On XX/XX/2020 at approximately XXXXXX/XX/XXXX. I spoke with multiple agents within the General Revenue Corporation. I first spoke with an agent who went by the name XXXX. I called GRC in an attempt to close the account I had with their company and was informed that the account could be settled for 50 % of the amount allegedly owed. The settlement amount was supposed to be {$880.00}. I was unsure whether the offer was valid and was transferred to a supervisor who went by the name XXXX. The supervisor assured me that the offer was valid and if paid the account would be closed and have a {$0.00} balance due. I questioned the supervisor about receiving confirmation of the accounts closure via email and the supervisor informed me that the company was in the process of changing " systems '' and that she was unable to send an email at the time. XXXX stated that the transfer of their systems would take a few days and that if I called back at a later day that she would be able to email a confirmation of the payment made and also confirmation that the account had a {$0.00} balance due. I assumed that the company and its representatives were acting in good faith and that the information I was being given was true and factual. I submitted the payment on XX/XX/2020 in the amount of {$880.00}. XXXX also stated that GRC reports all of their accounts to the credit bureaus on the first of each month. On XX/XX/2020 I called GRC in an attempt to follow up with someone regarding the statements that XXXX had made and to receive confirmation that the account did indeed have a {$0.00} balance due and to inquire whether the same information was being reported to the credit bureaus. On XX/XX/2020 I spoke with another supervisor who went by the name XXXX. I spoke with XXXX at approximately XXXX XX/XX/XXXXand XXXX offered completely different information than what XXXX had previously offered. During the conversation XXXX stated " you do not know what you're talking about '', " it doesn't matter what XXXX said they will not send any sort of email '', " I am absolutely sure that no one ever told you anything like that ''. Every call placed with GRC is allegedly recorded and can be monitored. XXXX stated to me that it was impossible for me to speak with anyone in their compliance department and I could not speak to anyone other than her. I have attempted to deal with this account several times in the past and have not been successful in any attempt to close this account. GRC has been responsible for sending letters that were misleading in the amount owed and have been misleading with providing information on how and when this account would be closed even after it has been paid. I feel as though I have been lied to by an agent of this company and when the misleading information has been brought to their attention they have done nothing to rectify their misleadings and have been disrespectful as well. XXXX words were verbatim, " it doesn't matter what she told you, we don't do that period. '' The tactics this company has used have been misleading from the beginning of their attempt to collect this debt and now they have become disrespectful verbally and have used abusive language when discussing their misleading tactics.

I am writing to address a matter of utmost concern regarding an alleged debt collection activity initiated by the General Revenue Corporation ( hereinafter referred to as " GRC '' ) approximately XXXX months ago. The purpose of this complaint is to underscore what I perceive to be a blatant violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). During the aforementioned time frame, I was contacted by a representative of GRC via telephone. The purpose of this communication was to request payment for an alleged outstanding balance associated with XXXX XXXX. At that time, I took the opportunity to clarify my stance on the matter. I explained to the female representative on the phone that I had previously disputed the balance in question directly with XXXX XXXX. I emphasized that, according to the terms of my XXXX loans, it was XXXX XXXX XXXX responsibility to address and manage any financial obligations on my behalf. To my astonishment, my sincere explanation was met with a sarcastic comment from the GRC representative, which I found to be highly unprofessional and discourteous. Furthermore, during this telephone conversation, I explicitly requested that GRC provide me with all pertinent documentation pertaining to this alleged debt in writing, as mandated by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. According to this legislation, debt collectors are obligated to furnish a written debt validation notice within five days of their initial contact with a debtor. This notice should include crucial information such as the amount owed, the name of the creditor, and instructions on how to dispute the debt in writing. Regrettably, I have not received any such documentation from GRC despite my repeated requests. To compound these concerns, I have recently discovered that GRC has reported this disputed debt to a credit bureau. This action has had a detrimental impact on my creditworthiness and financial standing. This act, coupled with the aforementioned issues, demonstrates a disregard for both ethical debt collection practices and the legal obligations outlined in the FDCPA. I am deeply disappointed by the unprofessional conduct exhibited by GRC during our interactions and the apparent disregard for the FDCPA regulations that are in place to protect consumers. Therefore, I kindly request that GRC immediately cease all collection activities related to this alleged debt and rectify any negative reporting made to credit bureaus. I understand that GRC will try AFTER this complaint to mail me the required information, but at this point, they have violated the FDCPA.

