A complaint was submitted to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) twice, once on XX/XX/2021 and again on XX/XX/2021 regarding the methods and practices from SUBURBAN CREDIT CORPORATION used to obtain a debt, from I, ( a living breathing being, operating in good faith, clean hands and not to avoid any actions against me ), and the IDENTITY THEFT/FRAD, that has taken place. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( cfpb ), states that they are built to protect consumers, but yet, continues to overlook this blatant act of IDENTITY THEFT/FRAUD, that has taken place with SUBURBAN CREDIT CORPORATION. A police report has been filed in XXXX XXXX, Virginia. I have contacted XXXX XXXX, and they have stated that my personal information has not been shared, therefore revealing that SUBURBAN CREDIT CORPORATION used deceptive practices and methods to obtain my personal identifiable information. Whether monetary gain was successful or not, obtaining and using my personal identifiable information without my consent and permission in the attempts to collect an alleged debt owed to SUBURBAN CREDIT CORPORATION, is IDENTITY THEFT/FRAD. IDENTITY THEFT/FRAD is a violation of the laws, rules and regulations that SUBURBAN CREDIT CORPORATION stated that they are 100 % compliant with. The following is a copy of the first complaint that was filed with CFPB : Suburban Credit Corporation contacted myself through mail on behalf of XXXX XXXX in the attempts to collect a debt that was allegedly owed and demanded payment in the positive amount of {$470.00}. My personal sensitive patient health information was disclosed without my consent or knowledge, which is a violation of HIPAA and consider Identity theft. On XX/XX/2021 I mailed Suburban Credit Corporation an instrument ( certified mail # XXXX ) with the original bill ( accepted for value and returned for value ), notice of intent fee schedule and an invoice for the violations and totals. I prompt Suburban Credit Corporation to take immediate action within 15 days. The instrument was delivered, and left with an Individual on XX/XX/2021 at XXXX XXXX at Suburban Credit Corporation. No action on their part has been taken to cure the invoice that was given to them. {$25000.00} for Identity theft and HIPAA law violation, {$990.00} for the unlawful practices in the attempts of collection of an alleged debt and {$470.00} for the acceptance of value, bringing the overall total to {$26000.00}. The following is a copy of the second complaint that was filed with CFPB : A complaint was submitted to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) regarding the methods and practices from Suburban Credit Corporation used to obtain a debt, from I, ( a living breathing being, operating in good faith, clean hands and not to avoid any actions against me ), which are unlawful and infringe upon my rights as a living being. The complaint was submitted to the CFPB on XX/XX/2021 and wrongfully closed. Suburban Credit Corporation mistakenly chose to deal with the legal instrument that was signed, sealed and delivered via certified mail as a cease and desist letter. The instrument contained specific instructions and an invoice to cure this matter. The fact that I have never engaged in business with Suburban Credit Corporation, but Suburban Credit Corporation brought it upon themselves to design a form sent by way of postal mail and created an account with personal identifiable information and initiated, initial communication, essentially displays the date identity theft/fraud took place. Suburban Credit Corporation designed a form knowing that such form would be used to create the false belief that participation in the collection of or an attempt to collect a debt allegedly owed. Suburban Credit Corporation intended to use personal identifying information, without my direct permission, to gain financial advantages, obtain credit and other benefits, and perhaps to cause adverse consequences. This matter is a direct violation to the local and federal rules and regulations to which Suburban Credit Corporation state they are 100 % compliant with. Local and federal rules and regulations include identity theft/fraud and all who attempts or conspires to commit any offense and the treatment of the unlawful actions of designing, compiling and furnishing of any deceptive forms. This matter should not be dismissed as a minuscule matter. Under the rules and regulations that govern Suburban Credit Corporation, there are far more consequential repercussions for identity theft/fraud than the instructions that were given in the instrument. The below is the summary of facts that my husband sent to XXXX XXXX, an executive team respondent at XXXX after we were already unable to resolve the matter through XXXX 's usual dispute resolution channels, being bounced to offshore call centers and not given proper updates ; we escalated to their executive support team and Ms. XXXX asked us to e-mail these details. After several follow-ups with Ms. XXXX, she stonewalled us as well, and we have not received any update whatsoever from XXXX in months while this fraudulent collection continues to bog down my credit score. -- - While hiking on XX/XX/XXXX, my wife XXXX obtained a XXXX XXXX that showed no signs of healing over the following two days. On XX/XX/XXXX, the pain was so excruciating that we went to the closest urgent care facility to our home, XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, VA. The office visit was brief and she was prescribed a topical XXXX that would help treat the XXXX and provide pain relief. I retrieved the prescription myself from the pharmacy and administered it to XXXX at home. XXXX filed a claim with our insurance, XXXX claim # XXXX, and they were in-network for our plan. We received the Explanation of Benefits ( attached as " EOB_XXXX.pdf '' ; her claim appears at the bottom of page 2 ) where it showed XXXX billing us for the Office Visit ( code XXXX for {$160.00}, we don't dispute this ) and for " Dressings or Debridement '' ( code XXXX for {$180.00}, the crux of our dispute ). XXXX did not pay anything as we had not yet met our annual deductible, so we were responsible for the full charges. Code XXXX is defined by the XXXX handbook used by all medical offices as " Dressings and/or debridement, initial or subsequent, without anesthesia, large, more than one extremity. '' Not only were no dressings or " debridement '' ( the XXXX XXXX XXXX ) performed at this visit, but only the area of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was effected, hardly " more than one extremity. '' We categorically deny that this service was performed even remotely, and any notation the provider has made saying that she did amounts to nothing more than insurance fraud. We contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX to contest the {$340.00} bill, and were referred to a third-party phone number for their billing contractor. The representative agreed to send back the bill for a review and that they would call us back in about two weeks. That call never came, and as we got caught up with an imminent move from XXXX to XXXX, we admittedly did not remember to follow-up ( and, candidly, as the action item was on them to call us back, we don't feel that we had a responsibility to follow up with them ; they have a duty under the law to bill us accurately and in this regard, they failed repeatedly ). In addition to our claim that the amount on the debt is fraudulent and should only be {$160.00} for the office visit alone, Suburban Credit Corporation made no attempts to contact XXXX or myself in an attempt to collect the debt. We received no phone calls, e-mails, text messages or letters from them, despite keeping the same contact information after the move and having USPS mail-forwarding service established to our new address in XXXX. It is our belief that in Suburban 's failure to do or demonstrate that they did this, they've violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. To that end, we did send them a demand letter two weeks ago ( attached as " XXXX Suburban Credit.pdf '' ) via Certified Mail, USPS tracking number XXXX, and we received a return receipt ( attached as " Return Receipt.pdf '' ) that shows that an " XXXX XXXX '' signed for it on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX. We still have received zero response from Suburban to our allegations of their misconduct. Per the XXXX XXXX XXXX rating of " F '' on Suburban Credit Corporation, it appears that these stonewalling tricks are central to their business model, and we're not their only victims.

