I received XXXX phone calls yesterday from a supposed " litigation firm '' threatening me with check garnishment. I hung up on the first call because this supposed " litigation specialist '' did NOT read the debt collecting disclosure " I need to let you know that this is an attempt to collect, and any information will be used to collect on this debt .... '' etc. They called me back immediately with the same nonsense- talking over me, not listening to me when I told them that they are required to show me proof of this debt, that I wanted a letter and statement with my account number delivered by certified mail, etc. The first call was at XXXX XXXX and lasted 4 minutes ; the XXXX call came at XXXX XXXX and lasted for 5 minutes. These people will absolutely edit or shorten recorded calls to prove that they were n't making threats and were n't being unprofessional. If they want anyone to listen to their calls to prove they 're not acting like lunatics, please pay attention the duration of the phone calls. I asked XXXX the " litigation specialist/debt collector '' and the supervisor for specific information, including the account number of the debt they 're saying I owe, the breakdown of the balance, the name of their company, where they 're located, their website address. ( The first caller also told me that it 's not a debt collection agency and that the debt was getting ready for garnishment. The debt they 're saying I owe is $ 185'ish ). Re : the website. The man first said that their website was under construction ; I asked to see it anyway. He began threatening me and taunting me with garnishment, asking me why I was arguing over them not having a website and named off people that I have listed as references in the past. I mean, come on- anyone can google names of people and see who they 're connected to online, and the ages/cities, etc., of these people ). I had asked for a supervisor after I could n't get a legit physical address or website. He then transferred me to someone equally ridiculous. The supervisor gave me this website below : http : //apirecoverysolutions.com/ As you 'll see, it 's a XXXX website. I 'm thinking that any litigation firm that wants to be taken seriously will pay for a website NOT powered by XXXX. If you XXXX API Recovery Solutions, you 'll see a litany of ripoff reports/scam alerts. They said on the phone they are called XXXX, XXXX and XXXX, but the website does n't list these names at all. I would n't give a dime to these people, even if this debt was sent to them by the payday loan provider ( which I honestly doubt is legit because payday loans- I do n't do them anymore- are debited from your checking account through your debit card number by the due date- I can not stop it. ) I know that it 's on them to provide valid, official and detailed proof of the debt, and they refuse to do that. They offered me a letter to my email address and I declined. I told them it needed to be certified mailed to my physical address. I called them TODAY to get a physical address and some names ; the woman who answered would n't give me her name, but when I asked what the API in the business name stands for, she said " XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. '' I told her that I 've been told XXXX, not XXXX. She then transferred me to the administrative assistant. This XXXX began speaking over me and would n't let me talk at all. The phone number on their website is XXXX. They 've also called me from XXXX. When you call the XXXX number, nobody ever answers and there is no greeting with the business name. I got someone on the phone today at the XXXX number above. The physical address I was given is this : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX NY XXXX These people have my personal information ( the XXXX told me this ) I 'm concerned and am going to be contacting the credit bureaus about this.

API Recovery Solutions is trying to collect a debt that may or may not be valid I was on the call with them XXXX times on XX/XX/2016 " that they are debt collector and are attempting to collect a debt and that any information obtained will be used for that purpose '' I received a message from XXXX ext XXXX. On XX/XX/2016 and she called me from XXXX. Indicating I needed to call her immediately before she proceeds with legal action she left no phone number or the name of her company. My brother, who lives in XXXX chatted me, via XXXX on the same day indicating she called him and called from a XXXX number trying to reach me as I left him as an emergency contact. XXXX provided a call back number XXXX ext. XXXX along with case number XXXX. XX/XX/2016, I called the number it does not identify a company and the ext XXXX goes nowhere. I XXXX the phone number and found a floral shop in XXXX XXXX called XXXX My brother chatted me again XX/XX/2016 indicating that XXXX called his mother in law, again calling from a local XXXX number, inquiring if we were related and wanted to confirm who our parents were. My daughter, who resides in XXXX, told me she received a call from XXXX whom called from an XXXX number with a similar message on the importance of return call. XX/XX/2016, XXXX called my father and she refused to inform my father where she was calling from and what the call was regarding. She provided him XXXX, XXXX XXXX NY XXXX, XXXX ext XXXX. XXXX could not advise what XXXX stood for or what the nature of their business was, other than it stands for nothing. She called my job from local number XXXX and indicated she was XXXX calling to verify my income and to call XXXX ext. XXXX I did return her call to see what this is regarding and she would not provide me anything until I verified my social security number, I said I would not verify anything until she identifies who she is, where she is calling from and what the nature of the call was. She told me that she was with API recovery solutions and my file was referred to her for legal action and that is all the information she would give me until I verify my birthdate and social security number. I stated this sounds like a scam I refused and she said I am trying to help you do the right thing. I refused and she hung up. A supervisor, XXXX called me and was concerned about the call and wanted to assist. He stated it is customary to verify the birthdate so that they are sure they are speaking to the correct person. I advised him that she also asked me to verify my social security number, and I am not required to verify anything when you call me. In addition I asked what was the rational for calling all of my friends and family and he stated this is standard debt collection practice. I stated that if this is valid debt he needs to send me a debt verification letter. He asked me to confirm my address, I told him that if this is a valid debt, you have the information you need already to contact me via us mail. I did call my local police on XX/XX/2016 and they stated there is nothing they can do as I did not pay them any money. Today I received a demand letter that indicates a different phone number to call and make payment arrangements.

