On XXXX XXXX, I attempted to get a new Drivers License from the Oregon DMV, as mine was damaged. The clerk informed me there was a hold from North Dakota DMV, stating my license was suspended in North Dakota. I called ND DMV and was told I had a judgement against me for {$1600.00} from XXXX, 2001. I paid the DMV reinstatement fee of {$50.00} and was told I needed to contact the Law Firm of Severin , Ringsak & Morrow at XXXX, as they were the only people that could remove the hold. I called the Law frim at XXXXXXXX XXXX PST on XXXX XXXX, and was told attorney XXXX XXXX XXXX handles this and would call me back. She called back on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX PST and took my name, birthdate, and ND license number and told be she would research and call me back. At XXXX XXXX PST on XX/XX/XXXX, she called back and informed me she would not remove the hold on my Drivers License unless I aped the {$1600.00}. I informed her there is a 10 year statute of limitations, with a maximum of 1 10 year extension, for a total of 20 years. This was over 21 years ago. She informed me again they would not remove it without me paying the collection. The judgment on the North Dakota State Court database shows the judgement as expired. The law firm is attempting to collect on an expired judgement by holding my drivers license.
