXXX regarding this screen. Once was several months ago, and they said they had recorded my choice and the screen would not show in the future. However, nothing changed, and it still forced the screen selection on me after every trade. I called again on XXXX XXXX, and spoke with a representative who stated that my choice had been recorded and the screen would not be forced upon me in the future. I made a trade today, and the screen is still mandated by the company. I have no faith in Vanguard making any changes to actually allow the customer choice to be the customer 's choice. I feel that other customer 's are either making an incorrect selection at some point to get to Vanguard 's desired selection, or give up trying to make another selection due to Vanguard 's purposeful repeated asks that just wears them down. I urge the CFPB to research this practice of a financial institution creating purposeful annoyances for customers to try and not have them make an informed decision.

We closed on our mortgage loan on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. We have an FHA XXXX loan with Vanguard Funding LLC. We have been paying our mortgage and property taxes every month on time to Vanguard. We began having issues with Vanguard very soon after closing with emails and phone calls going unanswered. Then we received notice that our property tax payments had not been submitted to XXXX XXXX since closing, and that Vanguard had never attempted to make contact with XXXX XXXX to establish an account for our property. We have since had to pay property taxes to XXXX XXXX out of pocket, in addition to what we already paid Vanguard for the same tax periods. The payments made were approximately {$8000.00} in addition to interest that accrued due to Vanguard never paying the taxes. We also had renovations done to our home under our XXXX loan. 50 % was disbursed to us at closing and the remaining 50 % was to be disbursed after completion of the agreed upon work. After the 1st contractor completed his work, we were trying to get Vanguard to send us the final draw request for several months. Since then the 2nd contractor has completed his work. We now have contractors asking for money owed to them for services rendered, but Vanguard was not responding to our draw requests so we have had to pay contractors out of pocket as well. The payments made were approximately {$10000.00} which was to come from the remaining 50 % of the XXXX loan. We stopped receiving mortgage statements after XXXX XXXX and our XXXX XXXX mortgage check was returned due to the address not being found and no forwarding address left. We then learned ( by XXXX search ) that Vanguard executives are being indicted for fraud by the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NY and Vanguard is no longer operating. We have filed a complaint with the NY XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX and NJ XXXX XXXX XXXX. The latter agency referred us to your office. I have attached documentation of mortgage statements, emails and letters. Thank you for your help.

In XX/XX/2014, I visited Vanguard to open a roth IRA using this link ( https : //investor.vanguard.comXXXX XXXX ). I clicked on the button that read " open your IRA today ''. After following a number of prompts and answering several questions, a savings account was created. I wanted to open a Roth IRA, not a savings account. At the time, there was no indication i was not opening a Roth IRA. I was sold a product that I did not want. The process for opening an IRA was misleading and not straight forward. Vanguard has stated that there's not much they can do. My retirement planning is in jeopardy as a result of this event. I have treated the account as a roth IRA in regards to the contributions and never moved money from it. Vanguard did not properly and transparently disclose the product I was purchasing and their sign up process is not easy to answer. It's likely other consumers have also purchased products they did not intend to due to the lack of disclosure.

I have a number of Brokerage CDs. These products are sold as certificates of deposit. However, these products trade like bonds, meaning that their price can rise or fall depending upon interest rates. These products should not be sold to savers or retired folk who are seeking safety and income. But they are being sold to millions of saver who are now panic selling because the price is falling because short-term rates have risen. Further, the bid/ask spread on CDs which only pay 2 or 2.5 percent typically have a spread of 1 or 2 percent. This is outrageous. The bottom line is that these products are sold as certificates of deposit, but they resemble nothing of what most people know to be a CD. This practice needs to be eliminated. A CD should not trade like a bond - most buyers are not interested in seeing their assumed safe investment pulsate in value with the markets. If they wanted that they would invest in stocks. Something needs to be done about this.

Vanguard will not release information on an account that I had set up with them years ago based on the fact that I do not remember the email address used on the account. I have verified that I have the correct Social Security number, the address used on the account and the name. One confusing factor here is that I am a XXXX but the account may not have that suffix attached to it. Vanguard has stated that since I can not remember the email address they will not give me information on my account. I honestly can not remember the email address used. Also since I no longer live at the address in question I have no way of getting statements that are supposed to come to me. This is a problem since I can not get the account number so I can not update the account. All of this because I can not remember the email. The social security number is correct and is a more important detail.