I was contacted by my employer about a XXXX XXXX from XXXX contacted them about a loan I had with another company. My employer stated that XXXX XXXX was trying to reach me about a collections case they had against me and they need to get in contact with me to get in contact with her. I was also contacted from my wifes employer with the same information to call XXXX XXXX about an outstanding debt. I have been getting numerous calls on my home phone where when my answering machine would kick on the caller would hang up with no message left. On XXXX/XXXX/16 XXXX XXXX from XXXX left a message on my answering machine and left information about a case number and to contact her a soon as possible. I had returned a call to the number she left and a gentleman named XXXX ( no last name given ) said that XXXX XXXX was not available and that he knew all the information about the call. This was before I even told him what the call was about. He told me that there company received a complaint from XXXX that I had an outstanding balance with them which I partially disputed. While talking with him he told me I had to pay them {$2800.00} that day or I would be taken to court and sued for the money. I told him that I did not have that amount and he told me I could pay 50 % and had to come up with the other 50 % within 24 hrs. I told him I could not come up with that amount for the first 50 %. He told me that I would have to get the money from family or Friends or the case will be forwarded the next day. I told him I have not gotten any information on this from them and he said he would send me a letter to explain everything by certified mail and by e-mail. I got a so called explanation via e-mail but still nothing thru the postal service which he said he would sent. This has been XXXX week ago ( XXXX/XXXX/16 ) and my mail has not brought me anything from them as promised ( XXXX/XXXX/16 ). As stated I have been getting the phone calls with no messages left. When I do get a message is very unprofessional and degrading. Today I was called at XXXX from XXXX XXXX about not following up with her company which in fact I did on XXXX/XXXX/16 when I talked to the XXXX XXXX. I answered the phone and told her that I have not received the information requested ( certified letter ) and to cease calling my home phone. I checked out XXXX with the XXXX and found out that they XXXX has a F rating with them and also was informed by the XXXX to not pay XXXX anything. I have been getting phone calls from XXXXI with different numbers showing up on my caller ID with no company name attached. I found out who they were by reverse number checks. The number that left a message by XXXX XXXX was a XXXX cell phone but the company is located XXXX. They call XXXX4 times a day and leave no return call including from the XXXX number.

I received calls from the same person at both XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX stating that a friend of mine has financial fraud action pending against her, and she left my number as a reference. After the XXXX message, I called my friend and left her a message repeating the charges and phone number. Then I called the above number and left a message stating that I called my friend and gave her the information ... I stated my full name and personal cell phone number and commanded that she do not call my number again. A few days later, I received a message from my friend stating she called the number and made arrangements to pick up the payments. However, I received another call afterwards from the XXXX number asking directly for my friend by name claiming that my friend returned her call from my number. Yet when I tried to tell this person she did not call from my number, she insisted that she did ... this harasser threatened every time that she called that she was going to send the allegations forward ... I told her to send it forward and that I contacted my friend and gave her the information but I was not giving her number ; now it 's between the XXXX of them and if she calls my number again, I was going to report her for harassment. Yet today, this same person called again asking to speak to my friend by name. When I tried to tell her that my friend called her from a different number, she claimed I did n't know what I was talking about and again, threatened to send the allegations forward. Throughout all of this, my friend insists that she spoke to someone and made arrangements to pay. I just spoke to her again today. I 've had enough of this person harassing me personally for a debt I do not owe. There were somewhere between 10 to 15 calls this month alone. I pray that this complaint with stop the harassment calls.

