This is being submitted with help by the XXXX. I took out a loan in XXXX with XXXX. It was XXXX XXXX when I took the loan out according to my records. I borrowed {$710.00} and repaid, I believe every two weeks, in the amount of {$210.00}, through XXXX of XXXX. While I do n't remember everything from that far back, I do have an email from XXXX in XXXX XXXX saying I had to call them to complete a new loan request, however, I never received any subsequent notifications that I actually obtained a new loan with a new loan amount and new payment amount, as I had for the XXXX loan. At the time, I was advised by my bank to close my account and open another one because they thought it could be possibly be illegitimate, which I did, as my records show. I received XXXX email from XXXX after the account change, but I never heard from them again. I have later realized that the loan I had was considered void in my state of Virginia. I received a some crazy debt collection calls several months ago, but the debt buyer just kept saying I owed money, but never provided any proof, even when asked. On XXXX XXXX, I received another set of calls. I returned the missed calls, to a woman, XXXX XXXX, who told me I owed them, for an XXXX loan. She was actually with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I asked her to provide proof for the debt, because I had received calls several months earlier from a different company. She emailed me a debt collection letter as the proof I had asked for, but there was no actual proof or any documentation from XXXX, as to what was borrowerd, how much was paid, or how much was left on the loan before and after going to collections with them. The letter they sent as proof of the debt also disclosed that the owner of the debt was United Debt Holdings, LLC, a company I had never heard of or heard from. I did n't receive any other contact or proof documentation that I had asked for, but I had received notifications from my credit monitering service on XXXX different occasions that XXXX XXXX XXXX had negatively reported on all XXXX credit bureaus. I was still waiting for the proof I requested, but it never came, so today I called back the initial number from XXXX XXXX, and talked to a XXXX XXXX, with XXXX XXXX XXXX. He said they are not the ones that have to provide proof, that I was the one who need to prove to them that I did n't still own on the XXXX account. I was shocked by that statement. I really did n't want to deal with this without any documentation, but I asked if I was to try to pay, how much would hey be willing to take. XXXX said that the owner of the debt, United Debt Holdings would n't be willing to take anything less than 50 % of the {$1500.00} they say I owed. I asked if I paid that amount ( 50 % ) would that take it off my credit. XXXX said no, the only way they would take it off my credit is if I paid the full amount of {$1500.00}, in essence he was extorting me out of the other 50 % for themselves to take it off of my credit reports. Also when I look at XXXX XXXX, it shows the open date of the loan as being XXXX XXXX of XXXX. The loan was clearly from XXXX, and until I received documentation from the original loan, with proof of exactly what was owed, an accounting, and proof that the loan is n't void in Virginia, I do not think they should be putting it on anyone 's credit. I am also puzzled why no proof is necessary on the part of the debt collector to show why so much was owed, and where any fees were added along the way. By my own records and calculations, I paid at least {$1500.00}, likely more on the loan before XXXX of XXXX, more than would ne required, as the loan is void in Virginia. The most troubling thing to me is the lack of proof on what was owed.

XXXX XXXX, for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Tx called my sister-in-law at XXXX ( pst ) and told her they were going to arrest me for felony check fraud. She called me with the number he gave her ( this is the first time i 've heard anything about this account ) and i called him directly at XXXX. He answered the phone I told him who i was and then he said " ah, yes, XXXX XXXX we have your info right here. If you do not pay us {$1200.00} by XXXX we are going to issue a FELONY WARRANT for your arrest in XXXX County Idaho. '' I asked him what company he worked for and who he was collecting this debt for and he refused to say. He also refused to give me the account number of said debt. He told me that the debt collector he worked for had a " no contact order '' against me and that if i tried to contact them it would be harassment so not to bother. He offered to take a down payment of 60 % and payments for the remaining amount. He told me he 'd give me until XXXX ( pst ) to make payment arrangements and if he did n't hear back from me by then he would process the warrant. I asked why i had n't been notified about this sooner and he said they tried but got no answers to the letters sent. I asked what address they had for me and he refused to answer. I told him that if this debt was mine that I had no problems taking care of it and then asked to have new mail sent to the proper address so that i could verify if it was real. He said he could n't mail anything cause it would take too long, i then asked for an email of proof of debt. He took my email address down and did email me a letter. ( It 's really fake looking. Like a child could type up this letter kinda thing. ) He told me that if i wanted to avoid 90 days in jail that i would take care of it right now while on the phone with him. I told him I had to make some phone calls first before i could pay it in full if it was a real debt i owed. He told me that when i called him back that he would transfer me to the right person so that i could make payment. I then asked for that persons direct number and he refused to give that to me as well. I called my local sheriff 's department and they assured me that I would not be arrested for this and that this was just another scam and not to pay. I also called the original debtor and spoke with their collection department. I do have a debt with them and they transferred it to United Debt Holdings in 2013. She also went on to say that what XXXX XXXX was doing was illegal and that it was a scam and not to pay them a dime. She gave me the number to United Debt Holdings and told me i would get a voicemail and to leave a message. I did so after getting off the phone with her. They have still not called back. This XXXX XXXX was yelling at me and telling me that he 's just a messenger and not a debt collector but yet he 's asking me to pay money so now i 'm confused. He was very rude and refused to give me any information that a normal debt collector would have. I have witnesses to this phone call as well. I put it on speaker phone for my neighbor to hear just in case this was real.

