This company sent me text messages on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX with a vague message about trying to contact me about a debt. When I responded to them they immediately asked for my full name, Last 4 of social, date of birth, and address. Basically, everything one needs to steal my identity. I informed them that they should send any bills to my address. Not hard to find. Its public information. They continue to refuse sending me any written communication about the debt unless I give them all my personal information.
Today, they left a message on my cell phone. They then proceeded to call any and everybody Ive been in contact with. My in laws, my brother, my old work friend from years ago, and who knows how many other people that havent reached out to me yet. I called and spoke with somebody at the office of Metacorp LLC in XXXX, NY who again wanted me to freely give up all my personal information. She adamantly refused to even identify herself as a debt collector unless I gave up all said personal information to a complete stranger. They refused again to send me a notice of the debt by mail.
If this is a valid tactic and a valid company it is no wonder Americans continue to get their identities stolen. They are so harassing and embarrassing to people that they just want it to stop and give out personal info. I was under the impression this company is required by law to send me a written notification of said debt. Isnt XXXX XXXX from MetaCorp required to identify herself as a debt collector? She straight up refused. How is any of this legal?
Not to mention this company has a somewhat shady history according to the internet. Are they really buying up non-legally binding debt for Pennies on the dollar and then illegally harassing consumers who arent aware of their rights? This is so shameful. This company needs to be stopped.

This company has called me several times and also called all my family members to speak to them. The company is out of line in calling family members about a personal matter that DOES NOT have to do with them! The calls have been made several times to all family members and I have no notification about the debt in writing and they are harassing ALL family members by making several calls to them. They have called XXXX, XXXX, XXXX many times. I had to tell family to block their number. Meta Corp LLC out of XXXX, NY practices harassing phone calls. XXXX XXXX is a nasty person and when I spoke to her, I told her she has not right calling my family and she said she did and that she has all rights to try and collect this debt.
This company practices unethical collection procedures and is verry harassing.

I recently submitted a claim against an outsourcing company called Metacorp. They responded to my original complaint today stating they outsourced this debt to different collection agencies. Spoke with XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX and are aware that I have spoke with XX/XX/XXXX regarding identity theft. They suggested I report identy theft to the FTC ( which I did XXXX so all communication would stop regarding this debt. They also stated and I quote " Nonetheless, as MsXXXX XXXX continues to alleged that this account was fraudulently opened, we have recalled her account from XXXX XXXX XXXX and have placed it in a " FRAUD-PENDING '' status. '' I just received an email now from XXXX XXXX XXXX with instructions to clear the debt. Obviously Metacorp did not do as they said they would.

I was in the process of switching phone carriers and I recieved a call from my husband saying a debt collector called him and was very persistent i then got my phone on the same day and my friend XXXX called me and told me that they called her to that day then my mom called and they had also called her and ask for information and they repeatedly tried to harrass my friends and family with calls within 24 hours. I spoke with them this morning, they had no reasoning to be calling everyone in reguards to my debt and it has become embarrassing and upsetting

Yesterday myself and my family and friends recieved calls from this debt collector. In the messages left they said they were medicorp which associates with XXXX. Once i called they made me verify information before telling me they do not collect medical but they are collect from a loan. At this point i am embarrassed and upset that they tried to lie and that they contacted random people in my life
