Student Loan Care ( SLC ) called me in mid- XX/XX/XXXX , multiple t imes, each time presenting themselves fraudulently ( without me initially knowing ) as a " federal loan servicer. '' Whereas, most other companies were " servicers of federal loans, '' and they explained that I would " not have to pay anything '' - but they only told a half-truth in that they meant " not have to pay anything toward my loan. '' In reality, they were not a federal loan servicer, nor a loan service whatsoever, they are a consolidation sc am artist com pany that preys on college students to enter agreements which they do not fully understand. The entire conversation that I had with the SLC representative did not o nce indicate that I would be charged a monthly fee for their consolidation services nor that I would be paying them anything at all. So, I reporte d them on XX/XX/XXXX to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Lo-and-behold, a new company ( who I was also unaware of ) named XXXX XXXX XXXX res ponded, declared I was a liar, but then agreed to close the case and return my money. Now, here we are , XX/XX/XXXX an d I r eceived a phone call from Student Loan Care asking about my account and what happened. They wanted to k now if I was still " using their services '' and if I planned to continue using them. I politely explained to the representative that I believed their company and their loan comp any ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) wer e very manipulative and scammed me into accepting their services - which I would not have taken otherwise. That 's the main point of contention : Had I been clearly informed on the telephone about the services Student Loan Care/ XXXX XXXX were offering ( to consolidate my debt, put my loan in deferment, and then reapply me each year ) I would NOT have taken them. Instead, I was coerced through manipulative half-truth type of language into accepting their consolidation services in the understanding that they were a " federal loan servicer. '' Today, the representative presented me two options : " Pay 40 % of the total debt that w ould be accrued this year '' ( which would be {$560.00} ) or they would send it off to collections agency and make me pay the full amount of {$1400.00}. I, due to my belief that this was a very manipulative, coercive, and shady deal, one that was not detailed or clarified appropriately in initial communication via telephone, feel not responsible to make any payment toward Student Loan Care, XXXX XXXX , or otherw ise. This is XXXX XXXX I have been dealing with XXXX XXXX and now have Student Loan Care llc contacting me from XXXX XXXX XXXX to say I 'm passed due and need to pay XXXX $ or my account will cancel. Once cancelled they will have to report XXXX $ on my credit that I will have to pay back. I consolidated my student loans a few months back in XXXX 2017 and did n't realize this company was n't in charge of my real student loans just the " interests '' and would help with my total amount. I signed a document for them to get auto payments until they had 3 payments of XXXX. Now that my bank has stopped payments when I found out I 'm getting calls like this ... Hi this message is for XXXX XXXX my name is XXXX calling from sitting OK I a.m. calling in regards to a notification received by _____. Since it looks like you have missed ___ see payments your account balance with them is {$130.00} if payment is not received by tomorrow Friday XX/XX/XXXX your account will be place of the charge off with that means is that the account will be canceled. Since I would be marked um and negative on your credit report and you would have XXXX full him some of the {$1400.00} and one of them um you can please give me a call back at XXXX that is my direct line or you can send a response to the email or text message talk to you then bye-bye They are also texting me back after my bank stopped their automatic payments. XXXX who handle my student loans said twice that they were not a real company and nothing I pay them goes to my student loans and that I Was scammed. The number texting me was XXXX XXXX XXXX ... 1 ) Your account with XXXX XXXX has become past due. To avoid additional fees please give me a call within 24 hours at XXXX. Failure to r 2 ) espond with 24 hours, may result in negative credit and suspension of your enrollment with Student Loan Care LLC.
Scammers Sir we have submitted a consolidation on your behalf. I have left a message with my attorney generals office in case what I signed they can put on my credit. Any advice would be great! XXXX XXXX

I contracted with the Student Loan Care ( studentloancarecompany.com ) to apply the federal student loan forgiveness program on XX/XX/XXXX. They said they would pay for my loan one year instead of me, then I need to pay for them {$42.00} every month. I believed their services and I did not care well about my student loan payment.
However, I had to pay {$45.00} every month to XXXX XXXX XXXX as well as XXXX XXXX automatically charges monthly {$42.00} immediately from my bank account.
In XXXX, I realized my loan balance increased and paid nothing for a while. I just found the record my little paid. I have tried to contact and cancel with the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and then stop the payment to XXXX XXXX. They said I can not cancel until my paid off. I didn't understand why I have to pay them every month for my federal student loan. They did not pay for anything but gave me a damage of my credits.
I have NOT received any services or notification from these companies for my loan payment. I was SO upset and complain them, but they are still taking {$42.00} every month from my account. I confirmed with XXXX XXXX XXXX that they are not associated with these companies. I already paid them over {$1200.00}. But my XXXX XXXX balance is not changed.
The Student Loan Care and XXXX XXXX are defraud to threatening student finance.
And, I am very wondering how they know my federal loan balance and personal information. I am assuming XXXX XXXX serving or XXXX leak out students ' information.
So that they are running their business without any association of Federal government.
I got phone calls SO MANY TIMES from this kind of companies. They said all same words to concern my loan balance and help me. It was not only The XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.
I would like you resolve this problem ASAP. Thank you.

