I am a XXXX servicemember and am eligible for an interest rate cap on my personal loan under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act ( SCRA ). I contacted Rocket Loans to inform them of my XXXX XXXX XXXX and supplied a copy of my military orders. I have been told that the lowered interest rate has been applied to my account ; however, Rocket Loans has refused to provide an explanation as to how they calculated the amount of interest due on my payments and how my monthly payment is being applied to my loan principal. My wife and I have asked multiple representatives at Rocket Loans to explain how much of our monthly payment is going toward principal and how much is going toward interest, as the amounts listed on our online portal seem inaccurate. Additionally, my SCRA benefits were backdated, so I've requested that Rocket Loans provide an explanation as to how they calculated my overpayments and how they were applied to my account. Multiple phone requests for follow-ups have gone unreturned. We were encouraged last week when the Rocket Loan Chief Compliance Officer contacted us to advise that he was handling the issue. However, all we received as a response was an email with a link to a personal loan repayment calculator. I'm simply trying to understand where my hard-earned money is going and Rocket Loans is refusing to answer my questions. The complaint was filed after we received an incomplete response the Chief Compliance officer from Rocket Loans. We were very specific about our questions and the information we wanted on our loan. We asked Rocket for that information multiple times and they would not respond. After speaking with the Chief Compliance officer, I was assured that he would address our concern regarding our question that are interest rate was not reduced correctly under SCRA. The CCO responded a couple of days later and sent us a link to an interest rate calculator stating that it made sense to through his initial review. We took his message to mean that he confirmed that the amount that we were being charged was correct. However, we knew better and the math did not add up. We pushed again and asked again that they review the file in detail to confirm that they were charging the correct interest rate of 6 %. It was only after we pressed the CCO again that Rocket Loans then determine that they were overcharging us interest during XXXX ' period of XXXX XXXX services. Then our repayment schedule was updated to reflect the lower interest. It took me multiple times of pressing Rocket loans, and a high level officer with the company before they would acknowledge that they were charging us incorrectly and not providing the benefits we are entitled to under SCRA.

I recently closed on a mortgage purchase with XXXX XXXX for a condo in Illinois. The closing was completed at the end of XXXX 2017 and the loan was sold to XXXX XXXX shortly after closing. XXXX XXXX is the current loan servicer and was the loan originator. Shortly after closing my loan, I began receiving multiple email notifications from XXXX XXXX to obtain a consolidation personal loan. Also, when I login online to view my mortgage account information, the XXXX XXXX promotion appeared. I later received a pre-approval confirmation and was approved for an XXXX consolidation loan with an auto-payment of approximately {$300.00} a month for a 3-year installment loan term. XXXX XXXX was then assessing a {$400.00} loan origination fee which I later discovered and the interest rate / apr range was 22-29 % ( also inflated from the original information provided ). My intention was to use these funds to consolidate various debts which ultimately would reduce my monthly payment obligation ( save me money ) and covert to a fixed installment repayment term. I received several communications from XXXX XXXX confirming my loan was approved and directing me to complete/sign my loan documents to fund the loan. I am including copies of these various communications as an attachment for reference. All of a sudden at the very end, I received an adverse action notice as was advised the loan funds would not be provided. Overall, the marketing information received from XXXX Loans was deceptive and provided clear direction the pre-approval, approval, and loan documents were good to go. Obviously this was a loan consolidation effort on my part which ultimately would have provided benefits in reducing my monthly payment obligation and would allow me to consolidate debt. I will admit the {$400.00} origination fee was not necessarily disclosed upfront at the time initial email communications began, but later in the process as the loan documents were getting prepared for signature I noticed this fee appear. Additionally, the initial interest rate/apr information provided was much lower ( less than 14 % ) than the later documentation conveyed of 22/29 % ( interest rate/apr ). The more I thought about what occurred, I realized how deceptive these communications were especially since I began receiving them shortly after closing on a recent mortgage loan with XXXX XXXX. I hope the supporting documentation will aid the CFPB in looking into this matter further. If this happened to me personally ; this is also occurring to other applicants which simply is n't right. Something is wrong here and an investigation should be conducted immediately.

