I keep receiving phone calls from a debt collection agency Mid Atlantic. They are threatening me with a potential judgement regarding a debt from 2009. They claim it 's from XXXX XXXX but when I looked on my credit report there is no account mentioning XXXX XXXX. They also mentioned XXXX which I am assuming is another credit card company that possibly bought the account? Neither one is mentioned on my credit report. I paid multiple accounts off throughout the past XXXX years. Each time I paid via a website and received a confirmation letter either via email or mail. I also printed each receipt after making payment. This company says I can only pay over the phone with a credit/debit card or a prepaid card. I told them I do n't do that because XXXX, there is no mention of this account on my credit report and XXXX I only make payments via internet or through the mail with a money order. He said I would have to wait for the hearing. I 've been getting these phone calls non stop for several months. I feel it 's a scam and how do I truly know who I am paying. Why have n't they sent me paper work via United States mail? I 've lived at the same address for many years. Why has n't the original creditor contacted me? Why has n't a collection agency sent me a letter in the mail? I only want contact with this company via United States Mail. And I want proof that the debt is legit. I could 've paid it off with another agency and that agency never reported it.

Im shocked at the proof that you sent me based on my validation request. The law allows me to request validation for above account. I dont know your company, as you may be a scam artist trying to get money from people. I sent a letter to you 30 days ago asking for the following items. ( 1 ). Contract with my name on it. ( 2 ) .Fullaccounting of this account. ( 3 ). Proof that you have the right to collect money from me. ( 4 ). Proof that you have the right to collect in my state. And more. Where is this proof? How does what you sentmeprove that this account belongs to me? It does not. Your company has failed on multiple levels. Let me tell you how. ( 1 ). You reported a debt to the credit bureaus causing my score to go down without validating. Violation ( 2 ). You failed to provide sufficient proof, yet still continue collection activity by validating the debt above. Violation Would you like me to continue? DELETE THIS ACCOUNT ASAP or face complaints to the FTC, XXXX Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Attorney Generals Office. I will also be reviewing my state law to see if a bond is required and if your company is registered to collect in my state. Dont escalate this matter further over this little debt. Delete it at once.

Over the past few weeks I have received numerous calls from someone stating they were with the office of XXXX XXXX. They stated that they were calling to inform that there will be an investigation made on my current employment to include contacting my employer to have wages and employment information obtained. To prevent this action I would need to contact the office of XXXX XXXX at XXXX. I contacted the number to find out that the company was XXXX XXXX XXXX. After researching the company further I discovered that the group has had XXXX other numbers with an address at a XXXX in XXXX NY. The number that come up on the caller ID was a XXXX number XXXX. I attempted to ask who the debt was being paid to and was told it was the XXXX. I closed the account over 5 years ago because of false statements on the agreements and excessive fees. The account was removed from my credit report after I submitted the case to XXXX. Now some investor has purchased the debt and is attempting to scam me for over 300 % of the amount that was settled 3 years ago. There is another instance where this company has contacted a person stating if the item is not paid it will effect their ability to get a bank account or even obtain employment.

This company has called me over 20 times leaving messages that my social security is linked to an account and all my employers will be notified and will collect from them. I filed bankruptcy 2 years ago. The women stated my old account and I told her it was wrong. immediately she snapped back and said " what 's wrong ''. I asked the year of the account and she was rude and interrupting me. and said well I have your social security number so good luck to you. I called back to speak to a manager and the same women immediately picked up and said " you ai n't wasting anybody 's time ''. I called back from a different number to get a manager and a male picked up. I tried to probe for information so I asked for a mailing address to make a payment. He asked for my phone number, I told him that my phone number was n't linked to that account. he then asked for my SS and I told him I 'd rather not give it over the phone. I asked him to search me by name. he found my " account '' and I asked him what year it was from. All of the sudden the phone and the systems were down. I told him that I filed for bankruptcy and that they needed to stop calling. He said " you were lying then! '' you know what bye.

They called my home phone ( calling from XXXX ) stating that were calling on for XXXX ( which is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ... and I do n't even know where that is ) and that they were MACS regarding a 'check protects claim. ' If I did n't handle this immediately, that it would affect my bank and banking. I was instructed to call XXXX. I work in credit and collections and would NEVER consider this a valid claim as I have NEVER received any physical correspondence relative to any debt due and owing a hospital or otherwise. I used XXXX and called back XXXX and got a strange tape recorded message stating that the number was n't in service. I then called XXXX and when I asked them what the call was about and mentioned the FDCPA, they guy on the other end stated, " He did n't care about whatever the FDCPA-was I was talking about. " I work in credit and collections and strongly view this manner of debt collection as improper and negligent, not to mention downright unlawful.

Contacted by midatlantic conumser credit about a debt that is beyond the statue of limitations. Provided to me when requested no statement or proof that i owed the debt. I willingly gave them a settlement payment however when i tried to contact them to change the date of funds the number is disconnected and the person that gave me their personal number does not return any calls. I contacted my bank and stopped the payment. I believe i am being scammed by this company and have seen over the web that other people have had this experience with them as well. I would like to report them and have an investigation opened. The kept calling all my family members about my debt and all different phone numbers were used. and any of those numbers were not in service after i tried to call them back. Please look into this as they are trying to extort money in very bad ways. Phone number used that is not in service is the following XXXX Mid-Atlantic Consumer Services '.

