I was called in early XXXX 2019 about Student Loan Forgiveness. On XX/XX/2019, I called them back and I was told by XXXX of Student Loan Direct 1 ( studentloandirect1.com ) whom I called at the following number : XXXX that I was enrolling in an " Income Based Government Forgiveness Program ''. On XX/XX/2019, I emailed ( XXXX ) her my 2 lowest pay stubs for the last 60 days and a copy of my drivers license. I also gave her my social security number. She said the fee for the program was {$250.00} for 4 months and I gave her my account number so she could start the first payment deduction onXX/XX/2019 which did come out. I digitally signed an agreement with Student Loan Direct 1 authorizing the withdrawals. She also told me that she would get my 2 loans with XXXX in forbearance for 4 months. She recommenced that I contact XXXX in XXXX to discuss how to pay back one of the loans as she was only enrolling my parent plus loan into the program. She said to enroll the other loan into the ICR ( Income Contingent Repayment ) program with Navient at that time. She layed out how much I would be forgiven if I stayed with the program and that the forgiveness would come at the end of 240 months of paying {$5.00} or less per month to their company Student Loan Direct 1. She said I would have to be recertified every year to check my income and that I could do it for free myself online or have them file for me at a cost of $ 199/yr. She recommended I do the filing with them because they were less stringent. She said that if I was not approved for this program in 90 days that I will be refunded all that I paid into the program. I called XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX19 as they sent out a forbearance acceptance so I wanted to talk to them about this Forgiveness Program I enrolled in. They informed me that they don't have any arrangement with Student Loan Direct 1 and that I should put a stop payment on my account, file a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and also file a local police report.

My name is XXXX XXXX and I received a call yesterday from XXXX XXXX in which she introduced herself as a student Loan Advisor. I was under the impression that she was with my Federal student loans. XXXX spoke very fast and I had had a bad day already and really was not focused as to all the red flags that she was saying within a short timebut by then XXXX had already completed a contract. Yes, I should have been more focused but at the same time I was telling her that I could not afford the five up front payments that she was saying I needed to make. But let me reinerate that I thought at the time we were speaking with XXXX XXXX XXXX. At this time I am on forbearance with my loans because my husband was without a job for over 2 and an half years and we lost everything but our house. I did e-sign the documents but it was not until she was completing this information that a true red flag hit me, sort of speak. She said that they were not associated with the Department of Education. That statement hit me with a ton of bricks. The contract states that I am to pay five months of XXXX per month and no payments after that until I was approved for part of my loan being forgiven. I am retired and on XXXX and people like this prey on the vunerable and you would think at XXXX that I would of clicked at the beginning but she was no nonsense and kind of pushed me through. I can not afford these kind of payments and Student Loan Direct should be ashamed of themselves for this kind of practice. This is a shame that there is this type of practice out there for people out there that have hit hard times and have vulchers like these companies. I did not want this in the first place and just feel that I was basically sucked in.

Student Loan direct. They called me after I graduated college. They had been calling me for sometime. Because I work for the govt, I never thought about a scam because they had most of all my Info. I Know I could have qualified for this program, and our house had burnt a week before and I thought this was legit. They told me because I was govt. I could get student loan forgiveness. They told me they would take care of almost all the loan but I need 4 payments of XXXX, that was my share of the remainder. So they took.all payments out. I called to check on my. Loans and there has been no payments made nor anything removed or relieved. The office of ombudsman said to contact everyone. I. Called the bank and all that. It's scary that they took that much money from me and I saw no concern about this at all. It seemed legit. Now my loans are all screwed up. I now owe my school and I'm out {$240.00} x 4. This really sets me off. If you look at the reviews they also use other Alias to collect. All the money they have taken is on the XXXX WEBSITE. Hope they send them all to the chamber for doing this to low income families. Please stop this circus. My case is just one of the millions. I was on the phone for 5 hours listening to the student loan lenders that I had been a victim of fraud. Had I not checked on my loans, I would have never known what was promised, never happened. Way to go scammers. I hate that you sleep at night after taking advantage and lying to people day after day. Thank you, XXXX XXXX

I received a call from the number ( XXXX ) XXXX - XXXX from XXXX XXXX, CA on XX/XX/2019. They told me I was pre-approved for a student loan forgiveness from Student Loan Direct. They asked for my name, my burthday, and for my FAFSA log-in information. The employer was XXXX XXXX. His personal work phone number is ( XXXX ) XXXX-XXXX He even asked me for my password for FAFSA, and I told him I did not remember, so he reset it for me and made his own password. He then told me my total loan amount was : {$38000.00} and after interest it would be {$61000.00}. He said if I made four monthly payments for {$250.00}, I would then be put in a program that would allow me to pay {$0.00} for 240 months. After the 240 months, my ENTIRE student loan would be pay off at the total of {$60000.00}. They then sent a contract to my email, and asked me to sign on the spot without having the chance to read and go through. They asked for a debit/credit card that I can make the monthly payments. They did keep repeating that they had nothing to do with the Department of Education and that they needed to submit my application first.

I enrolled in the student loan income driven program with student loan direct 1. I have been paying them since 2018 - present. I just found out that the company is fake and ALL my monthly payments, monthly processing fees, and yearly recertification fees have been going to this fake company, and not my actual student loan. This fake company has had access to all my personal information, such as : bank information, social security number, address, phone number, date of birth, passwords, tax information, employment information and paystubs, etc. I have been scammed for thousands of dollars. I'm not even sure what other damage has happened since they have had all my information and taking my money. the webiste for the fake company is : https : //www.studentloandirect1.com/

I saw a shared post on XXXX saying StudentLoanDirect1.com could help with my loan forgiveness and debt consolidation. I was told to contact XXXX XXXX at XXXX. She explained how her businsss works and that they work with the Department of Education ( DOE ). It sounded legitimate. A few days later a friend told me they were scammed from a company just like that. After contacting my loan servicer and the DOE, I quickly learned that the company is a scam. They have my SSN, FSA ID, and credit card number. Even though they gave me a refund and claimed all of my info was purged from their database, I am still worried about my sensitive info. I also changed my FSA ID and notified my bank of the scam.