I was advised in XXXX that I would became unemployed XX/XX/2020 due to COVID 19 workforce reduction. I paid up as many bills as I could but this payment due XX/XX/XXXX I had to delay. My unemployment was delayed considerably but still managed to borrow money to make the XXXX loan payment before going 30 days past due. Again my due date is the XXXX of each month. I logged in on line XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX to make my XXXX and XXXX payments. The option would not let me chose anything sooner than Wednesday XX/XX/2020 as a payment posting date. I called and spoke with XXXX he advised that their system is set up to take up to 3 business days to post a payment. He confirmed that yes I would see the ACH process, money from my account on XX/XX/XXXX ( still within the timeframe to avoid being 30 days late ) but it will take them 3 days to credit my account. I asked if he could just do the payment on the phone to avoid a negative affect on my credit and extra days of interest. I was told no. I asked if they were offering any relief due to COVID unemployment I was told they would send me information. I decided to make the XXXX payment only at that time even though I was paying before going 30+ days delinquent it still impacted my credit which I felt was unfair and decided to hold my XX/XX/XXXX payment in hopes that my unemployment would get approved before the grace period expired. So now on XX/XX/XXXX I made the XX/XX/XXXX payment and my account was due for XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX I still had not received any unemployment and called XXXX to make a payment, that I once again borrowed from a family member. It's the XXXX of XXXX and I am trying to make the XX/XX/XXXX payment, again I was told the payment wouldn't post until XX/XX/2020. I made the payment anyway confirmation # XXXX even though I knew 1 ) I was paying before being 30 days delinquent and 2 ) since it's simple interest they're accessing excess daily interest charges and late fees against myself and other consumers even when they pay on time. I am now receiving unemployment but it is not enough to cover basic bills but I am managing all my accounts as they're very willing to work with people. This account I have stopped paying as their payment processing delay causes people to show as late, even when they're not and they're charging extra interest/fees. On my account alone a few extra days of interest n their pockets may not seem like much but when you multiply that by the thousands of people they do this to monthly it is a considerable amount of money and seems that it would be unethical and unfair

i established the unsecured loan in XX/XX/2019 and had been making on time payments each month even with the covid out brake i began to look closer at the account because i noticed the principal balance was not moving none at all i even made some double up payments to the creditor i did get a couple extensions in the covid maybe 3 total along with applying for a loan modification because the principal wasn't becoming lower i went on line a couple months ago to see that my interest was 35 % online on the payment portal and for public records it was 9 % on credit karma and 24 % on another visual site so i continued to send them information that was requested which i have proof of that was to be for the approval for the loan modification well i finally read up on the whats happening and they qualify for the term predatory lenders the rules are that the interest on any account can not go past 10-15 % on top of the principal 35 % is trying to financially depress the customer and is a violation of law i have proof of every payment i made with them and totalling i should be 1/2 done with out the last 90 days and with i would be 52 % complete, if you where to check my credit right now the amount is still over XXXX dollars like i've never made one payment and its only been 3 payments since the last one i stopped because of covid and EDD couldn't keep up with issuing everyone 's benefits so they would be like 3-4 months behind i would sit here with no money and they where not willing to process my modification for lower interest so i'm going to begin the legal process to have this loan removed from my name or rocketloans can put my payments at 9 % interest like it says on public record and re allocate the proper amounts and remove those 3or 4 unlawful late remarks off my credit due to the fact that the federal government said while covid is happening creditors where not allowed to put bad marks on consumers credit yet they did it anyway so i need federal help resolving this dispute please help bccaise out here in california they are trying really hard to ruin me and my name and my credit and what ever else they can get there little hands on and that speaks for the community

Im a victim of identity theft and have had a fraudulent personal loan that has been opened in my name with your company Rocketloans. I didnt consent, authorize, apply, nor request for this fraudulent personal loan to be opened in my name. The address, phone number, email, and information on file does not belong to me, and non of the information regarding these accounts where verified that they belong to me. Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA SECTION 603 ) if an account is reporting inaccurately or if a consumer is a victim of identity theft the account in question is to be removed/deleted off of a consumers credit file. I have sent you a debt validation letter, ftc identity theft report, and police report showing that these accounts are deemed as fraud. In spite of that XXXX has failed to provide me with a proper validation of the debt. You have been notified that your actions are detrimental to me and that your company has violated ( including but not limited to ) the Consumer Credit Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Your bank knew or should have known that the actions taken against me and the information collected about me was inappropriate and damaging to me. Failed to use reasonable care in the course of business and failed to use even minimal procedures to ensure that I was not harmed. Communicated and are continuing to communicate incorrect and defamatory information to third parties including but not limited to : XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX. As a result of these blatantly reckless, wanton, and intentional acts, I have suffered and continue to suffer general and specific damages. I am also very upset at Rocketloans for intentional infliction of emotional distress and at the other diminishes of the quality of my life. This fraudulent account need to be removed out of my name, and off of my credit files immediately! Please take in consideration my concerns regarding this matter and I hope to hear from you in a timely manner.