General Revenue Corporation XXXX left a message on our home phone voicemail stating that they are a collection agency for student loans for our son. Leaving a different telephone number XXXX to call them back with a identification number. My son called them back and they gave him a collection amount of {$8000.00} he owed on student loans. Which this amount is incorrect. They told him that to pay off right away the amount is {$6800.00} or the other option would be a down payment of {$1000.00} with monthly payments of {$200.00} a month. They also mailed a letter with a demand of payment that was suspicious. The method of payment was for a credit card or debit card only. We did some research on the internet about this company and their webpage was very suspicious. We checked the student aid website to confirm that Subsidized and Unsubsidized Direct Loans are protected by the Cares Act. Private loans like Perkins Loans and FFEL-Federal Family Education Loan are not protected by the Cares Act. Login into your federal student loan account and check the status first. Then he contacted federal student aid XXXX to check on his account to make sure that the same loan servicer that manages his account was still in effect. After that he called his Loan Servicer company which confirmed also that his student loan payments is still deferred under the Cares Act. That deferred status has been extended to XX/XX/2021 by the Cares Act, and his account has never been turned over to collection. Never give these people any personal information. Always check on your own student loans accounts yourself first by logging into your account. Then call federal student aid at XXXX for additional help and questions about your loan status. Do not call these people back. If there is a problem with your loan find out from federal student aid who your loan service company is and how to contact them first. Then follow their instruction. If your loan service company changes you will be notified in writing who the new company is. The new company will contact you in writing with all the contact information and explaining that they are your new loan servicer. Check your credit report, it will contain all your student loan accounts and the name of your loan servicer, address and telephone number. This telephone call is a student loan scam.

On or about XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from General Revenue Corporation regarding an alleged debt. According to the letter that was dated XXXX/XXXX/2020 I was in debt with XXXX XXXX University in the amount of {$2100.00}. This amount included a collection cost of {$420.00} and the entire balance was assigned account number XXXX. Upon receipt of this letter I requested validation of this debt from GRC. I submitted multiple letters to GRC requesting further validation of the debt and my requests were received by GRC on XXXX/XXXX/20 and XXXX/XXXX/20. The letters were received by XXXX XXXX and XXXX. On or about XXXX/XXXX/2020 I received another letter from GRC that alleged to validate this debt. The letter stated that the information we provided to the consumer reporting agencies is accurate and will continue to be reported in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Enclosed is validation to support the reported information. The letter I received on or about XX/XX/XXXX stated that I was in debt to XXXX XXXX University in the amount of {$1700.00} and this amount included a collection cost of {$350.00}. Both the total amount owed, and the collection cost were different than the original amounts alleged on the letter I received on or about XXXX/XXXX/2020. The letter suggested that it validated the original debt however the amounts owed on each letter were different. The letter I received around XX/XX/XXXX2020 that allegedly validated the debt also included a statement from XXXX XXXX University. The statement was not a contract and it also did not contain any type of identifying marks that suggested that I had agreed to this debt with the university. The statement alleged that the debt was derived from federal financial aid. I was not a student with the university during the time of the alleged debt and I am also currently enrolled in school with the University XXXX XXXX. All of my student loans with the U.S. Department of Education are in deferment status while I am a student. I am unaware of the legitimacy of this debt and have not ever been contacted by XXXX XXXX University regarding this debt or any other debt. GRC is attempting to collect an unvalidated debt and have sent numerous misleading and threatening letters in their attempt to collect this alleged debt.

I was initially contacted by General Revenue on or about XX/XX/2020 regarding an alleged debt. The debt allegedly derived from XXXX XXXX University and was allegedly {$2100.00}. The initial letter I received stated that the principal balance was {$1600.00} and additionally a " collection cost '' of {$420.00} was added to the principal balance bringing the total alleged debt amount to {$2100.00}. I have attempted to resolve this issue multiple times with General Revenue in the past. I have also contacted the financial aid office with XXXX XXXX University and have been told " it was not heir problem ''. When I requested validation of the alleged debt I received a letter from General Revenue containing a list of charges. The alleged debt derived from a Federal Student Loan that I never received from XXXX XXXX University and the loan was allegedly received by myself when I was not enrolled in the university. The list of charged stated that I owed a principal balance of {$1400.00} along with a " collection cost '' of {$350.00} bringing the total alleged debt to {$1700.00}. General Revenue alleged to validate a debt with a completely different principal balance and a different amount charged as their " collection cost ''. General Revenue has placed this account on my credit report without validating the debt or even the actual amount allegedly owed. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) specifically states that " A debt collector may not use any false, deceptive, or misleading representation or means in connection with the collection of any debt. '' Falsely representing the amount of a debt is a blatant and direct violation of section 807 of the FDCPA. General Revenue falsely represented the amount allegedly owed in regards to the Principal balance.General Revenue has also added their own fees to this alleged debt in the amount of a " collection cost ''. Section 808 of the FDCPA states '' The collection of any amount ( including any interest, fee, charge, or expense incidental to the principal obligation ) unless such amount is expressly authorized by the agreement creating the debt or permitted by law '', is a violation of the law.