In XX/XX/XXXX I was making payments to United Debt Holdings for a debt with XXXX XXXX. I was making payment of XXXX and I paid them off for that bad debt. However, they kept charging my debt card monthly even after I had completed all required payment. I tried to call the number I was given for them and could never get in touch with anyone. I had to cancel my debit card to stop them. I tried for months to get the payment that was not supposed to be taken back to me, but could never talk to anyone. I just let it go, thinking there was nothing I could too, I was younger and did not know better. In the last year I have been cleaning up my credit report, and paying items slowly as they come. A few months ago, I got a call from my supervisor that someone was calling for me at work, talking to several people saying if I did not call them back I was going to jail and someone was going to be at my job in two hours, saying I missed a court date. My boss gave me the number and I called. They claim to be XXXX XXXX XXXX, they said I owed over XXXX to an old debt. At first they could not give me the exact name of the company I owed. That should had given me red flags, but at the time I was so upset. They eventually said it was with XXXX XXXX. Then I said I had paid them off years ago, and he said could I send him proof. I went home and tore up everything looking for something to show I paid them off. But I had nothing. I don't even have the same bank anymore. So when I called back I was forced to accept that I had to set up payments even though I knew I had paid it, but had nothing to send this company. Otherwise they would had sued me. They only wanted a debit card, could not using a checking account unlike the other companies I was dealing with, because as I said I was cleaning up my credit report and making payment to companies on my own. Well last week I was going through paper work, and found a book I wrote down my monthly payments. And there it was XXXX XXXX, {$98.00} a month, last payment was in XX/XX/XXXX, and I had a phone number by it. I knew I had paid it. So I canceled my debt card so that this company could not get another dime from me. I had already made XXXX payments of XXXX to them, a total of XXXX that I did not even owe. I looked online, and saw complaints after complaints, the same stories of what happened to me. You can not even find the company online ; the phone number is not online. I paid off XXXX XXXX with United Debt Holdings, and they took more than they should and did not report to the credit bureau. Oringally paid off XX/XX/XXXX with United Debt Holdings Contacted by XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX Made two Payment of {$100.00} XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX about debt already paid

This is an extremely upsetting case of possible UDAAP violations. I received a very threatening call from a XXXX XXXX - NO company name left. The message said that she was an independent courier and that she will be at my home during my work hours. She advised that if I was not available at this time which I will not be she will be forced to mark me as non-complaint/refusal and additional action may be taken towards me. Additionally she left a number for me to call the " filing party '' insinuating suit or formal filing. The number left was XXXX. This was a call to XXXX XXXX. I called the number and spoke with a XXXX XXXX who provided me the last four of the SSN. What is this was not me? The appropriate practice would be to ask the consumer to validate. I advised this person that I wanted validation of this alleged debt via mail and did not want any additional phone communication and that I did not want anyone coming to my home and if so I would contact the police he advise that he would send a police escort if necessary. This is a direct threat to my safety and my home and I am unaware of any such debt! He offered to email me the validation I again requested all communication via mail. HE REFUSED. Additionally I advise him of the unprofessional and threatening tone of the carrier he advised this was not his companies responsibility and he was not sure who the carrier was. I requested additional information as I am unsure why he would not have this information. He said it could possibly be XXXX courier. He stated this was for a debt from XXXX XXXX ' XXXX from 2013. Again I am not familiar with this debt. He informed me that I was on a " Federally recorded line '', this is an attempt to intimate me and refused to provide validation outside of email and stated someone is coming to my home again with police if necessary. I advised him I do not want any additional phone calls or home visits, he stated that then this will be handled in court. I asked him to clarify if he was threatening me with a lawsuit and he said no I am just letting you know what your options are before we sue you. I provided him my attorney name and phone number and ask him to not call me again. Subsequently he proceeded to contact my employer line and gave a false name to the reception area to be transferred to my voicemail. He stated his name was XXXX XXXX when it was actually XXXX saying that he wrote the attorney number incorrectly and wanted to " give me the opportunity '' to provide the correct attorney name " otherwise '' he wishes me the best of luck in the courts. I asked the front desk to document this false name and I also saved the message. This is a clear violation of UDAAP. This was uncomfortable and very threatening.

