XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX FL XXXX XX/XX/2023 Consumer Financial Protection Bureau XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, Iowa XXXX To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to file a complaint against veteransloan.com, a mortgage lender, for discriminatory practices based on immigration status. On XX/XX/2023, I applied for a mortgage with veteransloan.com, and I was pre-approved for the loan. However, on the week that I was supposed to close on the house, my application was denied on the basis of my wife immigration status. I believe that this denial was in violation of federal anti-discrimination laws, specifically the Fair Housing Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. While my wife not a U.S. citizen, she has a valid Social Security number and have been a legal resident in the United States for about 2 years. I provided all necessary documentation to verify my income, creditworthiness, and identity, but my application was still denied. I am concerned that veteransloan.com may be engaging in discriminatory lending practices based on immigration status, which is unacceptable and illegal. I request that the CFPB investigate this matter and take appropriate action to ensure that veteransloan.com is complying with all applicable fair lending laws. I have attached copies of all relevant documents related to my mortgage application, including my pre-approval letter, denial letter, and supporting documentation. Please let me know if you need any additional information to investigate this matter. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
