The issue was originally for my spouse but the company failed to see that we are 2 different individuals and merged it all into one big mess, so now it is my problem as well. Law Offices of Quinn M. Kofford, P.C., also violated multiple laws when it comes to Fair Debt collection act. " Collectors can call third parties such as family, neighbors, friends or co-workers only to locate the debtor. When they do, they cant reveal the debt, and there are limits on repeated calls. '' I was threatened and humiliated while at work! I notified lady calling me that I was at work but she said she didn't care. I also notified her that my accounts are always up to date and she is mistaken, to which she said that unless I have a paper copy, they can collect even if it was paid. I told her that I am concerned about my XXXX information breach to which she said : nobody cares about your XXXX XXXX. I notified her that account did not belong to me and she refused to accept it. She proceeded with XXXX and yelling. I notified her that if she continues to harass and threaten me, I will have to get an attorney to protect myself. She continued to yell at me and threatening me even though I told her repeatedly she needs to contact correct person on this matter. She then disclosed personal medical information to me that she did not have the right to possess as only necessary medical information can be disclosed for debt collection not whole medical history and it can only be shared with person it belongs to not with another person ( my spouse 's information was shared with me without his permission ). Yesterday we got served as company turned it over to court without notifying myself or my spouse that they are going to take that action. There was no time frame given or outline of the action. I got served at work and lawsuit has both names on it. Original company failed to produce the billing, only handwritten note was sent to our address with no explanation for the charges just dollar amounts. I was not notified that debt could be disputed. I repeatedly asked why she was talking to me and not my husband but never received an answer. If conversation was recorded, I was not made aware of it nor gave my permission. I have to deal with trying to restore my XXXX, fix our insurance ( since breach occurred ), work with XXXX offices on HIPPA violation ( which means we would have to take time from work to resolve all the issues that were created for my husband and I ). If request can not be provided this will be an illegal action of 15 usc 1692C ( a ) This so could law office has harassed me to coerce payment on a debt they have advertised to me which has ruin my reputation. This is a violation of 15 usc 1692g ( 5 ). Debt collector is still commutating with me after i have cease communication with them. this is a violation under 15 usc 1692c ( c ) I have received statement via mail from Debt collector disclosing symbols, which in fact disclose they are in the debt collection business, which is a violation under 15 usc 1692f ( 8 ) debt collector has furnished unlawful information portraying to a collection on my consumer reporting file without my consent. Im am very stunned with this law office breaking the law to coerce payment for their benefit to Undermine the consumer. I will be taking legal proceeding if action is not done to my favor.

On I received paperwork from this law firm stating I had so many days to respond in order to set a hearing. These poets said I had to wait so many days to call. I followed the instructions and called after the waiting period, but before the deadline. When I called in I stated I was calling to figure out how to respond to some papers I received, because there was nothing attached for me to fill out and mail in. The person on the other line was a debt collector. She told me that me calling right now was responding, but instead of giving me option for dispute and to have a hearing, told me that a judgement was to be filed the following day, and that I was at risk for garnishment and legal actions. She told me we could set up payments to avoid that. And gave me my options. At no point was I given the opportunity to dispute or to have a hearing. Just threatened with legal action and garnishments. I proceeded to agree to the payments to avoid the judgment they were going to file against me. They then proceeded forward without notification that I did call in and respond within the allotted timeframe, so a judgement was granted. I called back to discuss this, I verified my information, and then handed the phone to my daughter to discuss for better understanding of what happened. The debt collector then yelled at us that it is illegal to pretend to be the debtee, and that she would need to speak with the debtee to move forward. When I literally just verified my information and handed over the phone. I confirmed who I was a second time and gave my daughter permission to speak. At that point the debt collector stated I was served, and that I called in within the allotted timeframe, but that we just set up payments in that call instead of being given option for dispute or hearing. I was fully misled and conned into agreeing to payments I can not afford because I wasnt given an option otherwise. My right to dispute was voided when this woman told me I had no choice but to establish payments to avoid legal consequences and garnishment. After which point they entered a judgement anyway and said I didnt attempt to respond. WHEN I DID! I requested to hear a recording of our first call and was told management could review it only and they would reach back out. I need to receive my right to dispute in court or this needs thrown out.