I was called by a blocked number today. The guy told me he was going to come to my work tomorrow to " serve '' me. He said he just wanted to give me the heads up. Obviously, this shocked me. I asked him what charges and from whom. He said he could not tell me that, but he could give me the party 's number ( XXXX ) and my case number. I immediately called the number he gave me. It was XXXX XXXX XXXX. My " case manager '' ( XXXX XXXX ) says I owe them {$2900.00} from a XXXX XXXX XXXX loan I got on XXXX/XXXX/12. XXXX said that if I did not resolve this today, I would be served by the guy that originally called me, who would be accompanied by a uniformed officer and that my boss would also have to sign the papers. I asked why they were coming to my work. He told me that they would try my house first, but if they failed to find me there, they would go to my work. I asked when they were planning on doing this. He said between XXXX and XXXX tomorrow. He told me I could face up to 1 year in jail and have to pay an additional {$1000.00} penalty because they are charging me with check fraud under section XXXX of some law. I asked him if I could get a copy of the application from the original debtor and he said no, stating that the application was to be used against me in court. I told him I was going to need to call him back, because I was at work and a bit in shock from what he was saying. He said he would be able to give me until XXXX to call him back, or he would move forward with these charges and he gave me his extension ( XXXX ). After getting off the phone with him, I called XXXX XXXX XXXX to verify this debt. They said they sold my debt to UDH, but UDH is known for allowing other debtors collect on their behalf. She said many times, these are scams and get people to pay way more than what they actually owe. I was on the phone with her for a long time while she tried to find this company and/or anything about XXXX XXXX. The only thing she found said that they had their license revoked a few years ago. She was very sweet and reassured me that I was not going to jail and that she would contact UDH to notify them of this situation. She also gave me UDH 's number to follow up with them myself. I called UDH, but they were closed and the voice recording asked me to leave my phone number and my full social security number.. umm, no thanks! I then called XXXX XXXX back at XXXX XXXX XXXX ( at XXXX ). XXXX did n't answer. I left him 2 voice mails from XXXX to XXXX. NO CALL BACK!! Now, I have to go to work tomorrow in fear that a cop and some guy will show up to serve me, to publicly humiliate me and/or threaten me with more scary tactics like " jail time '' and " XXXX in penalties ''.

I started receiving calls and voicemails stating the call is regarding a notice to appear in court that will be processed. The voicemail states I am facing allegations regarding my social security number ( XXXX provided the last XXXX of my social on my voicemail ) in connection with a check, misrepresentation for income assistance. The party states this is the final attempt and is asking me to call for a phone deposition to file for dismal, because the accusing party and their representatives are moving forward to have me severed for legal action. Once I receive an order to appear, I will not be able to dispute the consequence rendered because they can prove I disregarded the matter. I currently work for a collection agency in XXXX, Texas. I temporarily retained my company 's general counsel, to contact the company leaving me voicemails. The representative with this company, XXXX XXXX, refused to confirm the name of their company. My voicemail states XXXX XXXX, the representatives provided the name XXXX XXXX and when I called back I was given XXXX XXXX XXXX as their name. After being hung up on multiple times, we spoke with XXXX XXXX 's " supervisor '' XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX refused to provide the companies address and eventually stated their company no longer wishes to do business with me and will not speak with me any further. Prior to involving my general counsel, I called the company on my own and was informed the debt is for Check-N-Go and is now with United Debt Holdings. I asked the representative, XXXX XXXX, if they were a collection agency, as I was not provided the Mini Miranda and was told they were retained by United Debt Holdings. During the call, I asked if the representative if his company or United Debt Holdings purchased my debt and the party refused to answer my question. I attempted to contact United Debt Holdings to verify they in fact are now handling my alleged debt and outsourced my account to another company. I have not been able to reach anyone with this company phone and their recordings prompts me to leave a voicemail including my name and social security number, which I do not wish to do.

