In XXXX of 2019 I got a call from United Student Loan Assistance Center. I thought they were a legitimate 3rd party vendor to refinance my student loan. On XX/XX/XXXX19 they took out a payment of {$190.00} ( I WANT THIS MONEY BACK ). The fake contract said I was supposed to pay {$190.00} for 3 months. During this 3 month they were supposed to call XXXX XXXX XXXX and place a forbearance on my account. They called XXXX XXXX XXXX by impersonating me. I know that because a representative from XXXX XXXX XXXX told me that ( I ) placed a call on XX/XX/XXXX19 ( I NEVER CALLED ). I also have this on recording. So, during these 3 months of paying {$190.00} they were supposed to be getting me refinanced with a new company. I verified with XXXX XXXX XXXX that from United Student Loan Assistance Center is not a legitimate 3rd party vendor ( when they told me this they did not hesitate at all ). A representative from XXXX XXXX XXXX told me that there are only very very few approved by the federal government themselves 3rd party vendors that can help people with student loans. United Student Loan Assistance Center tried to take out XXXX onXX/XX/XXXX19, but I cancelled my credit card, so they could not take my money. A representative from XXXX XXXX XXXX also told me that after I would have got my fake bill from my new fake lender that every single dollar I would have paid would not have gone to my loan at all. What would of happen is United Student Loan Assistance Center would have pocketed all my money and XXXX XXXX XXXX would have sent me to debt collection. So not only would I have lost a ton of money, but my credit would have been ruined and if I didnt make payment to XXXX XXXX XXXX I could have faced jail time.

I was reached out to by the United Student Loan Assistance Center on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. The company had told me that they would be able to consolidate all of my student loans and have a low monthly payment for a small cost of {$600.00}. However, I was not informed that this particular company was a third party company, nor that they were not a XXXX XXXX company to actually help me get where I needed to be. I was informed that this was the only way to consolidate all of my student loans to get out of debt. A few months later I was contacted by XXXX XXXX who have been nothing but amazing in helping me consolidate my loans with XXXX. Right now that is in the process of being handled correctly with no charge at all. When I tried to call the United Student Loan Assistance Center to ask them why they had charged me the fee of {$600.00} I was informed that it was to fill out the application for the loan consolidation. I then began to explain that consolidating Federal Student Loans was free the person I spoke with got defensive and provided slander against XXXX XXXX, which again have not asked me for a penny to consolidate my loans and the monthly payment will be based on what I can afford. The gentleman from United Student Loan Assistance Center began to say that XXXX XXXX just wants to get more money out of me, that XXXX XXXX are sales people and that is what they do, collect money from young people like myself who do n't know any better. Which then lead to the United Student Loan Assistance Center could give me a payment of {$0.00} a month to " pay off '' my student loans. I am still not understanding how I pay something off with a payment of {$0.00}

I received a call from United Student Assistance Center. XXXX was the representative and already knew my name and I meant to reach out to see how to qualify for a loan forgiveness program. I went through the process and he proceeded to ask for money after already telling me I qualified for a {$0.00} 240 month payment forgiveness program after making 3 payments of $ XXXX.He strategically used the fact that my debt was {$51000.00} and {$600.00} is nothing compared to that. It made somewhat sense at that time assuming the funds would go toward payments. I managed to give him my card number which I can deactivate at any time I don't even use that account much at all so I wasn't worried about it I start my part time job next week so I used that information I had him push the payment back 3 weeks enough time to investigate and see how legit this was despite him making it seem ok on the phone. After researching a bit I saw they were a real company but they aren't exactly squeaky clean business wise. I have been looking to options directly with the H.E.L.P. team and I plan to pay off these loans by 2025. I do not like scammers I was really trying to explain I was behind on bills and need until XXXX then he said I can reschedule the payment with no issues then after the contract was done he told me about the {$10.00} reschedule fee. He tries to guarantee it wasn't a scam but judging from the research I've done it definitely is.

I was contacted after initially requesting information from the United Student Loan Assistance Center. Somehow, and I know it was stupid of me, but they got A LOT of PERSONAL INFORMATION from me ; including my social security number, debit card, etc. I have since filed a fraud report with the credit bureaus as well as cancelled my debit card and even filed a complaint with the Dept. of Education. I am now terrified after doing my research that I made a terrible mistake. This company wanted me to make payments, told me I was basically being irrational for being concerned and I felt pressured into giving that information out because " student loans are expensive. '' I had emailed the lady back and told her I was not ready to make that commitment. I then received calls from her manager and " the owner '' - if that was him. Before today 's experience I know that I had been contacted by this company before and I told them to quit calling and they refused ; apparently. That 's why I am in this predicament.

I received a phone call supposedly from the dept of ed in regards to my student loans. I was told that my loans were past due and that it would affect my credit. I was also told that I could be eligible to make lower monthly loan payments based off of my income. The person who called knew all of my personal information. The rep helped me to set up automatic payments to be withdrawn from my account before it affected my credit further which we did. 4 payments were deducted from my account in the amount of {$160.00} for XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. Turns out this money was never applied to my student loan balance at all but was a scam from a third party. I have contacted my bank to file a report which an investigation will be conducted.

I paid {$190.00} in XXXX and XXXX for student loans to a third party company named United Student Loan Assistance. I also paid {$190.00} in XXXX to this company. They stated that these three payments would get rid of my student loan debt with XXXX. That turned out to be false. My mother had a parent plus loan with them so that I could attend college. I spoke with XXXX and they stated that they never received these payments I made to the third party. XXXX advised me to file a complaint with the consumer finance bureau.

Last year I talked to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I told them I did n't feel comfortable with their service and they said if I did n't want to proceed further I did n't have to. Today I received a debt collection notice on behalf of them from XXXX attempting to collect on that debt. I never used their services because I can literally do it for free. I am not responsible for this debt because they never did anything for me after I said I did n't want to use their services.

Received call from United Student Loan Assistance Center. They said student loan was going into default and for three payments totalling {$500.00} they would get loan forgiveness due to XXXX. Fell for it but then got to checking and found this is a scam. Have froze my accounts with all three credit agencies and putting stop payment on checking account tomorrow. Wanted to report them so that others don't get scammed too.