Me and my girlfriend are in the process of buying a house. I noticed on my credit report that there was a debt for XXXX dollars from 2010 from Suburban credit corporation. I tried having this debt removed for years but they refused, so I just gave up trying. My girlfriend called ( which I 'm not sure is even legal, without getting permission from me ) to have this debt removed, they stated to her " you have XXXX debts, XXXX for XXXX to XXXX and XXXX to XXXX @ XXXX XXXX. My girlfriend stated " that this debt is not ours but she will pay it so it can be removed off my credit report '', they stated they " would remove the debt that is not mine if she paid the balance ''. So she did, they sent us a reciept, and we waited for it to be removed. In the process of waiting, 10 days go by and we received another bill from the same company stating we owe MORE money, now we owe XXXX to XXXX, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX. I thought it was a mistake. So she calls them and they explain they were very exact with the " wording '' of what they were stating, they stated 'they only told us what we owed on the credit report not the total we owed, and they never said they would remove it, we just asked if they could, and they said yes, they would take care of it '', they took care of it by marking it paid and thats not what they explained at all. and then they threatened to put the new debt collections on the credit report if we did not pay them. Which is not mine to begin with I know that debts are to come off after 7 years and unless they were removed, there would be no point in paying Suburban credit and re-ging the debt that is not mine in the first place, when clearly it has to come off in 1 year anyway, and clearly my girlfriend did not know this, she thought she was doing the right thing. I dont know if this is legal or not but I know that we were lied to and then they threaten us with another debt so they can make more money off the people you clearly lied to is not right, and I plan on taking them to court over this matter.

