I have been receiving calls from XXXX XXXX for some time now and eventually got around to contacting them in order to make a payment. They informed me that I had an XXXX XXXX XXXX account go to collections and that the total due was {$750.00}. Upon receiving this information my first initial thought was to just set up payments. When I went to do so, they informed me that for each monthly payment they will be charging an additional {$10.00} processing fee for online/pay-by-phone payments. This brought up a concern as I am familiar with the FDCPA as well as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. " Section XXXX08 ( 1 ) of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA or Act ) prohibits debt collectors from collecting any amount ( including any interest, fee, charge, or expense incidental to the principal obligation ) unless such amount is expressly authorized by the agreement creating the debt or permitted by law. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) issues this advisory opinion to affirm that this provision prohibits debt collectors from collecting pay-to-pay or convenience fees, such as fees imposed for making a payment online or by phone, when those fees are not expressly authorized by the agreement creating the debt or expressly authorized by law. This advisory opinion also clarifies that a debt collector may also violate section 808 ( 1 ) when the debt collector collects pay-to-pay fees through a third-party payment processor. '' After speaking to a manager there, she told me that they are fully allowed to add this fee and could not provide me a legal reason that this was accurate on conjunction with the Section 808 ( 1 ) that contradicts her statements. I then told her I was going to research the issue before making any payments. After this occurred, it made me question if the actual amount they were attempting to collect was accurate as well. Upon reaching out to XXXX XXXX XXXX as well as referring to my account, it shows that the total amount they have past due is XXXX. With XXXX. Solutions looking to collect {$750.00}, there is a {$200.00} added amount that was not part of the original debt owed. For a solution, I would like for XXXX. Solutions to remove the added fees so that the account balance remains in the amount of {$540.00}. Additionally, per the attached document relating to the full Section XXXX ( XXXX ), I would like the ability to set up payments each month without the {$10.00} processing fee being charged.

The company PMT Solutions LLC ( Washington State License UBI XXXX ) has incorrectly tried to collect debt and fees for a disputed fine made in allegation to a XXXX Municipal Court parking ticket against a vehicle. ( WA LIC # XXXX ) In addition to the fraud that they have committed on incorrectly saying that I have a debt associated with their offices for this infraction which is currently under litigation, they have harassed me nonstop with a total of 3 mail articles, over 15 phone calls, and 2 emails about this fraudulent debt they have tried to collect which I have no association with. I have asked to be placed on a do not call list when they called me on XX/XX/2021. They have since called me three times. I have also publically disclosed on their XXXX business profile that they are not to contact me or my family which they have violated, and harassed us against our wishes. Their owner XXXX XXXX has led this company as a thug and she should be fined for the calls that she placed against me because they not only hurt XXXX XXXX, they also caused me extreme XXXX which I have sought counseling and counsel for. Her practices as an owner here in Washington state should not be stood for and her license to do business here should be revoked. For resolution, in this case, I would like her business to be fined for the three times her business has harassed me, her business license to be revoked, and for XXXX XXXX to never be allowed to hold a business license in the state of Washington again. Her malpractice of buying and trying to collect a debt that is still in litigation is extremely out of the ordinary, illegal, and to be quite honest, disgusting. Citizens in Washington state should no longer be able to be harassed by this thug XXXX and her band of collectors who do not follow FTC fair consumer debt collection practices. PMT Solutions is an unethical, very unprofessional organization. I called to find out why they were sending me bills that were grossly inflated -with predatory feeds attached. Also, they said lost my letter to them asking them to send me a fair bill -minus the predatory fees. Further, I sent a {$15.00} money order and said apply this to any basic fees or charges that I may owe-but, again, my having been in the hospital with an overnight stay due to a XXXX-I was concerned with this bill and called to understand and resolve it as soon as I got out of the hospital and recovered. I asked why I had these excessive charges ; and, why am I still getting charges-even after I called to pay and resolve it and asked for line by line -item by item research. Worse, PMT lost the {$15.00} money order that I sent in good faith with the letter requesting the exorbatant fees be removed! They actually lost the money order -did not offer to research and follow-up and hung up on me 3 times when I attempted to call back to ask for a manager to assist with resolutions. I was sent back and forth between XXXX companies and finally I became aware that PMT solutions has the ability to remove the excessive and predatory fees so that I can pay the base charges-fair and square. They simply refuse to be fair or ethical. For example on a charge that is {$21.00} a {$35.00} fee was added. This was done repeatedly even for charges under $ 7- a {$35.00} fee was added. This is by far predatory and unethical. They are unprofessional, rude and it is impossible to get fair resolve. I am certain that other consumers are being treated the same or worse. Please firmly address and stop them/this.