Continue to get repeated automated calls from a local number of XXXX and leaving a message to call XXXX I 'm getting these calls at work, on my cell phone and my daughters cell phone. Person never leaves their name and/or company name. They state that if i do n't call them back they will contact my HR dept and once that has happened the process can not be reversed. Now getting what appears to be another message on my cell and work number stating they are going to prosecute me to the fullest of my states laws. Law states they have 5 day to send me a letter of intent to collect on a debt with a company name, phone number, and a valid address. I have not received any of this. After googling the phone number they requested i call back, I 'm finding many complaints by others. Several people reporting the company name of XXXX. XXXX the name and could n't fine anything on the company.

I keep getting calls from this debt collector, stating that they are taking me to court and have been " trying to serve a summons '' for a debt we do n't even owe to XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX XXXX and they have no record of us owing any $ $ - since we closed our account with them in 2009. Caller said she was XXXX XXXX and that a court summons would be served between XXXX today - no court summons was served. Said we had to call XXXX and reference XXXX or they would freeze our bank account. She called my place of employment. How she got that #, I have no idea. Internet search shows this is a scam. I do not want these people calling me. If they have proper paperwork, they should send in the XXXX. Also received calls from XXXX " XXXX XXXX '' and XXXX X XXXX " XXXX XXXX '' - all saying they are " trying to serve a summons ''.

I was contacted by " XXXX XXXX '' from Mid Atlantic Consumer Services via phone and email, saying I owed {$1300.00} for a plain green loan from XXXX. I never received a letter yet by XXXX Mail from this company. She only gave me the name and account ( XXXX XXXX XXXX for the creditor, never a website or address. The problem is I was contacted by a company in XXXX XXXX called XXXX XXXX XXXX and paid them through XXXX Billing {$110.00} a month for 7 months, XXXX XXXX through XXXX XXXX. I have been doing some research and have found that all these companies operate with addresses out of NY that go to post office boxes in a XXXX store, XXXX XXXX and recently got a XXXX address. I already paid what I now believe to be a bogus company and I do n't want to be expected to pay another bogus company.

Mid Atlantic left a threatening voicemail on my cell phone about a debt and how my credit would be ruined due by reporting to a CHEX agency. When I called the first XXXX refused to provide any information but demanded my SSAN. They hung up when I asked who they were and what the claim was. Finally, a XXXX person told me that they would fax the documents but could n't tell me over the phone what the claim was. The fax has not arrived. My credit is excellent and I am wondering what this about. These people are using my cell phone without permission. They are rude and overbearing and use legalistic phrases that are not relevant. There are tons of complaints about these people online. I resent my cell phone being used, being accused of owing a debt, being harassed, and being threatened.

I am not sure what happened. I think my ex-husband applied and received a payday loan in my name in 2010 when we were at the end of our marriage so he could move. He handled all of the bills. This company has continued to call my job since 2010 and I have asked them several times to not call my job. I have also asked them how can I resolve this issue. I have asked if I can file fraud documents to prove this, I was told if I shut up then it can be explained. I calmly asked and was still rudely told to shut up and it would be explained. XXXX XXXX ( Supervisor of Verification from Mid-Atlantic Debt Collection ) XXXX told me to shut up numerous times until I finally hung up on him and blocked the number.

I received a voicemail from XXXX which in number search appears to be a cell phone. The message left states the following ( the beginning appears to have been cut off ) : '' ... office of MACS. This call is in regards to a possible check protest claim that is scheduled to be placed against your name and social security number. If placed, it could affect any current banking you may have. Please take this opportunity to fix the matter as once it is placed it can not be retracted. Our phone number XXXX. Once again the number XXXX. " I have reported this to the local news authority that keeps track of consumer scams. I have read information online that seems to point this out as an identity theft scam.

XXXX XXXX sold this account to XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$1200.00} on XXXX XXXX2019, with false pretense after XXXX XXXX has been paid by the insurance company and have tried to commit fraud against me the consumer. Then have sent my information to this company XXXX XXXX XXXX to try and force me to pay a debt that was already paid once, Then continued to submit this as a non paid balance to my credit report. To intentionally report false information to XXXX. I want this frivolous charge removed off my credit report. This is illegal and I need help now. They are committing fraud.

I received XXXX dishonest calls this week from Mid Atlantic Consumer Services. The first said that they were calling about a XXXX income tax that form that I " refused to acknowledge. They clearly made it sound like they were acting on behalf of the government. In the second call they said they " had a form with my social security number on it '' and they were trying to send to me but it was refused. When I called their XXXX number it was clear that this was a debt collection service but never mentioned anything of the sort in the XXXX voice mail messages they sent me.

the company Mid Atlantic collection service keeps calling me from random numbers XXXX, they claim I took out a online payday loan ( I have never used this kind of service ) they claim to have my social security number and reference a address I had over 10 years ago. They are threatening me with bank fraud, wire fraud, and owing a payday loan company. also say they are contacting my employer and do not have any information validating their claim. As I read other complaints it looks like fraud to me

Mi-Atlantic Consumer Services keeps contacting me and family members to collect debt on which I have paid already. They have threatened to contact my human resource department as well. Even when I talked to them on the phone and told them I do not feel comfortable sharing information over the phone, they seemed to get mad at me. I even double checked my credit to make sure this was not on my credit and that I indeed paid it.

I recently received notification from my bank the my account had been levied by Mid-Atlantic Recovery by way of XXXX XXXX regarding a debt that is more than 10 years old. I did n't receive any written notification to appear in court so that I could dispute it. O have sent a letter to XXXX XXXX questioning the original debtor and how can they initiate legal action against me on an old debt. I am awaiting a response.
