I started a refinance process XX/XX/XXXX with Nationwide Mortgage Bankers. My loan originator XXXX XXXX never provided me with a final disclosure document prior to my closing for review. The last disclosure documents I received was on XX/XX/XXXX and it was a COVID attestation document. The Closing Disclosure that was allegedly attached in the link did not open. Since the process of refining took longer than normal I waited to receive the documents on my closing date. However prior to my closing I had submitted my attorneys name and number to Nationwide thru XXXX XXXX email since all correspondence on my transactions came from him. He replied I did not need an attorney although I knew that was my right to have one. They wanted to close on Friday XX/XX/XXXX rush job at this point wanting to meet the end of the month deadline but I had death in the family and would not be available until Monday XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX a signing notary agent made the appointment for the closing to take place on Monday at XXXX changing it later to XXXX due to a conflict on her part. I requested all documents for review before signing. I noticed on the final disclosure statement charges that were questionable and appeared inflated to increase my closing cost. Credit report fees totalling {$110.00}, BPC fee {$200.00} that the Title company agreed to refund thru my attorney in a follow up email. Recording fees {$160.00}, Settlement fee was increased by {$100.00} from the initial disclosure from {$750.00} to {$850.00}, Title Search and Review fees totaled {$700.00} and my Title Insurance {$620.00}. The closing cost due not appear in accordance with North Carolina regulations. The XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX has a general affidavit that I signed noting on line 14 of their affidavit states to determine eligibility for a discounted+premium, provide the Title closer with a copy of any title insurance policy issued to the property within the past 10 years or the closing statement confirming payment of a premium for prior title insurance policy, and the policy amount, and evidence of the amount due on the exist mortgage being refinanced. On XX/XX/XXXX I forwarded to Ms XXXX the Title closer a copy of my closing document to which she replied speak to my loan officer. On XX/XX/XXXX I questioned the issue of the discount and supplied my closing document from XXXX to Nationwide and it was disregarded. Furthermore Ms XXXX the Title closer or another person forged my initials on the COVID-19 Certification document after my signing, this is not my hand writing. I only spoke once to the loan originator, Mr XXXX XXXX has been the one corresponding through email and was rude and condescending in his final comments replying to my concerns that the funds should have been deposited to my bank account since a cancelled check was provided to Ms XXXX and shows in the final copy of documents I received from Mr XXXX. I commented that my previous experience refinancing my previous home the bank disbursed payments directly to the creditors and not to me. His reply is as follows : why would the bank have to pay for you to mail all your checks to the debtors? with all due respect XXXX, you want people to jump through hoops for you and do every little thing you want and then you want everyone to cut their fees and work at a discount for you. We closed the loan, gave you a great deal at an all time low interest rate and you got your money in a timely fashion, please just be happy and lets move on. I found this to be truly unprofessional, as a result of how they handled this closing poorly I incurred late charges as well from my creditors that they made checks out dated XX/XX/XXXX, I closed in NY and they were well aware of this and mailed all the checks to my NC residence left it at my door provided me with a receipt alleging it was shipped and billed on XX/XX/XXXX when the checks are dated XX/XX/XXXX delivery was on XX/XX/XXXX. If the checks were issued on XX/XX/XXXX why is my mortgage due on XX/XX/XXXX which should actually be due on XX/XX/XXXX. Nationwide seems to be practicing unfairly in the mortgage industry towards people of XXXX. Equity Settlement has violated their own affidavit. NWMB alleges they dont do estate deeds so I was required to remove my daughters from the deed to secure the refinancing of my mortgage.