I applied for a hardship withdrawal from my XXXX through vanguard.I have been waiting two weeks for this process to be completed.I spoke with anXX/XX/XXXX to activate this transaction.I checked my account balance on vanguard website and thought the fund have been deposited.They were not because the initial agent who processed the request, did n't not put my account number in correctly.I spoke vanguard about this issue on XX/XX/XXXX.The agents stated that they can not add the last digit that was missing on my account.They stated that it would be 3-5 business days to reject the request.They stated that it would be an additional 7-10 business day to get my check.my closing date was scheduled for XX/XX/XXXX and will be delayed because of this issue.Total I have 3 weeks total to complete this process.

I talked with the benefits provider of my company to change the contact address to my current address. They did this and I received a letter from Vanguard stating this. Then on Thursday XX/XX/2018 I received a letter stating that my new address was my old adress ( it was showing my XXXX XXXX. as my " new '' address, with my current address of XXXX XXXX XXXX. as my " old '' address. On XX/XX/2018 I called Vanguard and attempted to have them fix the problem. They said several times that I have to talk to my benefits provider in my company. I told them that I did, and that they correctly changed my address to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I believe Vanguard does not know or care about my problem. I am unable to access plan changes or paper mail that they send me because they still think I live at XXXX XXXX.

On XX/XX/2019, I received a letter from Vanguard , Inc. stating that they were going to transfer my Investor Shares in the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX in the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I called them on XX/XX/XXXX and told that I did not want my shares transferred. They did so anyway. I wrote a letter of complaint, but they would not return my shares to XXXX XXXX which I purchased earlier this year. This is fraud. I complained to the XXXX, FTC, and econsumer.gov. Vanguard responded to the complaints with letters. They are attached. They state that they transferred my shares without my permission because the expense ratio was less. I do not care about the expense ratio. I purchased {$3500.00} in investor shares earlier this year and I want them returned to the investor shares.

Called Vanguard around XX/XX/2018 requesting they deposit {$4000.00} dollars in my XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX California. They told me the money would be deposited the following week around Wednesday or Thursday. I told them I need the money now because I was going out of the country. The respose was the same. They told me how much it would cost/ Taxes on the money. I agreed. The Money was never deposited. I was lucky I had borrowed {$1000.00} from the XXXX .They gave me the cash the same day. The money from Vanguard had never been deposited into my account. I had a previous time of very bad business before and am very uncomfortable about calling them. I am retired, worked for XXXX XXXX, and have a 401K. That where I was getting the money from.

At closing there was a point added on to my mortgage for {$2000.00}. They said that I signed for it, and that they have proof that I signed for it. A point or any cost of a point was never discussed during the process of the loan. Throughout the loan process I had issues with the online disclosures that were sent to me, and I could not download the documents. At that time the mortgage representative said that he could handle the electronic signing of the disclosures if I provided him with my passwords, which I did, on 2 separate occasions. I had to redo my password the second time. When the CD was ready last week, I was again unable to access the document to sign or look at it.

Received a confirmation from the Vanguard XXXX , XXXX dated XX/XX/20 of approximately {$63000.00} being " transfer to another account ''. Vanguard later confirmed this was their error. Neither I nor my wife initiated this transaction. It was eventually corrected. However, since I had a previous experience with Vanguard of approximately {$220000.00} gone missing and subsequently corrected, I asked Vanguard what action would be taken to better safeguard my funds. Vanguard called and indicated that they would not share any information regarding actions they may or may not take to enhance the security of my funds.

I get repeated calls from the number ( XXXX ) XXXX. It is always an automated robocall that directs me to hold the line, but ultimately no one is available to take your call and it disconnects. Ive called the number back and it is the same message. Through my own investigation, I have found this company is Vanguard. I have no business dealings with any such company. This company calls up to 5 times per day. They are pointless, robocalls that end the same no one is available. Since no one is available Id like them to stop harassing me.
