My wife and I received a notice from XXXX XXXX who is a debt collection attorney for medshield. They filed a lawsuit claiming they exhausted collection efforts yet never received any voicemails nor is the debt reported to the credit bureaus. This debt is from over 7 years ago. I submitted a written statement indicating several hardships and offered an immediate settlement offer for a majority of the bill. My sister is XXXX XXXX which we are assisting financially as well as watching our niece a good portion of time and incurring additional costs. We also have large amount of medical debt due to 7 rounds of XXXX totaling over 150k. In my letter I requested a counter settlement if mine wasnt accepted. I was told the settlement was denied and no counter offer. During at least one call I was never notified the call was recorded. Did some research and this guy is suing people for 15-20 year old debt when the brr was a juvenile ... how is this consumer friendly? My sister has many expenses and bills we help with including very expensive medicines. I ended up being forced to pay XXXX in fees on a XXXX debt or be sued? No consideration for our situation.

I am currently trying to close on a house and was advised that I had 2 medical bills on the reporting agencies from 2012 by the amounts of XXXX and XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was told it was sold to a Med Shield Incorporated. This debt beyond the 7 years limit and needs to be removed. They are still reporting it as if it is a new debt. I requested it be removed and they are not willing to do so nor give me further information to resolve it. They were rude to my financial advisor when they called with me on the line to get further information about my debt.
