I received a threat of a lawsuit from Strauss, Factor, Laing and Lyons for their client XXXX XXXX XXXX. In 2020 I asked XXXX XXXX the original named creditor under Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, 15 USC 1692g to provide validation of the debt. They replied that they had sold the debt to XXXX and had no proof of debt and were not required to provide proof because they were not pursuing the claim. Subsequently, I have repeatedly asked XXXX to provide me with proof of debt under the relevant federal laws cited above. This request was also made in the state of California and is also covered under California Penal Code which provides for a fine of {$100.00} per day for each day that the proof is not provided. That amount now totals approximately {$54000.00} and continues to accrue because rather than providing proof of debt, XXXX has instead decided to harass and threaten me.
I have attached my first Identity Theft Report which has subsequently been updated as companies have assisted. XXXX XXXX has refused to assist and has never provided any documentation. That refusal has delayed my update of my ID Theft report and has delayed my ID Theft Insurance claim.

I received the FIRST notice of the debt on XXXX/XXXX/2016. Before I could even dispute this debt I received A wage attachment hearing notice on XXXX/XXXX/2016. I never received notice of judgment or lawsuit on this debt. I do not even know what this debt is for? Not even sure this debt is mine!