This company, General Revenue Corporation is going against the law and reporting a debt in my name that not only doesn't belong to me, but they also have not provided any documents with my signature attached as requested as well, and they have received my information from a third party, which was shared without my consent!!! I also did not pay any debt with this company as they stated! This company does not even have my correct information. General Revenue Corporation stated that they received my personal information from a third party, in which I did not consent and/or give any permission to do so! I have never given consent to share any of my personal information to anyone and my personal information has been shared to report something to my name! This is against the law and General Revenue Corp should not be reporting anything on my name since they do not have any consent to do so from the third party that they stated they received my information from. **The general rule under the Privacy Act is that an agency can not disclose a record contained in a system of records unless the individual to whom the record pertains gives prior written consent to the disclosure. ** A. I received a letter from a company called General Revenue stating I owe them {$5500.00} from an alleged debt owed to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I pulled my credit report to also find General Revenue as a debt owed. I have never heard of this company before and have no legal obligations to pay them. On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent a certified letter asking the company to validate the debt. The letter was received and signed by General Revenue on XX/XX/XXXX. The letter also stated to cease and desist all collection activity during this 30 day timeframe of validation. General Revenue sent me a statement from Indiana XXXX XXXX, but the statement did not validate the debt showing my signature as a legal agreement to pay a debt to General Revenue. So General Revenue continued collection activity on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX. I received a voicemail from XXXX XXXX attempting to collect on a debt that was never validated and I put a cease and desist in writing asking the company not to contact me. I consider this harassment, especially since I was not provided the proper documentation validating a debt they claim I owe. I contacted General Revenue and asked for a manager and they put a team lead on the line by the name of XXXX who said she would have her manager call me when she returns from lunch. I received a call from a manager representing General Revenue by the name of XXXX who stated they validated the debt and it was within their rights to continue collection activity. I have the conversation with XXXX and XXXX on recording for proof. Per FDCPA, I requested validation of a debt owed and told the company to cease and desist collection activity and she and her company completely disregarded my demand. I am filing this complaint with the CFPB for a violation of FDCPA guidelines and harassment.

I keep getting calls from this number ( XXXX ) XXXX, saying they are calling from general revenue corporation to collect a debt. I know I was behind on payments, but I had just received a letter from the school asking if I wanted to apply for a deferment, due to my income. I signed the letter and sent it back. About two weeks ago, I was still receiving that I had an amount due, so I made a payment of {$170.00}, so I can catch up on the {$1400.00} I owed. I then later on kept getting calls from this number, which I answered and they kept asking for my birthday to verify identity, but I felt uncomfortable giving them that information since I had no information about them, or made payments through them before. Right after I hung up, my mom calls me saying that a company is calling my uncle asking for myself, and my husband. The number that called my uncle was ( XXXX ) XXXX. I found this very rude, since I do not want any of my family members receiving calls about my business! I don't even have my uncles numbers, so Im wondering how did they have that information? Also my uncle said they mentioned my husband in the phone call, and I have never given any information about my husband in any paperwork for my debt nor my uncles. I went online to check on XXXX since that is where I make my payments, and it says I have no payments due as they are extended until XXXX of 2020, BUT this company continues to call me while I am at work. Yesterday, XX/XX/2020 they continued to call my uncle asking for my information, as well as disclosing I have a debt with my student loans. That is information I don't share with anyone, not even my parents so I don't think they should be sharing it with people who I have very little connection too. I am tired of receiving these call

I was first contacted by General Revenue Corporation ( GRC ) on or around XX/XX/XXXX regarding an alleged debt. The debt allegedly originated as an account with XXXX XXXX University. The amount owed on this alleged debt was {$4800.00} and was assigned file number XXXX. I was never contacted by XXXX XXXX University regarding this alleged debt and never agreed to any type of arrangement with the University. I was once a student with XXXX XXXX University and all of my student loans are current with the United States Department of Education. I ended my enrollment with the University in XX/XX/XXXX. I responded to GRC via multiple certified letters that I was unaware of the alleged debt and its origins and I sought validation of the alleged debt. GRC responded to my correspondence with a list of charges that allegedly came from the University. GRC has not yet provided any contract between me and the University. GRC has refused or been unable to provide any documentation that will legally validate the alleged debt. The University has placed the same account with a different collection agency in the past, XXXX XXXX. The account was investigated and removed from all credit bureaus when XXXX XXXX was unable to validate the debt. GRC has since reported this account to multiple credit reporting agencies without proper validation or proof of validation. The initial amount of the alleged debt is different than the amount of the debt in the alleged validation letter that I received. The unfair reporting of this alleged debt has caused damages to my credit report and my reputation as a consumer and as a professional. GRC has been misleading and have not been willing to validate this alleged debt prior to taking adverse action against me.

I received calls and letters from General Revenue Corporation about a debt they claimed i owed. They threatened me that if i dont pay they will mess up my credit and sue me. They messed up my credit score. I was very afraid and started making some payments. After paying over {$1000.00} to the collection agency even without them providing verification, they claimed that all the money i have paid were just applied towards their collection fee and not the so-called debt. I sent out a request for debt validation and verification ( Original contract signed with creditor with my signature ). They refused and failed to provide the required verification that meets the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They started shout and yelling at me over the phone and told me that they will not provide any more verification of the debt ( Original contract signed with creditor with my signature ). Instead they sent me a statement list all the previous payments I had made on the debt. I am requesting that they delete this unverified account off of my credit report or provide me the Original contract signed with creditor with my signature that shows that their claim that I am the person who owes the debt. They have been violating my Rights and Defamed my Character for over 3 years. My credit score has suffered terribly as a result. I have been denied apartments and credit as a result of their bullying and fear tactics and refusal to do what is lawful and to stop this illegal act against me. I am filing this complaint as another opportunity for them to do what is right and I am also filing this request as proof that i will use when i sue them according to the FDCPA.

