I purchased a new XXXX XXXX through an XXXX dealership on XX/XX/XXXX. The vehicle was financed through XXXX XXXX XXXX at a higher interest rate than I would have preferred but due to the rebate ( {$1000.00} ), the financing had to be with them. However, the condition of the loan permitted refinancing after 90 days. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a pre-approved loan offer from a XXXX and rateGenius to refinance my vehicle from 5.56 % to 2.247 %. I immediately submitted a loan application to refinance the loan on the vehicle. The loan was quickly approved. I provided them with the documentation which they required to the loan process. Suddenly, there was a 1 % increase in the interest rate which was still a reduction when compared to the existing auto loan. I consented. I had to have documents notarized, insurance verification submitted, along with a checklist of additional items. Finally, I was told to submit ( 2 ) years of Federal Tax Returns. I found this to be questionable because this has never been a requirement during the 40 years in which I've purchased new vehicles. When I questioned the reasoning for requesting my tax returns, I was told it was not necessary but they wanted me to consent to yet another credit report. I objected because this would have been the 2nd obtained by them, and, added to the one originally obtained by XXXX XXXX XXXX, there would have been a total of three ( 3 ) credit reports secured by lenders within a six ( 6 ) month period. Invariably, this action would have had an adverse effect on my credit and resulted in reducing my credit score. I then wrote to both the President and CEO of XXXX and to rateGenius to express my displeasure with their lending policy. Following my correspondence to XXXX, I was sent a letter from rateGenius stating that they were unable to find a lender that could provide a lower rate and therefore my loan request could not be granted. They went on to say, " This may not be due to your credit rating ; in fact, it may be that you already had a good interest rate and we could not find a lower rate. '' They stated that my credit score is " XXXX. '' Additionally, they list four ( 4 ) factors which adversely affected my credit score. All four ( 4 ) factors are false and a total fabrication of the truth. I have since written again to them along with XXXX to contest and appeal the rejection letter and the adverse factors which effects my credit score.

Mid XX/XX/XXXX, I was on line looking at car loan rates. I don't remember what site it was and I started putting info in. But when it got to the point where I was putting personal info in, I cleared out and went back and cleared out all info. Then on XX/XX/XXXX I got an alert from XXXX ... I had an auto inquiry from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that put a ding on my report. I called the agency the ask for the credit check. They informed me that Rate Genius asked them to get credit score. I have never heard of or contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX or Rate Genius. How could these agencies get my info to get a credit report!! I called both agencies and both said they could not do anything. Each sorta of blamed the other. I called XXXX but they said they could not do anything. I had talked to a lady at XXXX XXXX, and she promised me she would check into this and get back to me within a week. When I did not hear back from her, I called her on XX/XX/XXXX got her voice mail and told her if she did not get back to me, I was going to file a compliant. That night I call a call from Rate Genius from XXXX, He said he would check into this and get back to me within a few days. Of course I did not hear back from him and on XX/XX/XXXX I called him and of course got his voice mail, left a message and have not heard back from him. All I'm asking of either of the 2 companies is to reverse the credit check on my account. Yes, I went online but I removed all my info and they shouldn't have any of my info. Then for XXXX to give them a report with my permission!! I work hard to keep my credit score up and for someone to get a report and put a " ding '' on my account with my knowledge or approval!! When I talked with XXXX, I did put a Fraud alert on my account, whereas if anyone wants a credit score, I will have to be contacted. Then to add salt to the wound, both companies denied me credit!!! I have excellent credit. I am hoping that you can help me get the credit check off my account. Thank you XXXX XXXX

About 2 weeks ago, I submitted an application on XXXX to be connected with companies who could offer me an Auto Refinance Loan. I ended up deciding to wait a while for my credit to get even better, but I wanted to warn others about the tactics used by RateGenius.com. I was called today at work by who I assume to be XXXX XXXX @ Rate Genius. I am making this assumption because I was emailed at the same time as called by Rate Genius, with the sender being XXXX XXXX. XXXX informed me that they had preformed a " hard pull '' of my credit score, as well had all 10+ ( or more ) affiliates that were notified of my application at XXXX . To be clear, these are not words of warning about XXXX. Of course, as an informed person, I knew this to not be true, as XXXX would not have a viable business model if they destroyed the credit of every person who uses their service. I was taken aback by the call, and so decided that I should report this employee to the company so that they could retrain this person. I spoke with " XXXX '' over their live chat service available on the homepage of RateGenius.com. I have screen-shotted the entirety of the conversation, and am attaching it to this report. Instead of apologizing and promising to retrain the confused employee, as I suspected, instead the representative DOUBLED DOWN on this. He claimed incorrectly first that XXXX authorizes it's affiliates to run credit reports, even though I knew ( by XXXX 's own disclosures ) that this is not true. After copy/pasting XXXX 's disclosures into the conversation, XXXX then stated again that affiliates are free to effectively destroy credit reports by running soft or hard pulls at their discretion. These aggressive and misleading sales tactics would easily scare and confuse an uninformed person into signing up NOW, since their credit would be ruined for years.

