On XX/XX/2018, I wanted to participate in the federal student loan rehabilitation program, so I clicked on the first ad I saw after doing a XXXX search. I called Student Loans Consolidated and mentioned to them that I had rehabilitated my loan in the past and would like to do it again. They agreed, so we negotiated on the initial fee of three monthly payments of {$180.00} for a total amount of {$540.00}. I made the payments via money orders and then waited for them to contact me with further instructions. In XX/XX/XXXX, I heard somewhere that a person can not rehabilitate a loan twice. I XXXX it and sure enough it was true. I was livid. These people knew that when we talked on the phone and had misled me. I emailed XXXX XXXX and demanded my money back. He said his manager, XXXX XXXX, would be handling my account and contact me concerning any refund. Well, Mr. XXXX never contacted me at that time, and Mr. XXXX said that he handed my account over to their legal team to reverse my rejection. I then threatened to sue them. I have already filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General 's Office, and now with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Company called " Student Loan Consolidation '' charged me {$400.00} they promised my loan would be forgiven. I just found out today that the loan is n't forgiven for 20 to 25 years the gentleman I spoke to lied to me and told me my loan would be forgiven sooner than 10 years. Nowhere in my contract does it say that it would take that long. Also my loan was supposed to be forgiven and now it is in forbearance.
