I have already contacted the NJ Dept. of Banking, and due to this being a " federal '' banking issue, they referred me to you ( I know that the NJ Dept. of Banking forwarded to you my file and copied you on a letter sent to me dated XXXX XXXX, 2017 ). I have that documentation and relevant correspondence to submit separately if required, but to quickly summarize my complaint here, I have had fraud committed against me by a mortgage company based in XXXX XXXX, NJ ( United One Mortgage/XXXX XXXX-Owner ). A salesman representing XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, made representations about a HELOC that required some personal funding to help " close the loan '' on a deal handled by United One Mortgage. I was asked to deposit {$5800.00} payable to his company XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NJ. The terms of the short term lending, was I was to have received the original deposit + {$400.00}. That total of {$6200.00} was to be paid " within a few days '' of receipt of those funds. I personally went to his bank and deposited those funds in XXXX XXXX. After weeks of trying to collect my money, I found out that XXXX XXXX was put back in prison for fraud/money laundering!! XXXX XXXX never told me that, but only said that XXXX XXXX had a XXXX XXXX and is n't available. However, XXXX XXXX was VERY familiar with my financial arrangements, and he said he would " personally take care of it immediately. '' He sounded sincere and convincing. I did NOT appreciate being lied to about the circumstances surrounding his salesman, but I overlooked that fact, and I let him know that. I only wanted the money due to me. To show my good faith approach, I even referred a friend to do business with his firm AND I did n't want to " hit him '' with additional interest on the money that United One was responsible for. I admired the fact that he took full responsibility for the theft and was wanting to " make good '' on the debt and maintain a relationship to expand his business opportunities. Well, after weeks of phone calls trying to get the status of my money, XXXX XXXX decided to withdraw on his financial obligations!! He became very angry and very disrespectful of me. He obviously was being defensive in his position, but all he did was waste many months of my time chasing what was owed to me. He ended the conversation by saying ... '' I do n't give a XXXX, and you should do what you need to do ''!! When I said I would file a complaint, he hung up abruptly.