Hi, i am in the process of trying to refinance my auto loan. i currently have a loan with XXXX XXXX and i noticed that on my XXXX XXXX account they list my loan and showed that they thought i could get a better rate if i refinanced. the XXXX XXXX site showed several loan refinancing provider options. the first option they showed me was the lowest rate and monthly payment through a company called Rate Genius. i currently pay XXXX per month on a loan with 9.5 % interest. the Rate genius site offered me a loan at 6 % with a monthly payment of XXXX dollars, so naturally i went with that. i went to the site and filled out the application and i got an email back saying i had been approved and would be contacted by a representative. the next day i got an email from a company rep that again said i had been approved, but when i looked at the loan details, it was for a loan with 7.7 % interest, for 66 months, and a XXXX monthly payment. i wrote back saying that this was not the loan RateGenius said i was approved for and that i want the original loan i was approved for. they now have written me back again trying to get me to accept this not so great loan. it seems to me that maybe they are offering loans that people qualify for but then trying to switch the loan details to maximize their profit by trying to get people to accept loan offers that are not as good as they qualify for. even they are just offering me a revised loan based on my qualifications, the fact still remains that they led me to believe i was approved for a specific loan being offered and then tried to get me to accept a different loan. it seems pretty deceptive and kind of seems like false advertising.

It began when I submitted a request with XXXX for their free quotes on refinancing my XXXX XXXX. I read their terms and it states they would gather some information from me an sent it to several lenders. It also states that several soft inquires may occur by the lenders. Within minutes after completing the form for the fee quotes from XXXX I started to receive emails and phone calls from several lenders. Once I learned some of lenders offers I declined to continue with the process of getting a loan. Out all the these lenders with their offers, one lender, RATEGENIUS, somehow continued the process by completing a loan application. Then shortly afterward I receive an alert saying that RATEGENIUS had submitted a hard inquiry from XXXX. I ran XXXX XXXX and I learned that XXXX XXXX had done a hard pull on my XXXX credit report on XX/XX/2019. Today, around XXXX XXXX I called XX/XX/XXXX customer service and she connected me with the dispute team rep. The dispute rep I spoke to says there is not much I do about this hard pull even without my permission given to RateGenius. I have had several hard pulls in the past, but have never submitted a dispute. Today I decide to submit a dispute and the credit agency tells me I can't do anything but wait 2 years until it is remove from my credit reports. I just don't believe nothing can be done about these issues. So I am contacting your agency for assistance in this matter. Please help me in resolving this matter with Rate Genius Loan Services.

In XXXX I was considering refinancing a vehicle I have since paid off. I filled out the XXXX online form to view XXXX 's prospective offers for an auto refinance loan. An individual by the name of XXXX XXXX from a XXXX partner, RateGenius, contacted me on the morning of XX/XX/XXXX over texts. I was not interested to refinance at the time - I was just looking at prospective offers. I opted out explicitly over texts and told him I may refinance in 1.5 months, of which I have proof. Prior to reaching out, on XX/XX/XXXX he sent my application along with my Social Security Number to yet another company ( not a XXXX partner ) called XXXX 's XXXX XXXX XXXX that pulled a hard credit inquiry on my file. I found this out very late on XX/XX/XXXX. I'd like to state this business has qualification requirements to meet to be able to even take a loan from them, found on this site : " XXXX : XXXX ''. It is correct to assume I have no such qualifications. I have two issues : 1 ) if I do not recognize or know you as a business, do not touch my credit file, and 2 ) XXXX 's false advertising on XXXX XXXX XXXX ' : " When you find a lender that meets your needs and is able to offer a competitive rate, contact that lender and get the refinancing process started. '' This statement is false because the refinance process was already started prior to the XXXX XXXX reaching out.

