I started the refinance process for my home on XX/XX/2020 with XXXX XXXX, XXXX licensed by the California Dept. of Financial protection and Innovation ( Formerly Dept. of Business Oversight, LICENSE # XXXX / NMLS # XXXX ). the loan officer was XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX ). I turned all needed docs. on the same day ( XX/XX/2020 ).
loan amount was {$400000.00}, i was quoted for 2.625 %, 30 years fixed. XXXX told me the loan will be closed between XX/XX/2020 to XX/XX/2020, since it is easy loan ; refinance no cash out and paying only one lender.
Rate Plus advertise on their website that they are closing their loans within 25 days!!
On XX/XX/2020, i received an email from XXXX stating that the loan was approved and they needed my last paystub and last bank statement. I emailed him and loan processor XXXX XXXX all docs. the same day. XXXX told me that my cloan will be closed by XX/XX/2020.
on XX/XX/2020, i received an email from XXXX stating that they will NOT refinance my loan, because i refinanced beforewith Owning Corporation. " I have an update on your file. The company has issued an announcement that we will not be refinancing any loans that was refinanced by Owning. From the feedback that we are receiving from incoming customers, Owning has been instructing their customers to call their competitors i.e. Rateplus just so that they are able to offer another refinance after funding has occurred. Our Capital Markets Director has been receiving a large bulk of payoff statements from Owning on loans we have just closed which is why they made the announcement. I've received several letters that appear to be from my mortgage lender but are actually advertisements from Rate Plus Inc. ( XXXX ID XXXX ) offering to refinance my mortgage with them. I'm worried that someone who reads less closely could be tricked into refinancing with a less reputable lender when they thought they were refinancing with their chosen lender.
