Roquemore and Roquemore has been contacting my family members and former in-laws regarding a debt that has been verified as fraudulent and removed from my credit report already. A number of years ago, a distant relative established an identity utilizing my middle and last names with alternative residence, identification, and social security information. He was then able to secure credit, a residence and even an on-going vehicle loan. I have worked diligently to have these items removed over the years. As often as I have been able to, I have contacted creditors to have statements and accounts forwarded to me for legal purposes and to contest debts. There is a fraud affidavit affixed to my credit report, as well as other protections to prevent new accounts from being established. Now Roquemore & Roquemore is calling threatening my family members and demanding that the location of a vehicle be disclosed. I reiterate that this is not my account, I do not possess this vehicle and we have no contact with the family member that committed the fraud. The fraudulent social security number ends in XXXX, which is NOT my social security number. When I attempted to call and explain this, the representative presumed that I was lying and became livid and started screaming. I asked that they provide me an address where I could submit proof of this being a case of fraud, yet she threatened that continued calls to my family, landlords, employers and the like would continue if I did not provide the vehicle. I have promptly called an attorney and had them to draft a cease and desist order. They ( Roquemore & Roquemore ) have made no efforts to validate this debt, or it would become blatantly obvious that they do not have my true social security number or name. The original creditor ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) employed the same tactic of skip-tracing and attempted to add my full name and social security number to the account, which warranted the item being removed XXXX by the credit bureaus.

This morning ( XX/XX/XXXX ) at XXXX ( conveniently 30 minutes past the time debt collectors are allowed to call ). I did not answer the call as I thought it is probably just a spam call which I receive often. The number was ( XXXX ) XXXX After getting this call I was informed both of my grandparents ( only family members that live in the same state as me ) had both received a call from them on their mobile phone numbers. I was told they were asking about a car I used to own and she gave me their number. I called the number to be greeted by a woman named XXXX. XXXX claimed to be calling from " XXXX '' or " XXXX ''. It seems they used a name that is conveniently often misspelled. She told me that she was calling to locate the car I previously owned. I sold this car last XXXX. She told me the car is registered under my name, which is false. I sold the car over a year ago and the new owner got the car registered under his name and a bill of sale was filed. I bought this car cash without getting any loans through any banks so not sure why they'd call me. The call was all very confusing, she wouldn't tell me any details about why she was trying to locate the car or who hired her to locate the car. She told me to tell the person I sold the car to contact her. I reached out to the person I sold the car and he told me he had sold it again a few months ago. After looking up the number it came back to a website called " Roquemore | XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ''. Who specializes in debt collection and skip tracing. They also had multiple complaints from people for harassment and shady business practices. Sources say the XXXX has closed 13 complaints around Roquemore XXXX has listed 3 cases of civil litigation involving them as well as of XXXX. So I am very concerned as to how this lady was able to track down my close familys contact methods and contact them regarding me about a car I used to own. I did not even own the car for a full year.

I was contacted by the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX several times by a person identifying herself as XXXX XXXX, trying to get information. XXXX then called and harrased my XXXX+ year old parents telling them she wanted to help me which upset them because they thought something terrible had happened to me and caused my father to have health issues. Then XXXX called my work putting my job in jeopardy which eventually led to my termination. They also called my apartment complex and put me at risk for eviction and ruining my chances of employment with them as I had recently applied for a job with them. XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX destroyed any chance I had at making a living and then repossessed my car. They didn't give me any information such as where the car was taken or how I could settle the issue and get the car back. This should be regarded as harassment and should also be regarded as deffimation of character. I have also endured pain and suffering due to the loss of income and stress. I was only behind on 2 or 3 month 's of payments. I was then informed that the loan was discharged and settled with an insurance company. I received a letter saying that the loan was discharged and the account was closed. I had paid {$18000.00} for a used {$3000.00} car so I thought the loan was considered paid off and I was waiting for my title to arrive but it never did. When I tried to contact the Credit Union about it they told me it was up to the insurance company now but they couldn't give me any contact information. This type of collection practice and loan activity should be illegal and I expect full compensation for pain and suffering plus loss of income.

