In reviewing my credit report, I found XXXX credit inquiries from companies I 'd never heard of in states that I do n't live. I 'd like these removed, and I 'm wondering why the companies were given my information in the first place. I 've called all of the companies and been told variously to either write a letter or that they could n't help me. Why did XXXX happen within XXXX days of each other this XXXX? I do n't own a house ; why are XXXX mortgage companies looking at my information? What is XXXX? Is that the same marketing group hired by both mortgage companies? If they 're only licensed in MA and NY, why would my information even be useful to them?
