I had a loan that I defaulted on because of an unforseen circumstance in my finances. I never heard anything from the company. Then last week my Dad gets a call telling him they are going to turn me into the IRS and got him all worried. When I called them they threatened me. They said they were going to take my car, garnish my wages, have me arrested, and file with the IRS. One way or another they were getting there money. I was bullied into making Payment arrangements with them. They emailed some document to me but I could n't open it up without signing it first. Ithe was just telling me I was making payments to them for the next 24 months of what they said they would only take. I still up to this point had nothing in writing from them of the debt or amount owed. Then they started calling my work and even left a message on my bosses phone wanting to take my wages. I asked them not to contact me at work. They still called my work. I sent them in writing and called several times asking for themail to mail me paperwork. They said they did back in XXXX but last week they said they did n't have my address. I have checked and there is no Judgement filed against me to do with this debt. They belittled me by calling me names, telling me what I needed to do, and bullied me with threats. I made my boss and HR department aware of everything. I called the bank that holds the note on my car and even told everyone that gets a call from them about me to block their number. It has become way to much to deal with. My XXXX has peaked and now my health is taking a toll already because they wo n't stop with the threats and it has only been. A little over a week. The company is United Check Recovery Bureau , Inc. I never get the same person on the phone and they keep bouncing me back and forth with the person they claim holds my account. They are mean and very rude.

This is a a follow-up response to the following case number : XXXX. In regard to the response that the company responded with ( filled with falsehoods ), this person responding is not accurate and in the response, and is stating out-and-out lies. This organization has in fact, contacted me NUMEROUS times ( 6 times -- and the 1st conversation was recorded from my end, and the other 5 times I have copies of the message that was left ). I stated from the first conversation that I DID NOT WANT TO BE CONTACTED BY TELEPHONE OR AT MY JOB BY TELEPHONE ... .I also clearly stated THAT I WANTED VERIFICATION AND A PAPER DOCUMENT MAILED TO ME ... this XXXX XXXX responded " Why -- why do you need that?! I can email you something. '' However, no email was ever received. And according to the FDCPA, a verification must be sent by mail after the initial telephone contact. This person has contacted my distant relatives ( they have already filed a notarized statement for my attorney ) that clearly demonstrates they were contacted AFTER this disreputable company knew exactly where I lived and how to contact me. They were just calling distant relatives to intimidate and scare me. Finally, I HAVE RECORDINGS WHERE THESE BOTTOM FEEDERS imply legal action and such from the courthouse .... I will be pursuing this to the criminal and civil extent that I can. I am also in contact with ( 3 ) other parties who have been victimized by this disreputable company -- I found these other parties on other blogs complaining about this company and I reached out to them. UCRB better be prepared to be sued for the fullest extent that we are able. I have had enough. By the way, to date, I have received no email and no postal mail from UCRB validating the debt. I have indeed sent a CEASE and DESIST Letter and a Validation Letter.

XXXX is a transcript of the voicemail that was left for me on my cell phone. " My name is XXXX, I 'm investigating a very serious complaint for { my name }. Our client has flagged his name along with as his address and social and I 'm calling from United Check Recovery Bureau, I need to get a statement of intent and notify him of his legal rights. If he wants to voluntarily make restitution on this complaint I need him to contact our pre-legal department at XXXX XXXX XXXX. If I do n't hear from him in a timely manner we will use a government skip tracing tool to locate him we will enter this into the system and have him pursued to the full extent of the law. You have been legally notified. ( Caller hung up XXXX '' The collector also called me at my office. He then disclosed he was calling about " XXXX XXXX. '' He stated the balance that he said that I owe telling me it was charged off in XX/XX/2015. He demanded I make a voluntary resolution to this matter and that it is now in their prelegal department. He was calling me in my office and I had coworkers about. I hung up because he was intimidating me and I could not freely speak at work. He called the office again and my co-worker picked up. I was not available so she tried to take a message and he got angry with her asking why she needed to know and why I could not pick up my phone. She told me about this and she felt harassed. I felt threatened and intimidated. Because I have a lawyer handling another matter for me, I forwarded this voicemail to his office. The firm called this company and they refused to speak to the attorney or accept any information showing that they represent me. They also refused to give the law office an address for a fax number.

I have received several harassing phone calls since XXXX XXXX, 2018 to the present day of this writing ( XXXX XXXX, 2018 ) from various representatives giving a variety of names ( XXXX XXXX ... .XXXX XXXX are two of the names they are using ) from a company calling itself XXXX ( United Check Recovery Bureau ... the address from the Better Business Bureau is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , NY XXXX. One of the many telephone numbers they utilize is XXXX. The only way I know the name of the company is that I have done extensive online investigation on the telephone numbers they are calling from ... rarely do they identify themselves. They have called me at home, on my cell, at work, and now are calling several of my relatives. I do not know any information on the debt they claim to be collecting. I have sent them a validation letter, and a cease and desist letter, and also given them the name of my attorney and demanded they work through her, but they keep calling. My nephew who lives in a different state called to me today to tell me that this company called him asking my whereabouts. They know my whereabouts because I have contacted them and they have my address. This is just an intimidation tactic they are using. They have failed to validate the debt and keep telling me that they " emailed the information '' to me ... which they did not, and besides, a valid validation should be in writing. The representatives are rude, harassing, and this XXXX XXXX sounds as if she has been smoking since birth. Please help this is causing incredible problems with my employer. If you google XXXX or Unite Check Recovery Bureau ... .there is a multitude of complaints on various websites about their harassing tactics.