I was a victim of cyber fraud starting XX/XX/XXXX. Criminals hacked my checking and savings accounts and stole all assets. By the time I discovered what was going on, I immediately contacted my bank ( XXXX XXXX ), debit and credit cards and filed a case of fraud with all of them. Accounts were frozen and I was issued new account numbers, checks, and cards. Also reported fraud to credit reporting bureaus and blocked my information. Also reported fraud to the XXXX Police Dept, FTC, and XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. When I discovered the damage I noticed that the fraudsters applied for loans to add to my checking account I'm sure to replenish the money in my checking account in an effort to steal even more, they applied for loans with Rocket Loans, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX. The latter two companies denied the loans after doing due diligence by making sure I applied for the loans which I DID NOT. Rocket Loans, the loan company about which I am filing this complaint, did not do the required due diligence. They notified me that " a one-time payment of {$7000.00} was authorized ( NOT BY ME ) on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I was stuck with paying off this loan as I don't have the resources to hire a lawyer to fight this corrupt loan company and did not want to risk further ruining my formerly very high credit score. I paid the amount in full with a check which I mailed on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I would like my money back since this company granted this loan without my authorization. They are responsible for dumping this money into my checking account and charging high interest rates to be paid for this unauthorized loan. However, I've had little help from the bank and the reporting agencies mainly because I had little information on the individuals that did this to me. At the very least I want this company publicly reported so that others will be aware of their unlawful, predatory practices against vulnerable and unsuspecting people.

I was working with Rocket Mortgage to get a cash our refi to payoff some credit card debt. My credit score wasn't high enough even though I pay all my bills on time. They said that since some credit cards are at or near the limit my score was too low. They referred me to someone that was supposed to help me increase my score enough to continue with the refi. The said someone would call me to help. I received a call from XXXX XXXX. I thought he was with Rocket Mortgage, but he is with another company called XXXX XXXX XXXX. However his email is XXXX. He told me that if I applied for a loan with Rocket Loans and pay off two of my current loans, my score would increase enough to do the refi. The plan was then to payoff credit cards and the loan obtained by Rocket Mortgage. I was approved, obtained the loan, and paid the credit card and line of credit he suggested. However this did not increase my score at all. I was charged a fee of {$290.00} by Rocket Loans. I have a higher interest rate and higher payment than on the other two loans. So the only one that benefitted from the transaction was Rocket loans. The get the fee and the interest and I suspect XXXX XXXX will get some kind of incentive the referral for loan. This did not benefit me at all. In fact, I am in a worse financial position than I was before the transaction. I feel that Rocket Loans is pushing people to obtain loans from them just to generate revenue their company. It doesn't benefit the consumer at all. This should be further investigated to see how many they have promised an improved credit score when obtaining a loan from Rocket Loans and then this ends up not helping at all. It's just a revenue generating scheme.

Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau : On Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX in the afternoon, I contacted XXXX XXXX, a XXXX XXXX Company via phone. I spoke with XXXX XXXX specialist, XXXX in XXXX, Michigan. The purpose of my phone call was to make arrangements to change the due of my payments from the XXXX of the month to the last day of the month. There was a two fold reason for this, the first was that I get paid at the end of each month. And second, with changing the due date, I can avoid any late charges. During my conversation, I authorized XXXX to talk with my son, XXXX XXXX due to my XXXX. My conversation with XXXX became a three conversation. My son, XXXX XXXX, XXXX ( the XXXX XXXX Specialist ), and myself. XXXX XXXX Specialist, XXXX informed my son that there was NO WAY where XXXX XXXX can change the due dates to the payments. However, you ( I ) can make arrangements each month before the due date to delay payments. This way you ( I ) can avoid any late fees. I witness via hearing the conversation on the other phone line. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX to debit from my checking account {$110.00} ( Exhibit A - Bank Transaction Number of the XXXX XXXX Payment ). Two weeks later, I received an email from XXXX XXXX that they ( XXXX XXXX ) did not receive any payments from me ( Exhibit B - copy of the email from ( XXXX XXXX ).

