Settle It, Inc lawsuit mounted by CFPB. I am a victim of this companys fraudulent telemarketing and subsequent loan with their affiliate XXXX XXXX. In early XXXX, they intercepted a phone call I made to XXXX XXXX XXXX stating Lets fix your credit and if I adhered to their program, in XXXX months, they would pay off all my creditors and improve my credit. By the time I received a loan arranged by them with XXXX XXXX, it was approximately a year later and I was paying them now $ XXXX. The loan with XXXX XXXX was for {$9600.00} and my payments were $ XXXX. I have been paying them since XX/XX/XXXX. The interest rate is 24 % and compounded daily on the outstanding balance. So far I have paid them {$11000.00} and the loan doesnt mature until XX/XX/XXXX and so I will have paid them thousands more. I talked with XXXX XXXX re why was my loan with them and they just said you signed an agreement. I felt helpless. What is so outrageous, however, is my credit is destroyed. All the credit cards that were in the program just say CO meaning charged off with 0 balances due to nonpayment. This is very negative. There was no information that these accounts were apart of a debt settlement program. Settle It took my money and fraudulently assured me their program would improve my credit in the long run. I am devastated because credit is so important. I am so ashamed and this has affected the quality of my life. Im fearful of being duped and no longer trust anyone. I know I should have been more informed. What a terrible lesson. I might as well be in jail myself.

Settle it promised me 2017 to get my federal loans forgiven. They have been charging me monthly for working on getting my loans consolidated and forgiven. Until two weeks ago a new rep confessed they do not work to get my loans forgiven nor fixed. They just work to get my loans offset.