We 've been receiving phone calls saying they 're an attorneys office XXXX XXXX and XXXX, who also said were with debt holding group trying to collect a debt. The memo I have a attached is what they sent me when I asked for verification of the debt owed even at the bottom it says they 're not a law office. Numerous time they assured me they were n't scamming me because they 're an attorneys office. First they told my husband he owed {$900.00} then told me he owed around {$700.00} when we checked with the original store he took the payday loan from it was only {$590.00} they sold it to debt holding group and then they sold it to XXXX group XXXX XXXX. The told him it was a felony if he did n't pay and that they were taking us to court if we did n't pay them that day ( Thursday XXXX XXXX ). When we ask them to send us verifying documentation about the debt we were sent a word document that did n't even have the companies address or correspondence on it. We have never received any mail or previous phone calls about the debt. They said they sent us mail but they had the wrong address when they sent the verification of the debt. They also said they had him on video going into the apartment which again they had the wrong address. My husband also had taken out this payday loan before we were married and my name is no where on the account and he never gave them permission to discuss the debt with me and when I called I expected that but they were more then willing to give me any information I asked for and were very rude with me when I confronted them about sharing his information with someone they did n't even verify who it was. I have read it is against the law in Texas. We ca n't find any information about this company online expect that they have been scamming people. If my husband does in fact owe a debt we would like to take care of it but we 're afraid to pay these people regardless of their threats of taking us to court because it does seem like a scam. We were wondering how we should proceed the debt is n't on his credit report and we do n't know if these people are even legit. Please help.

Hi, My situation did not really fit a few of the questions / topics to pick from so I just picked the topics as relevant as I was able to. I am in the process of cleaning up my credit and paying past debts / getting accounts out of the derogatory / collections status and I notice that there is a company abbreviated XXXX/XXXX. I do acknowledge that I owe the debt. This account was opened in XX/XX/XXXX and it was last reported in XX/XX/XXXX with an outstanding balance of {$630.00} ; the payment statuses are : XXXX - " charged off as bad debt, purchased by another lender '' / XXXX - " purchased by another lender, unpaid balance reported as a loss by credit grantor '' / XXXX - " account transferred or sold, charged off account. '' I called the company directly and they informed me that it has been sold to United Debt Holdings and provided me with their phone number. I reached out to United Debt Holdings several times looking for live person but got a voicemail instead promising that someone will reach out to me 24-48 hours. After making several more phone call attempts, I searched the internet for their website and other valuable information I can use to get in contact with them. After trying to get to their website with no avail, I checked the company out on the XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). Much to my surprise, I find out that they have went out of business, they're not accredited with the XXXX, they are numerous complaints similar to my situation and that United Debt Holdings have been giving people pretty much to same responses. There was a response from United Debt Holdings on XX/XX/XXXX that they are no longer in existence and all assets have been transferred to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I tried calling them but it's the same situation at United Debt Holdings. I'm devastated to experience all of this as a person that is trying to improve their credit / finances, etc. I want to be able to pay my debt without having to worry if it's a scam / negatively affecting my credit. If you're able to help shed light on this situation, I would greatly appreciate it.

I was informed around XXXX/2017 by my mother in law that a debt collector was repeatedly calling her asking where I was. She was never given a company name or an agent name, but was given my social security number and birth date without asking for the information. My spouse then contacted the company and again they did not divulge who they were but did say to her that the original company was XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and it was an online payday loan, they freely gave my sensitive information out to her as well as other people by the same name as me. She was given their social security numbers and birthdays without asking for them. I then contacted the company to try to find out what the situation was and was told I was going to be prosecuted for a worthless check for a payday loan I had gotten in XXXX of last year. I was never informed of my rights or briefed on whether or not the call was being monitored or recorded, all they seemed to be concerned about was getting my credit card information. As of 5 minutes ago they are still contacting my mother in law and wife threatening prosecution and possible jail time if I do n't make a payment today. I have not received any written correspondence regarding this matter from them or my counties prosecuting attorney. I do not know my rights in this matter but I feel as if my name is being dragged through the mud unfairly by this " company '' to anyone that will answer the phone for them by freely discussing that I have a " worthless check '' and giving out my personal information and I know for a fact they are freely giving peoples personal information out without being prompted, men who have the misfortune of having a similar name as me. I fully understand paying what I owe and for what I 've borrowed but I do n't feel as if this " company '' is treating my information as sensitive as they should as well as other peoples. They call from numbers that come up as " private ''. I feel as myself and my family are being harassed and I 'd like to know my rights regarding this matter please. Thank you

