I took out a loan through a credit union in or aroun d XX/XX/XXXX for tuition at XXXX XXXX University in XXXX PA. The loan became due 6 months after graduation which XX/XX/XXXX as I graduated in XX/XX/XXXX . Because I was unemployed I went into forbearance. However, the servicer kept sending letters demanding the balance due. In or aro und XX/XX/XXXX I contact the servicer and spoke with a XXXX XXXX . XXXX XXXX had been calling me 3 times a day at least 3 days a week regarding the loan. I retried my loan information from the website and referenced that at no time did I stipulate in any agreement that I would pay an amount they suggested. In addition I pointed out that no where in the agreement does it mention a specified amount. I set up payments of XXXX . for the two accounts that I have. These are auto pay accounts drafter from my checking account. I have noticed that at least twice the company has tampered with my account as in removing the auto pay from both accounts then when I reinstate them, they would go and remove auto pay from XXXX to make it seem as if I am not paying my account. I requested the company to stop calling me on several occasions in writing and over the phone with reps XXXX XXXX and a rep named XXXX . As of XX/XX/XXXX I receive d a call from XXXX from Reliamax calling me about the loan yet again. Prior to my answering the XX/XX/XXXX call Reliamax has been calling me from numerous numbers in South Dakota, Florida and other locations. No messages are left as they were before the requests were made not to call me. This tells me that the company is aware of my request in writing and verbally to cease the calls. I currently have about 9 saved voicemails from XXXX still on my phone where he called me consistently on a daily basis. My telephone bill reflects the numbers if times Reliamax has called me before and after I made the request and shows the frequency is still the same. I believe that through their refusal to honor my request and demand not to be called as well as the tampering on the account, that Reliamax is intentionally trying to harm me. When XXXX XXXX and I spoke last, I faxed her the copy of the agreement that I have and requested from her a copy of the agreement showing my signature and the specific amount that I agreed to pay in monthly installments. XXXX XXXX never responded. XXXX also never responded and XXXX advised me on the call taken on XX/XX/XXXX that the contracts do not reflect the language that specifies borrowers agree to pay a certai n amount. I feel that Reliamax is intentionally harassing me. Regarding my auto pay, I have it set up on a continuous basis and unless I change it which I have not, the company should not be going into my account and turning off payments in an effort to assert a claim that I am not paying which is what I believ e Reliamax is doing. As I stated, this has occurred twice with them regarding my payments. In addition Reliamax is inflating the actual debt by first ass igning an unagreed upon amount of repayment to the loan, then assessing fees and penalties on that amount, then raising that amount to include previously assigned fees and penalties and assigning more fees and penalties. I make XXXX . payments o n two accou nts each month which is what I can afford. Per the call with XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX h e stated the call was to advise the one account was in default and the total amount is due. He did not specify the total amount due during the call. He also stated there was no record of my request not to call. This lets me know that neither XXXX nor XXXX XXXX adhered to my demands over the phone and that Reliamax ignored my demands in writing. Requests for information from Reliamax have gone unanswered as well. Per XXXX XXXX all documents pertaining to my accounts are online and available for me to view. Ironically the letter sent to Reliamax via fax requesting proof I agreed to pay their suggested amount in which I highlighted portions of the agreement and responded accordingly is not on the website. A request for a copy of that document also went unanswered.

