My mortgage company provided my 'final closing disclosure ' around 24-hours before closing on my purchase. Even still, I walked into closing only to discover that the 'final closing disclosure ' was wrong by nearly {$1000.00}. The closing attorney and realtor asked how I wanted to proceed. Since we flew down primarily to close, and get the new place set up, I really didn't have a choice -- and proceeded with closing.
I thought I understood the Tila-Respa guidelines to require the lender give me a good representation of 'final fees ' at least 3 business days prior to settlement. If that's true, how can the above be acceptable?
I've left two voicemail messages, and sent an email, to my loan officer. No reply, nearly a week later. HELP! What are my options?