Due to the mortgage officer 's incompetence and unprofessionalism, my application for a mortgage ( for the purchase of my first home ) was approved and then unexpectedly reversed at the last minute, with no explanation. The Seller was unwilling to wait any longer for the mortgage and as a result, my brother was forced to sell his stocks on short notice and at a loss in order to provide me with the funds needed for an all-cash closing. I must now seek a cash-out refinance in order to reimburse my brother. Below is the timeline of events leading to my as-yet unresolved mortgage application : XX/XX/XXXX - My application for a residential mortgage was submitted for processing by the mortgage officer, Mr. XXXX XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX I reviewed the Loan Application ( URLA ) online, and emailed a list of corrections to Mr. XXXX ( including correcting Yrs on this job from 4.00 to 2.00, for XXXX XXXX ). I was not given a copy of the final revised version of the URLA. XX/XX/XXXX I responded to Mr. XXXX email questions where, among other responses, I indicated that my residency start date at XXXX is XX/XX/XXXX and the end date is XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX Mr. XXXX sent me the mortgage approval congratulations letter ( with a commitment expiration date of XX/XX/XXXX ). XX/XX/XXXX The XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Board of Directors officially approved the sale of the Co-Op unit to me. XX/XX/XXXX Mr. XXXX emailed me stating that Underwriting needed additional documentation for redundancy purposes. I submitted the requested documents on the same day. XX/XX/XXXX I emailed Mr. XXXX asking for Bank Recognition Agreements required for the closing. He did not respond. XXXX Mortgage commitment expired. A request for extension was submitted by my attorney. XXXX I emailed Mr. XXXX reminding him that he had not responded to my numerous calls, texts and emails since XX/XX/XXXX, and I was still requesting an explanation as to why everything was on hold. In the meantime, the Sellers attorney issued a Time is of the Essence letter. XX/XX/XXXX Mr. XXXX emailed me stating that the loan had been denied, due to contract of employment is only 1 year. I had consistently informed Mr. XXXX, since XXXX, that my residency program is a two-year program. ( MrXXXX XXXX erroneously relied on a contract I provided earlier which showed the stipend amount only for the first year. The second-year contract will show an increased stipend. ) I provided Mr. XXXX with confirmation of my 2-year employment from XXXX on the same day. XX/XX/XXXX - The Sellers attorney declared the deal is dead if the closing does not occur by XX/XX/XXXX. My brother was forced to sell his stock investments on short notice and at a significant loss, in order to lend me the funds needed for an all-cash deal. XX/XX/XXXX Mr. XXXX responded that he would not be able to get the mortgage approval by XX/XX/XXXX. I requested a withdrawal of my loan application. Mr. XXXX has not responded. Subsequently, I submitted a letter of complaint ( attached : Complaint to XXXX XXXX ) to the company, Nationwide Mortgage Bankers ; via certified mail on XX/XX/XXXX, and via email on XX/XX/XXXX. Please see my letter regarding the mortgage officer 's other unprofessional and unethical conduct. The company has not responded.

Since XX/XX/2022 Ive been dealing with a very irregular experience regarding getting my home refinanced with Nationwide Mortgage Bankers inc. From what I researched about refinancing a home this process has been taking way longer than it should. I was told back in XXXX that this would be a very simple refinance since my payments are always on time but then a month later, I was told that I didnt have enough income. Due to this, my dad agreed to co-borrow his credit since his credit is good and has his home entirely paid for. So once again I was told this process would be simple and smooth. All of the paperwork I was told was needed was emailed to the same gentleman, XXXX, every week. Yet every time he would tell me a different excuse which included him being busy with his girlfriends birthday, a car accident, and helping his mother. The last thing I was told by him was that he was relocating to Florida and that a new gentleman, XXXX, would be taking over my case. I was told by XXXX that this case transferring would not interfere with my process. I continued to attempt to call and text XXXX after this but received no reply. After XXXX took over the refinance all of the paperwork that was already sent to XXXX had to be resent to XXXX. XXXX was apologetic as this wasnt really his fault. I was then told that since my case was coming to a close, I wouldnt have to pay my mortgage for 2 months. I did as I was told, and my XXXX payment ended up being late due to the false information I was given. Im still being told that my refinance is pending all paperwork, but this has been going on for months. XXXX recently called and texted me saying he was in the hospital for three weeks and said he heard I was upset so he sent several text messages claiming that hed check back on my refinance. He sent these text messages because I had told his coworker previously that I was seriously considering speaking to management and was told that he ( XXXX XXXX was management. I have several text messages saved of his unprofessionalism. XX/XX/XXXX was the first time I got a different person on the phone who then told me who the actual management was. She, XXXX, told me she would send their management a message and include XXXX, XXXX, and me to the email. Once the email was sent, I kept receiving very unprofessional text messages from XXXX that I have no problem sending if you would like. Nationwide Mortgage Bankers at large has been incredibly unprofessional through this experience and this process, namely the text messages that I received from XXXX, made me extremely uncomfortable and disheartened. I hope that this can be rectified in the very near future.