I received a voicemail today from a XXXX XXXX, who said she was calling from a firm XXXX and XXXX out of XXXX, TX. She called from XXXX trying to reach my husband XXXX XXXX. Her message stated : " I 'm reaching out to a family member regarding an insurance claim in my office involving a ... .a family member, uh, that has recently passed. If you could please, give me a call back directly at XXXX or toll free at XXXX. Thank you. '' I do not know what this is in reference to, nor do I plan to call back. I am appalled that someone would call and say that a family member has passed to get me to call back! The best I can find is that the company is XXXX. Reviewing feedback as best I can online ( which may or may be trusted ) says that this is a debt collection agency, they will do whatever they can for you to call back ( must be their effective methodology as touted on their website ), and that it has to do with a vehicle that may be potentially repossessed. We have no such vehicle, as we are current on both car loans. We have paid off our vehicles in the past, and had clear titles before trading them in. I 'm not sure who or what they need, but I will not be calling them back. Again, I am appalled that their methodology includes telling someone they are calling in regards to a family member who has passed away. My dad passed away recently, and it 's not a matter to be taken lightly. Just another example of how we ca n't trust those who call us.

A lady named XXXX called my mom ( unrelated to this issue ), and called myself at work. Their attempt to repossess a vehicle that is not theirs has been harassing and abusive to me as a consumer, pursuant 15 USC 1692d. Also they are in violation of 15 USC 1692e. They claim they are not a debt collector but pursuant 15 USC 1692a ( 6 ) states, The term debt collector means any person who uses any instrumentality of interstate commerce or the mails in any business the principal purpose of which is the collection of any debts, or who regularly collects or attempts to collect, directly or indirectly, debts owed or due or asserted to be owed or due another. The repossession/collection of the vehicle is a collection of debt. I have not given anyone permission to share and use my information in regard to this alleged debt. If anyone communicates with me or my family again, I will pursue with legal action. CEASE AND DESIST ALL FUTURE CALLS, MAIL, ETC PURSUANT 15 USC 1692C.

My mother, my sister, and I have received multiple calls on each of our mobile phones over the last few weeks from someone at " Roquemore & Roquemore ''. A female voice then leaves a message saying I need to call them back about an urgent issue related to a file they have on my father. The voicemail they leave indicates that they believe they are leaving a voicemail for my mother ( although my sister and I receive these calls too, and are addressed in the voicemail by our mother 's name ). They use both my mother 's and father 's full names. When I spoke to my parents about this, they had no idea why we would be receiving these messages. When I looked up Roquemore and Roquemore online, they seem to be debt collectors, however, I verified with my parents that they have no outstanding debt. These calls are therefore annoying, harassing, and unjustified. Additionally, I have received calls outside of the XXXX time frame. If they are actually trying to reach my father, I do not understand how they obtained his name, yet found the contact information for XXXX of his relatives ( me, my sister, and my mother ). It feels like some form of a privacy violation.

In XXXX, XXXX and XXXX the entire month everyday, XXXX XXXX XXXX contacted my family members telling them that they were a law firm and that they were calling about a XXXX and if they would n't tell them about my whereabouts that this could escalate to me doing jail time and possibly them getting in trouble for not giving them the information that they asked for. The person name was XXXX. He contacted people that I did n't know on XXXX with the same information and I have the messages showing that they told the person that they did not know me and they kept persisting that they did. Threatening them as well. This is illegal and they should not be collecting if they can not follow the laws and regulations. They overstepped their boundaries when they discussed my personal information with my friends, family, and XXXX friends. My mother is elderly and they had her all upset telling her that I would be arrested and face prison time. THIS IS XXXX. I will also seek legal ramifications because everyone that they contacted will testify against them. I 'm in the process of filing Bankruptcy and I 'm already XXXX and dXXXX. This is the last thing that I need.