Company began calling me in XX/XX/2018. Ive requested a copy of the debt as I have zero record of an unpaid bill. The company has refused to send me something in the mail but continues to report it to the credit agencies. When I ask why they refuse to send me something in the mail the responses have been " We did. '' - refuse to admit they never mailed me anything. Even when I explain this is the only piece of mail I seem to never receive and have reconfirmed my address multiple times. " Why don't you learn how to pay your XXXX bills '' - By a female employee in XX/XX/2018. When I asked to speak to a manager at that point he told me I lied and she didn't say it. When I asked the manager why I still am not receiving a copy of my bills he once again said they have sent them but again, as of XX/XX/2018 I have never once received anything in writing from them as requested so I can dispute this charge with the original party as this was a health care bill that should have been covered by my insurance carrier and I've explained that I need more details before I can even attempt to resolve this and get the debt taken away from my name. XX/XX/2018 - called in again. Still refusing to send me something in writing but have not stopped calling me names or telling me to learn how to pay my bills. This is harassment and I want it to stop. I pay my bills on time and have over a XXXX credit score. I am trying to resolve this with the original lender and this company is purposely preventing me from doing so. Hello, I visited the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Virginia in XX/XX/XXXX for a quick medical check, after waiting for 5+ hours at the emergency I could finally see a doctor and was only told that I " needed to see a specialist '' and left. The hospital later billed me about {$500.00} ( ca n't precisely remember the amount $ ). As I was a XXXX overseas at the time, I submitted a financial aid to the hospital but never heard any response from the Emergency until after I came back to the US the following year in XXXX and called them to pay my bill not knowing that they had already approved my financial aid request. I was told over the phone by an agent from their billing department that owed nothing! Now, after more than 2 years I 'm getting this bill from a debit collector " Suburban Credit Corporation '' claiming that I owe them {$420.00}. I keep contacting the hospital about this and they 're saying they ca n't find any track or record of me being owe to the hospital and the debt collector already has my full name, Address and the last 4 digits of my SSN pus the date I visited the hospital. This bill has already affected my credit and unfortunately I 'm not in a great shape financially to afford a lawyer or paying this foggy bill at this point.

I received XXXX from XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) on XX/XX/XXXX. This company at the time outsourced billing to XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). The billing agency said they sent an invoice to my home address on XX/XX/XXXX, that they were told it was a bad address, and then referred the matter to a collection agency. I was living at my home address in XX/XX/XXXX, then moved during the pandemic and returned in XX/XX/XXXX. In XXXX, I received a collection notice from Suburban Credit Corp. This was the first time I was aware that I had a balance of {$98.00} -- I had never received an email, a call, or a postal letter. Suburban Credit Corporation said they had reported my lack of payment to the reporting agencies in XX/XX/XXXX. To update the reporting agencies on what really happened, the collection agency said I needed to take it up directly with XXXX XXXX -- I can not reach anyone to help at this company. XXXX XXXX XXXX says it no longer works as they billing entity to for XXXX XXXX, they too referred me back to XXXX XXXX -- but they have no contact information. My credit may have been harmed. I want XXXX XXXX to update the reporting agencies as they NEVER contacted me about an invoice for {$98.00}. I paid the collection agency this sum.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I had ( XXXX ) medical accounts in the amount of {$47.00}, {$40.00}, & {$330.00}. I called the collection agency and they agreed to settle for {$330.00} which was successfully debited from my checking account on XX/XX/XXXX. After the verbal agreement, I followed up in writing and requested that the collection agency provide there agreement to delete the accounts from my credit report in writing. I never received the letter, but I spoke with XXXX XXXX from the collection agency and was told they would have the accounts removed from my credit report.I called today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and spoke with XXXX XXXX. He began to yell & scream at me because I asked how much longer is this suppose to take because I was initially told it takes 5-14 days. To date those accounts are still reflected on my credit report. I 've held my end of the contract but, they are taking their time fulfilling our agreement. I feel like I should n't have to be talked down to because I called to inquire about our agreement.

SUBURBAN CREDIT CORPORATION has attempted collecting on {$120.00} of medical debt claimed to be incurred during my visits to XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. The collections company states that i failed to make the {$60.00} co-payments during each of these visits. However, I have paid every bill presented to me by the Doctor 's office and the collections agency can not or is not willing to prove that i have not made these payments. The Doctor 's office never billed me for these co-pays or mentioned during my many visits to their practice even month 's after these claimed unpaid visits. I would have definitely paid if they had asked me for co-pays for these visits ( which were by the way follow up visits requested by the Doctor ) either during or after the visits. I have a spotless credit history and have pay every bill that I owe. However, I wo n't be bullied by a collections agency into paying debt that i do not owe and which they can not provide evidence of non-payment off.