I've received approximately 30 calls from the debt collector over the past several weeks ( Starting around XXXX and proceeding through today, XX/XX/18 ). On the first call I was clear with them that I'd paid the debt already with XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and that I had a XXXX balance with them. From there, I verified with XXXX, online and by calling, and was informed that my account was closed and paid. I informed the collection agency pmt-solutions of this on several other occasions and asked them to stop calling. They continued calling using an auto dialer. If I answered, I'd usually get the tail end of a message reading off the last few digits of a phone number or I'd be prompted to press 1 and then be disconnected immediately. In cases which my voicemail picked up, only the last 3 numbers of their phone number ( presumably ) " 800 '' were left and no other message. In a few cases, someone answered and I explained to them there was no debt and directed them not to ever call. To contact be via usps if necessary. I've provided them proof from XXXX from the online account, they informed me that the online account might not reflect everything. I explained to them that I verified through the companies customer service over the phone, they told me they can't accept that either. I asked them to reach out to XXXX directly and they said they aren't willing to do so. I do not know what to do, I've sent them info and provided it over the phone.

On XXXX a caller at XXXX XXXX XXXX gave a third party personal info about my debt and was negotiating my debt with the third party without my knowledge or permission. He also did not disclose he was on a recorded line or attempt to verify my name, SSN, DOB, or Property Address before giving my personal info. Anyone person can call this company and get any debtor info without hesitation. I brought up that it was illegal and attempted to settle the debt he continued yelling at me. I asked to speak to his supervisor and I was hung up on. I researched the company and called back I spoke to the office manager and the office manager did nothing. The office manager would also not give me the attorneys name and said they dont have an attorney which I believe is also illegal. Additionally my contract did not state that I would pay collection fees and the debt collector admitted that there were collection fees added to the acct. I believe this is a sham to try and get me to pay more money so they can make more money rather then splitting the account with their client as their client agreement states.

I contacte d PMT solutions as I was told I had an outstanding balance with them. The lady told me that maybe my case would affe ct my credit score and I told her that I felt like I had paid this account in full. She said no sir you have n't and asked my how much I was willing to pay right then there. I then asked why I was n't notified of these accounts until now ( 6 years later ). So I asked if there was a manager or supervisor I can speak to or was it a pay or pay situation and she said yes you have to pay. So my deal is that they waited all this time and the interest that accrued is just insane PMT solutio ns original amount {$520.00} to {$820.00} now. It 's not fair that they did n't contact me and now I supposedly way more then original amount and I do n't have receipts or anything it 's been so long.

This company has called me several times over the last week during working hours. When I called them back and asked who they were as the caller ID was showing up as potential scam, the man on the phone cut me off, said POTENTIAL SCAM?!, interrupted me, explained I have a debt to pay and furthermore explained I must trust him and respect him. I do not know this man, I was not given written notice about debt, I was not given notice about my right to dispute the debt. I asked for proof of debt ownership and they responded that they will email me but I require written proof, as per law. Harassed me, caused emotional turmoil and hung up on me in a later phone call.

PMT Solutions was given a contract to collect a debt from XXXX XXXX XXXX which I had no knowledge of and was able to easily resolve with the XXXX after calling them. However the collection agent " XXXX XXXX '', which I'm guessing is a pseudonym and possibly a FDCPA violation, was extremely rude, made no effort to understand the situation and instead chose to mock me and assume I was totally at fault despite having perfect credit and never missing a payment on any account. He also chose to pursue a personal email and cell phone number ( most likely in violation of the FDCPA and the TCPA ) before even trying official business contact methods which would have worked.

I received a debt collection notice on XX/XX/08 regarding a bill I did not know existed from XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX never sent me a bill but instead sent my bill directly to PMT XXXX who require you to pay in person or acquire an extra {$35.00} fee to your bill. I have lived in Florida now for 5 months and can not go in person to pay my bill that I did not know existed. When I contacted XXXX XXXX regarding the bill, they stated it is not their responsibility to notify me of payment due. XXXX XXXX has also deleted my account so I can no longer see what the charge is for or any details regarding the bill.

I received a letter from PMT informing me of my past due bill from XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. PMT wanted me to pay them a {$60.00} service charge on top of my bill. I went onto the XXXX XXXX XXXX website and paid the bill directly on XXXX for the amount of {$250.00} which has been approved and withdrawn from my bank account. PMT now calls me daily leaving robocall voicemails to call them back with no reasoning. I have checked my credit report bi monthly and not had any debt collections on my report. The electric company accidentally closed my account and sent the debt to a collections agency. I contacted the electric company per the collection agency to resolve the issue. The electric company confirmed they had accidentally closed my account, but I still owed that debt but I could pay it to them. I paid the amount that same day to the electric company. The collection agency has contacted me several times after I had explain I had paid the debt and I no longer owe it.