General Revenue sent out a collection letter XX/XX/2020. In this letter it states " Unless you notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of this debt or any portion thereof, this office will assume this debt is valid. If you notify this office in writing within 30 days from receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of this debt or any portion thereof, this office will obtain verification of the debt or obtain a copy of a judgement and mail you a copy of such judgement or verification. Upon your written request within 30 days after receiving this notice, this office will provide you with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor. General Revenue place this collection account on my credit report XX/XX/XXXXbefore validation was done, or even notifying me that there even was a collection account. I never received a letter from them until XX/XX/2020 and they mailed it out XX/XX/2020. 3 days after placing it on my credit report. I received this letter XX/XX/2020 and sent out a Request for Validation letter XX/XX/2020. This is not my account and has now dropped my credit score because this fraudulent account was placed on my credit report and the collection agency violated my 609 rights to have accurate information placed on my credit and gave false information and tactics in their letter of stating that sending written notice within 30 days to dispute the validity and placed this collection account on my credit before I was even notified that there was a collection account.

My credit report continues to show a collection account for a company called General Revenue. The amount is {$790.00}. I have paid {$840.00} for the exact same thing through XXXX XXXX to pay off the creditor XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have all receipts that I have paid this off through XXXX XXXX. In XX/XX/2021, I spoke to XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX and she said XXXX XXXX XXXX would be able to take small balance payments to get this paid off. That is what I started to do, once I realized the account was in collections. I paid this off in XX/XX/2021. Around XX/XX/XXXX I spoke to a XXXX at General Revenue XXXX when I received a statement saying I owed money to XXXX XXXX XXXX. and she gave me the information to dispute the statement that I received saying we owed the exact same thing through XXXX XXXX XXXX, although it is paid off. I disputed this through General Revenue on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX and submitted all receipts. On XX/XX/2021, I called XXXX XXXX XXXX and spoke to XXXX. She said the account is paid in full through XXXX XXXX XXXX On XX/XX/2021 at XXXX I called Student Account Services at XXXX XXXX XXXX and the collections department said we are paid off. The collections account continues to pop up on my credit report although I have told General Revenue it was paid off and disputed it through the credit reporting companies. I don't know if they're trying to scam us, but the information is inaccurate. I have all of the payments that show this amount has been paid off, plus extra charges.

On Wednesday XX/XX/2021, I received a call from General Revenue Corporation. They asked me to verify personal information without giving me any information, to which I declined due to the increased phishing and scam attempts due to COVID. Without verification they could not speak to me. That was the end of that conversation. A couple of hours later, I received a call from a previous boss that general revenue corporation had contacted him attempting to get information about me. The representative went as far as insinuating he is my husband and proceeded to tell him that if he could confirm that she would discuss the matter with him. This made him extremely uncomfortable. Not only that, they contacted his mother. I understand harassing me, but my bosss mother? They left a voicemail for her leaving a reference number for her to call. I called them and asked them to cease all contact, because what they were doing was not legal. The representative denied the allegations and did not care that I asked them to the discontinue their attempts to contact third parties. I told the representative at general revenue Corp that I would be taking care of the matter ( they insisted I consolidate my student loans, which I have completed ). However, even after speaking to them they proceeded to call others, this time my brother and mother, and also called my workplace. I have been beyond patient with them, but general revenue Corp has crossed so many lines. Please help

I should not be contacted for this debt because it was incurred when I was an employee for XXXX. The classes were supposed to be paid for by XXXX through the employer. Ive told this company that before and they continue to harass me and call looking for money. They havent provided me with anything from XXXX to say that they refused to pay the amount so as it stands I dont see why Im being contacted for the funds. On top of that, XXXX University was neglectful in providing me with timely information which they admitted especially when it came to processing my claim to them because during the time of my Tuition Credit Waiver. I had a death in the family which I informed them ( sent them a copy of the death certificate ) of and was unable to complete the course due to mental stress. They took their time getting back to me and I dont recall being aware of owing any funds. I need proof sent to me that I owe General Revenue Corporation these funds. XXXX never contacted me and may have written off this debt. They were the original creditor so the money is not going to them. I dont owe General Revenue Corporation and would like them to remove the debt they are trying to collect on me until they have sent proof in the form of a debt verification letter that they are legally entitled to speak to me regarding this debt. I am a victim of identity theft and I need documented proof regarding this debt.

I received a letter from General Revenue Corp. dated XX/XX/2023 and received on XX/XX/23 ; Acct # XXXX regarding an alleged debt of {$4700.00} I assume it's for tuition bills. XXXX University is named in the letter as a creditor and charged me erroneously for classes when they knew the charges were excessive and not required due to providing students with misguided information and knowingly advising students about false degree completion times. And, I haven't taken any of those classes associated with the charges and or timelines. This situation was specific to XXXX students and the school was identified in several lawsuits, of which some are settled and some ongoing. The lawsuits speak to this very situation, where students were taken advantage of with erroneous tuition charges and were charged due to ongoing timelines for degree completion, when in fact students were led to believe that they would obtain their degrees sooner based on fraudulent advertising ( " Bait and Switch technique '' ) I can't personally divulge any particulars of those suits due to confidentiality. However, XXXX 's alleged and fraudulent charges indicated in the General Revenue Corp letter, are within the timelines for the lawsuits. The tuition amounts XXXX alleges I owe, do not match with any XXXX classes taken and are fraudulent based on this explanation in this writing.