They brought me court papers but no case number, court date or name of judge. And once I got all my research done I found out that their client 's were negligent in handling a co-pay and insurance at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I gave them the facts of my side of the issue. And the lady followed by the thing in which they are a male but not XXXX XXXX XXXX material per-sey. YELLED at me and BELITTED me and told me that I have ZERO rights to a lawyer or to any kind of a fair court hearing. And they REFUSED to take any of my evidence and such into consideration. So, I'm getting endlessly harassed with their phone calles with their rude, unprofessional, unpleasant and condescending employees who are just horrible.
Just a little update, they dragged me through the courts. And refused to let me even know that I had to pleade to the judge. And they made it so that I had a failure to pleade in court. And now I have to somehow come up with XXXX XXXX and pay ot all or nothing and if I don't, I will suffer the consequences. They have continually harassed me each and every morning causing me to be around XXXX hours late for a few months, even causing me to miss entire days of work. And it has resulted in a considerable amount of lost wages. I am a low income earner, and they more or less don't care and they screamed at me for lying about being a low income earner and states that I am making XXXX an hour when I'm making around XXXX an hour. And this is on minimal part time hours.
They XXXX XXXX Collections company who they are obviously in bed with refused my XXXX dollar a month payments and they kicked it back in my face refusingthe payment and money that I was giving them. And the lady just shouted at me highly unprofessinally and she cussed me out big time. I have filed earlier today with the XXXX. So, they more or less aren't willing to work with you and be accommodating with you. They just want to make themselves a horrible financial burden. And make you suffer.
One more thing, when I was working on disputing the initial debt, I was served more papers showing that a promissory agreement contract was signed in my name. I never signed it, looking at the signature collected, it isn't mine, it's a forgery.

I am the employer of the Employee who the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is attempting to garnish wages. On XX/XX/XXXX they Served my employee paper work for the amount that he owes. In the paper there were documents for me as the employer to fill out and send back. I reached out to my payroll company for guidance and they told me to fill out the paper work and I would be receiving a correspondence confirm the amount to withhold, etc. About 3 months past and I didn't hear anything back. XXXX XXXX an employee at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX called me at my work. She was threatening to take legal action against me as the employer if they didn't receive a payment, she threatened to sue me and put a lien on my property. I told her I sent in the paper work and was waiting for correspondence back from them. That's what my payroll company directed me to do. She said that's not right and I need to submit a payment immediately or they would take action against me. She said that they ( the lawfirm ) didn't need to give me an amount and that I was required to send 25 % of his next paycheck in. This last payroll I processed 25 % of my employees paycheck to send into them. But then i started reading some information because to me that didn't seem right to be taking that much of a paycheck for a small medical bill. As I read I see that there is the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in place that limits how they can speak and use the threatening language. XXXX XXXX, was speaking to me about as abusive as anyone can speak to another human being. Then began to threaten me and my business, even though I took the necessary steps to contact them by sending in the documents they asked for.

In the initial communication I requested the 5 method of verification under 15 usc 1692g ( a ) on XXXX i received statements from this debt collector after i have requested for them to fulfill these allegations. This company has failed to verify this information or provide me exhibits Accordingly. In their initial communication this unfair debt collector sent me symbols other than the debt collectors address which is a violation of 15 usc 1692f9 ( 8 ) I kindly ask this 3rd party to provide me how this review of this matter was confirmed accordingly. XXXX your internal policies where talking about federal violation laws your client has violated me.I did not ever give consent to this debt collector to communicate with me in the first places which is a violation under 15 usc 1692C ( a ) this office should know this law under the FDCPA since yall are regulated by them. To whom it may concern, I have been harassed by a debt collector for over a year now. Everytime I asked to verify if the debt was truly owed and asked for a statement or explanation of benefit for the original debt, I was told that I would receive something. This never happened, and I continued to receive harassing phone calls and mail from the debt collector.
One month ago, I was harassed by the debt collectors themselves. They sent a courier to my house to deliver me a bogus court Summons in order to extort money from me. The original debt was for {$110.00} and they told me that I owed $ 500+. According to my rights, I continued to ask for evidence from the original provider, again they would not provide this to me. Finally, I was able to track down the medical office that provided the treatment and they were able to provide me with a bill. I attempted to cover the original amount to no avail.
I went back to the debt collector and attempted to settle up. They were unwilling to work with me and extorted $ 500+ and told me that the interest and penalties were going to increase by {$100.00} every week until I paid up. Of course I did not want my family or I to continue being harassed so I caved in and paid them.
I feel like this place is a scam and is only after peoples hard earned money. They do not follow the rules and should be investigated. Please help me get all or some of my money back and penalize this business for harassment and charging fees and interest that are not lawful.