I was taken by ambulance to the emergency room in XX/XX/XXXX in XXXX Maryland. I paid for the hospital bills as well as the ambulance fees when they were billed at the time at my address. As of XX/XX/XXXX I am receiving calls from XXXX now that I owe {$100.00} to a doctors ' billing company. XXXX claims that the billing company could not locate my address, even though the other bills came to my address with no problem. Also, the 'old address ' that XXXX XXXX the contact at XXXX, claimed they were using to try to bill me is a totally inaccurate address pieced together from some of my prior addresses. XXXX filed a collections report with Equifax in XX/XX/XXXX - long before I 'd been contacted or had any chance to verify their claims and settle the matter. As XXXX explained to me - they were unable to find an address or any way to get a bill to me. There is no way a collections charge should be applied to my credit score for a charge of which I had no knowledge.

I was in a near fatal car accident on XX/XX/XXXX, I had full coverage including personal injury protection, the other driver also had full coverage. After some minor medical procedures and therapy I was back in good health. Some of my medical appointments were at XXXX XXXX and the billing/payment process was delayed by my insurance company until they could coordinate with the other driver 's insurance company. After about a year the other driver 's insurance company settled, but during that time frame I personally received numerous collection attempts ( even though I was covered ). My credit report still shows an {$82.00} dollar collection from Suburban Credit Corporation despite the bill being settled by my attorney almost two months ago ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I have called numerous times to request removal and they keep saying it will be off next week. This is negatively impacting my otherwise flawless credit history and effecting very important loan rate quotes.

Dear CFPD I am contacting you regarding the collection agency Suburban Credit Corporation. I had 7 negative items items hit my credit reports on XX/XX/XXXX. I was not contacted by this company until today XX/XX/XXXX in writing about the debt owed. The FCRA protect consumers from this business practice which would have given me notice of the debt to determine if it is in fact valid or not and it also gives me 30 days to do so. I have attached a copy of the letter that I received today XX/XX/XXXX. This is a unlawful business practice on behalf of this collection company. Also they separated total balance of {$260.00} into 7 different negative items. They did not send me any communication prior and demanding payment for something I wasn't even aware of. The letter attached is dated XX/XX/XXXX which is the first communication that I have received regarding the alleged debt.

Received phone call on my work line. Individual said it was a personal business matter and would not disclose the nature of the call. I then asked for the name and phone number in which to return the call because I was at work and could not discuss such things. He would not share such information. I then requested for him to not contact me at work, and he then asked to speak to my supervisor. He continued to badger me and I then mentioned to him that I will report him if he continued to harass me. He then said that he 's going to report me. I hung up the phone as work is not the time nor place to deal with harassment. He did n't state where he was from, what the matter was in reference to, his name or any additional information. I did advise him that this was a federal line and that I would report him. In turn, he said he would do the same.

The Letter stated that I owed {$81.00} for a Year XXXX debt associated with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I'm assuming that this Center is in XXXX. I lived in XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX. However, I never received notice of this debt in XX/XX/XXXX nor XX/XX/XXXX when I moved from XXXX back to XXXX. I never received notice of this debt while living in XXXX after moving from XXXX. I wrote two Letters one dated XX/XX/XXXX and the other dated XX/XX/XXXX in response to the debt collection letter. I essentially stated that I was never aware of this debt and that the stature of limitations had expired for collection of this debt. I have not received any correspondence back from Suburban Credit in reply to my letters, to date.

My son XXXX XXXX was hospitalized on XX/XX/16 for a medical emergency. While at the hospital because it was an emergency I was never asked for his insurance card. When I received the first bill about a month later I immediately called and gave his Maryland XXXX Id number which would cover the bill 100 %. I was told by XXXX XXXX XXXX the original creditor not to worry the insurance would be billed. They never billed XXXX insurance and sent the account to collections at XXXX XXXX. When I called Suburban Credit I spoke to two representatives neither of which would let me explain. The first one hung up on me while she was pretending to figure out how to remove this charge and the second one basically said whos to say you called and gave the original creditor your insurance information. In other words calling me a liar.

