I was contacted by a 3rd party called R3 Processing to consolidate my federal loans and make monthly low payments based off of my income. They told me that I would make monthly payments of {$41.00} for 240 months until my federal loans were paid off. They did consolidate my loans with a company called XXXX. XXXX in turn consolidated with my loans with XXXX. I got in contact with XXXX this morning and they told me that I was n't due to make a payment for 1 year. When I heard that, I was confused about where the {$41.00} was going exactly. XXXX informed me that 3rd parties do not have access to pay any student loans and are not responsible for them. So the {$41.00} is not going to my loans like they said they were, but going to R3 processing directly. I then called the number that R3 processing provided for me and they were both disconnected. I emailed the account manager- XXXX who I spoke to previously when I was setting up this consolidation with them, and asked him to give me a direct number to reach him. He did and I told him I got in touch with XXXX and told him what they told me about not having to make any payments for 1 year. I asked him where that money was going directly and he said it is a fee for us doing your paperwork. I was never told about any fee, and if I had knew about a fee I would of never signed up for their services. He lied about that money going towards my loans. XXXX informed me that there should never be a fee to consolidate any loans and that the 3rd party who contacted me are most likely running a scam. They also told me I can consolidate on my own at no cost.

I called a company R3 Processing to help me get a lower payment on my student loan. I completed an application with them and they gave me a username and password to the federal student aide website to check on my loan. The account manager who was handling my case said my payment would be {$74.00} a month. {$49.00} going to XXXX XXXX who they borrow money from to do the work for me and {$25.00} towards towards my student loan. I kept calling them about my application which they said could take up to 90 days. 90 days passed and they kept telling me my application was still being processed. Meanwhile I have been getting money automatically withdrawn from my bank account for {$49.00} by XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX XXXX and they told me R3 Processing said their work was completed. They said for consolidation. They did not consolidate my student loans. This was done in 1996. R3 Processing was to help me lower my student loan payments. They did not do this work. I have tried to call them many times and have left voice mails but have not received a call back.
