I am writing to figure out if a company fraudulently used my checking account by gaining access and ultimately wanting me to pay a surcharge of {$25.00}. I've attached an email I received and could not get an answer by contacting the company or both of my banks. I've spent hours on this and don't know another option. On XX/XX/XXXX I made a gas transaction at a XXXX XXXX gas station in XXXX, Az. I paid for the purchase with my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX which is linked to my checking account and allows me to get a discount on gasoline. I signed up for this card in XXXX using my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX checking account and provided the routing and account number. I signed up through the company they use called Zipline ( XXXX ). The process involves them making 2 small deposits of a few cents to verify the account. Once they did that, I responded to an email to complete the process and everything went smoothly for years. With the high cost of gas recently, I decided to use my XXXX XXXX card along with earned points from a grocery store named XXXX 's in the area. By doing this, I was able to fill up my tank for $ XXXX instead of {$5.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email from XXXX, a debt collection company on behalf of my transaction. They pointed out that I need to call and set up payment for the denied transaction and a {$25.00} surcharge. I contacted my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and they could not find any denied transactions on my account. I then called XXXX and told them what my bank found. After going around the mountain several times, XXXX advised me that this was involving a XXXX account that I used to sign up in XXXX, not XXXX XXXX. I told her I signed up with XXXX XXXX in XXXX and asked how they got my XXXX checking information. This is the problem. Since I closed my XXXX account on XX/XX/XXXX, I do not have access to any information and went to a branch office. They can't explain it but do show a denied transaction for my gas posted XXXX. I attempted to access my XXXX XXXXZipline account and it's locked. I called and was told that unless I pay the amount + surcharge, my account will stay locked. I told them that I acknowledge the transaction but, until this is rectified, I will not pay the surcharge. They would not allow me to pay for the transaction only. I am now in the process of trying to put my XXXX XXXX account back on my XXXX XXXX card to see if I can access their information but can't verify the small deposits because of being locked out. The end result is that I'm in limbo with this and can not access my accounts to provide any supporting documentation I may need such as when I signed up, etc. Someone needs to provide proof of how that account was changed but I don't have any means to retrieve it. I can request banking statements from XXXX if needed but they have to send them by the United States Postal Service which could take up to 30 days. I applaud what you do and hope you can help me. Thank you.

Here is the third letter that I have written to Zipline. It explains the situation. I also wrote XXXX and asked for their assisantance in resolving this matter too. This is the third letter I have written you and have not received any response. I know you received my letter because you cashed the enclosed check. When you cashed the check on XX/XX/19, I assumed that the matter was resolved. I was surprised to get a call a few days later from XXXX saying I still owed {$80.00}. I told them that I resolved the matter with Zipline and they cashed the check to put my account back on good standing. They said that it was only a partial payment. I asked them to call you but they refused. As you may recall, I was a victim of XXXX. I had to temporarily freeze the account until I resolved the issue. I worked with XXXX XXXX and the got all the transactions resolved except one. You can imagine the work involved in reviewing all your transactions and calling the companies to get them resolved. They all understood and waivered any fees associated with the freeze on the account and reprocessed the transactions. Zipline was the only outstanding issue I needed to resolve. I was relieved to see that you cashed the check and consented to waiver the fees as per my letter and instructions. When I looked deeper into the check and saw that you altered the check by adding their name to the Payee field. The check was made out to Zipline and you added XXXX. I dont believe this is legal and certainly not ethical. I have tried to resolve this issue in good faith but have been unable to. You have not responded to my letters. At this point, I believe we need to go to arbitration. I dont want to do this but based on your lack of response, I dont see any way forward. I am a XXXX XXXX and can not afford any cost arbitration costs. Please inform me of the next steps. My account number is XXXX. My reward card number XXXX. Being a victim of XXXX is not fun and I am hoping you will work with me to conclude this matter.