I put in information through XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2020 at XXXX XXXX. I clicked on Rate Genius 2.25 % for 48 months and continued from there. I never gave my full social security number to ANYONE. I used this chat feature on Rate Genius to ask how they could send me loan offers without running my credit because they didn't have my social. I wanted to make sure that this company would not do any hard inquiry on my credit, as I was just shopping around at the time and wanted to see what I could find. The person said " we don't need your social to get you approved. '' I looked today and I have received THREE hard inquiries to my credit score! What's worse -- the offer they actually sent over was a full 1.25 % higher than the " pre-approved '' rate. I reached out to Rate Genius and they said " you gave us express written permission to retrieve your credit when you clicked " continue '' on XXXX XXXX and Rate Genius. They never had my info to run it, so they somehow found it and ran it saying that I gave them express permission to do so! This is completely unacceptable and absolutely unethical. Tiny fine print that allowed them to make three hard inquires -- and the person from the company told me the social wasn't even needed to continue. This company should not be allowed to continue doing this to innocent people!

on XX/XX/2021 I logged into my XXXX XXXX account to check possible auto loan refinance rates. I was taken through a very general prompt. I was never specifically told that my credit was going to be checked for this request. I was under the impression that my credit will not be checked and I will be displayed rates on a pre-approval basis, more like a soft inquiry. Once I was alerted of an inquiry on my report, I checked my report and found two credit inquiries from Rate Genius. I never followed through with them after my initial request and was not aware that they checked my credit. I called them on XX/XX/2021 to have these inquires removed and they told me they won't remove the inquiries because I should have known credit karma will check my credit. This was completely false, there was no disclaimer on XXXX XXXX. I would like them to remove the two inquires placed on my credit report on XX/XX/2021 and XXXX. I still don't understand why they checked my credit twice. The impact of these inquiries resulted in my long standing credit card lowering my credit limit as well as my credit score dropping 10 points.

To whom it may concern : I went through XXXX XXXX to see about refinancing my auto loan. When I asked to see what kind of loan I might be able to get I was contacted by several agencies. I ended up speaking with the first one that contacted me and they advised me they would do a soft credit inquiry. I agreed to it, however, I got a hit on my XXXX Credit report from a company I hadn't even spoken with. They pulled my credit report which lowered my score without my consent. I was told by XXXX that I needed to call the RateGenius back and ask them to remove the inquiry, however they claim that XXXX XXXX allows them to pull people 's credit. Even if that's the case they refused to call XXXX to remove the inquiry after I made it clear that I wasn't going to business with them.

I used RateGenius to refinance my auto loan in XX/XX/2021 and the loan was funded on XX/XX/2021. RateGenius Application # XXXX. However, they have not made the title transfer fees to XXXX until XX/XX/2021. I found out there are unpaid fees from DMV and multiple lienholders on my vehicle because I was attempted to sell the vehicle in XX/XX/2021. I have tried to reach out RateGenius and XXXX XXXX. However, my concern was passing in between Customer Service and Title Department and the Department that I have no idea why I got transferred to. End up I got reached out because I posted my negative reviews. Then RateGenius trying to blame all the mistakes because of the DMV 's behind and COVID. It causes unnecessary expenses to maintain the loan. Such as interest, insurance, and multiple DMV visits. XXXX XXXX is been very helpful to address the issue but not RateGenius. I did not enter my SS number and closed the page because I didn't want hard pulls on my credit history. So I get a notification that XXXX XXXX XXXX pull a hard credit check. Spoke to the credit union and they informed me that rate genius sent them my information. Called and spoke to Rate Genius they told me that they work with the credit agency 's and all the need was a name, address and birthday, which they ask for prior to getting to the SS number, and they can pull the SS number without the public entering it into the portal. I find this to be very sneaky way of trying to get business. Now I have to dispute the hard inquiries and waste my time with this nonsense.

