I received a pre-approval letter from Priority Plus Financial for a personal loan. I called the number they provided and gave them the pre-approval code. After providing them my personal information to apply I was denied for the loan. When I inquired about why I was denied I was never given a straight answer, and they also misread my credit report and quoted things to me that were inaccurate. I spoke with XXXX and XXXX. During the call they indicated that my credit report showed I was currently in credit counseling ; however, I pointed out that I was never in credit counseling and that the account in question had been paid-off several years ago, to which they backtracked and realized they were wrong. XXXX also told me I had a public record on my credit report, and after I questioned her on this, she rescinded her statement and admitted there was no public record. She even admitted this wasn't the reason I was denied but she couldn't explain why she even brought it up in the first place. She mentioned my credit utilization was an issue, and also said she would look into options to ensure the loan proceeds would pay off the debt and lower the utilization, but I never got an answer on this either -- after putting me on hold she just transferred me back to XXXX, who then proceeded to try and steer me to a debt settlement service and even said it would have a bad impact on my credit, after I had already explained I was not interested in this service! The process was unnecessarily frustrating and they didn't seem to have any legitimate reasoning behind anything they were telling me. They also distributed my information to other loan companies, promising results, but no success here either and I didn't even apply to these companies! The whole process felt abusive and deceptive with no true intention of helping, and appeared to be an excuse to get my personal information and to try and steer me into a debt settlement service and charge me fees.

I received a mailing from Priority Plus Financial for a personal loan. Upon initial conversations, XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX, stated to me that he needed to send me to underwriting. He cold transferred me to XXXX. XXXX ran what I was told was a soft credit pull, to which I had to state verbally " Yes, I agree. '' When XXXX called me back the interest rates expressed as higher rates than are advertised on the Priority Plus FInancial, which the range maxes out at XXXX XXXX XXXX had told me that I received the pre-approval due to pre-screening and there should be no reason that I should not expect the XXXX XXXX rate. XXXX then stated to me he was with Priority Plus Financial 's " sister company, '' XXXX. When I tried to explain that the marketing/advertising and using terms for another financial institution as a lead generation source bypassed regulatory systems and transparency, he said that the marketing materials I received were not relevant to his company because they did not market me directly. When I tried to explain that it is indirect marketing through using a secondary company to transfer leads to their company, the regulatory requirements still remain, XXXX asked, " Are you going to just talk over me or let me explain that we did not market you? '' I replied there was no reason to be rude and he said, " I just give the same energy I get. '' I had told him that I was frustrated being asked for specific and personal information when there was a severe lack of transparency between the XXXX financial institutions. XXXX told me he was transferring me to underwriting and did not ask my permission to be transferred to another financial institution, who told me the marketing I received does not pertain to them and they have different terms, which were not disclosed to me prior to transferring to " underwriting.