A third party debt collection agen cy ( AP I Recovery Solutions ) not only called me on my cell phone, but also my parents ' house and cell phones, threatening to take legal action if I did not contact them and pay this debt. Since it was for a payday loan ( XXXX ) I had defaulted on a long time ago, I thought it might be real. I asked for a detailed letter of the debt and to take my parents off their calling list. I received an email with an attached letter from them on XXXX / XXXX / 2017 . It had my maiden name on the letter, not my current legal name. And, I had set up a payment arrangement with them to auto charge my debit card on the XX/XX/XXXX and the XX/XX/XXXX of every month. It was supposed to be {$420.00} for the firs t 2 payments and then {$100.00} for the rest of the payments until the debt was paid off. To authorize my payment, I had to sign a document giving them permission, which I never did. They had charged my card {$420.00} on XXXX / XXXX / 2017 and XXXX / XXXX / 2017 . And, so far have charged my card {$100.00} on XXXX / XXXX / 2017 , instead of just {$100.00}. They never sent me a schedule of payment. And, even after the fir st 2 pa yments came out, they called my Uncle and left a threatening voicemail. I called the original debt company, and they told me they sold my debt to another company ( XXXX XXXX ), who informed me they sold the debt to API. Since I was a ble to trail API t o XXXX , I thought the company was legit. However, charging my card with no signed authorization, charging my card a different amount than agreed, no payment schedule, and contacting my uncle after I had already set up an arrangement, made me suspicious.

I took out a loan from a company called " XXXX XXXX '' in XXXX of 2015 of the amount of {$2500.00}. I received a phone call from my sister that someone named XXXX contacted to verify who I am and where I live, she also contacted several other people in my family and job to get in touch with me. When I called XXXX she told me that she works for a company called " API Recovery Solutions '' in good faith I gave her my account information because I know I took out this loan and set up a payment arrangement with her which was going to be {$400.00} a month over the course of 2 years with no interest ; however, when I looked up this company there is no information of its existence. I asked XXXX to send me a letter to confirm that she works here and I got an address which was XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NY XXXX and phone number is XXXX. When I look up this address it is showing that it is a XXXX XXXX. She threatened to take me to court and sue me for the {$4800.00} and guaranteed me that I would loose in court. After I hung up the phone with her something did n't seem right. I started to do my research and contacted XXXX XXXX to see where my debt had gone and they told me that it got sold to " buyers holders inc '' and that they ca n't give me anymore information not even a number to contact them and that I had to look it up. After looking up the company buyers holders inc, I am still not able to find any information on it. All I would like to do is find out where my debt went and see how I can settle this because none of these companies that are calling me or non- existent. I went ahead and cancelled my debit card and reported it to my bank but now I am back at step one.

They have been contacting me since XX/XX/XXXX that I know of. They claim that I owe a debt that I know nothing about. The have contacted my sister and my job now leaving threatening messages. They left a voicemail on my company receptionist voice mail on XX/XX/XXXX stating my FULL social security numnber threatening to that they were sending a writ and that they were looking for a fax number that I called and provided on XX/XX/XXXX. The voice mail he leaves states a case number XXXX i have the voicemail saved. They also contacted like I mentioned my sister XXXX leaving a threatening voice mail stating that she or myeself or my attorney must contact him by the end of the day or else ( he did not elaborate ). When I called back he would not tell me the full name of the company, or his location. He requested my bank or card information and if not then he would be grnishing my wages. When i asked for more information he stated that he did not have any to give me and that was not his department. My biggest concern is that he is calling random numbers and leaving my social security number all over the place. I would like hep on this matter as i belive this is among other things i have mentiond ar illegal practices by a debt collector. Please help me, luckily I have an understanding employer but I cant imagine everyone is so lucky. I ( and my family ) received several phone calls from a company called API stating theh were hired by XXXX and that they are going to sue me for over {$13000.00}. However, I contacted LoanMe said they sold my account to a third party collection agency ( that agency is not API ) and the amount sold was {$4000.00}. A woman named XXXX first contacted me ( and my family members ) on XXXX and she proceeded to tell my family members that I had a legal matter that could effect me financially for up to 10 years. I called her on XXXX ( details are explained in a complaint I filled last week ). Yesterday she called me again stating I was going to be sued and then today she called me again threatening to call my employer. She also called my family members today as well, calling one two times in a row, leaving the same message as before ( that I had severe legal matters that need to be taken care of ... so on ). I have not once received any written notification that they now own this debt, not have I received any written letters that would allow me to properly validate this debt. She stated they were hired by XXXX, which I have verified with XXXX is false information. At this point I would consider this harassment of not only me, but my family as well. This is also a violation of FDCPA policies, by calling me ( and my relatives ) and threatening me before ever sending any written notification of them owing the debts and of my rights for validation and by stating that they were hired by XXXX to fulfill their legal acctions.