I regularly check my credit reports and noticed that XXXX is now reporting a debt that is over 15 years old with the last activity on the account in XXXX. I previously had to dispute this debt when the previous collection agency tried to add it to my credit reports in XXXX, when it was already over nine years past the credit reporting limit. A new collection agency, General Revenue Corporation, apparently purchased the account and is illegally trying to " re-age '' the debt, stating that it is four months old, rather than more than 15 years old. No date of last payment, date of last activity, or other pertinent information is included-just an amount and the illegally " re-aged '' date of four months ago, even though the account is older than 15 years ( well over the 7.5-year credit reporting limit ). I'm not sure how or why XXXX allowed this, but I am submitting this complaint in order to get them to immediately remove this illegally re-aged account. I am currently in the process of applying for a mortgage and my XXXX credit report shows a soft inquiry from General Revenue Corporation within the last month. I'm assuming they are trying to re-age the debt in hopes that I am not familiar with the laws and using this scare tactic to try to force payment of an illegally re-aged account.

Other family member, whom I do not reside with, an employer, who is no longer my employer and myself are getting calls constantly from General Revenue about my student loans. They don't ever send anything to in writing, just phone calls/voicemails. They claim they are a collection agency and are trying to collect a debt. I have filed for a forbearance and was approved back in XXXX well before the pandemic hit. Then the pandemic happened and that put a hold on all student loan payments. So I have the forbearance and student loan freeze both still intact yet General Revenue won't stop calling and harassing that I owe them and must make payments. They even insinuated that they could take legal action if I don't pay. They go as far as calling multiple times within a 24 hour period on my personal cell phone. My ex employer has repeatedly told them I don't work there and yet this company still calls her. All of my students loans show active, in good standing and on time. It does not show anything about being in collections. I also have never received any correspondence from the loan servicing company about sending my account to collections. They have only sent ways to help reduce my payments or offer relief once the freeze is lifted in XX/XX/XXXX. I need this harassment to stop!!!

On XX/XX/2021 I received many phone calls to my cell phone from The General Revenue Corp. I was finally able to answer one call and reached XXXX ( I am not sure if that is the correct spelling of her name ) ; however, she is a collector and I advised her that my phone number ( XXXX ) had been dialed two times to her and I speaking and that it was a violation of the FDCPA. I advised that the times that I was called were XXXX, XXXX, and then at the time that I was speaking with her which was at XXXX. She became combative and defensive and made me seem as if I was a liar. I advised that I would be able to supply proof of it and requested to speak with a supervisor. I was transferred to a senior representative that has manager capabilities. He did not provide his name when asked but he did provide the complaint numbers of XXXX and also XXXX. I was able to leave a message on both. Neither the senior representative or the initial person ( XXXX ) verified my information either. I advised to place my number on the XXXX ( do not call ) list. I left a message at the complaint numbers but there has not been any response on this. I felt as if I was being harassed because the calls were coming in constantly from this agency while I was at and it affected my ability to be productive.

As a student at XXXX under the GI Bill accrual of fees are paid quarterly. I received notification from General Revenue Corp first week of XXXX in regards to the accrued XXXX fees. I stated to them the account was paid in full on XX/XX/2020. He stated he did not receive notification of any payment, but would verify it. I thought nothing of it because I had the paid invoice in my email as well it being updated on the XXXX site. I received a notification from XXXX that there is a negative impacting report posted on XX/XX/XXXX. The negative report was for collection from General Revenue Corp on behalf of XXXX. My credit was decreased significantly from this false report. When I called them first and stated my issue I was told it is not their problem and they only receive information from their customers monthly and was unable to update the credit reporting until XXXX. I stated again that the account has been paid and has a XXXX balance since XXXX XX/XX/2020. The rep restated her comments. I called again after my credit dispute returned with no change. The rep stated they made a mistake, but she did it know how to correct it. A manager got involved, but made no guarantees on it being removed from my credit report anytime soon.

I was notified by General revenue of a debt allegedly owed by myself to XXXX XXXX University. The debt is allegedly derived from a period where I was not a student at the school and was not enrolled in the school. I was never contacted by XXXX XXXX University regarding this alleged debt and was never offered the opportunity to dispute this debt directly with the school. I am currently enrolled in school and all of my student loans are in deferment status with the United States Department of Education. I explained to General Revenue in two separate correspondence letters that I was unaware of this debt and its origins. I received the most recent correspondence from General Revenue On or about XX/XX/XXXX and the letter stated that the account would be reported to the credit bureau if I failed to pay the debt or make payment arrangements. The validation provided by General Revenue was a form void of any signatures or any identifying markings from me. I am still unaware of the origin of this debt and. The form allegedly validating this debt was allegedly for the summer of XXXX. I am completely oblivious of this alleged debt and was first contacted about this alleged debt by General Revenue