I was first contacted by XXXX XXXX with UCRB ( telephone number ( XXXX ) XXXX ) on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX claiming that he was with UCRB, he was looking for a verbal statement from me for his final recommendation on a matter so he could submit paperwork. He reached out to a family member as well prior to contacting me. He said he intended to inform me of my legal rights before the case was filed with the district court and to see if I had any questions regarding the contents of the case or would like to submit a statement in my defense. When I called, however, it was an attempt to collect money and I was told if I paid in full or set up recurring payments then we could settle the matter. If I did not do this my wages would be garnished. I contacted the original debtor and was advised that my account was in fact transferred to a collection agency ; however the agency name was XXXX XXXX XXXX management and not UCRB ( where XXXX was calling from ). I tried to contact XXXX at phone number XXXX, ( provided by the original debtor ) and was unable to get thru, a message from version played that my call was not able to be connected. I googled XXXX for another phone number and was able to locate phone # XXXX, however to no avail there was a voicemail message asking for you to leave a message however their inbox is full and your call is disconnected. Please keep in mind I have never recd paperwork from this company ( UCRB ) in the past and now they are threatening garnishing my wages.

I was first contacted by XXXX XXXX with UCRB ( telephone number ( XXXX ) XXXX ) on XX/XX/XXXX claiming that he was with a firm and that I had been listed as a defendant in a complaint by a client of their office. I asked for validation of the debt in writing and XXXX XXXX said he would get a letter sent out. I continued to receive calls from XXXX XXXX XXXX and each time I informed him that I had not received a validation and that I would rather not discuss the alleged debt until I had confirmed the legitimacy of this claim. As of today, XX/XX/XXXX, I have yet to receive the validation of debt I had repeatedly requested. I spoke with XXXX XXXX XXXX again today in response to a voicemail he left me prior. I was informed that today was the end of my 30 days, though I was not aware that we had a timeframe, and that my wages would be garnished or I would have 30-90 days to pay depending on the judgement. I searched public records and have contacted the county I had previously resided in and the county I reside in now and both counties confirm that no paperwork has been filed for a case.

XX/XX/2019 First contact from this company was when they reached out to a family member of mine. They disclosed all my information, the amount of the debt, the company it was from, who's names were on the account, everything. They never once tried to reach out to me before this. My family member gave me the number that I called back and was told it was United Check Recovery Bureau , Inc, and that I was speaking to XXXX XXXX. I explained that my family member told me you disclosed all of my information to them and he said " Sorry, she asked. It sounded like she wanted to help. '' Unprofessional, illegal, and unacceptable! What an absolute violation of my privacy. Then they send me an email form about the debt that states in the email they sent me " We would like to protect your privacy ... '' and it says in the email " ... The Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act require that ... collectors may not tell another person, other than your attorney or spouse, about your debt. '' Not only did they violate that, they violated and compromised my privacy and information to a family member who should not have been given this information.

I spoke to XXXX XXXX from UC RB on XX/XX/XXXX after he left me a voice message on my cell phone. He told me there was a complaint filed against me to commence legal proceedings. He then requested I make payment arrangements to stop the processing, which I did. On Friday morning of XX/XX/XXXX, I received a phone call from XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX I was not able to answer and thought it was odd to call before XXXX XXXX. I then received another call at XXXX XXXX, but I was at work and not able to answer. XXXX XXXX left another voice message on my phone. I had my representative call to speak to him and got XXXX XXXX instead. He was told that he was in violation for calling before XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX wouldn't allow my Rep to speak, he would interrupt her and even started to use profanity. He was very rude and decided he didn't want to continue to speak to her so he discontinued the call while she was on the line.

I received a call today from a " XXXX XXXX '' at UCRB - no website exists nor address. They said something about an unpaid debt/ bad check? I looked on my credit report that shows nothing associated with them. I XXXX the phone number and have been reading up on all the threats and nobody can seem to find out anything about their debt or who the company is. If it is a legitimate company - they are contacting family members on their first attempt of contact. I have not received any notifications via mail and my bank account has a zero balance and has been closed since 2013. Please look into these people. They are preying on a lot of people and making phone calls to people 's work, family members, friends, etc. Also, XXXX stated that they are " sending a courier unless I call back and make payments to them. '' Sounds extremely sketchy and these people need to be investigated.

This started on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I received a phone call from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, they left a message stating they were from XXXX and trying to settle a file that their client has placed and wanted me to call them back on number XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I called that number back but was not transferred to anyone and it automatically hung up. Next day I got a call from ( XXXX ) XXXX, women stated her name was XXXX XXXX and was calling from the financial office of UCRB looking to get a statement of what happened between me and another party before they had to write a legal reccomendation. She only left her direct phone number which I called and left a message. She did not call back. I have never heard about this agency, and I 've never received anything in the mail from them in the past. I do n't want to give them my information unless I know they are collecting a valid debt.

I was contacted by XXXX with United Check Recovery Bureau. I asked him to remove my number and to not contact me further and he refused and continued to talk with me about the debt of a former spouse. I asked him again and he continued to harass me and not acknowledge my request to remove my number. I finally told him I was going to file a complaint he became rude and laughed at me and said " File a complain with who? '' I told him the FTC and at that point he decided to listen to my request to remove my number. He was trying to be intimidating after I had already told him 2 days earlier that I am divorced and not responsible for the debt. The phone number that dialed me from was XXXX

Since spring 2023, I have received about two calls per day from United Check Recovery Bureau from various numbers. They will leave voicemails, but when I answer they either wont give information or will have dead air on the other line. They have started contacting my family members as well, which is illegal to my knowledge. The number they are using is not a recognized company number. My mom and I have both blocked the number, so now UCRB is threatening me via email to have the debt pulled back and legal action taken.