Last but not the least, the patient in question, by beloved daughter XXXX XXXX XXXX has passed away as well, and this agency is trying to defraud me for a sum of {$20.00} that I do not owe. Last summer, Suburban Credit Corporation began attempting to collect a debt I do not recognize or owe. I sought more information in XXXX XXXX XXXX, and they sent only a bill that I had never received and that in no way demonstrated that I had incurred the debt. I also told Suburban Credit Corporation by phone at that time to stop contacting me. Because this is a medical debt, I also contacted my insurance company in the summer of XXXX which told me that I have no outstanding bills and that there is nothing attached to my name that indicates I owe any money or received any treatment that was not paid for. Then in XXXX of this year, Suburban Credit Corporation again began attempting to collect the debt by mail. Contemporaneously with this complaint I am sending a letter disputing the debt.

After reviewing my credit report i notice a derogatory response in my credit report associated to suburban credit collection in which i sent written notice on ( XX/XX/2021 ) requesting for a validation of this debt under the fair debt collection practice act, that the claim is disputable and validation is requested. instead of validating the debt, Suburban credit collection failed to validate the debt. They equally went ahead to XXXX PIPPA regulations by getting my personal information such as my social security number, a list of my medical record and send them to me on ( XX/XX/2021 ). i never signed a PIPPA form authorizing them to have access to this information. Please i want them to delete this information from my credit file and cease all collection activities immediately.

My credit score dropped significantly and when I asked, they said there was a debt collection agency that reported I did not pay my debt. I did not know about this bill for {$28.00}, and NEVER received any mail, email, and/or phone call from Suburban Credit Corporation. When I called them, they said they are not sure why it was not sent. I immediately paid the bill, and they promised to send me the receipt. I did not receive the receipt for 9 days. When I called, they said their systems are not working and receipts are not usually sent these days. I did not receive any receipt for my payment as well. So overall, I was never notified about the debt, their systems are not working and my credit is massively impacted by this.

On or about XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I received a communication from Suburban Credit Corporation attempting to collect a debt for XXXX XXXX. I wrote to Suburban Credit Corporation on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX disputing the validity of the debt, requesting verification from the original creditor including a statement of charges made and payments received, and demanding they cease collection activities. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I received another demand from Suburban Credit Corporation. They failed to verify the debt, they did not provide proof of the debt, and the communication was a collection attempt. The medical bill to XXXX XXXX has been paid in full, and I have proof of payment in full.

On XX/XX/2020, I requested a cease and desist of telephonic contact, via auto-dialer or other means. On XX/XX/2020 at XXXX ET, Suburban Credit contact me in violation of my cease and desist and using an auto-dialer. This is in violation of my rights, and I thought we had reached an agreement that the debt was uncollectable. However, I received a collection letter last week attempting to collect on the full balance. Aware that my FDCPA claim will be beyond the statute of limitations in a month, I think this is very suspicious and questionable timing. I am requesting relief through this portal as a last-ditch effort before suing Suburban Credit.

I received an alert today ( XX/XX/22 ) from my credit monitoring service that Suburban Credit Corp placed an illegal entry on my credit reported without notifying me. According to the The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, The law : Within five days of initially contacting you, the collector must send written notice of the debt and include : 1.The amount of the debt 2.The name of the original creditor to whom the debt is owed 3. A statement describing your right to dispute the debt I do not owe them any money. I have never spoken with anyone from this company nor have I received any type of documentation from them.

I had a XXXX visit in XX/XX/XXXX and believed that all bills were paid. I moved in early XX/XX/XXXX and had a forwarding order to transfer my mail to XXXX. I kept my same phone number as I had in XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX a collection was placed on my credit report. I had no knowledge that any balance was due. I did not receive any notices or phone calls! On XX/XX/XXXX, I ran my credit report and found this notice. I called the collection company today and they told me that they do n't have to call me. I informed them that I moved in early XX/XX/XXXX.

I agreed to a XXXX procedure. I dispute the balance from the procedure because I did not get what I requested. The physician in question offered to repeat the procedure to give me the desired outcome. Why would I agree to pay XXXX for something that it is obvious the physician could not perform? It may be a good business model for the physician but in my opinion, it 's deceptive advertising. I offered to settle the disputed amount for less. Their response was to report a higher amount as a collection item to XXXX.

This agency is attempting to collect debt that is not owed. Our appointment to the practice was cancelled because the doctor was not available. We were told he had to attend an emergency surgery.