XX/XX/XXXX. email to company XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Hi , I called to get my account canceled in XX/XX/XXXX. I was under the impression your company was working for the government helping me pay off my student loans. I was scammed. Now I'm upset because it hit my credit score. However, I had no idea I was taking a loan out from your company. I need this off my credit and I need to speak to someone in higher management to reconcile this out.

In XXXX of 2016, Student Loan Care , LLC, contacted me via phone and claimed to have a relationship with the Department of Education and that they would take over my loans with XXXX XXXX XXXX and that I would pay them. XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX misinformed and misconstrued the nature of what Student Loan Care , LLC actually was. They said they could lower my payment, they would consolidate my loans, and have them forgiven. They never once stated that they simply were a paid paper filer doing a job that I was already doing for free. I was completely taken advantage of from the representatives, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, and told out right lies. For the past year, I was told I was making payments towards my student loan, not towards a service to have Student Loan Care , LLC submit papers for me at the cost of {$1400.00}. Student Loan Care , LLC is a scam and is taking advantage of students with extreme student loan debt who are seeking relief. They have messed up my loans with XXXX XXXX XXXX and have fraudulently collected money from me via their partnership with XXXX XXXX. I am contacting my bank and reporting fraud, contacting the attorney state general, and the credit bureaus about wrongfully and deceivingly taking my information.

I was charged {$42.00} per month for the past year, XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX via an online payment system called XXXX XXXX as a service fee for consolidating my loans and managing my account through a third-party company called Student Loan Care. My official student loan servicer informed me that Student Loan Care was essentially committing fraud by charging me a service fee. Student Loan Care also sent me daily emails about the annual re-certification process for student loan forgiveness and requested that all correspondence go through them instead of my official servicer. When I questioned my official loan servicer about this, they informed that that is suspiscious activity from Student Loan Care, and that I should not be paying any fee because my loans have already been consolidated with them via the Department of Education and that I have no fees to pay according to their records. I was also recommended by my official loan servicer to file a complaint with the state 'Consumer Bureau, ' alert the Department of Education about the suspected fraud, and seek legal council.

In XXXX XXXX, I applied for the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX program offered to me through mail by Student Loan Care , LLC. They added a 3rd party company named XXXX XXXX to finance what I thought was my federal student loans being rolled over to their company to be repaid. I expected that my federal loans would be rolled over to XXXX XXXX, but unfortunately, I later found out that the {$1400.00} that I was to pay in payments of {$42.00} a month was actually a FEE for their so-called services. I called my federal loan servicer and they had never heard of these 2 companies and my accounts were not in any kind of process of being rolled over. They were deceitful in their information and I feel that I was n't fully informed when I signed the contract. I have a high amount of student loans, I work two jobs, and have a young family and I was desperate for help with my loans. I feel embarrassed and frustrated to have fallen for this scam!

I was contacted by a third party consolidation company who I thought was with the government but I was mistaken. I provided personal information in hopes to consolidate all my loans to one payment/interest rate. After I was given a quote he said it would be a couple days to process and after doing some research discovered I could consolidate my loans through the department of education myself for FREE and this company was charging me XXXX dollars. After calling him back to confront him he responded with a yes you can do that in a smart aleck response. I gave him my FSA ID, SS number, bank statements, and contact information and after talking to the Department of education was a huge mistake. Company is called Student Loan Care or XXXX.

I received a notice in the mail marked SECURE and it said I was recently eligible for Loan forgiveness. There were several options listed for what I could be eligible for and I called the number on the letter and gave the representative my eligibility code. I had to call them several times because the call kept getting disconnected. Finally, after hours on the phone, they said I was eligible for the Revised Pay As You Earn program and my monthly payments would go down drastically for the next 10 years or so. The only sensitive information they took was my FSA ID and my bank account and routing number, but I was warned not to give this info to anyone. I asked the person if I could have done this on my own online, and they said no.

Sometime 2 years ago a company called Student Loan Care contacted me and said that they would help me get my loans forgiven because I work for a non profit. They said that they would consolidate my loans and then get me into the forgiveness program as well as the payment by income program. They did consolidate my loans and did get me in the Payment program however they never got me in the forgiveness program. They also charged me XXXX a month for over 2 years now to be in this program that is actually offered for free from the government. I have filed Fraud charges with my bank to get stop payment started on them.

This account is being reported inaccurately and incorrectly on my credit report. I see multiple 30 days late marks which is a clear violation of my right under the FCRA.