i had a pay day loan with a company called XXXX XXXX. the interest rate was 200 % because of my poor credit rating. i borrowed {$2500.00}. i had paid over {$3000.00} back on the loan then was not working for a period of time and the loan went to a collection agency. i got repeated phone calls from the agency ( API Recovery Solutions ) stating that if i did not contact them that they would notify law enforcement. they also contacted my wife, sisters in laws, brother in laws, parents and even friends of friends. i finally called them back and told them to remove all phone numbers and stop contacting everyone except myself however even after that phone call they still continued to call. when i called them back to complain they again stated that if i did not come up with a way to pay back the debt they would persue legal action against me. i told them i could not pay back the full amount in a one lump sum of over {$8000.00}. I said i could do bi monthly payments in which i am paying now at {$500.00} every two weeks. however i only agreed to pay because of the threats for legal action. they also told that to all the friends of mine they called that if I didnt contact them then legal action would be taking. i feel this is a violation of my rights and feel they were in the wrong for contacting people other than myself the only person on the original loan. i feel i should not have to pay any of the remaining debt due to the harassment

I received a call from a man identifying himself as XXXX XXXX. In the voicemail message he said he was calling from API. However in the next message he said it was Regency One XXXX. I did return the call once he wanted me to verify some information. Then he says well have " they '' contacted you. I asked who is " they '' and he said well I 'll tell you that later. Then he asked again, have " they '' sent a letter. Since I refused to respond anymore without know who " they '' were he told me it was XXXX XXXX XXXX. Then he states that his company is looking to forcibly collect a debt and will do so be either wage garnishment or placing a lien on my current vehicle.When I asked how would you place a lien on a vehicle that has nothing to do with this company or this debt he said well I do n't know m'am but they are looking to forcibly collect this debt. I explained to him that I would then contact the company directly and discuss this debt with them at which point he states that 's not going to work and that I have to pay them. I politely got off the phone. I did attempt to email the company he spoke about but as of right now I have n't gotten a response. He also contacted my mothers home and asked to speak to her. He would not provide any further information about his company ( i.e. contact/mailing info etc. ) And I 've attempted to find information on my own and have come up with 2 possible addresses and 3 phone numbers

On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX called and left messages with my wife, my mother-in-law at on the general ( not private ) voicemail box at my work. He left details with my wife about what the debt was, how much, etc. I called him back and got his voicemail, in it I specifically asked that he not call my work and not leave messages with anyone other than myself. Then, today, XX/XX/XXXX, he called my work again and asked the receptionist to speak with me. He also left a voicemail on my wife 's phone and my mother-in-law 's phone asking them to pass along a message for me to call him. The numbers called are : my work : XXXX my mother-in-law : XXXX my wife : XXXX my home phone : XXXX my cell phone : XXXX I again asked him to not call my work and to only leave messages on my own number. I spoke with him on XX/XX/XXXX and made arrangements to get the debt paid and taken care of. I spoke with him again on XX/XX/XXXX when he called my work looking for me again and they forwarded his call to me. I again asked he not call anyone other than myself about this debt and that since I've already made arrangements, he shouldn't keep calling anyway. Then, on XX/XX/XXXX I got messages from 2 of my sisters-in-law and my brother-in-law that they had a voicemail from him on their phone from early that morning. The numbers called were XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX, respectively.

Recieved a call from a gentlemen named XXXX he left me a message while I was at work. Stating it was in regards to a debt related to my social security #. He stated I had limited time to speak with him to resolve matter. He left a number to reach him at that was not the same number he called from. A few hours later several family members and friends contacted me stating they had been harrassed by the company trying to find me and they had disclosed my personal information to them. I know have people that have my contact information that I do not speak with and now being harrassed by family that I have gone through legal matters to stay away from. This company claims I owe a debt to them and I am not even sure who they are, I asked for documentation and was told it could be emailed to me. I expressed I do not want an email only a written letter sent to my home which I have not recieved. I also expressed they are not to contact anyone other then myself and not to give out personal information if this continues I will press charges. They continue to call and harrass myself and family/friends in this matter and I have not recieved any documentation of a " debt '' that I owe.

