I live in XXXX XXXX, and we own solar panels that were installed on our home a few years ago by a company called XXXX XXXX, this company is wonderful. My familys complaint is with Sunnova, the company that financed the solar panels for us. We had no issues during the first couple of years of our business relationship, but in XXXX of XXXX when I logged into the state exchange to sell our solar credits for cash, I found out that something was broken in our system. We had generated XXXX XXXX from the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX through the end of XX/XX/XXXX. The going rate of XXXXXXXX XXXX of energy in XXXX for me was {$220.00} per credit, meaning that my wife and I, as well as my XXXX XXXX children are owed {$2400.00}. I called XXXX XXXX and they sent someone out to see what was wrong with my system, and figured out that an inverter was broken and needed to be replaced. When that was replaced, my old credits disappeared with the inverter. Additionally, the inverter breaking meant that even though we were generating solar energy every day, my XXXX XXXX panel showed XXXX XXXX generated for the months of XX/XX/XXXX through the end of XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX officially replaced the inverter on XX/XX/XXXX, and on XX/XX/XXXX, I reached out to Sunnovas customer service via email, formally trying to file a loss of production claim. The terms of my signed contract with Sunnova are quite clear that they are the provider and that they would provide a loss of production guarantee and that this would be within the 30 days. I have received specific promises over the phone and via email from customer service and resolution specialists who start off making me feel like this is going to be resolved soon, to then reverse course with weeks of ignoring my phone calls and emails. They approved {$920.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, for the XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX production case. I have asked repeatedly where this money is, and I keep getting ignored or told things are still pending. Earlier this week, I got conflicting emails from two different agents at Sunnova : one told me my case was closed and another it was still pending! It seems that Sunnovas strategy is to wait until I surrender, which I have assured them I have no intention of doing, which is I why I reached out to the CFPB. I had hoped it wouldnt come to this since my wife and I pay them on time every month and have contract with them for just under {$35000.00}.

I was awarded a {$1000.00} XXXX gift card for buying a backup battery that was an additional {$12000.00}. I did receive the XXXX gift card in XXXX of XXXX and used approximately {$180.00}. I noticed today that the card expired in XXXX of XXXX. No big deal, I will just call and get a new card. WRONG! I was informed by Sunnova that once the card expires, they are " unable to issue a new card and set the balance to XXXX '' this was per a representative in the rewards department that I spoke with today. This disclosure is not written on the card anywhere and I was not informed of this until I called today ( XX/XX/XXXX ). {$810.00} they are refusing to honor and I dont understand because I held up my end of the contract that awarded me the card. I bought a system ( that has been giving me issues since installing and I am having issues obtaining service that was promised, but that is a different issue all together ). That gift card was my benefit in exchange for the additional purchase I made. I dont understand how there is an ability to " set the funds to XXXX '' after I already followed through with the promotion and utilized the card... I have contacted them requesting a check in the amount {$810.00} or a new valid card with the above balance on it. I have a card ID number for reference that I can provide so that my card can be identified.
