Applied for an XXXX for {$5000.00} on XX/XX/2022 through Stride Funding ( https : //www.stridefunding.com/ ) who advertises on the front of their website as students not needing a cosigner and no minimum XXXX score to be eligible. They also have a list of Eligibility Criteria that can be seen here : https : //www.stridefunding.com/criteria. I met all of the listed criteria. I was conditionally approved on XX/XX/2022, and the notice stated that all they needed was a transcript or proof of enrollment. I had my school email over a copy of my transcript, and then called the company on XX/XX/2022 and XX/XX/2022 to make sure they received it and would be able to finish processing my application. On the evening of XX/XX/2022, I called again to get an update on thee status of the application. The representative on the phone stated that they were just reviewing my transcript but everything looked good and there was no reason to worry. She also stated that if I was going to be denied they would have already done so prior to getting to that point in the process, so I should be looking out for a formal contract by close of the next business day. On XX/XX/2022, I had not gotten an update, so I called again, and the first representative that I spoke stated that I was not approved due to my XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX because I am receiving a XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ) instead of a XXXX in XXXX. When I asked why that mattered and if I could speak to an underwriter or manager, she stated that the difference was that there were " different outcomes to the two programs ''. When I asked for further clarification, she stated that she could get me to a manager. The alleged manager that I spoke to then changed the decline reason to creditworthiness. I asked why the prior representative had stated that my decline was pertaining to my educational program, and she could not respond to that. I asked her why I was conditionally approved and all the notification mentioned was needing proof of enrollment to complete the process, and she could only state that an Adverse Action Letter was being sent my way. I did try to explain that I am a new mother that is trying to finish my last year of my XXXX XXXX She stated that there was nothing she could do and hung up on me. I was subject to extremely misleading information and a predatory process by this company. In summary, the company advertises that there is no minimum credit score and no cosigner needed to be eligible. I met all eligibility requirements listed clearly on their website. Upon being conditionally approved, I received notice that all they needed was a copy of my transcript or proof of enrollment which was provided in a timely manner. I also was told by a representative that I would be gaining final approval by the end of the next business day, and there was no reason to worry. I was then denied. I believe they intentionally mislead applicants by failing to mention that creditworthiness is a factor and then stating what that eligibility looks like. It is not mentioned anywhere on the site or on my conditional approval notification. They also fully pulled my credit without requesting my formal consent, which further evidences that they failed to mention creditworthiness as a part of the process.

My complaint against Stride Launch Servicing for their unjustified loan charge against me. In XXXX I signed an Income Share Agreement ( ISA ) with XXXX for my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX. As per the terms of the contract I was supposed to pay 15 % of my monthly salary as an instalment after my employment for a period of 36 months ( which may be extended up to 48 months ) until I reach the highest cap amount of {$34000.00} if my income is more than {$44000.00} yearly. But if my income is less than the threshold income, I would pay {$0.00} dollar until my income reaches the threshold. The payment would automatically stop when I fulfil either of the conditions such as paying the highest cap or reaching the 48 months, whichever comes first. First two years I didnt have to pay instalments since my income continuously was below the threshold income and my payment was deferred to the next year. Incidentally, my account was transferred to Stride Launching Services ( LS ) in XXXX. Stride LS sent me an email, asking me to open an account and start paying my instalment. Accordingly, I opened an account in their Stride portal and sent them a message, informing them that, since my income is below the income threshold, I am not liable to pay my ISA payment. I sent my tax return documents as proof. In return, they informed me that they may need more evidence or proof of my income such as w2/1099 ( message copy enclosed ). They asked me to submit proof of my wife 's income too as evidence. Accordingly, I started to make regular correspondence with Stride over the phone sending messages to know about my status and asking them about my next course of action ( message copy enclosed ). But surprisingly without giving me any reason, they started charging me a monthly instalment of {$980.00} showing a fictitious yearly income which doesnt reflect in my actual yearly income as per my documents. Denying their claim, I gave a number of reminders to them and requested them to re-evaluate my yearly income ( message copy enclosed ). At one point I was told to submit my all W2/1099 as proof of income for the year XXXX by one of the support team members of Stride LS when I contacted them over the phone. But they kept on pressing me to pay my past due amount of {$3900.00} or my account would be delinquent and will be sent for collection. Time and again I asked them to correct my yearly income statement, but they are neither denying my claim nor they are taking any action to correct the income statement for unknown reasons. It has become a great concern for me and I am feeling helpless. enclosed : Attached are the documents of the exchanged messages with Stride

