I found Tuten Title and Escrow to be unprofessional and disorganized in handling the close of sale of our house. These are a few of the issues : * did not return phone calls *delivered check to our door step, where it could have been easily stolen *check did not match closing documents *taxes not paid on time *tax forms never sent to us I made several phone calls in the days prior to the sale to find out how to close from out of town, and they were never returned. It was unclear on where to sign everything on the closing documents, and we had to make some hand written changes for witness signitures. On the day of the sale of the house, I called to get information on when we would receive the check, she said she would email or call me with that information ; she never did that. When it got to the end of the next day, with no response, I called again and left a message, again with no return call.
After three days, I called and talked to someone other than my closing attorney and she gave me all the info on the phone. Unbelievably to say, it was delivered to my door earlier that day and sitting on my door step. A check for over {$90000.00} was sitting at my door. I was never told when or where it was going to delivered. I had to leave work and pick it up off my door step.
Later when I opened it and was comparing the check to the documents she sent me, they didn't match. I called to find out what was going on and the attorney said " well, it matches the papers you signed ''. I told her I don't know what I signed because I had sent the closing documents to her, and what she sent me are legal documents and the check needs to match the those documents. She said there was a mistake, and I still do not understand her explanation. She stated she would send me the new documents by email. Then I asked her if she knew how the check was delivered, and she said I made arrangements on how it was delivered. I said no, I was never given that information, how am I supposed to arrange the delivery of documents your send me, and I do not know how to arrange the delivery of packages to my house.
The property taxes were not paid on time, or even in a timely manner. So a house that was sold in XXXX, didn't get payed until way after the new year, they didn't clear until XXXX.
They have still not sent the property tax forms for our taxes, form XXXX.