On XX/XX/XXXX I received a phone call from The Law Office of Quinn M Kofford about medical debt that I allegedly owed. During that phone call, I was not once informed or told that I had a right to request validation of the debt and was threatened to be sued and garnished of up to 25 % of my wages.
On XX/XX/XXXX I mailed a request of debt validation to them and was responded to with a court summons served to me only 10 days later.
I wasnt provided with any form validation that I owed this debt.
I was then mailed papers that they claim is validation of debt. These papers contained medical bills but no actual proof or reasoning that these bills were mine. There was one paper that did have a signature on it, but that signature was not mine.
During this time the collector continued to call me even though I had initiated a dispute with them and the credit reporting agency, in turn violating one of my consumer rights.
I then had to file a motion to set aside judgement to the court and was granted the motion.
The law office has still not provided me with any proof that this is my debt, or that the claims were submitted to my insurance if they are mine.
They have violated many of my rights as a consumer and are actively trying to sue and collect on a debt THAT IS NOT MINE!
This company is predatory and they need to be stopped.

On the afternoon of XX/XX/2019, a representative of Kofford Law came to my house and spoke with my mother-in-law who was babysitting my children about a supposed Complaint that was being filed against myself and my wife. My wife and I were both at work at the time. The representative, who identified himself as " XXXX XXXX '', after attempting to leave paperwork with my mother-in-law left a large packet of private debt and medical information on my front porch. The packet was not sealed in an envelope or any other container to seal the information and keep it confidential. The packet contained amounts due, interest rates, our account numbers with our doctor 's office, photocopies of medical contracts, allegations of breach of contracts, as well as information about a supposed lawsuit that was to follow if we did not respond to them. The paperwork was made to appear as though it were coming from the XXXX District Court of Utah, yet was also addressed as coming from the law firm in question.
On, or around, the XXXX of XXXX a representative of Kofford Law called my wife and aggressively threatened to sue her if she did not give her our credit card information so they could bill us for the supposed debt.
The practices of this firm are in gross violation of the FDCPA.

I was served at my workplace by the XXXX who holds my debt. When I called the XXXX they didn't answer. When they called back they didn't identify themselves as the debt collector. The lady who called me said that they were a lawfirm and in the process of trying to sue me. She asked if they could look at my file so she could help me further. She did not tell me they were pulling anything from my medical records to use against me. But that's what she did. They did not tell me that they were asking to pull my file due to HIPPA Laws. They reached out to my employer and threatened to put a lien on his Property if he didn't submit information about payroll. He sent the information and they called him and yelled at him and threatened him again because they thought he didn't send the information even though he did. They told him and I that they would be Garnishing {$25.00} out of each paycheck but this paycheck they took out {$800.00}. They have been aggressive, deceptive and threatening. I told them multiple times I would like to work out a payment plan. They have tacked on almost {$400.00} in fees on top of the debt. I feel like they have operated outside the boundaries of ethical treatment and have crossed the line with my place of employment,

A law office attempting to collect a garnishment withholding from a terminated employee called our company 's general support number ( people who have no affiliation with HR or Finance at all ) and asked to be put through to Payroll. Our agent suggested that they reach out to us at our email and they refused, stating " I guess we will just pull the company into court. '' The woman who was attempting to collect the debt even recited the finance number in the attached recording, stating that " We had not returned her calls '' which is a blatant falsehood. Finance reached out almost immediately after the first call and left a message asking for a call back and did not receive one until almost two weeks later on a day when the finance department was unmanned.
After calling the day after, the agent again threatened legal action without prior notice over the phone. I'm sure the law office will have records of these calls.

At least 3 times a week, a collector will come to our house and pound on the door in the middle of the day. The only people home at the time are my kids ( all minors ) age XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. The first time my XXXX year old opened the door the man harassed him with personal questions about me, along with information about himself. Keep in mind he is XXXX and had no idea what was going on!!! My kids are not allowed to open the door when we are not home but the man continues to come back and look in the windows when my kids are home alone. He will park his car on the side of our property ( in which he is not allowed ) so he is able to " sneak '' up to our front door. I'm tired of this guy scaring my kids. They are minors and should not have to be harassed like this!!! How can I get him to stop?