Due to a third party credit repair agency mistakenly disputing the wrong information ( all done via computer and non-human error ) Rocketloans received an auto-letter of possible fraudulent information on my account. Instead of contacting me to clear up the very small issue which has happened before with a credit card and is very easily fixed they took it upon themselves to breach Debit and Note contracts to quickly try to set an unauthorized ACH withdrawal for the entire loan amount just days after issuance with no regard to the implications with myself and my bank. Unfortunately due to their unprofessional XXXX response to the matter they breached contracts and my bank has cleared up the issues and I have blocked them from all further contact. I will contact all legal and law enforcement authorities if any more contact or attempts to debit are made and they will be used against them in a court of law. Please use this example to show the public and issue correct consequences for RocketLoans actions with total disregard to my well being since they indirectly also had my bank account locked ( to which I could not even access money to eat ) which I cleared up on my own while they ignored all calls even after I sent immediate proof of all information needed to clear the mistake. This loan is now void.

Early XX/XX/2019. I responded to an opportunity to apply for a loan Rocket Loans, which is a sister company of XXXX XXXX, my mortgage company. Turned out Rocket loans requires access into a persons bank accounts as part of the loan approval process, which was for {$8000.00}. I am a XXXX. They told me this practice is safe and is approved by the XXXX XXXX XXXX and to trust them while they are in my bank account. Against my better judgment, I got on my computer with them on the phone and helped them access my bank account. I was also asked to click on auto payments while I was in there. There was a hitch, however, I also send part of my salary to another bank, and the Rocket loan program could not do two banks, so instead, they set up the program to let me attach two weeks of pay stubs, which I did. Two days later, they said, they fixed the program so it can also access my other bank if I let them in.. I was then told it was due to anti-money laundering regulations or something.. I had enough. It all sounds fishy. This is a VERY intrusive process, and it made me feel like I was being XXXX. Even my bank had warned me not to do it but I really wanted the loan. I guess that is just one loan company but every creditor will want to do this if they can unless someone steps up and protects us, consumers.

On XX/XX/19 I received an email Rocket Loans informing me that I have " Exclusive Offers. '' Shortly after submitting my application on the company 's website I received a response stating I was denied the loan. on XX/XX/19 I replied to the email requesting an explanation as to why I keep receiving offers to apply for the loan. I received a response from Rocket Loans Support stating the company uses an automated system and their decisions are based on credit reports and my income. I responded to that email by pointing out that the company unscrupulously soliciting business by misleading me, and I'm sure other consumers, into believing that I was qualified for a loan. On XX/XX/19 I received an email from XXXX XXXX, VP, Sales, informing me at all of the appropriate disclosures are at the bottom of the original email. As you can see in the attachment, the company clearly highlights the suggestion that one sees their respective offers before reviewing any disclosures. On XX/XX/19 I received two more offers from Rocket Loans, only a few hours apart. Clearly Mr. XXXX ' response is disingenuous.

On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email from Rocket Loans advising me that it was the last day to make my payment before my account would receive negative marks on my credit report. I rushed to log in and scheduled the payment which was not drafted until XX/XX/XXXX. Last week I received an alert from my credit monitoring service that my credit score dropped XXXX points due to the negative reporting from Rocket Loans. I've called and escalated this situation up to what they call their leadership team and have been unable to receive any kind of solution. They claim the email is automated, but that is very misleading to write an email that states if I don't make the payment on that date then I will receive negative credit reporting. I've spoken to over 3 people and they all refuse to assist me with this matter, it is not fair to me that I receive these negative markings due to their lack of communication. I would like someone to research this matter, as this is against Fair Credit Reporting laws.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S. Code 1681 ) says ( 1 ) The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. So whenever there is a violation under the FCRA, it impairs the efficiency of the banking system. This is a violation of my privacy with my consumer report, since I control what is listed and what is not. In the event that any accounts are reported without my written consent, that is considered identity theft. This is a violation of both 15 U.S. Code 1681b ( 2 ) and 15 U.S. Code 1681c-2. This leads way to civil liability against the credit reporting agency for negligent and willful noncompliance under 15 U.S. Code 1681n, which allows for {$1000.00} per violation, for account listed without my expressed written consent.
