A company named Resurgence Capital put a lien on my bank account with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. They took out almost {$2000.00} from my account at that time and drained it out. After filing court documents to get the judgment quashed because I was never served properly, Resurgence and I worked out a deal. They agreed to keep all the money they took out of my account in exchange for resolving the outstanding debt. I was under the impression that this matter had been closed.
I received a letter just yesterday from a firm called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that says I owe them money for a debt they purchased from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, stemming from my debt owed to Resurgence Capital, nearly 8 years after I resolved my issues with Resurgence.
This was completely out of left field. I was completely blindsided by this letter. I have been under the impression for 8 years now that this debt has been resolved. During XXXX I worked tirelessly to repair my credit and resolve all outstanding debts that I had. I left no stone unturned.
To receive a letter like this years later just seems like a shady attempt to bamboozle me out of more money when I have already reached a resolution with the original company, Resurgence Capital LLC.
I called the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to resolve this and explain the situation to them, but they do not seem like they are interested in helping me resolve this matter. They just want to bilk me out of more money. I had an agreement with Resurgence Capital. Theres no reason I should have a collection company sending me any letters about any debt stemming from that original debt. Everything has been resolved for 8 years now.

XXXX and XXXX is trying collect some mysterious debt from XXXX that I do recognize.
Not only is this long beyond the statute of limitations, if this company is not fraudulent, is most likely due to the XXXX identity theft scandal from the early XXXX.
They said I contacted them therefore I acknowledged the debt was real.