In XXXX XXXX XXXX Nationwide Mortgage Bankers offered me financing terms for a mortgage to meet my XX/XX/2022 closing date. Somewhere along the line they realized that they could not deliver what they have offered and instead of being upfront and truthful, they stringed me along for almost 6 weeks ; constantly delaying, lying and creating unnecessary issues, all in hopes that I would walk away on my own initiative. Within less than 2 weeks of losing my Earnest Money, Inspection cost and everything else I have invested, I decided to quickly use another bank to close the transaction so that I do not lose what Ive already invested. With such short timeframe and increasing interest rates environment, I was forced to accept an interest rate that was almost 2 times greater, a down payment that was 10 % higher and almost {$3000.00} higher points. I am a real estate agent and a real estate investor for the past 15 years and would have never under normal circumstances purchased an investment property under the financing terms I ended up accepting. Throughout this time frame ( XXXX through XXXX ), as I rightly became annoyed and persistently pressed My Broker ( XXXX XXXX ) for an explanation as to what was delaying the progress, he became very unprofessional, disrespectful, uncaring and unsympathetic to the stress and fear of losing my earnest money, that I was going through. XXXX XXXX began to ignore my calls/texts/emails for days/weeks, and whenever he did respond it would be some open ended nonsensical remarks, such as I am in a lot of meetings I spoke to his immediate supervisor, XXXX ( I can not remember his last name ), he too seemed helpful initially but ultimately disappeared. I went as far as to write a letter to Nationwidewide Mortgage Broker CAO ( XXXX { Can not remember his last name } ), but he did not bothered to respond. This company and its practices really need to be looked into. I saw similar reviews about them, but unfortunately I used them before I checked the reviews.

I received a letter from " Nationwide Mortgage Bankers '' stating that my mortgage qualified for the FHA streamline program. I contacted the number on the letter and started the process. We met all the criteria for the streamline program. Mr. XXXX told me NOT to pay my mortgage for the month of XXXX. As the rates went down, I requested a lower rate and it was agreed upon by the " loan officer, '' XXXX XXXX XXXX. He proceeded to send a notary to my home and the paperwork was signed and sent back to him. The notary also took copies of our social security cards and drivers licenses. On XX/XX/2020, I inquired about the status of the closing and he called me back. He stated that he had " bad news, '' as the rates " jumped back up. '' He failed to tell me what the new rate is. He simply wanted out without any explanation. I told him that this was not acceptable behavior, and he simply told me to " call your current service '' to get the mortgage refinanced. As such, I informed him that I needed to speak with his manager but he refused to provide the information and stated : " they will transfer you right back to me. '' In addition, the company included paperwork for us to give consent to obtain four years of my tax return even though it is not required for an FHA streamline refinance. I contacted XXXX and he stated that the tax transcripts were not needed, however, it was still hidden among the papers that I was given to sign. Similarly, income and employment verification are not needed, but the paperwork was presented to sign in order to obtain the information. Also, he stated that he was affiliated with Nationwide Bank, however, I called Nationwide to submit a complaint and was told that this company is not affiliated with Nationwide ban