When attempting to obtain a mortgage loan, my lender notified me of an outstanding balance with XXXX/XXXX in the amount of {$720.00} I contacted the lender on XX/XX/XXXX in an attempt to pay off the balance. They said that they were not able to take the balance from me because the balance/debt had been sold to UDH ( see below ). For all resolution, I needed to contact them, pay the balance and then UDH would send them a release letter, and then update my credit report accordingly. I contacted United Debt Holdings ( UDH ) at the number provided by XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX. The recorded message on that line was that the business had closed. I searched through the internet and found that the business closed on XX/XX/XXXX. I also found several complaints on the Better Business Bureau and on the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( https : XXXX ). I filed a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and was informed on XX/XX/XXXX that they attempted to contact the business, and also found that it was closed and offered no recourse for resolving the discrepancy. I have attached a copy of the response from the XXXX XXXX XXXX to this complaint. Based on the other complaints that are published for this company, I believe that it would have been difficult to clear anything with them. I had intentions of taking care of the debt, but have no one to contact. The other critically important pieces of this is that I was not contacted by UDH or XXXX that the debt was sold to another agency in an attempt to clear the balance. I had not opportunity to clear it with UDH even before they went out of business. I believe that it should also be noted that I am currently a customer of this company, and am in excellent standing with them, and have not had any issues with this originator of the debt on my current debt. Additionally, I believe that it should be considered that they issued an additional line of credit to me, along with credit increases since XX/XX/XXXX because of my standing with them.

On XX/XX/XXXX my friend called me upset because a lawyer called her saying they were sending deputies to her place of business to serve me with papers for a lawsuit. She informed them that I did not work there and was not there but the woman continued to be mean and told her to give me a message which was her phone number and a case number. I called the number to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and was told by XXXX that it was regarding a credit card from XXXX. The woman claimed the card had a {$500.00} limit and I owed the bank {$700.00}. She went on to say I was being sued for over {$4000.00} ( she said the extra {$3000.00} was for court fees ) and a wage garnishment would be starting. I told her I had no idea what this debt was and asked why hadn't I been contacted before. I also asked why they called my friend 's store looking for me. I have lived at the same address for seven years and have received no mail whatsoever regarding this matter. I've had the same cell phone number for 15 years. The woman claimed the business was listed as my employer at the XXXX County Clerk 's office. After hanging up I contacted the clerks office and was told they don't have that type of information. After going back and forth about me having no idea what this debt is about, I was told to ask for a chain of title from the bank that issued the card. I called Matrix the bank and was told they didn't have any information before XX/XX/XXXX and was told to contact United Debt Holdings where I was told to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX where no one answers the phone. I have left several messages. The recording says someone will contact you within 24 to 48 hours but its almost two weeks since my first call. I just want proof of this debt and I want this lawyer 's office to stop calling my friend. I also find it odd that this debt isn't on my credit report and just surfaced out of nowhere. XXXX has very bad ratings online and I can see why.

On XXXX XXXX of XXXX, I took out a payday loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Indiana. The amount that I borrowed was {$600.00}. The loan was due to be paid on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. On XXXX XXXX, I and my family moved out of the apartment complex we were living in. I forgot to pay the payday loan that was due. I got a phone call from XXXX XXXX XXXX that this money was due. Instead of us going in to pay the loan amount due in person, the company always took the amount out of our bank account. There was not enough money in the bank for them to collect the money for the loan. That is when the problems started between us and XXXX XXXX XXXX. They harassed us about this money due. We did not hear anything from them for a while. I was going to try to take out a payday loan where I live now. When I tried it, they denied me because they said that it showed that I had an open loan out and I could not get the payday loan. I have called XXXX XXXX XXXX to try to get this settled. They gave me the number to their collections department. When I called the collections department, they said that they had sold my account to a collection agency. The person talking to me gave me the number to the collection agency. I called that agency and all I got was the person that I was supposed to talk to their voice mail. I left a message and he or she did not get back to me. I am still trying to get in contact with this company and am not having any luck. Please see what you can do to help me get this matter settled. I recently tried to apply for a payday loan and got the same answer. That there is an open loan out there and I can not get a payday loan because of this problem. Thank you in advance for your help.

