XXXX of XXXX I was contacted by Alleviate Financial solutions with an offer to help negotiate and consolidate my credit card debts. I was told the company would send out proposal letters to my credit card companies to settle the debts for less and get them paid off, while debiting my bank account a monthly amount that will be paid towards my cards until all debts were paid off in a 12 months period. I was also told my credit score would dip but then go back up with reflection of good faith on all account that were put into the program, I agreed, of course it was about 2 hours long conversation trying to understand how this works.
What i was NEVER told about during the conversation, was fees i will be charged monthly just to have XXXX debit my account and fees from Alleviate just for talking to me on the phone. I was NEVER told that my credit cards account to be behind on payments. The gentleman on the phone stated everything we spoke about is what will be in the contact and so I signed.
It was agreed that i would pay XXXX every month. Starting around XX/XX/XXXX the deductions started. About 3 months when by and I was still paying my cards on my own. I finally decided to contact the creditors, only to find out Alleviate never submitted a proposal. I wait again only because I thought maybe this is how it works, it takes time and an accumulation of the money before it goes out. Then I called them about XX/XX/XXXX to see what was happening. Then it was explained to me by an individual ( XXXX ) that my accounts aren't supposed to be current, and he is sorry that wasn't explained to me. It was then agreed I would get a refund and close out my account with Alleviate and XXXX and by the following week which would be XX/XX/XXXX I would get a confirmation letter of closure and a check would be mailed out to me.
Check came in the mail by XX/XX/XXXX for $ XXXX what am i missing. Lets do the math.
5 months of paying {$270.00} = {$1300.00}, a difference of {$420.00}. I called, and was told about monthly fees of {$9.00}, then a startup fee of another $ XXXX, then legal fees of {$250.00}, plus another {$39.00} for something else. Wait legal fees, are they an attorney base program? I asked to speak with a manager.
I waited for a manager to get on the phone with me for an hour and was told all mangers were busy and they will call me back.
Today is XX/XX/XXXX. I was given a XXXX number as the number calling me back. The gentleman I spoke with today was XXXX and I called XXXX.
What scams to get peoples hard errand money? All I was looking for was honest help.

I applied for debt consolidation loan but they denied it instead they put me in structured loan payment. They discussed to me whats only is good like my monthly payment will be lowered and i will only have 1 monthly payment since the existing loans will be paid off. And they also advised me to stop all my automatic payments right away.
In their email they said someone will call me to discuss the welcome packet bug nobody called me to discuss it. There was only a lady who called me to set an appointment.
But then they already charged my bank account of {$270.00} without discussing anything.
One of my lenders called me and following up about my monthly payment since I already canceled my automatic payment. And they said that nobody from Alleviate contacted them. And if I cancel my automatic payment and will not pay, they will charge me late fees. And Instead, they were the one who called Alleviate.
When I called Alleviate what happened, they told me that I need to have 55 % fund first before they can offer my 2 existing lenders a pay off. Meaning Alleviate will charge me first monthly before they can negotiate to my 2 existing lenders.
Now, I want to cancel the Alleviate because of misinformation about the 55 %, XXXX XXXX said that they can not give back the full refund of {$270.00} because they paid for legal fee of {$250.00}. He said they only have {$5.00} in my account and thats the only amount they can refund. I told him that information wasnt discussed to me either. He said I signed it in their contract which by the way never discussed to me in full details again. And they only discussed to me the information that are good to hear.
Of course I will sign the contract because they only discussed to me the good side of the contract and told that is what written in the contract.

In XX/XX/XXXX, I signed up for a debt consolidation program with alleviate financial for XXXX of debt at XXXX over XXXX months. I wasnt impressed pretty quickly when they settled a couple of my debts for more than the amount of the collection letters sent to my house. They said it would all even out at the end. It didnt!! XXXX would not negotiate what is my biggest collection at around XXXX. They took me to court which they said could happen but I would be represented by a qualified attorney. That turned out to be quite the joke. They gave me an attorney from out of state who was one of the most arrogant people I have ever spoken to. I gave him all of my financial information. Side note, my wife of over XXXX years passed suddenly in XX/XX/XXXX, I was out of work on XXXX due to grieving and this man was I think, the most ignorant person Ive ever spoken to. First court date doesnt show so I tried to find out as much about him as possible. I learned he did not have very positive reviews or even a decent amount of positive negotiations. So at that point I took that off the program. They also failed to negotiate with XXXX other creditors. So they negotiated XXXX out of XXXX and the total of those XXXX alone is more than XXXX. They are still taking the monthly for reasons I dont understand. The ones they settled should be long paid if it was only XXXX in debt negotiations. The transparency of the documents I have access to show ridiculous fees for useless services but not much else. I could have negotiated less and have been out of debt with a decent credit score by now I will give all access to my account if someone will put this scam service down. I have six kids and this monthly payment is not and has not had even the slightest positive impact on my credit score.

I enter into a XXXX XXXX XXXX with Alleviate Financial Solutions on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX credit accounts. Made payments of {$480.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and {$520.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, total of {$1900.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX contacted XXXX & XXXX for a settlement of one my creditors, XXXX XXXX ; which was agree by me for about {$3900.00}. from the original amount of a {$8000.00} ; which was the highest of all my debts, for payments of {$160.00}. for 24 months and a payment was made of {$160.00} in XX/XX/XXXX. To my surprise I checked my Portal to see my balance and it was on XXXX. So I almost had nervous breakdown to know that {$1800.00} had all gone on fees. I have contacted other Debt Resolution Companies and they tell me that the fees are actually divided into monthly smaller payment and those are included in the monthly amounts that I send every month. Allviate Financial Solutions are service by a financial institution by the name of XXXX, XXXX. To make a longer story short, the matter of the situation is that charge me all that money in one instant ; and I am very disturb that I was so angry and called and cancel my debt resolution program. By the way, I think they picked the highest one creditor so they count deduct the highest fee. Made several calls and always was someone different ( case mananger ). Tel # XXXX ext XXXX. My account should be XXXX. I am a XXXX yrs old XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX with XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX, and woul like to see justice done. Thank very much for your time and consideration.

XXXX intentionally misled and lied to me telling me there would be no hard credit pulls to credit report and that only their company would pull a soft pull, I was assured by their representative XXXX whose phone number is XXXX, that there would not be multiple lenders pulling my credit and that it would not affect my credit score, I was placed on hold by the representative so she could speak to " underwriting '' for the loan, then I was told to follow a link they sent me and to confirm my information so that they could pull a soft inquiry again to see my rates and offers, after confirming my information I was offered loans by multiple company 's that were far below what I was told I was pre approved for with interest rates far higher than what I was told I was approved for. this affected my credit score negatively and I have been working very hard to improve it and this only hurt me due to the misleading of the company. this all occurred XX/XX/21
