Contacted by a debt reseller ( Midwest Resellers in XXXX, MN ) to collect a debt that I had previously identified and reported with the original debtor as identity theft. Was continually harassed by telephone, threatened to ruin my credit, prevent me from getting any credit, etc. Long story short they have now attempted on three separate occasions to access my credit report by using the name MidwestBank1 and saying I applied for an installment loan. The first attempt I reported to the FTC and they removed from my credit report. I am now paying to have my credit monitored and locked from inquiries. I have told them I reported this first request with the FTC and they told me that they could not do that and the debt collector, XXXX XXXX from Midwest Resellers said he contacted the FTC and they said he had done nothing wrong. He continues to attempt to access my credit report with the applied for an installment loan as a reason and I just received a notice from my credit agency that he has again, yesterday, attempted to gain access to my credit report. This is the fourth time. This debt had nothing to do with an installment loan and my ex-husband put me down as a co-signor without my knowledge. I was not aware of this until after his death.

I made a phone call on XX/XX/2023 to Midwest Resale Specialis inquiring about debt placed on my account. The amount owed was {$870.00}. I asked them to verify the debt because I never signed any personal guarantee. I called again on XX/XX/2023 for verification and never received a response. Consequentially, this highly impacted my credit score and complicates future purchases. The company has called me from various numbers on numerous occasions without verifying the specific amount or reason for the debt.
