I got a phone call to my number from a lady and she left a voicemail. I was told that my name and social security number was placed on her desk and a claim was filed against me and that I needed to go to her office and sign some paperwork. She never told me what company she worked for or anything. I called the number and XXXX XXXX ext : XXXX picked up the phone I gave him all my information and he told me that he was from Red Cedar Associated and that someone was trying to sue me for money owed and that I needed to pay it up from and I could n't make any payments. If I did n't pay him up front then they will file a judgement against me. I told him to send me a bill and he said he will send a notice statement to my email address. I asked him if he had anything from the original loaner, and he said no just that it came from XXXX in Arizona. I said fine just email me what you have. He told me that once I reviewed the email to call as soon as possible because they this is very urgent and I could be in big trouble. So once I got the paper in the email I looked it over and gave him a call back. A man by the name of XXXX XXXX Ext : XXXX answered the phone, I asked to speak with XXXX XXXX he said he was unavailable but he could help me. I told him if I could make a payment plan to pay and he kept telling me no that I would have to pay the whole amount. I told him I wanted to send payment using a cashiers check and he told me no they would not accept it due to the severity of the loan. So I went on their website and t states that they accept money orders, money grams, debt, credit and checks by mail and over the phone. I told him this then he told me to hold. He placed XXXX XXXX on the phone, XXXX XXXX started to bully me and told me I had to use a debit, credit or prepaid card and nothing else. I told him I needed to track my payment. He then told me he needed to get his director on the phone. Then placed XXXX XXXX on. I asked for their director and XXXX XXXX said he was the director. I told them I need to be able to make payments in small sums every week using a cashiers check. He told me no I ca n't do that and if I sent a cashiers check that they would just send it back to me. Then my spouse got on the phone and told him the same thing I was saying then said I was pregnant and can not pay a large sum and I had to use a cashier check to track my payment. Then placed me back in the phone. XXXX XXXX then told me not to worry that I can send a cashiers check for any amount. I asked if they sent invoices letting me know they received payment he told me no just call over the phone.

I recently had my information taken from a payday loan website. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX at XXXX I recieved a phone call from an unknown number. As there was no caller ID, I allowed the call to go to voicemail. I recieved a minute-long voicemail from a woman Identifying herself as a XXXX XXXX. She said she was calling regarding some paperwork I need to sign for regarding a request placed under your name and social security number and I need to place you on my schedule regarding a claim that an office is looking to place against you. She said she placed me on her schedule for the XXXX of XXXX XXXX if I have any questions regarding the matter to call the office that had filed a complaint against me at XXXX reference number XXXX.
Having worked in collections for nearly XXXX years I know that this is a tell tale sign of a debt collection scam or at best a scare tactic used by a collection agency which is in direct violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act XXXX you arent supposed to impersonate a lawyer or process server ).
Needless to say, I did not call back. A quick search via google for the number yieled nothing. As the woman who called didnt call from a known number or leave a company name and number for me to call back, I decided to ignore the call.
The next day, at XXXX am I recieved another call from a blocked and unknown number. The same woman had called and left another message. She stated that as she had heard nothing different from the office who filed the complaint she would be moving forward with delivering papers that required my signature on the XXXX and that if I have any questions to call the company who filed at XXXX.
This type or behavior was obviously supposed to be a lure, to get me to call back.
I purposely waited until after business hours to call the number. After XXXX ring, the number was automatically forwarded to a voicemail box that stated Thank You For Calling Red Cedar Associates, our office is currently closed ... then it rambled off their hours of operation and asked me to leave a brief message.
A quick google search of Red Cedar Associates brought me to their website and phone number. I called their number off of the website : XXXX, and it was the same exact mailbox. This company, weather they are a legit collection company or not, needs to be stopped.

