About three weeks ago ( or so ) I got a call from a number I didn't recognize. The man mispronounced my last name, which is common. I said, " this is XXXX '' to make it easier. My voice is actually kind of high, and he thought I was a child. He asked if I was " of age '' and I said I was. He then said it was about the XX/XX/2016 accident. I immediately said I haven't been in any accidents. He said I was " in the screen. '' I replied that I do n't drive, don't have a license and was not involved in any accidents. He told me there was an outstanding {$1000.00} ( approx, don't remember exact amount he stated ), and was trying to find a man, whom he named. I didn't know the name. He then asked to verify my address and I said no and hung up. Today, I got a letter from XXXX XXXX of Thomas George Associates , LTD in NY. The letter stated that the company had repeatedly tried to contact me and I had ignored them. This is the first time I have ever heard of this company. The letter goes on to state that I owe {$1400.00} based on a XXXX XXXX claim, but the ( claim number belongs to XXXX XXXX ). I have 30 days to dispute it then they send details and a judgment. The letter does not state what it is I am supposedly indebted for, or provide any details whatsoever. The letter has my last name very misspelled and my address contains part of my old address, so is slightly incorrect. I don't know if the letter and phone call are connected, but it feels like a pattern, or the start of one. I don't owe anybody any money and I was not involved in any accidents. No insurance company has tried to reach me about anything I would owe, and I can't imagine any reason I would owe anything. I called XXXX XXXX a few minutes ago and left a voicemail telling him I owe nothing and know nothing about this and that any further contact would be considered harassment. I am actually afraid this is going to be a huge problem and I am baffled how this came to me. I don't know what to do. I am afraid to contact that company again. Thank you for your kind assistance.

Monday, XX/XX/2019. I received a call from a 'subrogation representative ' at XXXX XXXX PST , saying that I owe money ( XXXX $ ) for an accident that someone else was involved in, driving a car I no longer own. The company is called Thomas George Associates. He claimed that I can have my driver 's license taken by the state for failure to comply ( pay ) even though I was not an involved party. I asked if he was a bill collector and he denied this saying that he is a subrogation officer. To which, I repeated my question. I then requested the claim in writing, so that I can understand. The tactic of denying that he was a bill collector and pretending to work directly for the insurance company allowed him to call me before XXXX XXXX. The threat that I could lose my license because of their actions seems out of bounds as well. As of today, I did receive the notice of right to dispute, so, I think things are back on track. However, I felt like this was a violation of my rights of communications to collect a debt and wanted to voice that. The officer claimed that on XX/XX/XXXX an accident occurred in a vehicle owned by me. I have documents attached showing that I sold the vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX.

XX/XX/XXXX I was contacted by Thomas George Associates LTD., in regards to a claim stemming from XXXX XXXX XXXX for {$2500.00}. for a loss claim of a accident that occurred on XX/XX/XXXX via letter dated XX/XX/XXXX. I called TGA on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with an agent, to gather validating information for this claim. I was told that the vehicle involved was a XXXX XXXX XXXX that I was driving. I explained to the agent that I have never owned or driven said vehicle and I was not the individual they were looking for. I believe this possible case of identity theft as I have a common name and this is not a valid claim against me as I have been sheltering in place during this pandemic. I was contacted in XXXX and I did not respond as this is not a valid claim against me. I received a second communication on XX/XX/XXXX, from XXXX XXXX, Attorney, for further collection of amount due. I called directly on the date received and after being on hold for a period of time I disconnected the call and lodged this complaint regarding this collection action on non-valid debt and claim.

In response to complaint # XXXX with closed status as of XX/XX/2021. Once again attempts to collect from same named individual XXXX XXXX, upon unsuccessful communication with an agent at Thomas George Associates, I subsequently reached out to XXXX XXXX to glean some insight into this claim. The XXXX XXXX the " insured '' whose listed in this documentation has the middle name of " XXXX '' which is not my middle name. After a conversation with XXXX XXXX who can be reached at XXXX asked for the supporting correspondence along with my identification to investigate how I was selected as the XXXX XXXX as my personal identifiable information is different with this very generic name. I have attached a copy of communication from XXXX XXXX. Subsequently I will be reaching out to the Attorney General of Pennsylvania as I have concerns regarding this collection company and the lack of due diligence in its collection practices in determining the correct parties involved and circulation of other 's PII without any regard to consumer privacy acts and laws.

I have received debt collection letter to validate on XXXX fromThomas George Associates LTD. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX requersting {$4300.00} and have 30 days to dispute. I responded on XX/XX/XXXX Certified mail requesting all document and signed contract and invoices include thier signed contract with original creditor. They failed to provide any documents and keep responding with same 30 days notice. Repeatedly almost every 15 days keep sending 30 days notice with same threaten information ignoring all my legal requests to send me any invoices or docmunet to verify debt. I have replaied back 8 Times requesting debit validation, and asked them to stop contact me. But they ignoring my right and all the legal process. I have asked them if they are licencesd in state of XXXX to collect debt and they ignoring any request.

The accident happen on XX/XX/XXXX. Advised ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX dba XXXX XXXX ) that, I have full covered and provided insurance information to adjuster at ( XXXX ) and then I received a letter on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX and provided information again. On XXXX XXXX received a letter from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. However, XXXX didn't contact XXXX for payment for the accident prior to contacting me. Under California everyone that owns a car have to obtain liability insurance coverage to drive on the roads and streets. Both companies have fail to get in contact with XXXX. Also, this debt is dispute and served as notice for dispute. Lastly, please stop harassing and threatening me. Cease and Desist notice unless it's regards to XXXX make payment. Once, payment is made you can send me a notice it was Paid in Full. XXXX XXXX

On XX/XX/XXXX me and my daughter paid {$4800.00} to Thomas George Associates for a wreck my daughter has back in XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX with TGA assured me and my daughter that we would have the original paper work within 2ish weeks. I have called this company many times over the last 5 weeks. Each time I have been given many different answers about this. All of the conversations were recorded also. We still do not have our original paper to take to the state of ohio to remove our security suspension that was placed on not only mine but my daughters license. Here it is over 5 weeks since we paid and still nothing.

I was in an accident in XXXX I had just bought my vehicle so I made the mistake of postponing using car insurance. Later on I got into an accident when I was going to XXXX on military leave, the person did not yield to the green light and turned in front of me. The process was choppy due to my lack of insurance, I filed a claim through them and they have not gotten back to me ; however, the debt collection agency Thomas George Associates is claiming I owe {$15000.00} when XXXX never approached me and when the repairs of the car were worth half of that money.

I received multiple letters of contact within a weekly bases concerning a debt. I am currently going through a financial hardship and is getting harassed by Thomas George Associates to acquire a debt that I am currently in no position to make payments on. The frequency of contact by phone and mail is overbearing and well within the limitation of harassment, the quality of expression of words making financial threats towards me, Including the methods of contact outside of the legal business hours of contact.