I had 4 mortgages with Nationwide Mortgage Bankers for 4 different investment properties. 3 of the loans got transferred from one servicer to another service. The transfer took place in XXXX. Property taxes were paid in XXXX and it so happened that the escrow balances went negative on all 3 mortgages. After transfer in XXXX, the new servicer showed DOUBLE the negative balance in all 3 escrow accounts. There were no disbursements that would account for the missing money. Something must have happened during the transfer and this was confirmed by a representative on the phone. An escrow analysis was performed on all 3 affected loans to accounrt for the shortage and since all 3 had double the negative balance, my monthly payment went up significantly. I have been calling the company to try to get it resolved but the level of incompetence I have encountered is staggering. They do not respond to emails. The representatives on the phone have no access to any relevant data. They don't have access to any data from the previous servicer. I had to explain the issue every time I called them because they don't even have a case management system! They kept promising callbacks and results in X more business days but nothing ever happened. It took me over a month to get a manager to call back after I threatened to file a complaint and this manager finally acknowledged the issue and I was told it would be solved by XX/XX/2022. That didn't happen so I'm filing the complaint. The mortgage company is : Nationawide Morgage Bankers Inc ( NMLS # XXXX ) The service company is : XXXX XXXX XXXX ( NMLS # XXXX ) The impacted loan numbers are : - XXXX - XXXX - XXXX

We closed on our home on XX/XX/2018. We did not receive the closing disclosure until 2 hours prior to closing. At that point we realized that there were a lot of fees and were not explained before. We had no choice but to close because all of this happened 2 hours before the closing. Now we find out that the lender under your guidelines had to provide us with the closing disclosure 3 days before the closing, If they had followed your guidelines we would have had time to find another lender. This lender charged us 5.875 % in interest which was " reduced '' because the lender made us pay {$2600.00} in points. We never knew about these points until 2 hours before the closing. In addition the lender added {$2100.00} towards pre paid future utility water payments. We were told that since we used a grant this money had to be used in one way or other and it could not be applied to other closing cost or to reduce the loan amount. Then after we moved in we were informed by the water utility company that the previous owner owed money ( there were no liens against the house ) to the water commission and they kept the money. We never received the credit for the {$2100.00} pre paid towards the water. Basically that money went to the seller without our knowledge until after we moved in. We feel that we were deceived by the lender. They did not follow federal guidelines and all of a sudden, 2 hours before the closing, they came up with {$4800.00} in additional costs at which point we had no other choice than to pay or lose all the money we had invested in purchasing our first home.

During the entire process the person that handled the loan ( XXXX XXXX ) that works for the bank quoted me certain numbers, rate, and downpayment amount. Once the appraisal was done of the property the rate increased and I was told if I increase the amount of the loan to include the {$5000.00} ( the property appraised at {$5000.00} more than what he was asking ) The original amount was {$320000.00} when the appraisal was done it appraised at {$320000.00}. XXXX XXXX ( the person handling the loan and paperwork ) stated that if I increase it to {$320000.00} which would take the equity out that it would be less I would have to bring to closing, she assured me that it would help me, however after I agreed to take the equity out, she increased my rate from 6.75 % to 7.25 % and then added additional fees, so that she ( XXXX XXXX ) can keep the {$5000.00}. She told me of how it was important to make my first XXXX payments and if I didn't the mortgage company would make her pay her commission back to them. She constantly rush me through the deal once she knew that this was my first time buying a home. Throughout the entire process XXXX XXXX told lie after lie regarding this loan. She stated that she increased the rate so that it would save me money in the end. All together my loan was for {$320000.00} XXXX received {$15000.00} from the seller for closing cost and I had {$11000.00} for my downpayment, XXXX never explained that i had to have closing cost and the 3.5 % downpayment I was repeatedly told that all I needed was the 3.5 % for the downpayment

