My wife received a call from an unknown woman saying they were trying to serve papers. My wife called # they gave her. A man named XXXX answered & stated he was with Legal Offices of Stien & Meyer. Told my wife that I owe money on an old account & am being sued. Told her account #, amount they are suing for and tried to get a settlement from her. Original amount was {$430.00} and trying to collect over {$1800.00}. This account was disputed through credit bureaus over a year ago and removed from my credit because creditor never replied with valid information. Man told my wife that he was looking at my credit report and it was placed back on there. I have not yet checked my own credit to verify but this is absurd! Not only are they threatening to sue, they are giving my wife information that by law they can not and trying to collect money from her. I can not find ANY information on this so called law firm and when I google the phone number ( XXXX ) it comes up with a marketing company

Stein and Meyer called my mother and my employer providing account numbers and informing them they has attempted to serve me both at home and at work. Neither of which is true. They will provide no address information regarding their location. All their numbers are blocked and can not be searched and I have found nothing but complaints regarding the numbers and company stating they are scams. They are calling from XXXX and instructing me to call XXXX. If it is legitimate they would be willing to provide more information regarding there location and would accept mailed payments. I feel it is a scam attempting to exploit me.