In the Fall of XXXX, I registered as a student at XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX. I began classes in XXXX of XXXX and graduated with a XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX of XXXX. Shortly thereafter, I consolidated my federal student loans and have been paying them back via an income-based repayment program through National Student Servicing.I have had no trouble making these payments and the remainder of my federal student loan debt will be forgiven by XXXX. My problem is that six months after graduating, I started receiving bills from a bank called XXXX XXXX for over a thousand dollars. I am not and have never been in a position to make such a payment. I struggled to make payments for what I was being told was a " private student loan. '' In XXXX, XXXX XXXX sold my student loan debt to Reliamax Surety Company. I continued to struggle to make payments, and I attempted to consolidate this private loan through a company called XXXX XXXX. My consolidation payment was {$1100.00} per month, which caused a heavy financial burden on me and my family. I was not able to keep up with the consolidation payment, and my mother ( who is my co-signer ) and I began receiving many harassing phone calls per day from Reliamax. I was also threatened over the phone by Reliamax, I was told that if I could not pay then I would " face consequences ''. In XXXX of XXXX, my mother and I were presented with court summons because we were now being sued by Reliamax. We hired representation, and have attempted to reach a settlement with Reliamax but they have refused to accept any of our offers. When I was a student at The XXXX XXXX of XXXX, the difference between a federal and a private student loan was not explained to me. I also never saw any of the payments that XXXX XXXX made to XXXX XXXX XXXX, to my knowledge all of the loan money was sent directly to the school. When I got my federal loans in order, I thought I had everything covered, but I was sorely mistaken. I was never provided with documentation of the loan, I was told by the school that if I did not sign the loan contract, then I could not continue to attend classes. I was not consulted about where the loan was coming from, or what the consequences would be for me if I defaulted. I received no counselling when making this enormous financial decision. I was scared and intimidated because I did not want to risk not completing my degree. I feel that I was strong-armed into taking out a loan that I did not fully understand, bankruptcy is not an option, and now my mother ( my co-signer ) and I are facing huge financial detriment. I understand that XXXX XXXX XXXX have faced a class-action lawsuit for predatory lending practices, and I believe I and many other students from XXXX are victims of those practices.

I was unable to keep up with my monthly payments for my private student loan. I was paying toward the interest of the loan and not the principle. I needed help. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX company to help me assist with the loan. They negotiated my student loan from {$85000.00} to {$57000.00} from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. But XXXX sold my loan to Reliamax. XXXX XXXX XXXX company contacted Reliamax and got my loan further reduced to {$27000.00}. Which is how much I paid Reliamax. I completed the payments in XXXX of 2020. And now they gave my account to XXXX XXXX collection agency claiming I never paid them. They also opened a collection under my credit history as security credit services for {$57000.00}. I am trying to have this removed. Im disputing it with the credit bureaus. This is causing me to loose a home I was about to purchase and these people should not be allow to do business if they will do this to students who settle their debt.

During high pressure meetings with XXXX XXXX XXXX I was pressured into enrolling and taking on a loan in the amount of about {$70000.00} with XXXX XXXX XXXX. This was to be used to pay for my entire XXXX XXXX training program in advance. In 2006, the school filed for chapter XXXX bankruptcy and offered no forgiveness or help with this loan. We filed a class action suit to have this debt wiped away, but it was settled for a lesser amount. I was still left with a loan of about {$33000.00} to pay for. My training was never complete and I am not eligible for employment as a pilot in any capacity. Basically, I received {$33000.00} worth of helicopter rides. Recently, my loan was sold to Reliamax.

ReliaMax created obstacles to fair repayment by providing bad information about forbearance and deferment. For ReliaMax, they mean the same thing. See attachment. Normally, a forbearance is an option if the student is not eligible to postpone payments using a deferment. ReliaMax refused to offer deferment as per terms from XXXX XXXX. I borrowed XXXX dollars from max lend, to be paid back in installments, XXXX each month, well I have paid back over XXXX dollars monthly and to get the loan paid off they want XXXX in addition to pay if off. That seems exhorbitant to me! I already paid what I borrowed and I am willing to pay off an additional XXXX if that will close the loan but they want an additional XXXX to what I have already paid. I did not realize that when I borrowed the original XXXX dollars. I was strapped as I am retired and had an unexpected expense.

My payment is due on XX/XX/XXXX of each month. I had a payment scheduled on XX/XX/XXXX for XX/XX/XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX an email was sent to the co-borrower stating that a payment had not been made. The account was not even 10 days late. My Dad, the co-borrower, made an additional payment, on top of the one i had already made. Something needs to be in place to show pending/ schedule payments. This is ridiculous!