I did not provide this debt collector with direct consent that they could contact me via mail or any other communication which is required pursuant to 15 USC 1692c ( a ). On the communication sent via mail from this company pursuant to 15 USC 1692g ( 4 ) and 15 USC 1692g ( 3 ) I did not receive notice that I have the right to dispute this debt. This company also seems to have committed identity theft due to myself never doing business with them or giving them my location information about this matter and also purchasing my information concerning me as a consumer in order to collect on a debt which according to 15 USC 1692e ( 10 ) is also a violation. Having to deal with this has literally caused me mental anguish and stress. I have attached documentation that I have sent to this company concerning this matter certified mail # XXXX

This is my third or fourth time requesting debt validation from General Revenue Services. Recently on XX/XX/19 they provided me with a generic bill ledger that does not clarify the detail summary for the collection amount of {$540.00}. I have requested and General Revenue Services has failed to deliver the proper documents need to prove validity for {$540.00} is owed to them or XXXX XXXX University from me. Please provide specific details or billing invoices on what I am being billed for in the amount {$990.00} + {$150.00} = {$450.00}. After that please provide a billing summary for the {$540.00} that you are actually collecting on an have reported to my credit report. There are nothing but numbers on the ledger and a general enrollment notice but NO DETAILS on these charges. I am requesting that this item be removed from your collection office until these further details can be provided. It has been beyond 30 days required by law for General Revenue Services to provide debt verification and validation of the items I have requested. I have already submitted an Estoppel Letter this is my second notice

To Whom it May concern, I have reviewed my credit reports reflecting an account with General Revenue Corp. However, I was uninformed of this account. I was never provided any written documentation validating this debt was mine nor was there anything sent in the mail such as a statement, etc. Not to mention, when reviewing this file on my credit report it is showing incorrectly. This account is a collection that is showing opened and this is a way to continue to re-age this false account in order to impact me negatively. According to the FCRA Section 6. 23.5A it states that the date of delinquency determines how long the debt can be reported on a consumer credit report, they are trying to damage me long term so it will never fall off my report. This a violation of my rights and as mentioned in my dispute directly to them I will be forced to seek legal action and in return I will request up to {$1000.00} in damages. They have withheld notices from me and I ask this company to cease all communication and reporting on my credit since they have violated my legal rights.

This company is using predatory collection tactics in order to have me repay them on a debt, that I am paying to the original creditor. I was contacted by phone from this company in XXXX of 2021. They informed me that they were attempting to collect a debt that they purchased from XXXX XXXX University. I informed the representative that I was making payments directly to XXXX XXXX University, and I would not send any payments to them. They told me that they would review the account with the original creditor and update me on the situation. Without any previous notice, on XX/XX/2021, The company GENERAL REVENUE CORP, placed this derogatory collection account on my consumer credit report. They have falsified information about the account stating that the account was placed in collections on XX/XX/2021. I have proof that the original creditor accepted two payments from me between XXXX XXXX and XX/XX/2021. GENERAL REVENUE CORP, has violated my Consumer Rights and damaged my Credit Report with these predatory tactics. I demand the immediate removal of this false account.

I owe money to the university of XXXX. I was contacted by general revenue corporation in XXXX to collect on this debt. I didnt know I had the right to dispute it. I did ask for an itemized invoice of the debt and received one. We made a payment arrangement plan and I was told the longest I could extend the payments was 7 months which seemed weird to me. They told me originally it would need to be paid all at once, then in 3 months, until I kept saying I couldnt afford that and got it pushed back to 7 months with weekly payments of {$78.00}. I have been paying this debt since that phone call In mid XXXX. Now, due to the coronavurus, my hours have been cut at work and I can no longer afford the extra $ 300+ A month. I have contacted the company numerous times through calling the number they gave me, the number on their website, and submitting multiple inquiries online through their website. Their office is currently closed and I cant get a hold of anyone about this and Im terrified Im going to be in more debt and wont be able to afford my other necessary bills.

I am a victim of fraud and identity theft. General Revenue Corporation first contacted me by letter dated XX/XX/2019. The letter falsely stated that I owed the XXXX XXXX XXXX a {$18000.00} debt. The {$18000.00} debt that General Revenue Corporation was hired by the XXXX XXXX XXXX to fraudulently attempt to collect is the result of fraud. I provided General Revenue Corporation with a copy of my FTC identity theft report supporting this fact on two separate occasions. Nevertheless both General Revenue and the university continue to attempt to collect this fraudulent debt. As an identity theft victim, I have asked the debt collector and the university to provide me with copies of all their records relating to this account, this debt, and the theft of my identity. To date, both have intentionally withheld and/or refused to provide response records. General Revenue Corporation is the second debt collection agency that the XXXX XXXX XXXX has retained to intentionally harass and oppress me about this {$18000.00} fraudulent debt.