My monthly mortgage payment is {$1700.00}. XXXX , XXXX, as sub-servicer for Nationwide Mortgage Bankers , Inc., received a partial payment on XX/XX/2022 in the amount of {$820.00} and properly credited this to the Suspense Account, as partial payments are not allowed under the terms of this loan 's servicing. The following day ( XX/XX/2022 ), however, the servicer unilaterally and without notice applied this payment as a principal-only payment instead, without my advice or permission. Upon contacting the servicer, they indicated that partial payment money can not be held in the suspense account and incorrectly claimed that servicers have the right and obligation to apply suspense however they see fit at any time. This interpretation contradicts the express meaning, purpose, and operation of the suspense account as described in Regulation Z at 12 CFR 1026.36 ( c ) ( 1 ). Mortgage servicer has subsequently agreed, at my request, to reverse their " principal curtailment '' action and merge the {$820.00} partial payment instead with the other {$910.00} in partial payments subsequently received on XX/XX/2022 into the suspense account, and then appropriately apply the combined amount of {$1700.00} towards my XX/XX/XXXX payment, albeit posted on XX/XX/XXXX despite the fact that the remainder of the payment was actually received on XX/XX/XXXX. No late fee was charged in this case since I brought the issue to their attention during the 15 day grace period.

Hi, I have recently been trying to close on a house with a company by the name of Nationwide Mortgage Bankers , Inc. since XXXX. I recently was sent a denial letter last week. I have asked for my money back for the FHA appraisal I paid for. To my knowledge per FHA guidelines, I am supposed to received my money back. They have not been cooperative about this situation. I feel like I was just dragged around and cheated out of a deal. They asked my employer for employment verification at least 3 different times. They have also changed my loan type from FHA to Conventional twice. I've had to pay for the conversion and also I have received 4 different closing disclosures. My closing cost increased every time a closing disclosure came out. They could never give me a valid answer in why this happened and where they got their numbers from. They have aggravated me and the seller of the house. They would never give straight answers when asking about a definite closing date. It was always one excuse after another. I feel like they knew the entire time they would not be able to qualify me for the house, but just had me spend all this money for no reason. I feel extremely shafted and disappointed.

My name is XXXX XXXX and Im very unsatisfied with the service that I received from Nationwide Mortgage Banker Inc. I just finally closed on my refi after 7 months of going back and forth and even after it was not the deal that was originally agreed upon. In the end, I felt as if I had no choice but to close with this company rather than start this entire process again with another. During this rigmarole with the company, my credit took a toll due to incorrect statements that were told to me by the company. I was told by your company that I did not have to pay my credit cards and that the company would pay off the bills when we closed. This turned out to be false, which resulted in my credit card bills being extremely late which negatively affected my credit. I am extremely disappointed with the candor of this staff and the company as a whole. I just received a notice in the mail that I will now be staying with my old mortgage company. I received no heads up before this, just a letter. I would not recommend this company to anyone else as the unprofessionalism and stress I experienced here shouldnt be felt by another person. Signed a very unhappy customer

Im the seller and Im filing this complaint due to the unprofessional handling of the buyers information. During our process I understand that closing get push back sometimes but when the lender reaches out to the seller and disclose personal information about the buyer theres a problem. The lender has discussed sensitive financial information about the buyer and requested another extension. The lender kept in contact with over text and they still failed to preform closing with no communication with the title company or buyer but relaying message with the seller by text. Due to the disclosure of personal information of the buyer I feel it violate there privacy. The time I spent communicating back in forth with the lender has put both parties in a tough position. The buyer now needs to forfeit there escrow and seller needs to start there process over. Now I used to be a XXXX XXXX for over 7 and half yours. Passing others personal financial information isnt ethical. If you need contact information or text messages please reach out but this is not a good practice. Thank you

I was promised a healthcare worker discount of {$1500.00} and was informed 24 hours prior to my closing date that because the sellers rushed up our closing date they dont have the time to process this discount unless I push back the closing date by another week, which is impossible to do with less than 24 hours notice. While, yes, the sellers rushed the closing date, weve been working with this company since XXXX and they had promised back in XXXX we would received this healthcare worker discount. They also acknowledged the discount as recent as last week. Complete false advertisement and lack of professionalism. They also were rude, dismissive, and discourteous throughout the entire process.