RateGenius is a auto refinance company online which offers auto refinance service. They advertise that you can apply with no impact to your credit score. I filled out t he online form ( nowhere does it authorize a hard inquiry unless you move forward and accept their proposed loan terms ). Someone from their office contacted me and offered an absurd rate. I told them no thank you and to close out my request for information. AFTER I requested that, they then did a hard pull on my credit file, negatively impacting my score. I never authorized the hard pull and it should be removed from my file. They don't respond to request, as they're clearly some shady fly-by-night company. I received a mailer from XXXX XXXX XXXX Rate Genius offering a " pre-qualified '' auto refinance offer. I went to XXXX to check it out. I entered their Pre-qualified code, my name, address and birthday. The site asked for my SSN. I DID NOT enter this and ended the session because I didn't want my credit pulled. I was simply interested in the information. A credit inquiry was made to XXXX without my approval. An alert shows it was pulled by RG/ XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2020. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. They claim they did not pull my credit and only use XXXX to pull reports. They instructed me to contact Rate Genius. I called Rate Genius and they confirmed they pulled my credit. I asked how they were able to do this without my approval. They could not explain it. Now, my credit score will be reduced for an inquiry I did not approve.

Today XX/XX/2020 I visited RateGenius.com/refinance to check rates without having my credit pulled ( I am in the middle of qualifying for a home this week ). The site specifically states " Shop for a better auto loan with no impact to your credit score. You could lower your monthly payment and save some serious cash! '' This was the only reason I chose this site. I couldn't have any pulls on my report. I never had to supply my ss #. Sure enough and hour later, I have not one but two credit unions pulling my report thousands of miles away. I contacted customer service ( after having to freeze all three bureaus ) and she stated by hitting submit I authorized this. I showed her the website page and what it states. No response. I asked for no further credit inquires and for the removal of the two on there and she said no.

I submitted a preapproval in lendingtree and got different agents requesting more information, but one decided to skip every protocol in the book and just pulled a hard inquiry on my credit. The lending agent apologized for it over the phone and hang up and now the manager keeps telling me that it is what it is, so they pulled my credit score twice without my authorization, zero help and I get to find through yelp that I am not the only one that this business is deceiving with their malpractice. There is federal regulations that they are skipping and it needs to stop. You need to get consent to run someones credit.we established a client to customer relationship. You need fo seek consent for that credit score

On XX/XX/2021 my wife and I were looking at rates to refinance a vehicle. We purposefully did NOT submit any applications as we are also mortgage shopping. This morning, XX/XX/2021, I received alerts that my credit reports had been pulled multiple times. On my XXXX Credit Report there is one inquiry from XXXX XXXX with no contact information whatsoever, and on my XXXX Credit Report there are 2 separate inquiries from the same credit union, XXXX. I contacted XXXX who claimed they received authorization from Rate Genius. Rate Genius 's employee, " XXXX '', advised me to dispute the inquiries but otherwise offered no assistance into the matter. I expect all inquiries to be removed as I did not authorize them.

I went on the Rate Genius website to inquire about refinancing a car loan on XX/XX/2020. I was requesting information on their rates and process. I entered my contact information which did not include my SSN. A couple of days later, I received an email that I had been approved for a loan. I never applied for a loan. I reached out to the company and was told that they had the right to pull my credit based on me reaching out to them for the inquiry. I do not understand how this is proper or fair to the consumer. This seems like the same unscrupulous behavior that caused problems for XXXX XXXX. The inquiry should be removed from my credit reports.

XX/XX/XXXX, rategenius rep XXXX XXXX pulled a hard hit on my credit score without authorization. I applied originally XX/XX/XXXX and refused the loan. I did not agree to have my credit score pulled or checked again. I do not want this loan. He had no permission to incur another hard credit hit and offer another loan I do not want. So I saw an ad that they could lower my interest rate. Gave them my information, and they put 2 hard inquiries on my report. One from XXXX XXXX XXXX and another Peoples Trust. I try calling Rate Genius and they say to call the banks and then the banks say to call Rate Genius. Then Rate Genius said to call XXXX. Went on the XXXX XXXX website to see about prequalifying to refinance my current vehicle loan. Per XXXX XXXX website it was advised there would be no hard inquiry on my credit report. XXXX XXXX did not perform any inquires on my credit report however one of their lenders did by the name of rateGenius. I did not authorize rateGenius to pull my credit nor was there a formal application

I came across rate genius on XXXX XXXX. And nowhere under the terms and conditions did it state they were going to do a hard pull on my credit report. Not only one but 4 Harding inquirys. I want them to send a request for deletion to all four banks. That was done without my consent or knowledge. I do not approve of the predatory practices