I RECEIVED EMAIL STATING LOAN WAS PAID IN FULL. THEN I STARTED RECEIVING PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS WEEKS LATER HARASSING ME STATING I DID NOT PAY. AND THEY WERE GOING TO COME AFTER ME. I PLACED MULTIPLE THREE WAY CALLS WITH XXXX XXXX XXXX AND MY BANK PROVING PAYMENT WAS DRAFTED, COMPLETED, CLEARED AND ALL WAS GOOD. A FEW WEEKS LATER XXXX XXXX XXXX TRIED TO DRAFT DOUBLE WHAT WAS OWED AGAIN AND MY BANK FLAGGED IT. I HAD MORE MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS WITH XXXX XXXX XXXX AND THE BANK. XXXX XXXX XXXX ASKED ME TO SEND BANK STATEMENT SHOWING WHERE THEY DRAFTED THE MONEY. I DID. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE AND LOAN WAS PAID IN FULL. 2 MONTHS LATER AND AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF ARGUING FIGHTING AND PROVING TO XXXX XXXX XXXX THEY WERE IN THE WRONG I WAS TOLD EVERYTHING WAS CLEARED. I CLOSED MY BANK ACCOUNT BECAUSE OF SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY WITH XXXX XXXX XXXX AFTERWARDS. AND THE PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS STOPPED. NOW HERE WE ARE 21 MONTHS LATER AND TODAY I 'M RECEIVING PHONE CALLS AND LETTERS FROM A LEGAL TEAM ( XXXX XXXX WITH XXXX XXXX XXXX ) THAT THERE HAS BEEN ACTION STARTED AGAINST ME AND XXXX XXXX XXXX IS SUING. AND ALSO FROM A XXXXXXX PROCESS SERVER FOR XXXX XXXX XXXX THAT SHE IS ON THE WAY TO MY HOUSE AND JOB TO SERVE ME AND IF I DO N'T SIGN PAPERS THERE WILL BE MORE LEGAL ACTION AND PROBLEMS TO COME FROM THIS. On XX/XX/XXXX, I checked my credit file via XXXX XXXX and noticed a new collection account with XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX with XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$150.00}. I immediately contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX regarding this debt. Speaking with a representative, I inquired about this debt only reported with XXXX ( XXXX 's recent breach caused major concern ). The representative stated that this debt opened in XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX XXXX and went delinquent in XX/XX/XXXX. I explained to the rep that I had n't had a XXXX XXXX account in many years and that I never initiated a loan with XXXX for an amount of {$150.00}. Furthermore, I explained to the rep that the recent breach with XXXX, led me to believe that this was a case of identity fraud or something of the like. I went on to explain that should I had owed XXXX, I would have received mail correspondence and phone calls regarding the matter ; I have never received a dunning letter involving this alleged debt, and that I have lived at the same address since XX/XX/XXXX. The rep stated I needed to file a police report, I explained that by law, both the FCRA and FDCPA requires both the credit bureaus and collection agencies to forward a dunning letter and the original contract information with signatures validating any debt owed BEFORE a file is placed in a consumers credit file. The rep explained that they do not send dunning letters until AFTER they have spoken with a debtor. My response was that they were in violation of the FCRA and the FDCPA as that is not what the law mandates.

I took out a loan through XXXX last XX/XX/XXXX. I have been contacted by a law firm in Texas called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, saying that I owe {$700.00}. I live in Ohio and this company is in Texas. I contacted XXXX, and my debt was sold to United Debt Holdings ... and the debt was for {$500.00}, verified by XXXX, and UDH. United Debt Holdings told me that they sold it on XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I never received anything via mail from any of the creditors, let alone from a law office. I was told that I had to pay in whole over the phone or set up payment arrangements, or further action would be taken. The only person who has contacted me from this law firm is a woman named XXXX XXXX. They sent me an electronic agreement to sign and scan back, but on the paper it listed XXXX XXXX XXXX ... which is based out of Georgia. None of this makes sense since I am in Ohio. I have not paid anything, nor did I sign the agreement after cancelling my credit card, thinking it might be a scam. They automatically asked for my financial information over the phone, and never gave me the option of disputing the debt. This law firm has my SSN, address, full name, etc.Since I cancelled my card causing the XX/XX/XXXX payment to not go through, they were proceeding even though I never signed the agreement, I have received numerous messages about how I forfeited the agreement, and further action will be taken without my involvement.