On XXXX of 2021 I learned about a collection for a course that my previous employer suggested I pursued- I contacted General Revenue Corporation in order to satisfy the collection and dispute with university. I asked what did I needed to do to have that collection removed from my credit report. I was told by XXXX that in order to have it removed I must pay it in full or they can also accept a settlement. I chose not to do the settlement because the collection was affecting my credit. I paid it in full, and I am in the process of disputing the debt with the school. Today XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the collection company to request an update on why the collection has not been removed if payment was made in full on XX/XX/2021. I was now told that they would update the account but those collections dont get removed. I was lied to and provided incorrect and deceiving information in order for them To collect payment. I am requesting this collection is removed entirely from my credit report and they refuse to do so.

XXXX XXXX XXXX / Rep name : XXXX The above company called two family/friends ( that I know about ) trying to get a hold of a XXXX XXXX. That was my maiden name. However, I do not have any debt or student loan for that matter. I verified with them with my full name and last 4 of my social security number and address. I asked who else they called trying to get a hold of me and they refused to tell me. I should have EVERY right to know who they contacted trying to get a hold of me. This is outright embarrassing and not okay to have my family and friend call me telling me a debt collector was looking for me! I work very hard to keep my credit clean. This company did not do their due diligence on the person they were trying to reach. It was clearly not me. A simple search would have told them that. I want to report their practices and I want to know who else they called on my behalf since they refused to tell me. I consider this harassment. Especially since the person they were looking for was clearly not me!

General Revenue Corporation has been contacting me relentlessly since XXXX of 2020. I have told them to stop contacting me 8 times, but I still receive harassing calls asking for my employers information and asking for my social security number. The last call that I had with XXXX from General Revenue Corporation, he told me the last 4 digits of my social security number and my full name before he confirmed my identity on the phone. I told him that I had a serious problem with him just blurting out my name and social before confirming the identity of the person on the phone. This company is also not the original debt collector for this debt that I do not owe. The previous debt collector did not close my account like they should have, instead they passed the debt around to another company. I've been disputing this debt for over 5 years now and I feel that General Revenue Corporation has overstepped their rights by harassing me with calls and by harassing me with my personal information.

according to my credit report, General Revenue Corporation ( GRC ) has stated on my credit report through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, that I settled this debt for a lesser amount. That is not " TRUE ''. This company has engaged in deceptive practices. XXXX XXXX University told me what was due based on my student loan. The bill was paid. see attached. Now GRC wants to put on my credit report that I settled this debt for a lesser amount. GRC can not think that reporting misinformation about a consumer credit report, is with the Guide Lines of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Fair Credit Reporting Act, requires that all information must be accurate. It is my understanding from XXXX XXXX that they have tried to reach out to GRC but no reply. See Attached Lastly, GRC has failed to mention that I responded back to them within their 30-day time frame back in XXXX, letting them know that it was not a valid debt, that they had received. I never heard anything from them.

On XX/XX/2022 I was notified by General Revenue Corporation that they are now trying to collect an outstanding balance from XXXX XXXX University from Fall term 2022 in the amount of {$1300.00}. I received and attempt to collect a debt from General Revenue Corporation and responded within the 30 days for request of documents to include a signed agreement that validates this debt was owed by me. In return on XX/XX/2021, I received a copy of an invoice with an additional request I provide them with more information. Then I received another attempt to collect letter, XXXX XXXX, 2021 requesting notification within 30 days that I dispute. Something is not right as I already did this! I am not obligated for this debt, and have requested ALL collection activity cease and if reported to reflect the debt is disputed. to date it is not flagged disputed, only a comment that states consumer disputes account information. Currently the the collection activity has continued, the credit reports do not reflect disputed and the posting date for the collection account shows XXXX.2021 to credit reports which pre-dates the initial attempt to collect a debt correspondence.

In response to the collection placed against my credit profile. The information documented on behalf of this collection is incorrect, inaccurate and insufficient. I have no recollection of this debt owed and has been placed on my credit file and in my name. I understand that collection companies are generally not excited about deleting a collection account. However, I have been informed that according to FCRA ( Federal Credit Reporting Act ) no creditor is required ever to report a debt, nor are they required to continue to report it for any set amount of time, reporting to the bureaus is purely elective on the creditors part. I would simply like for Collection Company to have this one account removed immediately from my credit reports ASAP to ensure my credit profile will reflect accurate and correct information. I understand you all are extremely busy so I appreciate your assistance in this urgent matter. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX

The company General Revenue Corp is inaccurately reporting `a balance/collection of {$3500.00} under my name that is not accurate! I never received any funds from them and they in fact received money from the government, in which they did not return to them after receiving them! I have contacted this company over and over again and even sent them police reports and other supporting documents and requested this be taken off of my credit report and my name. They still choose to report this inaccurate account on my credit report, which is affecting my life! This needs to be deleted from my name and my credit profile immediately. This is causing me stress and other issues. General Revenue Corp said that they received this information from XXXX XXXX XXXX and just reported it without any verification or anything! I never signed any documents with neither institution!

