I had calls from Optima Advocates selling the Student Loan Forgiveness and Loan Discharge. I verified my personal information to include my name, phone, email, and address. I learned the representative already had these details available. I was told to complete a Cease and Desist form notifying my original lenders ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) ) that OA would continue all future correspondence moving forward. This form was notarized on XX/XX/XXXX with signatures from both myself and my mother, XXXX XXXX ( co-signer on original loan agreements ). XX/XX/XXXX, I got verification of my enrollment in the PSLDP, and OA had been in contact with my previous lenders about a payment plan. XXXX XXXX, a rep, ensured me I should discontinue my payments to my original lenders. I was also told my payments would be made to XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ). I began making monthly payments of {$260.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I had an email on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX ; however, it informed me OA needed personal security questions to alter my demographics of my previous lenders accounts. I was also highly advised to stop making payments to my original lenders. She informed me it was important that my accounts be in delinquent status of at least 150+ days. I received a call from OA which I supplied my security answers, and following their advice, I no longer made payments to XXXX XXXX and/or XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX, I was emailed my case manager had now been reassigned to XXXX XXXX. I replied telling OA I had messages from XXXX alerting I had become behind. It had also been reported on my credit report. The case manager replied I should ignore the debt collection attempts ( I also included attachments to my case manager who then continued to dismiss their attempts ). XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX asked me for a copy of my drivers license and social security card to have on file. I sent these documents via email and received confirmation of its arrival. XX/XX/XXXX, my case manager changed to XXXX XXXX. She gave an update reading OA sent debt validation letters to XXXX XXXX and XXXX. I was told it would take 30-45 business days and would hear a response. XX/XX/XXXX, I was told by XXXX XXXX , XXXX that my XXXX loan had been transferred their collections. As of XX/XX/XXXX, it is still in collection status under a new company named XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I didnt receive updates from OA until XX/XX/XXXX. I got a voice mail with questions concerning my account. I returned the call, and again was informed my case had been given care. XX/XX/XXXX, I asked my case manager by email to speak to me about continued debt collection attempts and questions about my status with OA. I did not receive a reply until XX/XX/XXXX, which I was again left a voicemail. I reached out to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX with concerns ; however, I can no longer contact a representative of Optima Advocates by email ( recipient addresses are invalid ) or phone as all lines report disconnected. As a result, my last payment to OA was on XX/XX/XXXX.

This is about a company Optima Advocates. They told me they could help me with my private student loans. After 10 years of paying my private loans, I still owed a lot of money. ( The original loan amount was XXXX. I paid XXXXroughly XXXX $ a month on time every month, but still owed XXXX . ) This company told me it was because I had bad loans and because of that I could get my loans fully dismissed. The catch was I had to pay a huge fee upfront to this companyXXXX . This was suppose to go into a holding account and only paid to the company when my case was resolved. And they pointed to my contract that said if they didnt do what they said, I would get a full 100 % guaranteed refund of all my money. I also had to stop paying my private student loan money, which has completely ruined my credit. I have already made one complaint to the CFPB about this company not returning my calls or getting back with information. They did get back to me at the XXXX of XXXX but with not much information and then promised more information. I was told in XXXX and XXXX that they would answer my questions about why they charged me with such a high fee, and to clear up conflicting information about what is going on in my case. I still have not been able to get any answers. They said it could take a year to resolve my case. It has been over a year ( I signed my contract XX/XX/2017 ). And I cant get any proof that my loans have been dismissed or any proof that much has been done to justify their huge fee. They wont discuss refunding my money or answer any direct question as to why and what is going on. I spoke with a lawyer about what my rights are and if it is possible to sue them. I told them so, and Optima Advocates said their lawyer would get back to me. But no one has. I call them regularly. And so far have not been able to speak to anyone who has any information other than, I will get back to you or I will have this person call you back. Again, I have no proof that this company is doing what I paid them XXXX to do, meanwhile my credit is still ruined.

Received a call from one of their representatives in XX/XX/2018, telling me about student loan refinance and pay off at a lower and more manageable payment. Put me on a payment plan, while mentioning that it would be for my student loans. After a few months, payment of more than 5k to Optima Advocates, they said they were finalizing a settlement action with Student loan servicer and would take a few months to settle. Called and emailed in XX/XX/XXXX to get an update, said it was in the process and would email/mail me information sent to my Credit Bureaus and loan servicer, it is XX/XX/XXXX and still have not received information. Called and emailed again XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, said that the case manager is on leave for medical issues and she is the only one who has access to my file. Called them XX/XX/2018, spoke with quality control manager and told me they are putting my file together to get an accurate information to send to me. They will follow up again on Monday. They have said this multiple times with no updates

I signed up for help with Optima Advocates 2 and half years ago, XX/XX/2018. I paid them for their services and for two years I have to beg and plead for some kind of update on my case. I get a generic response from some guy named XXXX XXXX. Every other person I spoke to has left the company. The director and underwriter do not answer emails or voicemails. Calling goes straight to voicemail and no response to voicemails or calls returned. It's been two years and my credit is destroyed and I can't get a response. Don't give these people your information. They take advantage of people with student load debt. They try to take out loans in your name without your permission. This company is fraudulent to the core, promises to help but makes you pay UP FRONT. BIG RED FLAG! Do not give them your money!!! I lost {$5000.00} in all this.