On XX/XX/2018 I received a phone call from a man who said he was calling from an attorneys office and during the phone call said that they could possibly garnish my wages and that I needed to set up a payment arrangement of 3 bi weekly payments of {$100.00} in order to avoid them garnishing my wages ( prior to this phone call I had never heard of this company or been notified via mail or phone that my file had been transferred to a collection agency ) .I asked my girlfriend to call him for me because she works in the collection industry and understands the process more than I do. She was able to talk to him regarding my debt without me having to give authorization he asked her if the last 4 of my social was -- -- and asked her for my birth date and that is the extent of his verification, he after all of this told her that the call is recorded. She offered to have me get on the line and give authorization before he tried to verify my information with her, but he did not require her to do so. He told her first that their office doesn't make outbound calls after calling me not even 30 min before that. He also told her I owe {$310.00} and that I can make payment arrangements but that they have not attempted to take legal action yet. He claimed that he did not say they would garnish my wages but that if they decide to further legal action they could possibly do that after she told him she works with the legal department of a collection agency. He said his name is XXXX XXXX and the phone number she reached him at is XXXX he said his ext is XXXX. She attempted to call back about 5 min later to get the name of the company but no one answered the phone and the voicemail stated there name is Red Cedar Associates Llc. and that their office was closed. I feel extremely violated. Not only have they been consistently calling me and harassing me I felt he was trying to intimated me or threatening me. I want him to be aware that the way he went about this call was not OK and from what i saw online a lot of people complain about this company threatening them and harassing them and believe they need to be held accountable for their actions.

Receive a voice message ( call was from a spoofed NY number ) from someone identifying herself as XXXX XXXX. Did not state what company but stated that she has some paperwork for me to sign. She has a request under my name and ss #. She stated that she would place me on her schedule and I must sign for the documents regarding a claim that an office placed against me. Stated the paperwork would be derived on XX/XX/18. If I had questions I was to call XXXX with reference # XXXX.
I called the office on Saturday morning they were closed but identified themselves as Red Cedar Associates. I have seen other complaints on your site about this company as well. I called the number again today ( Monday XX/XX/18 ) and spoke with XXXX XXXX. He stated that I had a defaulted contract with XXXX XXXX. I requested to see the information in writing via US Postal mail. He wanted to email the info, I again requested the information in writing. How do I know that this isnt a scam?
Received another voice message from XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) same spoofed number as before. She stated that since she had not received information from the client she was going to go ahead and stop by my residence and to have the paperwork signed. When I attempted to call her back the line is busy. Confirming that it is not a real phone number.
On XX/XX/18 I accepted a settlement with XXXX XXXX, per our email. I also provided them with the banking info as requested in the time frame requested. The next day I emailed them and they told me that I missed the deadline. Which is absolutely erroneous. I provided them with the requested information appropriately 2 hours after the request. This should not be a matter for me to be threated to sue or any other threat imposed. XXXX XXXX with Red Cedar Assoc certainly didnt try to assist with contacting XXXX XXXX person either. I am VERY concerned here. Assistance with resolution is most appreciated.

Company called my fathers work phone number and left a message stating Red Cedar Associates was coming to serve me papers for a lawsuit this Wednesday. I spoke to a representative named XXXX on the phone with my dad on the phone as well. He asked me to verify my private information prior to releasing any information about the judgment against me or without telling me what the call was in reference to ( as I never received a phone call or voicemail prior to this ). He sent me and my father an email with the deposition that I will be served on Wednesday, but there is no reference to any lawsuit or any legal action to be taken. I have had phone calls like this before and I know they are scammers, as well this company has had numerous complaints and lawsuits filed against them in the past 5 years. I want something done about this.

I recieved a restricted number phone call ( voicemail ) from a XXXX XXXX stating he had some legal documents that are to be served to me and for me to sign. He stated he had my name and social security number and he was reaching out to me to inform me he will be serving me papers on Monday, XXXX XXXX. I called the number he provided and submitted the ref number that was left in the message. The lady that answered said the business was Red Cedar Associates and asked my name. I asked who they were looking for and when they said the incorrect name I hung up, in suspicion of a scam. I then looked up Red Cedar Associates and found the are a debt consolidation company.

I got a call stating that I needed to be home on XXXX/XXXX/17 because XXXX XXXX was coming to serve me with legal documents that I needed to sign because a company was taking legal actions against me and I should call XXXX for more information. I called and the company is Red Cedar Associates the guy said he was collecting for a payday loan company called XXXX I asked him did he buy the debt from them he said no that they are collecting for them and I needed to pay XXXX $ to him today or if I got served with the legal action it would be XXXX plus collection fees and interest fees and that they would win in court because they have my bank information.

These people are calling each and every one of my telephone lines constantly, several times a day, every day. I need this to stop. They are sharing my information with others and have contacted me on numerous occasions at my place of employment. They are harassing me and my children and making threats, going to my home and banging on the door at all hours. They 've made numerous withdrawals from my account and are saying that I still owe money. I need them to stop immediately.