Today I was called on my cell phone twice by a woman named XXXX XXXX. This lady tells me she is calling me about a claim she wants to serve. I asked her what she was talking about and she said she just wanted to verify my address so she can come confront me. I hung up to call the police as I felt threatened. She then calls my job and tells my employee ( I 'm a XXXX XXXX ) that there is a claim that I have outstanding and she wants to verify the address. I called the number they left. They literally refused to give any information about themselves except to say they are XXXX XXXX. They flat out said they are not a collection agency. They refused an address ( physical or post office box ). They refused any information about corporate. They said XXXX is a " locator '' but they do n't know for which company. I finally figured out what the call is for. It 's a collection agency over a loan I forgot to pay on. I called the original creditor. They said all United Debt Holders ( a collection agency ) at XXXX. I called there. They stated that XXXX XXXX is in fact a collection agency. I advised them they violated the FDCPA and I 'm filing a complaint. I will pay this bill but I wo n't give out my financial details to someone who refuses to provide me any verifying details. I want them disciplined for their illegal actions. Then, I will pay this debt.

Received a robocall indicating that a judgement claim was filed against me and I was scheduled to be served by an 'officer ' the following day at work or home. The number that called me was XXXX. The recording stated that I needed to call XXXX. I called the # in the recording, XXXX answered, gave my name & this is the story he spewed. XXXX states that I have a couple of outstanding loans that total {$1100.00} with fees of {$280.00} bringing the total to {$1400.00}. XXXX stated that he can stop the claim being filed with the court with a settlement offer of {$880.00}. I asked who is the original debtor. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX which is defunct according to the BBB website ) is the debtor with the original loan date of XXXX. XXXX stated that the debt was validated as a new debt as of XX/XX/2019 via United Debt Holdings whom picked up and reissued this debt. I asked XXXX whom he worked for, XXXX stated he is not a debt collector but works on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX out of XXXX Ga. I asked for an address he refused. I asked for validation of this debt, XXXX stated that XXXX XXXX XXXX already validated the debt. XXXX made sure to reiterate that if I do not decide to pay the settled amount he offered I would be served with a judgement against me and an XXXXfficer will be serving me most likely at work.

I received a call from XXXX this person left a voicemail stating I had an outstanding debt with XXXX. He provided my birth date and the last XXXX of my SSI number. He said I needed to return the call or he would be taking legal action with the State of Idaho. His exact words were " Summons for the state of Idaho for theft of services-check fraud. You can contact the party directly to clear this up '' and left the number above. That same day about XXXX minutes after I received this call my mother received a call. He told my mother his name was XXXX XXXX with the Idaho XXXX and that he was looking for me. He went on to say that I had a warrant out for my arrest and that it would be embarrassing if he had to pick me up at work. He gave my mother and name and number ( number listed above ) and told her I could resolve this by contacting that number. I called the warrants department in Idaho. I do not have a warrant out for my arrest. Also I did take a loan from XXXX several years ago. To my knowledge this was included in my bankruptcy. Regardless, this company is threatening and falsely representing itself. When you call the number above they refuse to provide any information about the so called officer or " the account '' but want you to settle by giving them a debit card number.

I was called twice by XXXX twice on Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX, 2017. I was called by a man who threatened to sue me. He stated that he was on his way to my house location to handle my situation. He also knew the type of car I drove and said he has a tracker on me and will find me and before he hung up he said " Good luck. '' I know for a fact that is not proper collection policies and definitely violates the telecommunications act. I did some researching and the name of the company is United Debt Holdings. I immediately called their XXXX number to set up payment arrangements to avoid getting sued, but once I did that I realized they tricked me with illegal talk like suing and arresting me. The XXXX number is XXXX and I spoke with a guy name XXXX He took my debit card and set up payment arrangements for a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Please understand that his definitely violated the collection policy. This is not fair how they are threatening others for a small debt like a phone.

I managed somehow to pay United Debt Holdings. Which I found out later on never to pay a debt collector without validating the debt first. In previous conversations I found out that United Debt Holdings outsourced the account to another debt collection company that is no longer in business.
