A few of years ago in XXXX or XXXX I took a {$300.00} payday loan online. I then fell on hard times and couldn't pay it back. My payday loan was then turned over to collections and picked up by Thrash and Thrash PLLC. I have been paying them {$85.00} a month for the past year totaling over {$1000.00}. Even during the pandemic when I lost my job, I still tried my best to make a payment and I called and spoke with personally if I couldn't. Then on XX/XX/XXXX I get a letter from them offering me a " settlement. '' Again, the initial debt was from a third party and was {$300.00} in entirety. Thrash and thrash sent me a letter offering to settle my account for {$2600.00}. They claim the full amount is {$3300.00}. If I don't pay this amount they will continue to compound the interest again and again preventing my from ever been able to pay it off. Also, if I stop paying, they will threaten to garnish my wages and add derogatory remarks on my credit even though I've already paid them over {$1000.00} when my initial debt was on $ XXXX.I need help. My car didn't even cost {$2600.00}. I can't afford to continue paying them all of this money when the debt should have been settled at this point. This business is literally robbing American people. It is also a gross misuse of power and disgusting to ask someone to pay so much for a {$300.00} debt during a pandemic or at all. Everyone is struggling but they literally do not care and must be stopped.