I attended XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX. I began the course XXXX XXXX. I agreed to take this course because they offered a XXXX program option. This option gives you the opportunity to take the course up front with no cost and you pay the loan back as soon as you secure a job. The repayment amount is capped at a certain amount and you don't pay until you have the income to pay back the loan. This option was very beneficial to me because I didn't want to get any more student loan debt. During the course, I began to have housing issues which started to affect my attendance and school work. So after speaking with my counselors, I agreed to request a leave of absence. By accepting, I would be allowed to return to class within a year. I made this request in XXXX of XXXX. I reached out to XXXX ( enrollment counselor ) from XXXX through email in XXXX of XXXX ( within the time allotted ). Another representative from XXXX XXXX called and informed me that the XXXX program ( XXXX ) was cancelled and the only way that I can continue the program, I had to get a traditional loan, they wouldn't cover the complete cost just a portion. This was devastating because the XXXX option was the part of the motivation for me taking the program. Then to add insult to injury, XXXX failed to inform in advance of the cancellation prior to my attempt to re-enroll. So now I have to pay back this loan and I still haven't completed the course. When I expressed my frustration to XXXX XXXX, they just brushed me off and lied and said that someone would look into the matter, but no one ever reached out to me again. XXXX XXXX XXXX servicer was XXXX but it was later transferred to Stride. My current payment is due XX/XX/XXXX. I have attached the documents containing the proof of allegation made in this complaint.

Stride Funding uses XXXX XXXX to manage an Income Share Agreement that I signed for my time in the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The company has on multiple occasions debited unauthorized amounts from my checking account. Most recently, on XX/XX/XXXX, with my account in good standing and without any past due amounts, they drafted {$630.00} from my checking account without my authorization. This amount is the total amount due for XXXX, which isn't due until XX/XX/XXXX. My payments are drafted bi-monthly for half on the XXXX and half on the XXXX, but due to what they described as an " error in their payment system '', they drafted the full amount on the first and the recurring payment that was set up was cancelled. When I called on XX/XX/XXXX to complain about the unauthorized draft, they said they would refund the money and it would take XXXX business days. As of today, XX/XX/XXXX, that money has not been returned. Additionally, I learned today that they mistakenly initiated a refund for a legitimate payment processed in XXXX, and now my account is flagged as Past Due and assessed me late fees. ( For visibility they did waive the late fees, but my account still shows past due and I received a call for payment ). This second refund which was never requested has also not been returned to my checking account. As I mentioned this is not the first time this has happened, and in the past I was forgiving enough to let the issue pass, but as the company has repeatedly mismanaged and abused my account, I want to register a formal complaint against them.

In XXXX of XXXX, I filed for a XXXX XXXX bankruptcy and my discharge was granted in XXXX of XXXX. The discharge included the debtor, i.e., XXXX, XXXX XXXX, Stride Funding, for an Income Share Agreement Contract ( ISA ) in the amount of {$15000.00} signed XXXX, XXXX for attending XXXX XXXX, a software engineering bootcamp. The creditors were included in the bankruptcy, but ever since the discharge in XXXX of XXXX, the creditor Stride Funding has consistently attempted to collect on the discharged ISA debt. The attorney handling my bankruptcy sent Stride and XXXX XXXX letters on numerous occasions to stop collecting - XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, i.e., one for each invoice they sent via US mail. Now, in a recent collection letter dated XXXX of XXXX, they are passing this ISA to a new Servicer, i.e., XXXX XXXX, XXXX. in XXXX of XXXX to collect on this ISA. The attorney handling my bankruptcy suggested the next step for me is to reach out to a law firm handling these types of cases and sue using an agency he referred. When I entered into the ISA agreement, I was never informed the ISA contract was a Student Loan nor was I informed the contract was not a dischargeable in cases of bankruptcy. Now instead of dealing with attorneys and the courts again, I simply want Stride to stop collecting and honor the discharge.

A loan for a XXXX XXXX XXXX I participated in ( XXXX XXXX ) was sold to a 3rd party servicer. I recently received notification of a missed payment from XXXX XXXX. It also appears that XXXX XXXX credit reported this missed payment incorrectly. The program through which I incurred the loan with XXXX XXXX has a contract stating that the loan I took out is not credit bearing and is interest free. In XXXX of XXXX, a payment of {$6000.00} was applied to the principal balance, but XXXX and XXXX XXXXg have been harassing me for payments ever since. I have also been receiving repeated phone calls after having notified the XXXX XXXX representatives that I currently am unemployed. Under the agreement from the program per the program contract, payments can be paused for up to XXXX months at a time if program participants are unemployed. This pause can be renewed without any limit. Furthermore, there is a recorded phone call I had with a XXXX XXXX Representative in XX/XX/XXXX during which the representative stated that there was no deadline to submit confirming unemployment documentation, yet XXXX XXXX has continued calling me multiple times a day. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX reviews on XXXX XXXX reflect that this lender frequently operates fraudulently at the expense of unsuspecting consumers.