I do not have a contract with this company. I requested a debt validation on XX/XX/2020 and the company provided me with some Bill. I did not receive any type of mail before my credit report was tarnished! Thats against my rights! As I look over the bill, ( no contract between the company and myself ) I also noticed that this company added a collection fee of {$390.00}. I have NEVER heard of a company being within legal rights to change a fee to another amount just to add their fee to it!! I was violated in many ways by this company and Im embarrassed that I have to submit such a complaint on my behalf. According to the FCRA, I was supposed to receive proper paperwork in the mail first to give me a chance to figure things out. I was never sent anything because I do not have a contract with this company! This company has failed me and stripped me of that right.

I spoke with the company General Revenue Corporation in XXXX of 2018 and they advised me that if I paid off my debt in full they would remove the mark from my credit score. Now 2 years later I apply for a mortgage and discover the collection is still listed on my credit report. I attempted to call the company to give them a chance to remove it assuming it was a mistake, and they inform me its company policy for them to never remove from a credit report. This contradicts the deal that we agreed on when I originally agreed to make the payment. The manager acknowledged they do have the ability to remove, but due to their company policy they will not do so. I would caution all those who are being contacted by General Revenue Corporation to be wary of payments back to the company as they will tell you they will remove from your credit report, but will not do it.

Good Morning ; Hi, i actually just finished talking to XXXX at General Revenue Corporation, a debt collector for XXXX XXXX XXXX. They said that they no longer have the debt and they are in the process of removing them from my credit report. She said that by now their company GRC should've already been DELETED from my credit report. However, it's still reporting on my 2 major credit bureaus, XXXX and XXXX. I been trying to resolve this unknown debt from my credit for over 6 months now, and no one has sent any responses. Finally, i got hold of them on the phone today and she said that she will escalate my complaints so it can be removed soon from my Credit report or profile. Can you please look into this? This process shouldn't take more than 30 days to resolve, but mine has taken more than 6 months and no responses.

Now 2 more weeks have passed now it says I have a missed payment and the collection is now back at {$600.00}. I tried calling over and over but was told agents were busy until I finally got through to hear someone say end call and hung up the phone on me which this happened multiple times and I grew more and more frustrated. I have a copy of the receipt they sent me where I paid for it but this company has been nothing but rude and disrespectful they whole time dealing with this stuff.

This company REFUSES to acknowledge that I have paid this debt IN FULL with the original creditor Florida XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/20 I paid {$260.00} then the company said I owed {$300.00} more ... so on XX/XX/20 I paid {$300.00} to XXXX through their online payment system. I have attached proof of payment and also proof that my account is showing a XXXX balance per XXXX payment system. I have tried to get this removed from my credit report twice and this company doesn't even look at the attached documents and proof and immediately says I still owe the {$300.00} even though it was paid on XX/XX/20. This has been PAID IN FULL and needs to be removed from my credit report as it is causing harm to my financial well being by continuing to show I owe it when I do not.

I was making monthly payments to XXXX. I received a letter in the mail from General Revenue Corporation and immediately began making payments. This is the same account, XXXXXXXX XXXX. Ive never missed a payment. The new account holder calls me weeks after receiving the letter in the mail and the rep said if I dont pay the entire balance by XX/XX/XXXX then she will report it to the credit bureaus. The letter has options to make payments towards it. She even pulled up my payment that I first made. I didnt know the account was being transferred so I immediately made a payment to remain in good standing. I have made 3 payments toward the account since receiving the first letter and now its been reported before XX/XX/XXXX and without accepting my payments.

Just received my XXXX dispute report number XXXX. General Revenue needs to provide how they verified to XXXX this account that was due to fraud and identity theft, if you never retrieved the XXXX police reports even though the police report numbers were given to you all yet you failed to request the documents from the local police department. How can you legally verify a debt to XXXX and XXXX XXXX as 100 % verified and accurate without retrieving the police report documents? Instead reporting back to the credit bureaus this debt is 100 % complete and accurate? You have failed to do a 100 % complete and accurate investigation and reported this debt anyways. I am seeking damages for these violations and gathering up all necessary documentation.

General Revenue Corporation insisted they supposedly " confirmed '' their information was " accurate '' and keep asking for things like canceled checks and school withdrawal information -- from a school I never attended! This is insanely stupid. They persisted in requesting this even after I shared my driver 's license and a copy of the police report I filed regarding identity theft..

XXXX this number is calling any person associated with me and leaving voice mails. They called every family member and now found out they called my work and tried to ask personal information about me to an associate. I have no idea who they are. I receive several scam calls from this number and other numbers leaving threats in voice mails saying I will be served and arrested for some collection. Some voice mails provide a social security number which isn't even mine. I get unwanted calls constantly and they should not be calling family members or work. I know it is illegal for anyone to say anything personal about me to anyone else rather that information is false, as well as constantly calling with threats.

I have tried to get in contact with this company multiple times and they refuse to update my balance to the correct amount. On my credit report it shows an unpaid balance of over {$1100.00} when actually all but {$570.00} has been paid. I have attached proof to this complaint and I expect my credit reports to all 3 be updated immediately with the correct amount owed.

This account is being shown as 3 separate collections. This is incorrect. The company intentionally split up the incorrect balances to cause irreparable damage to my credit. The initial balance was {$3700.00}. It now shows that initial collection + two additional collections which equal the 1st balance. Three negative delinquencies for one incorrectbalance.