API calls themselves a " Mediation Firm. '' This is a euphemism for a debt collector. They have called my number ( above ) numerous times during work hours. Thirty minutes ago, they left a message with my employer. Twice within the last 48 hours, they called my mother in Florida. Several of the voice mails for me reference that " I have a decision to make '' after stating the license and make of my vehicles. The lady with whom I spoke on the phone a few moments ago was incredibly rude after I asked her company to provide me a " validation of debt letter. '' She said they emailed one. They did a few weeks ago. I requested, per law, that her company send it through the US mail. She replied, " What, now you 're an expert on Fair Trade Law! You 're a professional debtor! '' Then she hung up. The case number in reference is XXXX. Before I got mad on the phone, I asked if we could be congenial since there are Fair Trade Practices for debt collectors, or as she calls them " mediation firms. '' She remained ugly on the phone. As stated, they have called me multiple times and left threatening messages ; they have called family members multiple times. Enough phone harassment.

I received several calls from someone named XXXX stating she was from API and was trying to get an statement from me or my attorney. They called my brothers and told them that I listed them as a reference ( LIES! ). I finally called back and they were threatening to take the matter to court to garnish my wages if I did n't make a down payment by the end of the month and monthly payments after that. The debt is real but after reading this is speaking with my mom who had the same experience with them, I now know that this is a scam. My mom was telling me to XXXX them but all that came up were several complaints of a scam with the same or similar stories. I called back to get an address and the address provided led me to a XXXX XXXX. I called back to verify that I copied the address correctly and was reassured that it was correct. When I asked him if they were located inside a XXXX XXXX I was told they were next door to XXXX although the address was the same. I called the XXXX XXXX associated with that address and I was informed that they supposedly had a box inside the store, but if that is true, why was I told they were next door? SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!

In addition to complaint # XXXX and XXXX ( the original complaint ) they contacted another family member on XXXX XXXX, 2017. They contacted my aunt, stated they were trying to reach me regarding a serious legal matter. They also contacted my Grandmother 's home, I have no idea how they are even getting this information. They told my grandmother I would be jailed. My XXXX year old grandmother called me in a panic. The name of the person that made this call was XXXX XXXX? Not even sure that 's a legitimate name and the phone number is XXXX, file # XXXX. When I returned this call to speak with XXXX XXXX, I was told it had been dismissed and they could n't provide me any further information. How are these people getting away with this type of harassment. They contacted my job repeatedly after being asked not to. They called asking to speak with my HR department. They 've contacted every member of my family as if I 'm some type of criminal, then to say it was dismissed. This ca n't be legal and I would like answers. If I could sue this company or press charges, I absolutely would in a heartbeat!

API out of New York contacted me. They also contacted my grandmother. Told her the amount I owed also told her I could be taken to court or wages garnished. They have not sent paper by mail to my address. Will not give a return address. They took a XXXX dollar payment and then on the next payment we would pay XXXX. Called and did not get anyone. It said the XXXX customer was unavailable. The next day they called me. I asked about the XXXX deal. She knew nothing of it. XXXX is a local MS , TN & Al cell phone company. All I could pay was another XXXX dollars. They would not take it. Refused. Said they were turning it over to the courts. Also threatened my wife with charges. They sent a plain envelope with a basic layout to my grandmother with no return address only the amount I owed. Threatening, claiming court & garnishing of wages, giving out personal & financial info & not taking a payment because the amount was n't what we agreed on. I will not pay them anything else. API out of New York, I guess used all those tactics toward family member & myself.

API collection agency contacted my parents on XX/XX/2017 demanding that I pay my debt immediately. My parents contacted me and I contacted the agency. They demanded that I pay the debt owed by today XX/XX/2017 or they would be forwarding my case on to the county. The amount owed is {$280.00} and they are stating they can sue me for up to {$3000.00} including court cost and attorney fees. When I asked why I had n't been receiving any mail on this matter they stated they had been sending it. When i requested to what address they stated an old address for me and told me it was my fault that they did not have a current address. They are also accusing me of purposefully defrauding a financial institution. I have paid {$600.00} on this debt to date. They also claim that they are a mediation service, never stating directly that they are trying to collect a debt. They also claim to have recordings of all of our conversations but do not have a phone call monitoring disclosure.

My family and I have been receiving harassing calls from a debt collector company called API Recovery Solutions. One of their representatives calls my mothers house multiple times per day and called both of us at XXXX today. When I called back the representative was very rude and said if I did not make a payment arrangement on a default loan today he was going to submit my file for review so they could sue me or set up wage garnishments as I am refusing to make payments on the loan. I told the representative ( a XXXX XXXX that he no longer can call my family any more and that him calling me so early in the morning is a serious problem. The rep then advised me is company is not a debt collector but a " mediation company '' so he does not have to put my family on a no-call list and refused to transfer me to a manager/supervisor when I asked for one. He then proceeded to hang up on me after telling me I do n't sound like someone who wants to handle my responsibilities.
